If you were inspired by music & bagpiping in Glasgow last week during Piping Live! or after the World Pipe band Championships at the weekend, well done to Inveraray & District Pipe band, we thought you might like to hear again about the new chanter & bagpipe lessons starting starting next Wednesday, 23rd August, in Douglas Park Bowling Club, Irvine Road, Largs.

Whether you are just starting out on a new venture or you currently play bagpipes and are looking to improve or perhaps you used to play and they have been under the bed for too long there is a group for you.

Come along and learn new skills, new tunes, meet new friends and have fun.
You are never too old to learn.

Largs Bagpiping Club is going strong. 
There are only 5 evenings of this practice chanter and bagpipe tuition block still to go so if you used to play, still do play or wish to learn, then come along on a Wednesday evening.
Beginners are from 8-9pm and everyone else 7-8pm.
The club runs in Douglas Park Pavilion, Bowling Club, on the Irvine Road.
Come and join in enjoy your playing in a relaxed atmosphere and make new friends.

Largs bagpiping club offers excellent tuition for novice and experienced pipers alike.

For those who wish to go further in their knowledge there is also the opportunity to study and sit the relevant SQA qualifications.
SQA’s new National Progression Awards (NPAs) and Professional Development Awards (PDAs) in Scottish Bagpipes and Pipe Band Drumming cover the skills and knowledge pipers and drummers need for performing on Scottish Bagpipes or Scottish Pipe Band Drums.
The awards have been developed by SQA in partnership with the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board (PDQB). They are based on National Standards of design, teaching, assessment and certification. 
There are six levels in Piping and four levels in Pipe Band Drumming.
All levels incorporate both Solo Performance and music Theory.

Looking for something to do this Sunday?? (14th May 2017) 
​Get yourself along to Battery Park in Gourock and enjoy the Highland games.
Not only will there be the Highland Games but also excellent bagpiping with top Pipebands and Children's entertainment.

Alastair Campbell’s efforts to raise awareness of mental illness will take a musical turn this weekend as he plays bagpipes left to him by his brother, Donald.
Mr Campbell, Tony Blair’s former spin doctor, often campaigns for mental health charities, inspired by his own breakdown in the 1980s and his older brother’s lifelong struggle with schizophrenia.
Donald died last summer aged 62. Mr Campbell said that playing the Tiree Song Book at Celtic Connections in Glasgow on Sunday would be the perfect event to commemorate him.

Bagpipe and Chanter Lessons
Bagpipe / Chanter lessons. (Adults, 18+)

Not long to go now until the Enrollment on Wednesday 7th December from 7 - 8 pm.

​You can also enrollment on Wednesday 14th & 21st December from 7 - 8 pm.

​There will be a class for beginners and a seperate class for more advance players.

Remember if you cannot come along on any of the 3 Wednesdays in December but would like to start in January please drop me a note of your contact details and experience level so that I can include you in my contacts list.
