After nearly 13 years of styling I think I have found the one.
The one blazer I mean, I have found that one that ticks all the boxes .
If we have worked together or you follow me on social media then you will know I am not the biggest fan of a cardigan but would always suggest where possible you whack on a blazer, biker, denim jacket any from of structured jacket other than that frumpy typically bobbly cardigan.
This isn’t always practical as most blazers are usually lined and feel more comfortable taken off when at the desk but this blazer is the ideal as its made from jersey so feels like a warmer smarter layer that stretches with you, keeps you warm and also looks really stylish !!!
5 Ways to wear a blazer.
Wear one with jeans – If you are wearing jeans on a daily basis then you need to be finishing off that look with a blazer, maybe its just for everyday with the kids or for work .
wear over a dress – Make sure your proportions are right here and that the blazer nips you in at the waist to show off your figure.
wear with a skirt
wear over your jumpsuit
My favourite from the high street.
I have come across many great blazers in my time and still have a number i would highly recommend lots of you may have seen this Whistles blazer which is also a brilliant option.
H&M – this one from H&M is also an absolute beaut its a great fit and perfectly tailored to give such nice nipped in look.

Its that fun time of year again when you leave the house in your thermals and by midday your boiling. Therefore what is best to wear for work? in this transeasonal period, before it is full on Winter dressing for work.
A pleated skirt is maybe a piece you have been wearing for summer, to adapt it to autumn winter is by the addition of knitwear, tights and wooly coats. The ankle boot is such an all rounder boot worn with skirts, dresses ,trousers and jeans the perfect boot for the coming season.
The fear from wearing a 7/8 length trouser in winter about there ankles freezing, don’t need to worry, may I suggest locate the right ankle boot for the trousers. The layering of coats is a massive trend for AW so embrace it early with a blazer under a wool coat to keep you wrapped up this autumn.
The amount of leopard print dresses out in the shops is endless, but this one is a goodie. Adding a piece of chunky knitwear over the top can turn a flimsy dress into a A/W wardrobe hero, as can layering underneath with knitwear.
When you become a Mum the fear is you will live a sad, sick covered existence, but fear not as #satisfashionfix is back with a “How to be a Stylish Mum?” special.
Here are a few looks that can easily be recreated to make you a Stylish Mum
So What do you wear to be a Stylish Mum ?
The jumpsuit should not be feared, (at worst you get an extra few minutes at the toilet break from the kids so embrace it !) This one is super cool and great for going to soft play and also this season heading to the Edinburgh festival.
Dungarees, now how many of us love to dress our babies in these? but when it comes to you, have you ever considered it ? Now is the time to get onboard, its a fab wardrobe hero, that you can throw any shirt or top underneath and gives you instant cool.
Just jeans and a t shirt is a usual Mum style staple but why not be a bit quirkier than that and throw on a floral kimono jacket to this mix, or a Blazer is a great way to be a little more stylish than just jeans and a t.
Satisfashion Personal Stylist and Personal Shopper based in Edinburgh, Scotland, brings this weeks Satisfashion fix. Leopard print and any animal prints tbh are going to be a massive fashion trend for AW18 ,so why not make a leap to next season with these outfits.
Desk to Dinner
I love this look for work as its super easy, no need to add accessories even as the dress is such a statement. Maybe add stacked bracelets for an evening edit of the outfit.
What I love about this outfit is that I can imagine the majority of you have the most of it in your wardrobe, the black vest and biker so therefore you only need the trousers to give you a cool update to the season ahead.
Its so easy to stay in jeans for a day look, why not venture out and go with a midi skirt, this style can then be dressed up for nights out or even worn to work. This piece has endless outfit options thats why I love it.
What to wear to Musselburgh Races Stobo Ladies Day when you have left it to the last minute ?
When it comes to occasions, realistically how many do we get a year?
At Musselburgh Races Stobo Ladies Day we’re giving ourselves another opportunity to get properly dolled up and why not? The best dressed prize for you Ladies is £3000 at stake and oh, a weeks loan of a really cool car.
This June, I’ll be back judging Musselburgh Races Stobo Ladies Day, Best Dressed Male and Female for a fourth year running, I can’t wait to see who’s the most stylish of them all.
If you’re going to Musselburgh Races Stobo Ladies Day what are you going to wear? In this blog post I hope to guide you with some top tips in getting ready for the fabulous day and take away that ‘I’ve left it too late’ fear …
First stop in the ‘what to wear mission’ should be your current wardrobe …….
Is there something in there that can be re-worn and updated to look as good as new? Do you have a trusty LBD or little floral number that can be jazzed up with some statement earrings, heels and a hat to be races ready?
If this is the case and you have found ‘the one’ in your wardrobe then let’s go shopping for accessories
I would recommend you find the perfect accessories here:
What if you’ve searched high and low but nothing is working for this years Musselburgh Races Stobo Ladies Day, where do we start?
Stobo Ladies Day is typically all about the dresses and this season the great British High Street has it all: floral, lace, bold colours, pastels and stripes.
If you find a dress style you feel comfortable and confident in, make sure to add a hat or fascinator and you’ll be races ready. If you have another big social occasion, you can wear the same dress, its great to find a dress with multi usage. Dress length is really important, long dresses can be a little awkward at the races. Heels, hats and grass are hard work enough never mind having to grab the hem of your dress all day, I would recommend trying the midi length or shorter if you like.
If you would like to try something different some great alternatives are jumpsuits and trouser suits. The latter has made a massive come back this season so I’d love to see some ladies sporting this trend at Musselburgh Races Ladies Day.
This season the skirt is having made a massive moment. I think skirts will allow for a very individual look at the races as you really have to build your outfit piece by piece and could be on my lookout list for a winning outfit.
Its never too late to buy a full outfit and just think the later you leave it the more chance no one else will have the same thing so don’t stress out.
Go for an inspirational shop and try on some different styles to get fresh ideas and take up any personal shopping in stores as they know their collections better than anyone. Also consider a Personal shopper like myself to suggest new ideas that you may not think of and even go to shops you wouldn’t usually visit.
In Edinburgh shops I can highly recommend for occassionwear are.
Once the main outfit is decided, it’s time to think accessories (see links above) and also consider a coverup just in case the unpredictable Scottish weather turns up .
Rather than the usual cardigan, bolero or pashmina (bleurgghhhh!) why not consider a dress with sleeves so you dont need to even think about a cover up. How about to really funk up your dress why not add a biker jacket or blazer? There are so many colours and textures of biker or blazer styles rather than cardigans, that make outfits look old and frumpy so get some structure with some tailoring.
Have the best time at Musselburgh Races Stobo Ladies Day whatever you end up wearing. Here’s a quick insiders tip, be confident, it’s all about how confidently you wear your clothes that helps you stand out more. Wear it, work it, own it!

I love this time of year when all the sparkle hits the shops.
One shop I have been spying on this season, and had to venture into when I noticed all the festive fabrics hitting the rails was, Simply Be
This admittedly was my first time in trying on clothing from Simply Be who cater for sizes 12-32.
I have to admit my attitude towards SB was that its not a shop for me being a size 14, but I was hugely surprised when I took to the fitting rooms armed with tons of pieces to try on from Jeans, tops and sequins that actually the cut and quality of fabrics is great. It has left me with a new found warming to the fact, It is a shop for me, and that I will definitely go back, as and when a new clothing purchase takes my fancy. (So see you next week SB !!! )
Gone are the days of the plus size shops (If I m even allowed to utter that now ) this is a shop for all, they just happen to cater for sizes not covered by the rest of the British high street and they unlike a lot of the rest of the high street consider the curvier body shapes of typical British women, who have areas of there bodies they like to disguise and accentuate.
May I also take this time to say how much of a great job Simply Be have done in a transformation from where they were to what they are now and the attitude and stigma associated with the tag Plus size.
Enough of my passionate preach but essentially I m telling you if you are a size 12-18 don’t knock checking out the collection that Simply Be has to offer when your doing your rounds of the great British high street for your next clothing fix.
Any way onto the fashion ……….
Here are my Satisfashion top 3 picks for this festive season ahead from Simply Be. (Click on the pictures for Links)
You cannot getaway from velvet this season (or any festive season ) therefore this jacket had to enter my wardrobe and will remain for a long time.
I love it because it can be worn in so many ways with a simple camisole and jeans, worn over a dress as a fab winter cover up (NO BOLEROS ALLOWED ON MY WATCH). Worn loose as you would maybe a cardigan (NO BORING CARDIGANS ALLOWED ON MY WATCH)so this is a cool alternative to a cardigan.
Yet again another shape of skirt that is massive on the high street right now, this one caught my eye as I love the sparkly bead addition. Its a great option to dress up and down. Dress it down with a cool slogan tee and trainers or dress it up with a nice top and sparkly ankle boots
I m slogan Tee obsessed, and this one can double up as a cool Christmas jumper nod. “I m Just Sleighin” had to be done. A cool Slogan Tee isn’t going anywhere and is kinda becoming a wardrobe staple .
