It’s never a bad day when you get an email inviting you to review a spa, especially when the treat includes a delicious lunch and a chance to catch up with lots of old blogging friends. Last week I was invited to Solent Hotel in Whiteley near Fareham for a day of pampering at their newly renovated Spa, which felt like a much needed treat. I travelled down to Hampshire with my friends Bonnie from MamasVIB and Rosie from Mummy and Boo, which gave us a brilliant chance to catch up and talk all things blogging and Instagram. Once we arrived at Solent Hotel we were shown through to the Spa reception area and offered a delicious fruit smoothie while we filled out our treatment forms, before being given the full spa tour and handed fluffy bath robes and slippers. Honestly, as soon as I had my swimming costume on and… View Post

(This post contains affiliate links) Last month we decided to take a last minute trip to Barcelona and Sitges (which is a beautiful seaside resort a few miles outside of Barcelona), just before Easter. The girls were off school and I managed to find some super cheap flights (thanks to the Brexit fiasco), so I thought why not? I’ve always loved Barcelona, I’ve been a few times but have never taken the kids – to be honest I wasn’t sure if the girls would appreciate a ‘city break’ with all the walking involved but they took to it brilliantly!! As long as we stopped often for drinks and snacks, which is easily done in Barcelona, they were happy. As you can see from these pictures, we were lucky with the weather. We had sunshine every day and temperatures were in the mid to high teens, which was perfect for walking… View Post

Healthy, glowing skin is (for me) the absolute holy grail of skin care. Yes, I also want to look youthful but to be honest dewy, healthy skin is always going to look more youthful. So how do you achieve that perfect glowing skin? The answer is pretty simple – remove any trace of dead skin cells and apply plenty of hydration! These dreaded dead skin cells are what makes your complexion look dull and dry. Here are some of my favourite Pixi Beauty products that deliver on this promise… Start with Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel. This refreshing cleansing gel has Glycol Acid to remove dead skin cells and Aloe Vera to moisturise and sooth your skin during this first vital skin care step. I really love the texture of this cleanser and although it exfoliates (with acid) it still feels gentle on my skin. I also love the matching Glow… View Post

I recently wrote a blog post on what I’ve been watching on Netflix, because I love reading what others are watching and thought I’d share some of my favourite finds. Today, I’m doing the same with Amazon Prime. If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber you’ll know that there are hundreds of movies and box sets available for you to enjoy at home for free. Here’s what I’ve been watching and enjoying recently on Amazon Prime… 1. The Marvellous Mrs Maisel (Season 1 and 2) Now this for me is quite simply TV Gold! I love the fifties styling of this multi-award winning sit-com, based on the unravelling world of a recently separated jewish house wife and her secret life as a stand-up comedienne. Honestly, this is a real treat and I can’t wait for season 3. 2. New Amsterdam (Season 1) This hectic hospital drama based in New York definitely reminds me of… View Post

Last week my baby girl turned three, where that time has gone I can’t tell you but my smallest human is definitely growing up and growing up fast! No longer a baby, she literally wants to do everything herself; from getting dressed in the mornings to helping me make diner. She really is a little joy though, always happy and always eager to get involved with everything around her. So when it came to her birthday I thought it was about time she had her first birthday party! The other two had definitely had at least one by this age (that’s curse of the third child for you). I decided on a rainbow unicorn party theme, because well… every little girl loves a rainbow unicorn party! Including me! We had a rainbow unicorn bouncy castle in the garden, lots of rainbow coloured balloons, rainbow tassels, a rainbow unicorn birthday banner saying “Iris is… View Post

Let’s talk lip stains. If I’m being completely honest (as the title would suggest) they’re not normally my ‘thing’. The ones I’ve tried in the past have been drying and I’ve not liked the general look and feel of them. Basically, they leave my lips looking like I’m still wearing remnants of yesterday’s lipstick – not like I’ve just applied a fresh coat. Hopefully you get the picture, it’s just doesn’t look good. Having said that, this Erborian Colour Pen* – which is a lip stain in pen form, is different, I do like this one!! The shade I have is Hot Cherry, a mid-to-dark red that’s perfect for day or night and has the staying power of a good few hours. For example, I applied a coat on my lips this morning (at around 9am) and it lasted without fading until lunch time. The cute looking pen has a… View Post

When the weather turns grey after a week of glorious sunshine the one thing I know will keep me in a happy place, is a good old play with some of my favourite beauty products. A few weeks ago Pixi Beauty sent me the most gorgeous surprise package of nine (yes 9!) Rose-infused skincare treats. Some of them I’ve tried (and loved) before and some are new to me, and the range. Pixi Beauty’s beautiful Rose-infused collection is hydrating and ideal for most skin types, especially during the winder months when your skin is most at risk of being dehydrated. The products are kind and nourishing on the skin, locking-in moisture and leaving your complexion glowing with health and vitality. So lets get going with my Tuesday afternoon nine-step Rose-Infused Skintreat routine… Step 1: Remove makeup – with the Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths! These easy to use cleansing cloths quickly… View Post

It all started with a lip liner, a lip liner that created such a buzz that it quickly gained ‘cult’ status within the Charlotte Tilbury range. The pretty rose/dark nude shade was everywhere and very soon came the matching matte Pillow Talk lipstick. Applied together they made the perfect dark nude lip duo. The pretty Pillow Talk Collection has now added two new additions, including; a beautiful eye palette and a gorgeous blusher and highlighter duo. I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m a big fan of the Pillow Talk lipstick and that it’s one of my ultimate nudes, along with the lighter Nude Kate, which I prefer for day – and the darker Pillow Talk for a night out. Knowing that the Pillow Talk shade was a flattering nude (with pretty pink notes), I knew that the eye palette and blusher would be right up my street. And I was right! The very… View Post

The premium beauty industry have (for years) been fixated on beautiful, expensive packaging that looks good on our dressing table – and while I love luxurious packaging as much as the next beauty fan, if I can get the same ‘high end’ products at a fraction of the price, (without the fancy packaging) I’m definitely going to be interested! This is exactly what Beauty Pie are offering – luxury products at ‘factory cost’ prices. Beauty Pie is essentially a new twist on the monthly subscriptions model. Think of it like the Netflix of the beauty world – you pay a monthly fee, which then allows you to buy premium skincare, makeup and beauty accessories at a massively discounted price. For example, a foundation with a recommended retail price (or non-member price) of £30 would cost you around £6 or £7. The subscription allows you to buy up to £50 (£5… View Post
