Beauty Pie just keeps tempting with skincare and now we have Japanfusion, the range to boost the skin's hydration. Here are my initial thoughts.
Japanfusion is a 4 piece system, cleanser, hydra lotion, serum and cream, developed to give skin the optimum hydration, using anti-oxidants, de-stressing ingredients that also balance, brighten and soften the skin. Having already a drawer full of serums and moisturisers, I plumped for the cleanser and hydra prep lotion.
The Pure Transforming Cleanser is presented in a 100ml tube, pink in colour with a black spaced font that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The actual product is a white cream that I apply straight to my face, either morning or evening or both, it fits easily into my skincare routine. I blend for a minute and then add water, this transforms the texture into a milky makeup destroying cleanser, lifting away makeup and surface oils on the skin. I always use a cloth to remove the product, but you can splash this away from the face. The cleanser works at hydrating whilst cleaning the face, anti-oxidants inhibit the appearance of pigmentation areas, skin certainly looks brighter which counterbalances the dark areas most definitely. Vitamin E, grape extract and citrus fruit derivatives all work towards a protected, healthy, hydrated, smoother and brighter skin. I love the gentle texture of this cream cleanser, I have found it works best for me as part of my morning routine and I follow with the Hydra Prep. It cleans my skin leaving it fresh, smooth and bright, a great way to wake the skin up in the morning.
The next step in the range is the Hydra Prep Lotion, this is the powerhouse of the range, it balances and hydrates the skin but also prepares the skin to optimize the absorption of the skincare that follows. Like the cleanser this hydra prep has a quadruple yeast derivative that delivers moisture, it also suggests firmness is improved, in these cases I often find my skin is smoother but, I am cynical about being able to firm the skin, there may be a temporary lift but, I often think it's what I want to see, rather than it actually happening. However, I adore this pink-tinted bottle with the solution swishing within. It smells sweet, leaves no residue and grasps at the skincare applied after, my skin feels smoother when I use this and then follow with a serum or oil. I will certainly be tempted to try the rest of the range which all include ingredients that help lock in moisture thereby lessening the look of fine lines, add to these some skincare helping potions, Jabara extract from the Japanese citrus fruit, rich the Vitamin C and a great option if you have pigmentation, as I do. Delamyth, this comes from the peels of the Delaware grape, hopefully, the rest of the grape creates a lot of wine! which soothe the skin and fight free radicals. A pretty range, eye-catching, travel-friendly packaging and ultimately lovely skincare, so far, and I am aware it is early days, I am enjoying using and seeing the results, brighter skin, less dehydration.

Vee Beauty is exactly that, a lovely human who makes her own natural/organic beauty products. Vee's interest was in creating a range without the added chemicals, as she states on her website, we often use on average 12 personal care products a day, which combined can include an average of 168 chemicals. So, the journey began, creating a range that is chemical free. Now, we have Vee and her range which are 100% natural, something for everyone. No products are tested on animals and packaging is kept to the minimum, thereby respecting the environment. From single lip, hair and skincare items to hampers of products, there is a product for every member of the family and I was fortunate to be sent two from the range to try.
Let's talk cleansing first, show me a balm cleanser and I'll show you a drawer full of cloths to remove the said cleanser, I am always ready to try a balm and this was a delight in every possible way. Lavender and Lemon Cleansing Beauty Balm has a zesty scent and the lavender lingers behind, which I really loved, the freshness was uplifting. This balm to oil is seated in a cute 50g tin, my love for it means I will need, and that is a tremendous need, a considerably bigger tin. Once applied to the skin, the balm went to work on all my makeup, yes, mascara too, I don't wear waterproof, so, I can't give guidance on how effective it will be but the brand does state it will remove waterproof mascara and the darkest of lipsticks. Using beeswax, coconut and olive oil with shea butter, these work to soften the skin, lavender oil within this product is very subtle in its scent which I prefer, although I am always aware of it as I massage the balm into my skin and feel the worries of the day drift far away. The lemon oil is my favourite of all, it just makes me smile, the uplifting effect I am thankful for on my darkest days, it also aids brightness and radiance of the skin. Eucalyptus and Tea Tree oil aim to stop any pesky breakouts and keep skin as blemish free as possible. I totally adore this cleanser, it's easy to use, smells amazing, leaves my skin smooth and very clean, it also comes with its own cloth. Please note the website does recommend a skin test 48hrs before using this product. It is also NOT suitable for NUT allergy sufferers. It may be small, the brand is working on creating a bigger size, but, this cleansing balm is the answer to your cleansing dreams, perfect for a morning cleanse, even better, use it twice, yes, twice, double cleanse and feel how soft and smooth your skin is and how clean and bright it looks. Vee Beauty has my skin care routine all cleaned up, grab your tin today, you can thank me later.
Vee Beauty has a range of lovely natural handmade products, I will be featuring the hair oil at a later date.

This year has been good so far for my love of a decent wand and a glossy mascara consistency. When a surprise parcel landed from Maybelline, I was thrilled to see the Total Temptation New Launch mascara and brow definer. The mascara was everything I love, it certainly gave me a spring in my step.
Maybelline offers a pastel packaged mascara, there's a whole range that brings that feeling of Spring to your makeup bag. I rather like the peach toned packaging. This coconut enriched mascara is there to tempt the best of us with the promise of more volume, more length and a more conditioned feel and I can confirm that it is everything it suggests and more, I love it.
The formulation is creamy, it has a silky feel as it sweeps through the lashes, leaving great length and curl, they really are voluminous after two coats. With this particular mascara you can keep adding the product without waiting for the first coat to dry, just keep going until you reach your lash perfection. One coat gives the definition and a subtle lift, curl and volume to the lashes, a second coat is glorious, lashes are there for the admiring, so, the more you add the better it gets and they never feel dried out or stiff. With the added coconut, lashes are soft, flexible and fanned out.
For removal, this was very easy to work away from the lashes, I found my cleansing balm, easily lifted the product from the lashes, leaving no residue embedded in the lashes. A separate eye makeup remover I didn't need but, if it's part of your routine then it will easily dissolve the mascara away.
This is may have been a PR item, but, it will be one that I will buy, the wand, product consistency and results make it a must-have for my lashes. You can be tempted by the Total Temptation range at Superdrug and Boots, you won't regret it.

Skincare and Stationary, if L'Occitane and the Rifle Paper Company had also added a third collaboration with a cake company, well, that would have been all my Christmasses in one. However, this will do for me for now, two brands I love and how perfectly pretty is this limited edition range?
L'Occitane has long been a favourite purely for the glorious Verbena range, that has graced my bathroom for years. Add to that the Almond range, the body oil is made from pure angel wings I am sure, it is superb and smells amazing. Then there is the cherry blossom range, that's sweet, uplifting and makes everything better.
When you step over the threshold of L'Occitane, it is a feast of bright sunshine yellow, shea butter hand cream in two sizes, and a feast of scents, oils, gels, soaps and candles. There is definitely something to suit everyone and of course, the hand creams are the item that many will maybe have tried first from the brand, they are often a great addition to the monthly magazines on offer, the freebie we all look for.
My neglected hands I have often written about, I do so well and then, well, I don't, so, the shea hand cream has certainly arrived at the right time. Joining my Rifle designed packaged hand cream in a tin that just looks too pretty to not use in every photo I will now take throughout 2018, are two delicate pretty pots of the body cream and scrub, perfect to take for a weekend away and equally perfect to give your bedside table that Pinterest feel.
Limited editions often sell out fast, so if skincare, stationery, packaging and let's be honest, tins, who doesn't love a pretty tin are your thing, find the range in store or online at L'Occitane, all beautifully packaged, this set includes a selection of Rifle prints.
If you love Rifle Paper the Amercian website does post to the UK or you can find a selection of the range at Papermash, which is a UK site.
