While announcing this new exclusive ride, we can't help but go back to 2001, when we started going on long distance rides to regions on which very little or no information was available. Navigation was through whatever maps were available, by asking the locals and sometimes instinct.

Out of many such rides till now, what still tops our list is Changthang, a 30,000 sq kilometers of vast desert expanse in Ladakh, North India running along the China border. Changthang was so remote, wild, stunningly beautiful and desolate, that it inspired us to make our first award-winning motorcycle documentary film "Riding solo to the top of the World" in 2004. Once motorcyclists around the world saw the film, they wrote to us wishing to visit the place and that is how Ride of My Life was born.

So here it goes, announcing an exclusive ride to the wild Changthang, where very few people and zero tour companies go. Only one ride per year and limited to only 10 riders. Navigating through this wild and unmarked terrain needs a lot of experience, local knowledge, and contacts, especially when you are riding in the middle of nowhere with China and it's border posts in plain sight and through the historic battlefields of India- China War in 1962.

Having visited Changthang several times solo and have lived there for one year at a go. Gaurav Jani, almost got a lawsuit against him from the government for visiting areas in Changthang, where no outsiders had gone before, got arrested by the Border Patrol and warned about Chinese firing bullets at him, so in a quirky way, he knows the place well and he will lead this bare bone adventure ride designed only for riders who want to experience a minimalistic way of travel and see a part of India nobody visits.

Changthang is also home to Chang pa nomads, who wander from one grassland to another with their flock of sheep, goats, and Yaks. An integral part of this ride is to go back in the past by living, camping or staying with Chang pa nomads in their homes or grasslands, learn from the tribe which lives at the highest altitude used by mankind in the World. Part of the proceedings from the tour will be donated to agencies working for better lives of Chang pa nomads and also to the Clean Changthang Campaign.

Here is the trailer of our film Riding solo to the top of the World, it will give you a fair idea on what's in store for you on this ride.

Tour dates: 6th to 14th August - 9 days. Tour starts and ends in Leh.

Tour cost: for Rider Rs 79,990/- Sorry, no pillions allowed on this ride.

Please note, As this tour runs along the China border, admission is restricted to Indian Nationals only. We know it is a bummer but can't bypass government rules.

If you wish to be part of this unique ride, write to us at info@rideofmylife.in or call at +91 94087 15641 or +91 98688 77479 for more details.

After catering to more than 300 satisfied riders in 2016, we have a bigger platter of rides for motorcyclists hungry for adventure and off-beat travel in 2017.

Along with a bit of a vertigo, we are excited to announce our latest tour - A ride to Pangi Valley, which is dubbed as the most dangerous road to ride in the world. The tour is surely a religious experience for riders looking for a very unique off road experience and adrenaline pumping adventure. Dates and details here.

We have also tweaked the ride flows of our popular Ladakh and Spiti rides. The new routes evolve from our constant endeavour to give you the best ride experience. If you have already done Ladakh and still have a Himalayan hang over, a ride to Spiti would be a perfect fix.

Himalayan reminds us of another exciting update - we will have a brand new fleet of the recently-launched dual-sport motorcycle - the Royal Enfield Himalayan for select tours in 2017.

Having spoilt you for choices, let us know which experience you are looking forward to. As always, we look forward to riding with you.

As the song goes, "big wheels keep on turning...". Ours are, for sure. And hopefully in the right direction too, mapping out new rides that offer a unique and unforgettable experience. So here it goes - Announcing motorcycle tours to two new breathtaking regions of India.

First, the ride to Spiti Valley. A lesser known and lesser visited region of the Himalayas, Spiti offers all that most riders want from a ride: high altitude mountain roads, lots of stream crossings, mesmerizing Himalayan landscapes and great local culture. Cut off from the mainland for around 6 months a year, Spiti is home to the oldest Buddhist monasteries in India. This 11-day ride is packed with adventure riding in the Himalayas and is much tougher than our Ladakh ride. This ride is a must if you have ridden in Ladakh and are still suffering from a Himalayan hangover. Check out our motorcycle tour to Spiti.

Our second ride and our only one away from the Himalayas is in the Great Indian Desert. The "Land of Kings", Rajasthan, is famous around the world for its rich and colorful history. Massive forts, splendid palaces, historical temples all make a ride in Rajasthan an out of the world experience. But that's not it - on this 12-day tour, you experience tiger & leopard safaris, rides on dry salt lakes and even a river crossing with your motorcycle on a boat through a crocodile sanctuary! Choose this tour to come face to face with amazing history, wildlife, architecture, dry salt lakes and smooth roads. Check out our motorcycle tour to Rajasthan.

We also got our lazy selves to edit and upload a few of the many testimonials videos from our Ladakh rides last year. If you are still on the fence about riding to Ladakh with us, these might help.

Apart from the new rides, how can we forget our absolute favorites: our 14-day tour to beautiful Bhutan and our 14-day expedition ride to amazing Arunachal Pradesh.

Now with 5 unique motorcycle tours, haven't we spoilt you for choice? See you soon on our rides :)

To begin with, Happy 2016! Cheers to the new year and to new beginnings. We at Ride of My Life are excited about 2016, as the tour to Bhutan we announced last year now rolls out yearly.

A guiding principle for Ride of My Life has been to only do tours where we as motorcyclists are convinced that after completing a tour, a rider will go back home saying that "this was the ride of my life!". Bhutan does that and much more. The curvy mountain roads, beautiful valleys, picturesque landscape, unique Bhutanese architecture, local cuisine and most importantly, the down to earth and friendly locals make every traveller feel warm and fuzzy at the end of his/her journey in this magical land.

In line with its national policy of reducing the overall impact on its environment, Bhutan limits the number of tourists entering the country. This makes Bhutan an expensive country to travel in as anything to do with tourism is heavily taxed. From our extensive travels there we have conjured up tours that are economical and fun for both Indians and non-Indians. Since Bhutan has different formalities for each, we have designed two separate tours - one for Indian citizens and another for non-Indian citizens.

If you are on the fence, we do have other options for you to consider. Tours to Ladakh in North India - that remain extremely popular and are fast filling up - and One Crazy Ride, our expedition-grade tour to North-East India. Do let us know the road you wish to take in 2016.

If you are wondering what Kuzu Zampola means, it is "Hello" in Bhutanese. We've also picked up some colorful language from there. More on that when we ride together ;-)

In spite of very many emails inquiring about our 2016 motorcycle tours to Ladakh, we took our time to perfect the ride flows. To be honest, there was a bit of laziness involved too. Both old habits that die hard.

In 2015, we did 13 tours to Ladakh and every single tour ran on schedule. To live up to the same standard, we've tweaked our 2016 tours, focusing on the most important element - ride experience. Our budget tours now range from 7 to 16 days between June and September 2016. International riders continue to prefer our 14-day luxury tours to Ladakh, in which we offer an all-inclusive experience and route not found in any of our budget tours.

And this time around we have a new tour in which you ride your own sweetheart - we mean your motorcycle! You take care of the riding bit and we take care of everything else.

But what we really shine at are the custom and exclusive tours. If you're looking for really unique experiences where we work to realize your dreams, get in touch.

Check out our 2016 motorcycle tours to Ladakh. But if you need the ultimate adrenaline shot on two wheels, our tour to Arunachal Pradesh in December 2015 is still on.

Happy Holidays from team Ride of My Life!

PS: We will be announcing our Bhutan motorcycle tours for April and May 2016 soon. Stay tuned!

Our last tour to Arunachal was supposed to be our last, but it does seem like a shame to let go of such an amazing and unique experience. Trust us, you don’t want to miss the adventure that Arunachal offers. Where else would you get to ride across hanging bridges, ferry the motorcycle through mighty rivers, ride across vast river beds, pass through dense jungles, ride on the mighty Himalayas and live with indigenous tribes? All within the span of 2 weeks? Bring in the new year on a high note. Ride with us to Arunachal.

This video by Wango, one of the riders on our last tour, sums it all up beautifully!

Our last blog post about Arunachal’s transformation resulted in a lot of inquiries from Indian adventure motorcylists who wished to do One Crazy Ride on their own motorcycle. Especially from people looking to share the thrill of adventurous Arunachal with their riding buddies before it’s lost to the inevitable march of “progress”.

As motorcyclists first and foremost, we want the riding community to experience the hanging bridges, dry river beds, majestic mountains, dense jungles, stream crossings and the amazing people that most uniquely defines Arunachal Pradesh before it’s too late.

With that in mind, we’ve designed a one-time-only special budget tour for motorcyclists wanting to ride to this last frontier on their own motorcycles. We’re calling it “The Last Crazy Ride”. This is our invite to all the crazy adventurers who would love to rough it out on an adventure of a lifetime! Let’s go tip our helmets to the simplicity and the humility of the people from a land that time forgot.

The magic makes way for the mundane

Next year onwards, “One Crazy Ride” won’t exist.

Why? To put it simply – because there won’t be anything “crazy” left to do in Arunachal.

The star attraction of the tour, the hanging bridges, will be replaced by sturdier bridges capable of supporting even trucks. The dry riverbeds and jaw-dropping river crossings that provide miles of smiles will not even be noticed as you ride above them on a strong concrete bridge. The “Land lost in time” is being given an infrastructural overhaul, bringing much needed ease to the lives of the locals.

The adventure is being replaced by the mundane, taking away the craziness that’s the hallmark of our “One Crazy Ride”. Without the hanging bridges and the dry river beds & river crossings, there’s no reason for us to have a tour to Arunachal Pradesh.

So if you’ve been wanting to do this ride of a lifetime, this is actually your last chance. It’s either this December or never. Your call.

One Crazy Ride – December 21 to January 3
