Grounding is important for everyone, but especially for those people involved in spiritual or creative pursuits. Grounding is the process by which you pull back all the thoughts and energy from your mind and re-establish your foundation firmly here on Earth. This benefits you not only spiritually and mentally, improving your focus, sense of calm, and reducing anxiety, but also physically. Grounding or earthing has been shown to reduce inflammation and pain, improve sleep, boost self-healing mechanisms, and more.

When you are not grounded, you may feel very out of it or disconnected from yourself. You might experience confusion, anxiety, restlessness, or just feeling very “airy fairy”. Nothing really clicks and you feel like you are just floating through life. When you feel this way, you know you need to reconnect to your roots here on Earth and ground down.

There are many great methods for grounding down, such as walking barefoot outside, meditating, gardening, or hugging trees, but you can also use crystals to help in this process. You can hold a crystal in your hand and release all unwanted energies down through your body and into the stone. Since these stones are already grounded, they are prepared to receive these energies. Once you’re done, you can cleanse your crystal by placing it on some dirt or on a plant, saging it, or leaving it in a dish of sea salt overnight. You can charge it up again by setting it out in moonlight (full moon is best).

Top Crystals for Grounding:

It can also protect your home or space by placing it in the corners of a room or property. This stone can help you organize your hectic thoughts, counteract spaciness and confusion, and find mental clarity in your daily life. Physically, Hematite helps with blood disorders, insomnia, nervous disorders, and spinal alignment. It is also an excellent stone for relieving anxiety and boost self-confidence.

Today, this stone is used to stimulate chi, bringing strength, vitality, stamina, focus, and determination. Red Jasper makes a great grounding stone thanks to its deep connection to the Earth. Wearing or carrying this stone can alleviate stress, strengthen the aura, and eliminate negativity. In addition, this is a passionate red stone that helps to balance the ideas and beliefs regarding sexual expression. This stone also protects the home or work environment against bad moods, resentments, and hostility. It can help you manifest your goals in both your personal and work lives. Many people are aware of the healing, protective, and channeling abilities of crystals and stones and the power of using them in our every day lives. But did you know that combining crystals in sacred geometric patterns, along with setting specific intentions, can supercharge and boost their abilities significantly?

It’s no secret that crystals carry specific, purposeful energies that affect many different emotions, physical properties, and circumstances. By using crystal grids, you can combine, focus, and amplify those energies to greatly expand their abilities in wonderful and highly effective ways.

Crystal and stone grids come in many shapes and designs, but one of the most commonly used is called the Flower of Life pattern. In sacred geometry, the eight circles used in the Flower of Life pattern symbolize the basis for creation and the beginning of everything. Using this foundation, you are able to create any energy you need with this grid pattern and the crystals of your choice.

Crystal grids are a powerful asset for any spiritual work and once you know what they are all about, you can use your creativity and intuition to create the grids most useful and beneficial for your life.

How do they work?

Crystal grids are extremely simple to put together. You will need a few components:

  • Grid – A pre-printed, hand-drawn, or a board imprinted with the Flower of Life pattern
  • Center stone – The center stone on the board which is used to gather, focus, and amplify the universal life force energy. You can use any stone you like as the focus stone, but it should be one you feel emotionally drawn or connected to. I like to use clear quartz for its amplification properties, but many people use clusters, points, or other tumbled stones as their center stone.
  • Additional stones – Based on the specific final purpose of the grid, these are the stones you would use alone for a specific purpose (but are better used in combination with the other stones for the most powerful effect). There are countless combinations of stones to use, but keep in mind that not all crystal energies mesh well together. The best way to find out what works for you is to start simple and try out some combinations that you are drawn to. Trust your intuition!
  • Additional elements – For many intentions, it is helpful to use a photo of the person, place, or object that will be the focus of the grid. On a prosperity or wealth board, it is beneficial to add money, coins, or the objects you are looking to acquire.

There are countless types of grids you can create to serve a variety of purposes. Here are some popular examples of crystal grid patterns to serve specific energies:

  • Love & Romance Grid
  • Meditation Grid
  • Prosperity & Abundance Grid
  • Boost Energy Grid
  • Self-Love Grid
  • Creativity Grid
  • Banish Anxiety Grid
  • Chakra Balancing Grid
  • Physical Comfort Grid
  • Relaxation Grid
  • Positivity Grid
  • Space Clearing Grid

How to start a crystal grid:

Cleanse your stones: Before you begin building your grid pattern, you should cleanse your stones of any residual energy. Stones can pick up energy from a variety of places and you don’t want these unknown energies involved in your grid. There are many ways to cleanse your stones, but some simple options are salt, sage, water, burial, or visualization. You can learn more about these methods in depth here: (link)

Set your intention: You will charge the stones up with your clear intention, so be sure of what it is you would like your grid to help you accomplish. You can set a simple intention for yourself, such as better sleep or relaxation, or you can set a larger intention, such as world peace. Whatever yours is, decide on it and then write it down so you can be reminded of your goal. Then, as you place each stone onto your grid, visualize your intention coming to life or say it out loud.

Set up your grid: Setting up a crystal grid can and should be a very relaxing and positive experience. You can trust your intuition to guide you or you can use templates and examples to get started. First, you will want to decide where in your home or workspace you’d like to place the grid. Next, add your center stone and then work your way outwards, adding the next stones until your grid is complete.

Activate your grid: When your stones are cleansed and charged and your grid is assembled, now it is time to activate it! If you know Reiki, you can use this energy to activate the crystal energies. You can also take a crystal point or your pointed finger to trace a path from the center stone to the other crystals and back. Keep your intention at the top of your mind during this process to ensure the grid is activated and charged up for your specific purpose!

Next steps:

Once your crystal grid is set up and activated, you should leave it for a set amount of time (24 hours at the bare minimum). Once a week or so, cleanse your crystals and re-charge them with your intention. When you are ready to deactivate your grid, simple take it apart and cleanse your stones and board before beginning again.

Crystals, stones, and rocks hold amazing abilities that, when used in combination, become even more powerful. The potential for crystal grids is limitless! Have fun experimenting with grids of your own!

You are not just a physical being here on Earth. Every single one of us is an energetic being as well. As such, we all come complete with not just our physical form, but also our soul form and our etheric body.

The etheric body is the name given to the lowest level in the human energetic field or "aura". This is the part of our aura closest to our physical body which allows us to connect to our higher selves.

Throughout the day, we connect with many other spiritual beings. Every time we connect with something - people, animals, nature, etc. - an energetic exchange takes place. In healthy, loving relationships, there is an even exchange, a flow of give and take between two parties.

The way this energy exchange takes place is through etheric (or energetic) cords. You can imagine these cords as tubes through which energy flows from chakra to chakra. These cords grow thicker and stronger with each meaningful interaction you have. So, the strongest cords are often with spouses, parents, siblings, children, and close friends.

Many times, these cords can become a drain on your physical, spiritual, and emotional energy. You may not understand why, after interacting with certain people, you feel tired, lethargic, foggy, or downright depressed. When your close friends or family are down in their own lives and there is a cord between you, you can do everything right, and your energy will still be drained.

For my teachers, counselors, nurses, and empaths out there, due to your helping nature, you may have many cords at any given time. It's especially important that you take the time to cut them frequently. Cutting etheric cords does not mean you are diminishing or harming the good parts of your relationships. All it serves to do is remove the unhealthy, fear-based drain of energy from either or both sides.

When you cut the cords in your life, your energy becomes yours again. You may not have noticed the drain on your energy, but you will certainly notice how much energy you gain when you remove them!

Cutting Cords Ritual

You can cut these cords yourself with little effort. It's all about your intention. If you find that you are not able to cut your energetic cords, you may be experiencing what are known as 'hooks'. Hooks create a stronger drain of energy from the recipient, who is rarely able to remove the hook from his/her etheric body. Much of the time, these hooks are placed subconsciously, so you can't really blame the person who has hooked you, but in this case, it is best to visit a professional who is experienced in removing these sort of negative connections.

To begin cutting your cords, find a quiet place where you can meditate and complete this ritual undisturbed. Start by meditating and asking your Spirit Guides and Angels to reveal your cords to you. You may or may not be able to see or feel where your cords are connected and draining energy from you. You do not need to see the cords or know who they are from for this ritual to work effectively.

When you’re ready, call on Archangel Michael or use the power of your intention to cut yourself free from the harmful cords in your life. Michael carries a sword of pure light that is able to cut these negative attachments. Simply call on him and ask him to cut the cords that are draining you or no longer serving your highest good.

Alternatively, you can visualize yourself cutting the cords and even physically wave your hands over your body and aura to "cut" the cords with the sword of light. The most important part here is your intention!

Visualize the cords being cut and falling away from your body. As you do this, reaffirm your intention to remove all fear and negativity-based connections from your etheric body and life. Even if you are not able to visualize the cords being removed, be assured that they are.

When you're finished with this exercise, you can sage, take a salt bath, or wash your hands in cold water to remove any fragments of these attachments from yourself.

Cords are created when you cling to someone or something out of a fear-based mindset. Going forward, you can prevent these cords from attaching and growing by cultivating a spirit of non-attachment to the people, ideas, opinions, and material objects in your life. Life is all about change and how you react to it!

Crystals, stones, and rocks can be extremely powerful tools to help you stay grounded, tap into your intuition, or manifest your dreams. It all depends what you intend to use them for! But before you can take full advantage of them, you will want to cleanse and charge them first.

Whether you just picked up some new crystals or you have been using yours for years, it is always a good idea to cleanse them of any residual or negative energies they may have picked up. Crystals, rocks, and stones are able to pick up vibrations from not only you, but other people and environments that you interact with. Just like you clean your home, car, and yourself, you should cleanse your crystals to keep them as positive and effective as possible.

There are several methods you can use to cleanse your crystals, including:

1. Salt: You may have taken a salt bath before to detox and cleanse yourself of negative energies and emotions. Your rocks enjoy the same treatment! Salt is a very effective cleanser when used dry or with water, but it can be a harsh treatment, so be careful with more delicate stones. To use this method, bury your rocks in a bowl full of dry salt overnight (sea salt works best) and then rinse to remove any leftover salt residue. Be sure to throw this salt away as it will have absorbed the negative energies you are trying to get rid of! You can also soak your crystals in a bowl full of salt water for at least one hour and then rinse. Avoid using this method on porous stones or those containing metals (including hematite, lapis lazuli, opal, or pyrite).

2. Sage:Smudging your stones works just as effectively on them as it does your house, pets, and yourself. You can use sage, sweetgrass, or palo santo wood to achieve this method, but a sage stick is probably your easiest bet. To cleanse your stones by smudging, fan the smoke over your crystals with a feather and ask that God, Angels, and your Spirit Guides remove any energy from your stones that does not serve you. This method is ideal for those stones that cannot be soaked in salt water or salt.

3. Water: Water is nature’s finest cleanser and it works wonders for your stones. Just be sure and research first to find out if your rocks can be soaked or rinsed. Stones like selenite are salt-based and will quickly disintegrate if left soaking for long periods. You can use water to cleanse your stones in many different ways. First, you can simply rinse them off. Second, you can leave them for a bath in ocean water, spring water, lake water, or filtered water, whatever is available to you. Water cleansing can be combined with salt cleansing by adding a few tablespoons of sea salt to the water. You can also leave the jar or bowl of water in the sun to add another boost to your cleansing ritual.

4. Burying them: Since crystals come from the Earth, a great way to cleanse them is to leave them with Mother Earth for a while. The burial method is ideal for grounding stones, such as black tourmaline, hematite, red jasper, and more. You can either bury them straight in the dirt or wrap them in a cloth and bury the bundle a few inches down. Try to find an area that has not been tainted by fertilizers or chemicals. Be sure to remember where you buried them so you can find them again! If you do not have access to a yard or a place to bury them, you can also leave them on a plant for a while. Leave them overnight and then rinse to remove any dirt.

5. Visualization: If you are in tune with your higher self, you can use visualization and the power of intention to call upon cleansing white light to clear your crystals. Simply focus on the stone and ask spirit to create a white light, feeling it forming in your body. Then use your hands to direct the light over and through your stones to clear and remove any unwanted energy. Repeat this step until you feel intuitively that they are cleansed. You can also use this white light to clear your own energy. This is the quickest and easiest method for cleansing your stones.

No single method is better than another, so I recommend you use the ones that feel right to you! You can also combine methods as you see fit.

Once you have cleared the unwanted energies from your crystals, you can set your intentions to charge and program them. Putting intention into your rocks activates them and lets them know exactly what you want to use them for, whether it’s healing, meditation, or manifestation!

1. Moonlight/Sunlight: Both sunlight and moonlight are very energizing and can be used to both cleanse and charge your crystals. I like to leave my crystals out in direct moonlight during every full moon, but this method will also work any other night, although not quite as effectively. Sunlight recharges crystals as well. The time it needs to soak in the sun varies from stone to stone, so research each one to see the specifics. You can also use a pendulum or your intuition to check if it is charged enough. Be careful with certain stones such as amethyst, as they will fade in direct sunlight.

2. Other crystals: Some crystals such as quartz and selenite are naturally energizing to other stones. Set your crystals on a large piece of quartz, selenite, amethyst, or carnelian for 24 hours or until they feel energized. You can also use them in a crystal grid or cluster format. Make sure to cleanse your charging crystals when you are finished to keep them clear and effective as well.

3. Physical touch: The easiest and most common method of charging stones is to roll them around in your hands and set your intention. In this way, the crystals absorb your natural energy and become connected to you and your thoughts. Some people do not let others touch their crystals as they are concerned about absorbing their energies, but I just make sure and cleanse them regularly to avoid this.

4. Plants: Not only can you use dirt and plants to cleanse your stones, but to charge them as well. Place your crystals in a live, healthy plant for 24 hours to charge them with vibrant growth energies. The other method would be to bury them for up to 24 hours by themselves or wrapped in a cloth. Be sure to rinse them after using either method to remove any leftover dirt.

5. Sound/Reiki: Using sound or Reiki are very effective ways to charge your crystals with positive energy. If you practice Reiki, simply focus your energy and hold your hands over the stones you would like to energize. To use sound to charge your crystals, you can use tuning forks if you have them. Each frequency can achieve a different effect in terms of the energy infused into the stone. If you don’t have tuning forks, you can also use a bell, singing bowl, or high-frequency music for the same result.

Depending on how frequently and for what purpose you use your crystals, you will need to cleanse and charge them more often. Try out the different methods to see what works best for you! To find crystals, sage, salt, and more, visit my products page or call the office today! Learn more >>

When you’re first dipping your toe into the world of crystals, rocks, and stones, it can seem overwhelming. Which ones are right for your particular needs? How do you know if you are making the right choice? When choosing crystals, I always recommend you go with your gut feelings. If you’re feeling drawn to a particular stone or color of stone, that means you need it!

Here are nine stones (in no particular order) that I recommend for beginners because they meet a variety of common needs:

9. Black Tourmaline: When you’re undergoing a spiritual journey, it’s important to stay grounded and connected to your physical self and earth. I highly recommend you carry a piece of black tourmaline in your right pocket, as this powerful stone protects against negative energies of all kinds. This is a great stone to keep with you during meditation, and it helps to remove negativity, self-doubt, and anxiety that can otherwise throw a wrench in your day. Putting it underneath your pillow helps to protect you while you sleep, and giving them to your kiddos before school allows them to stay grounded and focused throughout the day.

8. Clear Quartz: Quartz crystals are the most common type of crystals in the world, but they are anything but ordinary. All quartz crystals have a high vibration, but clear quartz stands out for its high amplifying qualities, allowing it to amplify both your energy and the energies of other crystals. Clear quartz is known as the ‘master healer’ thanks to its ability to absorb and neutralize negative energies. This is a great stone for any beginner’s toolkit, helping to connect you to spirit and the higher chakras.

7. Rose Quartz: The crystal of unconditional love, rose quartz emits a powerful feminine energy. Carrying rose quartz will not only benefit your personal relationships, but it will help you tap into the self-love you have been looking for. This stone resonates with the heart chakra and allows you to finally heal those emotional wounds, let go of fear, and find compassion for others and yourself. Rose quartz is best worn on the body, close to the heart.

6. Amethyst: Another member of the quartz family, amethyst is a meditative and calming stone which helps to bring balance and peace to your life. This is a perfect one to carry along with you during meditation as it can help you reach a higher level of consciousness. It was even known in ancient times as the sobriety stone for its special virtue of preventing drunkenness and overindulgence in vices such as drinking and smoking. Amethyst is great for increasing psychic abilities as well as lucid dreaming.

5. Citrine: The ‘stone of success’, citrine is associated with abundance, manifestation, and personal power. This stone has a joyful, bright energy and is said to carry the power of the sun. Citrine resonates with the solar plexus chakra and is especially beneficial for people who work in sales, education, or any of the healing arts. This is one of a few stones that can ground and dissipate negative energy without holding onto it, so it does not ever need to be cleansed. Carrying a citrine can help you gain confidence and protects against those who would wish you harm.

4. Lapis Lazuli: A beautiful blue stone, lapis lazuli has been one of the most sought-after stones throughout history. This stone resonates with the third eye chakra and brings about a vibration of truth and enlightenment. Lapis lazuli is known to relieve anger and frustration, intensify intuition and psychic abilities, and activate your pineal gland. It resonates with the energy of your inner king or queen and helps you to balance the masculine and feminine aspects of your personality. Not to mention, it makes gorgeous jewelry!

3. Hematite: Hematite is a perfect grounding and protection stone, but it is so much more than that. This stone helps to stimulate the mind and is associated with enhanced memory and deep thought. It can help you gain self-confidence, self-esteem, and even improved willpower. As a grounding stone that resonates with the root chakra, hematite also helps with relieving physical pain. As a protection stone, hematite can help you guard your aura while you are tapped into your higher chakras.

2. Carnelian: The ‘stone of action’, carnelian carries a bold, masculine energy that is associated with the sacral chakra. This bright orange stone helps to accelerate motivation, aids the physical body and especially blood, and helps you to finally start on that new path in life. Carnelian is also known for stimulating sexual energies, and also resonates with the root and solar plexus chakras. Its energy inspires confidence, courage, and creativity.

1. Selenite: With its beautiful pearlescent appearance and soft, fragile texture, selenite is a unique high-vibration stone that will help you connect with the spirit and angel realms. This stone directly effects your emotional and spiritual states as it brings light down from the higher realms to cleanse your aura, open your chakras, and amplify psychic abilities. You can use selenite while meditating to ease anxiety or stress. Just be sure to keep it dry, as it will dissolve in water!

There you have it! Remember, trust your gut when choosing crystals for yourself and others. Crystals and stones are a great addition to your spiritual journey. Good luck, and have fun!

Well, here we go again! Mercury Retrograde starts tomorrow and lasts for the next three weeks, so this time around, I wanted to focus on what positive benefits we can take advantage of! It’s the perfect time to tap into that right-brain, creative side of yourself and really take a good hard look at all the pieces on your chessboard! Here’s what we can look forward to:

1.     Your creativity will skyrocket: If you’ve been going through a creative dry spell, now is the time to turn that around! This is a great opportunity to learn how to meditate, start that project you’ve been putting off, or make some art! This is also a perfect time to work on your spiritual side, learn something new, pick up those books collecting dust on the shelf, listen to music, and leave the logic in the back seat (for now).

2.     Time to remodel, redecorate, review, and organize: Now is the time to set a budget, reevaluate your home, job, or relationship situation – reminder that you don’t want to sign any contracts or make big commitments during Mercury Retrograde, but you CAN start to organize and set goals for when it turns direct again – redecorate, or start a remodeling project! Again, you can harness your creativity and cross some to-dos off your list, win-win!

3.     Figure out solutions: As we transition to a new season, take this opportunity to sit down with your problems and come up with the solutions you have been missing. Meditation will be your best tool in this, but be sure to listen to your gut and not your head! If you have been unsure of the next step on your path, it should become much clearer within the next few weeks.

4.     People from your past will resurface: This can normally be a downside to Mercury Retrograde, when people from your past start creeping into your present. But this can represent an incomplete lesson in your life that needs finishing, so be grateful for the chance to find closure and lay your past grudges and resentments to rest! This way, you can clear up your mind and life for what is ahead!

5.     Find your lost stuff: As your intuition picks up during this time period, you will suddenly know exactly where to look for that lost sweater or family heirloom that has been missing for months or years! Spirit has a way of answering our requests, so just ask and you shall receive!

Remember, until Mercury turns direct again on September 22nd, keep it positive, don’t sweat the small stuff or the negatives, and go with the flow! You’ll be able to get through it with the right attitude, and you may even come out better off than you were before!

Falling, flying, showing up naked to school or work; everyone has had strange dreams at one time or another. But what are the meanings behind them? Some dreams are very straightforward and some need a little more interpretation. Luckily, since so many of us share the same common dreams, we can learn what messages they are trying to convey.

10 Common Dream Symbols and Their Meanings

Falling: Having a feeling of falling while dreaming is very common and can represent a sense of letting go, failure, or loss of control. This does not need to be a negative thing, though, as this can stand for letting go of people, places, and things that no longer serve your highest good.

Being Chased: Many people remember their dreams in which they are being chased, simply because the anxiety produced by these dreams is so vivid and memorable. This is a very common dream symbol that represents running from something in your life or avoiding something that you are too afraid to face in your waking life. These dreams are very beneficial because they show us what we need to address in order to move forward.

Water: Dreams that feature water elements are a reflection of the unconscious mind and our emotional state. The quality of the water – calm, choppy, clear, cloudy, cold, hot, etc. – can provide more insight into the true state of your emotions. Dreaming of drowning symbolizes emotional stress or the fear of being overcome by emotion.

Teeth: Teeth falling out is, surprisingly, a very common theme. This reflects anxiety you may have about your appearance or general self-confidence issues. Anxiety can manifest into teeth-grinding at night and this may show up in your dreams. Some also suggest that dreaming about your teeth means you actually need to visit the dentist.

Nudity: Who hasn’t had this dream once in their life? Showing up to a public place stark naked typically symbolizes a feeling of vulnerability and being exposed to others. If you notice a specific body part is being exposed, this can help you understand what you are feeling vulnerable about and start to work on this in your waking life.

Flying: The feeling of flying in a dream can be extremely euphoric and freeing. This can represent a sense of control over your life and experiences. On the other hand, trying to fly and being restricted or tethered to the ground can be very frustrating and indicates that you need to break free of something that is holding you back in your life.

Death: Dreams involving death, especially that of a loved one or yourself, can be very distressing, but typically symbolize an ending and/or a new beginning. With death always comes birth or rebirth, so try to see this as a positive symbol, rather than something to fear.

Sex: Dreams about sex can represent a literal desire for sex or intimacy, or they can symbolize much more, depending on the nature of the sexual encounter. For instance, is your partner in the dream your partner in your waking life? An ex? Someone of the same sex? Is the act itself passionate? Boring? Wild? These factors can indicate aspects of your life or yourself that you wish to express.

Paralysis: Feeling paralyzed or trapped in a dream can be unnerving, but keep in mind that in the state of REM sleep, your body is actually physically immobilized. This can translate to your dream world and cause an intense feeling of not being paralyzed. This can also represent a feeling of lack of control or helplessness in your waking life.

Nightmares: Beyond common stressful dream symbols, some people experience debilitating nightmares or night terrors. This can usually be tied to extreme stress or emotional trauma in their waking lives. Some nightmares are also recurring, so it is suggested that people who experience this try to keep a dream journal to record as much as they can as soon as they wake up. Then, they can try to interpret what the symbols in their nightmares represent.

These are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of dream symbology! To learn about other common dream symbols, there are a ton of great free web resources available. My favorite is www.dreammoods.com, where you can type in a word or a phrase that describes your dream to find detailed interpretations about what it could possibly mean! From there, you must interpret the dream according to your own unique situations. Once you become more aware of your dreams and actually realize you are dreaming, you may be able to achieve a state of lucid dreaming, where you can control your dream world.

We all have chakras, spiritual centers in the body through which energy flows. There are commonly thought to be seven of them and they are positioned throughout the body from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each chakra has a unique frequency, color, and purpose for spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Here’s a brief overview of each chakra:

Root – Located at the base of the spine; deals with feelings of safety and grounding; lays the foundation for many other chakras; denoted by the color red
Sacral – Located in the lower abdomen, about two inches below the navel; deals with connection to others, new experiences, sexuality, and trust; denoted by the color orange
Solar Plexus – Located in the upper abdomen, right below the breastbone; deals with confidence, self-worth, self-esteem, and being in control of our lives; denoted by the color yellow
Heart – Located in the center of the chest; deals with the ability to love and be loved; denoted by the color green
Throat – Located in the center of the throat; deals with the ability to communicate, express ourselves, and speak the truth; denoted by the color blue
Third Eye – Located in between the eyes on the forehead; deals with intuition, imagination, wisdom, and the ability to make decisions; denoted by the color indigo
Crown – Located at the very top of the head; this highest chakra deals with connection to spirit, inner and outer beauty, and pure bliss; denoted by the color violet, gold, or white

Blocked energy in chakras can lead to lower energy, decreased motivation, unhappiness, and even illness. So how do you keep your chakras balanced? There are so many different ways, from listening to certain music to wearing specific colors. But did you know you can actually EAT in a way that helps your chakras stay regulated? Here are some of my favorites:

EATING WELL FOR YOUR CHAKRAS
ROOT – Root vegetables, beets, berries, teas made with roots (dandelion, etc.), tomatoes, cherries, pomegranate, anything that grows in the ground is perfect for grounding
SACRAL – Sweet potato, carrots, pumpkin, orange peppers, peaches, mango, nectarines, aphrodisiacs like oysters, chocolate, cinnamon, honey, and peppers
SOLAR PLEXUS – Lemons, pineapple, yellow peppers, squash, corn, yellow tomatoes, rutabagas, turnips, fiber-rich, balanced carbohydrates for your lower (masculine) 3 chakras
HEART – Eat your greens! Kale, spinach, lettuce, kiwis, green apples, asparagus, broccoli, limes, pears, celery, cucumber, honeydew, green grapes, or avocado!
THROAT – Blueberries, all blue/purple foods, as well as liquids to keep your throat clear and cleansed: herbal tea, berry juice, and lots of water (stay hydrated)!
THIRD EYE – Eat alkaline foods to reverse the calcification of the pineal gland! Berries, eggplant, beets, kidney beans, purple potatoes, plums, cabbage, red grapes
CROWN  Focus more on your spiritual connection, eat mindfully (no TV or tablets during dinner) and choose light, nutritious foods to feed your mind/body connection.

When in doubt, the more natural, the better! Feel free to cook these foods how you like, but keeping raw foods as raw as possible preserves their nutritional content so you can get the most bang for your buck.
