Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement last year, their wedding is the event that the world has been talking about and, like most of the world, we couldn’t wait to see the wedding day unfold….
Kensington Palace had already confirmed that the super talented Philippa Craddock had been chosen as the royal wedding florist and Claire Ptak of Violet Bakery in London had been named as the wedding cake designer. The wedding invitations were printed by London stationery company, Barnard & Westwood and invited guests to St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, to celebrate the Royal wedding on 19th May 2018 and like millions of others, we loved every minute of it!
Here are some of our favourite elements of the day:
WEDDING DRESS: The question on everyone’s lips was “what will Meghan wear?”… and she did not disappoint. Like many brides, Meghan chose two dresses for her wedding day. Her day dress was a timeless couture gown, designed by Clare Waight Keller for French fashion house Givenchy, the dress was classically chic and perfect for a Royal wedding. The second dress was also incredibly stylish, a halter-neck fishtail gown, designed by Stella McCartney for the evenings celebrations at Frogmore House.
THE CEREMONY: A unique ceremony, full of love and laughter, a beautifully elegant bride, a rather dapper groom dressed in military uniform and a service designed with the couples individuality at the heart of everything. Whilst it was a Royal wedding and certain traditions had to be followed, it really was exactly how a wedding should be, a fabulous celebration of a couple in love!
WALKING DOWN THE AISLE: Like many families, the family politics can have an impact on the big day, but Harry and Meghan turned any obstacles into positives. I thought that walking confidently into church alone and meeting Prince Charles halfway was a great idea of the new Duchess of Sussex.
THE COUPLE: What’s not to love about these two – a real life lovable Prince Charming and a beautiful independent woman who together, seem to make a pretty powerful team and moving forward, I think that that these two really will make a difference to the world!
THE FLOWERS: Philippa Craddock and her team created the incredible floral displays and the floral arch outside the chapel was magnificent. We loved to hear that the flowers were made into hand tied arrangements and delivered to hospices and womens refuges across London…. and the fact that Harry chosen the flowers from the royal garden the day before the wedding is such a special touch too.
THE OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS: The official photographer was Alexi Lubomirski who also took the couples official engagement photographs. These traditional formal shots were everything we expect from a Royal wedding and captured perfectly by Alexi.
BEER PONG!: According to the media, Tennis super star Serena Williams played beer pong at the evening reception and if that’s true, we wish more than ever that we’d been there to witness the celebrations in person!

As a new year commences, we always love looking back at the year gone by, to reflect on all the wonderful weddings and events that we have been lucky enough to plan.
2018 has once again been a fabulous year for Planned for Perfection, with more fantastic memories of incredible weddings and parties. We have thoroughly enjoyed planning such amazing events and thank our couples and clients for entrusting us to plan their celebrations.
We have travelled throughout the UK into London, Hampshire, Surrey, Oxfordshire, Dorset and the Cotswolds, as well as further afield to Italy, Portugal and Spain for some truly incredible luxury weddings and events.
The year started with the owner of Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium, Elizabeth Solou, invited us to join her in bringing the world famous Karen Tran Floral Masterclass to London. Elizabeth asked for Planned for Perfection to arrange the finale gala dinner for a host of wedding VIP’s at London’s iconic Lanesborough hotel. The evening was a huge success and we look forward to announcing dates of the next masterclass very soon.
Our wedding year began with a Spring wedding at Cripps Barn, for USA based couple A&R. We then to the barn later in the year, when we helped J&J plan their perfect English wedding in the Cotswolds.
We love planning destination weddings and visiting Italy is always such a pleasure. This year we found Aquapetra resort hotel and spa for one of our couples. Aquapetra is hidden in the Italian countryside, just over an hour from Naples. Located within sixty acres of gardens and olives groves and surrounded by a nature reserve, it has it’s own chapel, a relaxing spa and really feels like your own wedding village with your family and friends. K&S hired the hotel exclusively for their wedding weekend and had so much fun that we have already been booked to plan the brides “Big 40” next year!
We also return to one of our favourite venues, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. We love planning weddings at Blenheim Palace (after all it was the location of Jane’s proposal!) – so when L&M chose us to help them to finalise plans for their palace wedding, we were thrilled. Our American bride had a clear vision for her day and we helped her to bring that vision to life with Paula Rooney floral designer, which was captured perfectly by the lovely ladies at Barker Evans.
We spent over a year planning R&J’s Summer wedding at the new Palace Yurt at Hilles House in The Cotswolds. Our lovely bride wanted to “bring the outside in” using birch trees, greenery and white roses. The Yurt looked beautiful and we look forward to returning soon.
It is a privilege to be recommended by the team at Sudeley Castle and always a joy to work there. In September, we loved helping F&S’s to plan their beautiful day. The beautiful bride grew up in the Cotwolds, but now lives in London, returning to this beautiful part of the world for her dream wedding.
We plan many weddings in private family homes and love transforming a blank canvas into the most beautiful wedding venue. D&F chose to marry in the local church, close to one of the brides family homes and we spent a week in Dorset overseeing the build and working with a team of fantastic suppliers to bring over a year of planning together.
As is usual with many of our private clients, some couples wish to keep their wedding day celebrations offline. We respect the privacy of those who requested that we sign a confidentiality agreement and we thank those couples who allow us to share their magical memories that we helped them to create. We may not be able to share all our events, but each and everyone is unique and incredible in their own special way.
For the fourth consecutive year, we were thrilled to win Best Wedding Planner in the Cotswolds at The Cotswolds Awards. We are lucky enough to live and work in one of the most beautiful areas in England, a destination that is extremely popular with couples all over the world, so to consistently win a local award is a real honour.
So, here we are in 2019 with lots more beautiful weddings to plan this year. We are looking forward to planning our first wedding at Babington House in Somerset and at Fulham Palace in London. There are so many stunning wedding venues in the world, that we can’t possibly have worked at them all, so it is always exciting to visit new destinations, especially when they are with the most wonderful couples. We are also returning to The Manor House at Castle Coombe for what is all set to be the most incredible weekend and have some gorgeous weddings planned at homes in and around The Cotswolds. We are also currently planning destination weddings in locations still to be confirmed and another destination wedding in Italy is being planned for 2020, which we can’t wait for.
Our job would not be possible without our hardworking and amazing team and the dedication from the very best wedding suppliers, who help us to turn the hopes, dreams and wishes of our clients into a reality. Thank you to each and every person that we have worked with – team work literally does make the dream work!

Winter weddings have become increasingly popular over recent years, with couples embracing the cosy atmosphere and darker days to create a romantic wedding with beautiful rich colour palettes, roaring log fires and lots of shimmering candle light..
There is something very magical about a winter wedding; striking fabrics, opulent designs, romantic lighting and the decadent dark colour tones. Burgundy, berry red and gold, together with an abundance of seasonal greenery, or the classic elegance of an all white wedding…. what’s not to love about a wedding celebration in the winter months!
Many couples love this time of year, so we help them to design a wedding that epitomises everything they adore about Winter time. From the glitz and glamour of the festive season to the cosy sophistication of a countryside hideaway, where ever you choose to celebrate your marriage, Planned for Perfection are on hand to guide you every step of the way.
If you are looking to transform your wedding venue into a snow covered Winter wonderland or just simply love this time of the year, we will work with you to create your idyllic wedding celebration.
Christmas weddings are also incredibly popular, with couples making the most of their venues festive decor and simply adding their own personal touches to the already stunning surroundings. Keeping guests warm during the chilly months is imperative – the last thing we want is a shivering bride or cold guests – a faux fur wrap, a cashmere pashmina or a long sleeve wedding dress will keep the bride warm and mulled wine, spiced cider or hot toddies on arrival are always a warming treat for the guests! It obviously gets dark so much earlier in the winter, so arranging the right lighting is important too, fairy light back drops, lanterns, star lit ceiling drapes and candle lined aisles not only give off light, they offer a warm ambience and intimate atmosphere to any room.
If you are looking to plan a Winter wedding or a Christmas wedding, we would be delighted to discuss our wedding planning services with you:

Memories of a wonderful winter wedding captured by Mr & Mrs Productions
We specialise in planning weddings around the world and trips like the one that we have enjoyed recently with Luxury Gourmet Portugal, allow us to explore different countries, build relationships with the very best local wedding suppliers and expand our knowledge of different regions.
We are always very honoured to be invited on wedding planning trips, but from the first email inviting us to attend The Luxury Gourmet Portugal Forum, we knew that this was going to be a pretty special event, and we weren’t wrong!
The LPG team – Alan, Susanna and André – put together an interactive forum, where all VIP attendees were told to ‘ditch their laptops and bring their charm’. This trip was all about showcasing the Lisbon Coast, exploring this beautiful destination wedding location and experiencing an array of activities to share with our wedding couples.
Luxury Gourmet Portugal exceeded all expectations and it was an honour to experience such fabulous Portuguese hospitality and see firsthand the service that our couples and their guests can enjoy, should they choose Portugal as their destination wedding location.
We were treated to an incredible few days with a wonderful group of people and have put in place solid foundations for future working relationships and will certainly be recommending the hotels, venues and services to our clients over the coming months and years. This event was so much more rewarding than the usual format of networking and certainly one of the best ways to build and sustain long term business relationships with overseas companies. Ensuring the very best for our clients is imperative to our business and we can hand on heart inform our couples that Portugal has a great selection of beautiful wedding venues, endless opportunities to spoil yourself with the most hospitable and friendly people!
On arrival in Lisbon, we were taken to Palácio Estoril, where we stayed for three out of the four nights of our trip. The Hotel Palácio Estoril is a five star hotel, located in the heart of Estoril, 20 minutes journey from the centre of Lisbon. It is a very elegant and classic hotel, with beautiful views over Estoril and the Bay of Cascais. It is rich in history, having been the chosen venue of European Royalty and where Ian Flemming is rumoured to have written Casino Royale. On the first night, we were invited to a welcome dinner in one of the private dining rooms and experienced the delicious food and attentive service that guests would enjoy if we were to book an event there. Lisbon is the centre of Fado, traditional Portuguese folk music and after dinner, four talented Fado singers and musicians performed for us in one of the private rooms at the hotel.
The following day, we were driven to Cascais Marina, where we boarded a luxury catamaran and enjoyed a cruise along the stunning Lisbon coast line – an wonderful experience and great trip to share with your family and friends during a wedding weekend in Lisbon.
Following the cruise, we dined at Restaurant Eleven, a Michelin star restaurant and intimate wedding venue, where we savoured the culinary delights of leading chef Joachim Koerper. Eleven is more than a dining experience, it is a place of culture and art, with breathtaking views over the city and can be hired as a rather unique wedding venue.
Following lunch, we were taken to Lisbon helicopters who have provided tourist and private flights in and around Portugal for over 20 years. We were then surprised with a scenic flight over Lisbon, before the days finale….
Cocktails were waiting for us at Bairro do Avillez , an authentic Portuguese restaurant that would be perfect for a pre or post wedding meal, before we were led through a secret passageway to Beco, a gourmet cabaret club, a converted chapel and an exclusive, adults only club. Expect the unexpected here, it is a nod to a 1920’s / 1950’s cabaret club, where you enjoy a fabulous show whilst indulging a 12 course dinner by Chef José Avillez.
The following day, just when we thought that the trip couldn’t get any better, a selection of classic cars had been delivered to the hotel by Fabrice Le Roy, from Rent a classic car. There really is no better way to explore the hidden delights of Portugal, than behind the wheel of a vintage car and a perfect pre wedding activity for wedding couples and their guests! We drove a red Ford Mustang cabriolet from Cascais to Sintra along the coast, meandering through the winding mountain roads, stopping at Tivoli Palacio de Seteais for morning tea. For couples looking for a fairy tale wedding, the palace is perfect! Surrounded by gardens, with spectacular views over the surrounding areas and period architecture that dates back to the XVIII century.
For the second part of the journey, we swapped cars and were driven to Quinta De Sant’Ana in a gorgeous Jaguar XK 120, where we participated in wine tasting before a traditional lunch. Quinta De Sant’Ana is a beautiful wedding venue set in the grounds of a family run vineyard, hidden in a quaint village in a private estate. If you are looking for a quintessential Portuguese wedding, look no further!
That evening, we were taken to Casino Lisboa for a pre dinner drink and a show around of the event space, before dining at Restaurant Fora de pe , a delicious seafood restaurant in Cascais that you can hire exclusively for weddings, events and parties.
On Saturday, we checked out of The Palacio Estoril and visited Palacio dos Arcos to discuss the possibility of hosting a wedding or an event there. We then had the afternoon free to explore the beautiful town of Cascais and enjoy some late Winter sun.
We are thrilled to announce that, for the fourth consecutive year, we have won Best Wedding Planner in the Cotswolds, reconfirming Planned for Perfection as the Cotswolds most prestigious wedding planner.
Visitors from all over the world can see exactly what the area has to offer on Cotswolds Concierge, the best guide to the Cotswolds. The owner of the guide set up the The Cotswolds Awards in 2015 to showcase the most wonderful suppliers, venues and individuals that work in and around the Cotwolds.
We are lucky enough to call The Cotswolds home, so where ever you are in the world, if you are planning a Cotswold wedding, we have a wealth of local knowledge, years of wedding planning experience and will guide you every step of the way, ensuring that your Cotswold wedding is perfect in every way.

Guests invited to the wedding weekend received the most beautiful rose gold invitations designed by Angels Creations and flew to Madrid from all around the world. They were driven through the Spanish countryside to the stunning converted monastery, which is surrounded by grapevines, in a quaint Spanish village in central Spain.
Standing tall above the picturesque landscape, the monastery is an impressive structure, steeped in history with beautiful artwork and intricate carvings – simply the most stunning backdrop for a perfect destination wedding. We hired the monastery exclusively for the weekend and guests enjoyed three days of celebrating.
The celebrations commenced with an informal Spanish themed welcome party, where paella and tapas was served, sangria flowed and Spanish music echoed around the venue.
The wedding day itself was a truly breathtaking day, as you can see below, captured by Vogue wedding films.
The turrets of the monastery walls were dressed with cascading florals by the Paula Rooney team and were an incredible backdrop for the outside ceremony. The couple stood tall on a circular stage surrounded by garden flowers, after Laura was serenaded down the aisle by her favourite singer, Ashanti.
To stay cool in the blazing afternoon sun, guests were given personalised L&R sunglasses, monogrammed fans and bottles of ice cold water – no detail was left to chance to ensure that guests enjoyed the Spanish sunshine. There was a stunning flower wall for photographs and Champagne flowed during the drinks reception, where guests were wowed by Gloucestershire Magician Richard Parsons.
The cloisters were dressed in the brides favourite colour; stunning shades of pink with gold accessories. On each gold place setting, hired from White House Event crockery, sat designer favours – Chloe perfume for the ladies and Cartier aftershave for the gentlemen. The amazing 9 tier wedding cake sat on a bed on hydrangeas and was a stunning creation by Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium
During dinner, MicLowry, made a surprise appearance with an acapella set between courses and then returned later in the evening for the evening party following a performance from Ashanti, Ja Rule and The White Keys, as well as an international DJ from Holland, who kept the party going until the the sun began to rise!
The next day, a farewell white party barbeque was planned by the pool to celebrate the end of a wonderful weekend. There was a sushi table, popcorn, ice cream and dj from late afternoon until the early hours.
The following day, coaches returned guests to the airport, before the happy couple enjoyed a fabulous month long honeymoon in Dubai, Nairobi, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
A wedding gift list is something that many couples find difficult to decide upon; some genuinely don’t want their guests to buy them a wedding gift, many live together before they marry and have already purchased everything that they need and some find the idea of telling guests what they would like, just a little awkward…
The advice that we give to our couples is, that as a majority of guests will want to buy you a gift, why not ensure that it’s something that you will like and use, rather than something that will never be opened or kept in a box for years to come!
We have recently been working with Prezola to introduce their exclusive platinum service to our clients. Couples register online, are introduced to their personal gift list curator and then guided through the most enjoyable gift list journey, enabling them to create their very own individual and bespoke wedding registry to share with their guests.
Couples can choose from a selection of UK’s finest luxury brands, designer boutiques, top up their honeymoon fund or donate to a chosen charity. It is a simple luxury gift list , with an endless choice of brand partners – your gift list curator can even source gifts from any store in the world, should you wish!
After your wedding, Prezola delivers the wedding gifts to a chosen address, on a date that suits the couple best. It is such a simple and efficient service that is perfect for busy working couples and our clients that have used this service in the past, have always been thrilled with both the experience and their gifts. As an ambassador for this great service, Planned for Perfection couples do not have to pay the £250 set up fee.
