Welcome to Peaches & Blush. Peaches & Blush is where all my beauty and fashion obsessions are unleashed. Here you will find a bunch of fun stuff to unwind – some skincare super heros (Im obsessed with anti ageing and good skin), a few makeup product reviews, tons of fashion and outfit inspiration , general work and life opinion pieces and travel diaries whenever I am fortunate enough to step..
Glow – that elusive thing that you only see on pregnant women and brides. (I guess happyness does have something to do with it then). But in the middle of work, stress, deadlines and the like that glow kind of gets lost and I rely on some products that help me give that mega watt shine. It’s also one of my most asked questions on Instagram- what makes your skin glow. Well a couple of different things…
If you haven’t used any Glamglow products yet, pick this one and skip the rest. This clay masque isn’t overly drying and is very effective in clearing out the skin. It leaves a glowing and squeaky clean face after use. You can buy it online for Rs.1600 / 15 g. I also like the Glamglow volcanic overnight use treatment.
Frequency of use: Usually before a big event
AHA Peel Pads
Dr.Dennis Gross AHA Pads are acid toners which exfoliate the skin more efficiently than physical scrubs. Essentially they are moist pads that you apply in circular motions and voila, beautiful glowing skin ! Pro tip – Using these daily can cause breakouts. Twice a week should do the trick. I get them on cultbeauty , but I swear by them totally !!!
Frequency of use: Once or max twice a week
Wet n Wild Precious Petals Highlighter
I absolutely LOVE LOVE this highlighter. Its finely milled, super gorgeous and adds the most beautiful sheen and sparkle to my face. It may not be a natural way to glow, but hey who cares as long as my cheeks look sunkissed even in the middle of the night.
This scrub with saffron and cardamom retails for Rs.1195 / 50 g. Its not as harsh as other exfoliators in the market and leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean. Does exactly what it claims and awarded Best Exfoliating product by Vogue. Need any more reasons to try it ?
Frequency of use: Once a week
Indulgeo Rose Gold Oil
A dupe of the Tatcha oil, this one contains gold flakes, rosehip seed oil and a bunch of other gorgeous oils.
Other products I’ve heard a lot about :Tatcha Gold Camellia beauty oil
This Japanese beauty oil has 23 karat gold flakes ! Very popular in the beauty circuit because of its non-greasy, paraben free formula. It can be applied on the face, hair or body. It soothes, it nourishes and reduces dullness; so when you wake up the next morning, you’re literally glowing. (Price $ 95 on Sephora)
It contains 20% glycolic acid which acts as an exfoliator. These come in moist pad form and have to be applied at night followed up with sunscreen during the day. The result ? Brighter looking skin. (Price 24 pounds on CultBeauty)
We at P&B love sharing stories of real women and REAL recommendations. So continuing our tradition this week, we have entrepreneur and P&B Reader Armaan taking us through her skincare regime. There’s lots of beauty gyaan in here, so take notes girls.
The Low Down
Who : Armaan Mann
Profession : Owner, Dame Essentials (India’s First Anti-Aging Pure Silk Pillowcase & Eye Mask Brand)
Armaan says, “I wasn’t really into beauty while growing up. My interest started when I saw my 50 year old aunt look like she was 35 when I was 22. Also, I was dealing with acne at that moment which made me really self conscious.
That’s when I understood the value of good clear skin and there’s been no turning back since. Now no matter what, I always make sure I take care of myself despite having a three month old baby. I know my skincare routine is extensive but it only takes 10 mins in the morning and 10 minutes at night and the results are unbeatable.
AM Routine : I start my day by washing my face with Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating face wash. It has tiny granules and Vitamin C. I follow it up with Forest Essentials Bela facial mist. Then I use The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. This has helped reduce my sun spots remarkably. It has a very light texture and now I can’t do without it. I use The Ordinary Caffeine solution under my eyes as an eye serum. I mix The Ordinary Argan Oil with Hydrafacial Pur Moist as my moisturiser.
PM Routine : I wash my face with the same face wash. Then I use Forest Essentials Bela facial mist. If I have make up on, I use Banilla Co Clean it Zero to melt the make up and clean it with a face wipe.
I start by using The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% (3 times a week) and follow it with a mixture of The Ordinary Vitamin C 30% suspension in HA and Resveratrol 3% and Ferulic Acid 3%. It forms an amazing anti oxidant and my tiny newly formed wrinkles are now absent. I follow this with Argan oil mixed with Origins’ Night-a-mins.
I also do The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA peel once a week. This is a game changer and I always wake up with baby soft skin. I usually sleep with a sheet mask on the days I do the peel. I also use Korres Vitamin C peel from time to time, usually once a week for sure.
Prepping for a big event : I start by dermarolling one week before. I use The Ordinary Resveratrol after it along with my Vitamin c creme. Then I follow it up with a sheet mask every other day and use Korres Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping facial. I also use lip balm from Korres. I feel it is the best lip balm I have ever used in my life.
Once every two weeks, I get a facial scrub and massage done by my facial lady who comes home and uses my products. It helps me relax and I always finish that by using a sheet mask. Sheet masks that I love are : Dr. Jart Brightening Mask and Too cool for school (all their masks are amazing).
I use Korres Vitamin C Brightening oil during my make up. I mix it in my foundation and it gives an amazing effect. I get Dermaplaning done by my dermatologist once a month. It helps your skin get rid of facial hair and dead skin.
Stuff I swear by : I always, always sleep on Dame Essentials Pure Silk Pillowcase. This has increased the efficiency of all my products remarkably as they do not get absorbed when I sleep on it. I also never have sleep lines when I wake up and my hair has never looked better. Whenever I’m travelling I always use my Dame Essentials eye mask. It helps me look awake and fresh whenever I reach my destination. During flights, I put on my eye creme and put on my eye mask and go to sleep. I never have dehydrated dull looking eyes when I do this.”

I know guys, its almost the end of winter and here I am telling you how to make sock boots when you are already dreaming about slippers (Well, i was…I had a luxury cruise I was supposed to go on, complimentary but the idiotic boy didn’t renew his passport in time. Anyway, if you follow me on Insta story you would know the rant by now). Sooo… here is how I made those knockout pair of boots all of you keep asking me about on Instagram
You will need a long black cotton sock & a pair of black stilletoes
My stilletoes are from Dune , and my socks are a pair I purchased from Amazon…

Shailja says, “As my husband and I are both designers by profession, interior comes as a collective hobby for both of us. Thankfully our choices match and what you see is Parisian meets Nordic which holds inspiration and pieces coming together from all our travels to various countries and experiencing different cultures. Our space essentially has classic tones of grey, white and black. After work, we both like to have our evening tea by the sectional sofa which is my comfortable space with a lot of throw pillows and cozy blankets.
Being design aesthetes, we were very specific about the kind of furniture we wanted so we decided to get them custom made- the sofa, the sideboard and the dining set up; and it all turned out like a dream.
The gallery wall above the sofa has our photographed pictures printed and framed in minimal black frames. You will find multiple corners in the house with beautiful paintings by my husband.
The other side of the room has a full out Parisian sideboard with our blue pottery collection and candle-stands. We did a lot of DIYs to give the place a more rustic look by painting all the frames and mirrors and distressing it using sand paper.
Next to it is a beautiful teak wood bookshelf which is filled with carefully balanced pieces like books, storage boxes, art supplies and other showpieces with a focus light on top.
The dining area is my most favourite part of the house with beautiful vintage upholstered chairs and a shabby chic farmhouse table sitting atop layered dhurrie and a persian carpet. Next to it is a carved wood lamp along with window pane mirror and some victorian paintings on the wall.
Also, we are very fond of plants so there is one on every table and corner of the house. I think its extremely essential to have greens in the house as they add a lot to the decor and soothe the eyes too.
The bedroom has a bit of eclectic indian vibe to it with wrought iron lamps, colorful throw pillows and mid century modern legs patchwork lounge chair.
What makes the study table special is my scratch map that I got as a birthday gift from a friend and marquee light initials of our names. When it comes to home decor, I always make sure that I have the space, mood and the color scheme in mind before I try to fill it up any space. Also, I make it a little personal by adding a hint of DIY and of course have fun with it!
Ok I know..just the word acid isn’t something you want to bring even close to your skin right? Well..wrong. The whole of last year as you know, Iv been overhauling my skincare routine (its the thirties baby) , and one word I kept coming across was acid toning, and when I finally incorporated the same I felt like a baby with fresh new skin! I;ve said it before- that I think my skin in my thirties is actually better than the previous decade and I think it’s cos Im finally paying some much needed attention to it.
What is Acid Toning?
Okay, so you know how you used physical scrubs as exfoliators to remove dead skin cells ? Well , those are slowly giving way to ‘acid toners’ or products which have glycolic acid, or lactic acid or AHA…which exfoliate the skin not just at the surface but at a deeper level. So you get fresh new skin that looks like Beyonce when you look in the mirror (Well, I just looked like myself but there’s hope right). In general , what people do is – cleanse- double cleanse- acid tone- moisturise
Who needs it & how often?
I know there are a TON of daily use acid toning products out there but personally I don’t use acid toners more than say once or twice a week. I also think if you are younger , physical scrubs work just fine for you. For older people, like moi…..you need something stronger than just a scrub which just is a surface thing.
Another point to note- if you have sensitive skin and haven’t use acid products in the past- start slow and then build it up. If you suddenly start using it very frequently you can break out.
What does it do?
For me, Iv noticed acid toning really really deep cleans and as a result my skin just absorbs the moisturiser better and in turn it makes me glow way more than any silly face mask does. Speaking of face masks, using them after acid toning makes a huge difference as well.
I usually use these at night because acid toning makes your skin slightly more photosensitive so you have to wear sunscreen with these.
What I have used..
Dr. Dennis Gross AHA Pads
My favourite of everything I have used is the Dr Dennis Gross daily use AHA peel pads. They say daily use but i use them just twice a week. Basically its this moist pad which you rub all over your face- they tingle just a bit but the results are SO freaking good. My skin glows with regular use of these. Some of you guys who use these daily have complained of them breaking you out- but like I said I dont recommend you use them daily ! You can buy these from cultbeauty
Pixi Glow Tonic
If you want to get started on acid toning without spending a ton of cash on it, then the Pixi Glow tonic is absolutely great. Its affordable, does the job and is mild to start with . These are available on Amazon India
Huxley Secret of Sahara Extract It Toner
This is a K beauty product which I started to use and this one is great too. It’s alcohol free and freshens your skin while still being gentle but extremely powerful. You can buy this from First Skin Instagram Shop which is a k beauty store in India
Other products I haven’t used but are supposed to be amaze

Sunday Riley Lactic Acid: The beauty world is going cray-cray over this one. Supposed to be almost magical.
Mitali says, “I did my undergrad in Psychology and started my career doing HR. The world of fashion just fascinated me and I went onto work as a buyer with a major E-commerce player with absolutely no experience of what that would entail. Being surrounded by private Indian labels and homegrown brands made me want to start my own label. The rest like they say, is history.
We got into this 4.5 years ago when exhibitions were still at a nascent stage. There were two other major players who were catering to a completely different audience and there was no variety of categories. The focus was all on heavy, traditional indianwear. There was absolutely no concept of selecting what was going to be displayed at the events, it was simply based on whoever was willing to pay & participate. I started my label over 5 years ago and participated at one of these events. Thats when the idea struck that there had to be a better way of doing this. A platform where we could bring together like minded customers & exhibitors. We started with a small event of 6 designers, mostly all friends & relatives to test out the market. I still remember it being a a really humid day in May but that didn’t stop our amazing ladies from coming out in huge numbers.
Luckily for us, we get to see a varied amount of merchandise, some amazing work and we’re lucky to work with some super creative people. I look after the Operational part of things, so there’s a lot of planning involved. From picking on cities we would like to exhibit in, layout of our events, choosing brands we’d like to have on board, to decor, to simply ensuring the smooth functioning of our events.
My Work Wardrobe
Since I don’t have a typical 9 to 5 job, my work wardrobe is fun, fresh and typically a mix of stuff depending on my mood that day! Something I recently bought is a classic white shirt with fun graphics embroidered on them from a new brand called Sarto, its perfect for a meeting yet makes you stand out! Uni Qlo has some amazing pants for work, super comfortable and they look good too. Summer & winter essentials are picked up from Zara, H&M and of course the fast growing Chinese websites. Apart from that, I tend to wear a lot of stuff from my own label.
MONDAY – Green Stretch Suede Pant Suit from my label Mitali Wadhwa and Wooden clutch from Duet Luxury
TUESDAY – Embroidered Dress by Sneha Soni
WEDNESDAY – Cotton Red pant suit from my label Mitali Wadhwa and Clutch from Chanel
THURSDAY – Stretch fitted pants with a off shoulder coat from my label Mitali Wadhwa
FRIDAY – Blazer dress with lace sleeve detailing from my label Mitali Wadhwa
My Skincare Regime
My skin is super sensitive & oily which is why I keep my morning skincare routine very simple. I absolutely swear by a home remedy of Apple cider vinegar and water. It works as a toner & a super face cleanser. Just before stepping out of the house is a good amount of Sunblock. I use a Kama Ayurveda sunblock, its coverage is good and absorbs easily.
Night skin care routine involves cleaning my face with the Apple cider vinegar mix followed by application of a thin layer of Kiehl’s Midnight recovery concentrate. It makes my face look relaxed the next morning! I feel the simpler you keep your skin care routine, the better it is. I’ve seen my mum not use too many things and her skin looks fab!
Once a week I use a home made face pack made with honey, gram-flour, yogurt & turmeric. Its super refreshing and helps your skin glow! If I’m feeling lazy, I just use a face mask from Nykaa. That too helps in relaxing the skin!”
I knew everyone says this but Damn 2017, you flew by in a freaking instant. It’s been a bit of a mixed bag of a year -in a lot of ways it hasn’t been the best year on the personal front. And in many ways its been an absolute cracker of a year ….looking back here were my favourite memories, things, products and more from 2017.
My Favourite Memories
Kicking off 2017 in Australia
Last new years eve , we celebrated watching the fireworks in Melbourne. It was the first big trip we took post our honeymoon and a major item off the boys bucket list. I had zero expectations from Australia but now I think I want to move there. In between discovering hidden speakeasy bars, snorkeling in the great barrier reef, gorging on sweets at Zumbos pastry shop and just having the most insanely stunning walk across Bondi & Coogee beach (along with getting stitches at the emergency) – this was the trip of a lifetime.
Trip to Amsterdam & Paris with Mommy + Suprises there
For the past two years, my moms employer has been giving her an allowance she can claim on international flight tickets and hotels. OFCOURSE we made full use of it and 2017 was the year of Paris , Amsterdam & Bruge with the mother. Cute little charming cafes, dragging my mother out of souvenir shops, buying only the cutest bag alive, sharing a cosy Airbnb and chilling with my brother in the streets of Paris were my favourite memories.
The photo on the left , is when the boy guess the password of my booking.com account, went in and found the hotel we were staying at and ordered flowers which said “5 days to our 5th anniversary”. It was a borderline stalkerish thing to do and had I not been married to him I might have gotten a restraining order, but he earned major brownie points for this.
Redoing my house
I don’t know about you, but I’m the kind of person whose moods can change drastically based their surroundings. Im not kidding even like things like blue lights vs yellow lights make me feel depressed vs happy. It’s kind of scary, but redoing my house was just the best thing because I finally got a space that is so so me. Its light, airy, has enough color but still sophisticated enough for a 30 year old. Getting rid of the black sofas , and adding these fresh colours totally lifted my spirits at a time they really needed lifting. Click here to see the full makeover and how I did it
WMG Events: Bridal Asia, Makeup Trial- A -Thon, Mandap Popup
One of my favourite things this year was meeting all the people who use WedMeGood. Events are so freaking hard to pull off cos there are a gazillion things you need to manage, but Iv realised I love the madness of them and waiting to see if people turn up. Definitely my favourite memories of the year
Impromptu Sunday Breakfasts
So you guys know all about my maid woes by now. As we speak, our finalised maid has taken her 4th holiday in 10 days and we will probably be looking for another one now. BUT, what maid woes do- is turn regular days into impromptu sunday brunches. There is nothing that makes me happier than eating breakfast out with a glass of OJ, eggs to order and more.
Getting back to Peaches & Blush
I had honestly lost the passion and even the reason I started Peaches & Blush, and I couldn;t get myself to really devote time to it . But in 2017 I kind of rekindled that, and even though I didn’t post everyday or super frequently, I realised the reason I had stopped doing P&B was just the pressure to keep up, pressure to post, pressure to grow the number of followers etc etc. The moment I just let go and realised I didn’t really care whether I had 100,000 Instagram followers, or whether mine was the #1 beauty blog in the country , or about the free products and sponsorships – but all I cared about was having a little space where I get to interact with you guys- I found that love back.
My Favourite Products of 2017
Skinceuticals CE Ferulic & Embryollise Moisturiser
Two products Iv loved this year. The Skinceuticals CE Ferulic is a skin care game changer, Im so glad I bit the bullet and bought it. The Embryollise moisturiser is something that was on my brothers shopping list in Paris (his girlfriend gave him a nice little list), and I bought it on a whim. I LOVE how soft this makes my skin feel. A few people who tried it mentioned it was way too heavy for them, and it is a slightly heavier moisturiser but OMG its perfect for my parches skin
Dr Dennis Gross AHA BHA Peel Pads
My go-to product for glow. So if you aren;t into acid toning, you should be. (Let me know if you want me to do a post about them ?) . But the Dr.Dennis Gross AHA/ BHA Peel Pads are these little pads you apply on your skin containing exfoliating agents. They call them daily peel pads but chances are if you use these daily you will break out. I use them once a week to really refresh my skin- you can instantly see your skin looking brighter and fresher even with one use.
When I was a kid, christmas meant going to see the decked out christmas trees at all the star hotels in Delhi. Now, that I’m no longer a kid (though In my brain I’m still 12), christmas means making fun of other women looking like christmas trees . Ok no, I’m being mean…christmas means brunches, family time and a whole lot of party makeup. Im talking glossy, bright lips, the glowiest highlighters and the sheeniest blushes to kick things up a notch for the holiday season. Here are my favourites. (Some of the names are linked to their reviews so click away)
Favourite Red Lipsticks
Smashbox Bad Apple Liquid Lipstick: I never thought a glossy, deep red would be my thing but Oh. My. God. This is seriously the sexiest, glossiest red lipstick with a deep, almost evil feel to it. No kidding, I feel borderline wicked when I wear this on. The color is a deep, blood red.
Mac Relentlessly Red – A watermelon pink with reddish undertones. Bright, gorgeous and gives power- woman vibes without being intimidating because its equal parts pink and equal parts red . Only glitch is that its drying.
Colourpop Bumble: Favourite , most versatile color ever. This isn’t really red but more like a soft, brick kinda color for the girl who is too scared to wear red but wants to ease into it. I wear it with everything- for work, to parties, with nude eyes, with smokey eyes- you name it.
Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation – Coverage, blend-ability and longevity – it scores high on all three. As an added bonus its hydrating with an SPF of 40 doing away the need of moisturizer and sunscreen !
Mac Face & Body – The formulation is lightweight and doesn’t look cakey at all. The coverage is buildable and it photographs beautifully (even with flash at night). This has been a favourite for years as it doesn’t dry out the skin.
Wet n Wild Precious Petals Highlighter – It is hands down one of the best highlighters in the market (at an affordable price of 499). It’s not chunky glitter but such a pretty sheen that can give luxe highlighters a run for their money. Should I do an indepth on these? Lemme know
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick – Fine shimmer with good colour payoff. It can also be used as eyeshadow or blush. If you have large pores, look elsewhere as this can definitely accentuate them.
Smashbox LA Lights Blendable cheek color: Another beautiful highlighters for your cheeks to pop during the holiday season.
Mac Mocha – Super finely milled and matte blush that gives a natural, earthy flush to the cheeks. It is a plummy dusty pink that looks amazing on medium Indian skintones. Again, a blush I wear with pretty much everything
Mac Peachtwist – A beautiful peachy orange with subtle gold shimmer. It is a great option for dusky girls as it gives a sunkissed warm glow.
Mac Expensive Pink – Perfect for parties and weddings as its very flattering on Indian skintones and will go with almost every outfit. Extremely pigmented and long lasting peachy gold eyeshadow with a duochrome finish.
Mac Woodwinked – The most gorgeous golden bronze eyeshadow – great as an all over lid color for a bronzey look or as an outer corner color for a neutral everyday look. I love how buttery and silky it feels when you apply it!
Mac All That Glitters – A pearl finish eyeshadow that’s a stunning peachy rose gold shade. The texture is velvety; the colour super pigmented and no creasing whatsoever.
Its that time of the year again folks ! When most people are going to be decking up Christmas trees, the only change in my house will be warm, alluring candles. Since I’m super lazy, I asked all you guys on Instagram to tell me your favourite scented candles for the holidays available in India. Here is what all of you reccomended. (The titles link to the store below)
Such a wonderful collection with a plethora of scents. They have candles in jars and even cloches. The cloche jar increases longevity and keeps it away from dust. Especially love the Christmas themed ones that would make perfect gifts (Secret Santa, are you listening? ). Their website gives pretty detailed info on dimensions, weight, burn time etc and they deliver within 8-10 days.
The fragrances are exquisite and out of the ordinary. Everyone would be able to find one they like. Top picks – Cannelle with Cinnamon, John Galliano with Wormwood, Sage, Coumarin, Frankincense, Iris, Musk and Gardenia, A bouquet of opulent white flowers in a twilit room in the evening.
The entire range is 100% organic, low smoking and slow burning. Classic and timeless scents like Kannauj rose and Madurai Jasmine with eco-friendly soy wax options. These also claim to uplift your mood and relax your senses. Anything that doesn’t contain parabens, chemicals and artificial fragrances is a definite winner in my book.
Price Range Rs.500 – 1450
(4) Jo Malone London
Candles I’d like to try from their collection – Peony & Moss Charity, Lime Basil & mandarin, Orange Blossom, Mimosa & Cardamom. The burn time of their 200 g candle is 45 hours and all of them look SO luxurious. Another great gifting option for Mumbai peeps !
Niana is truly a candle lover’s delight. With scents of aromatic flowers, exotic spices and luscious fruits their candles are made from natural soy wax to boot. This means no toxins and no soot (hey, that rhymed !).
Price Range for their Christmas collection Rs.450 – 675, Signature range Rs.865 for 600 g
Most of their candles come in decorative glass holders that can be upcycled and reused once the candle burns out. Some scents I liked from their range – Green Fig, Tuberose, Jasmine and Green Tea. You can order them from their website which delivers in 5-6 business days. (International shipping can also be availed).
Price Range Rs.1100 – 2800
7.) AA Living
One of Mumbai’s favourite lifestyle stores, not only do they have some delish candles but some of the most adorable soaps, rugs, and a whole host of other things to make you go aww. They stock different brands so go see.
When you have dry skin , the term “Winter is coming” is just as ominous as it sounds in Game of Thrones. No matter what you do, you feel like this wierd scaly, dehydrated reptilian creature whose skin just looks dull and sallow. Fortunately though, I found some essentials to stock up on.
(1) Venusia Max Body cream
Venusia Max is P&B approved. Super hydrating and ideal for girls with extremely dry skin. Its also easily available at any local Chemist / Pharmacy. Rub it all over your arms and legs- and Im telling you it is the ONE thing that keeps limbs hydrated (otherwise the other creams just tend to hydrate for a few hours and then dissapear). My legs- they literally look like scales in winters and this is the only thing hydrating them.
Love, love, love the chocolatey fragrance of this one. Definitely a must buy for the cold and dry months. It does what a good body moisturizer should and is easily available online on Nykaa. It isn’t as nice as the Venusia max but its nice enough
Another casualty of winter – Lips ! And while the regular Maybelline Baby Lips does work, the holiday season with under the mistletoe action needs something a bit more. The Burt’s Bees range is natural and hydrating. A little hard to find though, its only available at Sephora in India.
I like using Almond oil from time to time because of its Vitamin E content. While Vitamin E hasn’t shown any medical results in terms of anti ageing , it is definitely super hydrating. I like to apply the almond oil in my night time routine like serum- moisturiser- almond oil.
