Men’s Hoodie Reviews

#1 Nike Men’s Sportswear Club Pullover Hoodie

Nike is undoubtedly one of the top sportswear companies in the world, due to their relentless style and consistent quality.

While they have countless types of hoodies, their original Men’s Sportswear Club Pullover is our favorite from the brand.

Coming in 18 different colors, you get to choose from quite basic shades from greys, blues, reds, whites, and blacks. While they’re not the most exciting colors, you still receive quite a variety.

Made of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, the fabric is quite soft yet durable. It allows for quite a bit of stretch, making it great for working out, running errands, or going camping.

The fleece fabric brushed on the back also makes it perfectly warm for crisp autumn days.

Despite being so comfortable, it has a very flattering cut, with a slim ribbed hem and cuffs to provide a bit of a sleeker look.

The paneled hood and drawcord also makes sure cold wind doesn’t get in, allowing you to adjust coverage as you’d like. To keep your hands warm, the kangaroo pocket is located conveniently in the front.

Considering everything, this is one of the top products, even among the best mens hoodies.

  • Type: Pullover
  • Pockets: Kangaroo Pocket

#2 Carhartt Men’s Midweight Sleeve Logo Hooded Sweatshirt

Easily one of the warmest hoodies out there, the Carhartt Men’s Midweight Sleeve Logo Hooded Sweatshirt is significantly heavier than the previous hoodie.

This model is ideal for those bone-chilling mornings and evenings, when you have to go to work or work outside.

Coming in 11 different shades, it’s not quite as versatile as some others on our guide. However, we felt they were slightly more attractive than most, with natural, earthy colors.

You’ll also find a substantial array of sizes and lengths, so if you’re tall, you’ll still get the perfect fit.

Made of half cotton and half polyester, you’ll notice it’s a bit thicker and denser than many. Not only that, but it’s one of the most sturdy and durable. Despite being so long-lasting, it’s quite comfortable.

You’ll find that this men’s pullover hoodie isn’t quite as luxurious as those with fleece, but it’s ideal if you’re going to be working in it. The adjustable drawstring on the midweight three-piece hood lets you keep the wind out and keep your ears warm.

When you need to roll up your sleeves, you’ll also appreciate the stretchy spandex-reinforced rib-knit cuffs and waistband. Finally, the main seams are all triple-stitched to ensure you can put it through the ringer.

#3 Champion Men’s Powerblend Fleece Pullover Hoodie

The best men’s sweatshirts should be comfortable, good-looking, and ideally affordable.

If you’re on a tight budget, there aren’t as many options as there should be, but the Champion Men’s Powerblend Fleece Pullover Hoodie is the most attractive if you want to save some cash.

The selection of shades is more than sufficient with almost 30 options to choose from. You’ll find basics like blacks and greys, interspersed with more interesting colors like Swiss Blue, Team Gold, Dark Green, and more.

One of our favorite characteristics of this men’s hoodie is that you can wash it over and over and not have to worry about it losing its original good looks.

This is thanks to the 50/50 cotton-polyester blend that reduces pilling and shrinkage. The fabric is brushed inside, so you can count on a tough exterior and a soft-against-your skin feel at all times.

This model is a bit more relaxed than the others we’ve covered so far, with a wider rib cuff and bottom hem designed for your comfort while hanging out or being active.

The two-ply hood is also notably thick, making it perfect for keeping in heat on days when it feels as if your ears will freeze off.

The pouch pocket located right on the belly is the ideal location for hanging your arms and keeping your hands warm, too.

#4 Adidas Originals Men’s Trefoil Hoodie

If we were to select one sports brand and name it as the most trendy currently, it would have to be Adidas. It’s spotted on the world’s top athletes, celebrities, to just about everyone else in the world.

Aside from looking good, though, it always features quality materials and designs. Their Adidas Originals Men’s Trefoil Hoodie is a classic that goes with any kind of look or outfit you want.

Due to the ultra-soft 70% cotton, 30% polyester blend, it’s earned the ranking of “most comfortable hoodie” by us, as well as countless other consumers.

The pull-on closure means that no cold wind will get in, providing excellent coverage.

The model unfortunately doesn’t come in many colors, but it does feature an attractive style with one solid color throughout, and the large Trefoil logo front and center on the chest.

The raglan sleeves with ribbed cuffs and hem add a slightly “classier” feel to the hoodie that can easily be dressed up or down.

In an effort to keep your warmth from escaping, the drawcord-adjustable hood and kangaroo pocket are there to keep your extremities and head from getting a cold draft.

  • Fabric: 70% Cotton/30% Polyester

#5 Under Armour Men’s Armour Fleece Pullover Hoodie

While Nike and Adidas have spread to become known as a more “stylish” brand, Under Armour has stuck to its roots and perfected sportswear.

They consistently outfit pro sports teams, which gives you an idea of the level of quality you’re receiving. Their fleece pullover hoodie is quite possibly the best pullover hoodie if you want to keep in heat while wicking away moisture.

The 100% polyester design is very durable and will easily hold up for many seasons. The Armour Fleece is surprisingly lightweight, remaining stretchy so you can have the best range of motion possible.

Many of us go through a constant struggle when it’s cold out. You want to keep warm, but you don’t want to feel all sweaty. The breathable fabric allows for superior airflow, while the soft inner layer traps heat to keep you comfy.

The hood is easy to adjust to lock out coldness, while still looking good. The unique snorkel neckline not only serves for extra protection and warmth, it also looks more modern and trendy.

The ribbed cuffs and hem also do a good job at keeping heat in, while streamlining the design more against the body. Finally, it comes with an extra-large kangaroo pocket to easily keep your hands or keep valuables close by.

#6 Adidas Men’s Essentials 3-Stripe Full Zip Fleece Hoodie

We couldn’t have a comprehensive list of the best men’s sweatshirts without including a zip-up model!

Unfortunately, there weren’t many excellent choices out there, but there was one which stood out to us, in particular.

The Adidas Men’s Essentials 3-Stripe Full Zip Fleece Hoodie easily won the spot of “best zip up hoodie” thanks to the excellent craftsmanship, relatively affordable price, and classic look.

Coming in 12 different colors, there aren’t a ton of options, but you will get the essentials. Greys, whites, reds, and blues are all available for you to choose what fits your wardrobe or personality best.

Made of recycled polyester fibers, the company is part of the Adidas Sustainable Product Program which works to save resources and decrease emissions.

The zipper is also very high-quality, with a thick build that won’t snag or come apart which is crucial on windy days. The drawcord on the hood does work, but we noticed that after 30 minutes or so it would start to come a bit loose so re-adjustment is needed throughout the day.

The ribbed cuffs and hem fit slim against the body and are thick, to keep in heat. As this is a zip up design the kangaroo pocket is obviously going to be split in two, but we felt that the style was more reliable and secure for keeping valuables.

Adidas Men’s Essentials 3-Stripe Full Zip Fleece Hoodie at a Glance:
  • Fabric: Polyester
  • Type: Zip Up
  • Pockets: 2 Split Kangaroo Pockets
  • Colors: 12

#7 Nike Men’s Therma Training Hoodie

We’re back again with yet another Nike best hooded sweatshirt, but this time with the Therma Training Hoodie.

Coming in 12 different colors, this design probably offers the most interesting selections of the bunch. Bright Yellow, Light Blue, Carbon Heather, and various others work to add some more character to your wardrobe.

The 100% polyester composition is very smooth yet strong. The fibers are tightly woven together to lock out coldness while also working to wick moisture away from the skin to allow for it to evaporate.

In fact, the Nike Therma fabric works to manage your natural heat so you’re neither too hot nor too frigid.

The pullover design is perfect for those days when you’re in a hurry and don’t know what to wear Jeans, sweatpants, and more – it all jives well with the Therma Training Hoodie.

Much like the Under Armour model, this design also comes with a 3-panel scuba hood to keep the elements outside, where they belong.

Raglan sleeves allow for excellent motion, so whether you’re just lifting your arm to change the channel or to shoot a free throw, you won’t be restrained.

The only downside for us was that it was a bit more expensive than most competitor products.

How to Choose the Best Men’s Hoodie – Buyer’s Guide

Now that you’ve had the chance to look through all of the best sweatshirts for men, have you decided which one is right for you?

If you’re still on-the-fence, then not to worry. We realize that there are a lot of great options here and it can be overwhelming trying to choose between them.

That’s why we’ve decided to take things into our own hands, and write up a handy buying guide for you. This guide will ensure that by the end, you’re 100% certain about the right hoodie for you.

Style of Hoodie

You’ll find that you get two styles to select from: pullover or zip up. They’re both very different but also have many similarities. Let’s take a look.

Pullover

Pullover models are the type that you pull over your head to put on. This is quick and easy, but some people don’t like risking messing up their hair. You also don’t have to worry about running into the chance that a zipper will let cold air in, breaking or getting stuck.

Zip Up

Zip ups are also very convenient, as they come with a zipper to take the sweatshirt on and off. They’re easy to use and also very quick.

In a fashion sense, they can be left unzipped to where you can see the shirt you’re wearing underneath, allowing for you to create attractive contrasting combinations. The downside is that zippers can also let in a bit of cold air if they’re not thick and/or tight enough.

There isn’t really one that’s “better” than the other, and it all comes down to your personal tastes.

Fabrics

This is probably the most important aspect when it comes to choosing the perfect hoodie for you or the man in your life.

Cotton

Cotton is one of the most popular selections for hoodies, due to how soft and naturally breathable they are. They work to keep in body heat well, acting as insulation. However, they don’t leave you sweaty, as airflow is more than sufficient.

Wool

If you need more warmth than cotton can allow for, then wool may be the right option. However, don’t plan on using it while working out as you’ll quickly become overheated due to wool not ventilating properly.

Polyester

Aside from cotton, polyester is the most popular material for quality hoodies. However, it’s more common to see a poly/cotton blend rather than 100% polyester products.

Polyester jackets generally have a slick, elastic feel to them which makes them difficult to wrinkle or lose their shape. Polyester is often seen as the best option if you’re aiming for sheer strength and durability.

Fleece

Fleece is perfect on freezing days and nights, offering similar insulation to cotton and wool, while remaining lightweight and comfortable.

Body Type

No matter who you are, you want something that looks good on you. Take into consideration your body type, to get the most flattering fit possible.

Slim: If you’re slim or “average” build, then try to find a more slender, fitted hoodie to compliment that. If it’s really baggy around the waist, it’ll do the opposite, and make you look bulkier.

Muscular: If you’re muscular, it’s also a good idea to stick with more form-fitting styles that still allow you enough room and stretch to comfortably move around and have a wide range of motion. Another good option is a zip up hoodie to allow for extra space.

Heavier: If you don’t feel like having something tight against your body, then you’ll want to opt for comfort above anything else, while still searching for something that compliments your shape.

Also consider your height when purchasing the best men’s hoodie. If you’re taller than average, you can usually find designs specifically made to suit you. If you’re on the shorter side, avoid oversized hoodies. These often make you look even shorter and/or wider.

Hood

If you’re trying to keep out the wind and cold from your sensitive head and ears, then you need a high-quality hood. A scuba hood is our favorite, due to the extra coverage it provides as well as a modern, trendy style that looks good dressed up or down.

Aside from that, make sure it can easily be adjusted at a moment’s notice for unexpected rainfall or heavy winds.

Price

How much are you willing to spend on one of the best men’s hoodies currently available today? If it’s something you know you’ll wear frequently, will last a long time, and keep you comfortable, then there’s no problem in spending a little more than you normally would. After all, if it’s going to be made of higher quality materials and last longer, it will eventually pay for itself!

FAQs About Hoodies Q: What’s the difference between a hoodie and a jacket?

A: A hoodie is going to be made of different materials, such as cotton or polyester. Jackets are typically more lightweight and can often be used as a layer over a hoodie. Jackets are often missing the most iconic part of the hoodie: well, the hood. Jackets are typically zip-up while the other can be a pullover or zip-up.

Q: Can I use my hoodie in the gym and on the street?

A: Absolutely. Hoodies are perfectly versatile, and can be used with sneakers and shorts, or with a pair of jeans, boots and a leather jacket to go on top for the fashion-forward street styles you see today.

Q: Will it actually keep me warm?

A: We’ve tested each of the products above, and can say confidently that “yes” they will. However, if you live in a particularly frigid/windy climate and that icey air is still getting through, layers help immensely.

Tips For Wearing Your Hoodie #1: To keep your hoodie looking good for years to come, try to hand-wash it.

Using the machine can create pilling, but also start to break down the fabric due to the heavy impact of it being thrown around in a shaking metal machine. Always use cold water, too.

#2: Even if you’re using it for casual use, make sure the product allows for great range of motion.

You probably don’t want to rip the armpit of your new clothes just because you wanted it to be as tight as possible. Make sure to review the manufacturer’s sizing information as a few companies listed tend to run a bit small and/or short.

#3: Opt for form-fitting but not too tight.

This goes more or less for everyone, but you do not want to stretch your hoodie out. It’s not going to look good, it’s just going to look bulky and old.

Final Thoughts

Now that you know all about the best hoodies..

The colors available depend on the size of boys’ bike you are looking for. Be sure to first focus on the size as that’s what is most important for a kid just learning to ride a bike.

The Huffy Moto X kids bike is also designed with a rear coaster brake and a front hand brake so the rider can first learn stable braking.

#6 Yvolution Y Velo Senior Balance Bike

Wouldn’t it be great if your kid could start riding a real bicycle without having to start with training wheels?

The Yvolution Y Velo balance bike is designed with large, wide wheels to help the rider maintain their balance.

With more trust in their stability, they will then learn how to maintain that stability around corners and even over rough terrain.

They can do this before getting a traditional bike made for their size and then be able to ride it without needing training wheels.

Both the frame and tires are designe

The steel frame is backed by a limited lifetime warranty and each bike is marked with a serial number that is used to track its quality and can even be used to find it if it’s lost or taken.

Being “in charge” of their bicycle can help to give them a sense of responsibility for their first bike that will carry over when they upgrade to others.

The back of the seat has a “helper handle” built into it so a parent, guardian or even friend can help the rider maintain stability when first learning to pedal.

The only tool not provided to assemble this kids’ bike is an air pump for the tires.

How to Choose the Best Bicycle For 4-5 Year Olds

With so many factors and features involved in choosing the right bike for your 4- to 5-year-old child, it can become overwhelming. We’ve narrowed down the choices to the best kids’ bikes for that age range, all reviewed above. However, the buying guide below can help you pick the perfect one.

Bike Size

The sizes that you’ve seen listed for each kids’ bike we’ve reviewed might be a little confusing at first. A 12” kids’ bike refers to a bike that has a 12” diameter wheel. The bigger the wheels, the bigger the bike, and the bigger the kid that it’s designed for.

While this is usually a great indicator of the child’s height the bike is designed for, the length of the bike also needs to be taken into consideration. However, on average, a 16” kids’ bike is designed for a child 40 to 46 inches tall.

Training Wheels

Training wheels are a commonly used way of helping a rider to maintain stability as they also learn how to pedal and brake the bike.

Adjustable training wheels can be moved up a little as the rider gets used to maintaining their balance so they will allow the bike to tilt a little bit before the training wheels will catch them. The training wheels can be removed from any of the bikes we’ve reviewed.

Style

Some kids can be picky and will want a bike with a color and style that they like. While not all kids will be picky, it’s safe to say that any kid will ride their bike more often, and enjoy it more, if the bike fits their personal style and personality.

Pedals vs. Balance

We’ve only featured one balance bike in our reviews, the Yvolution Y Velo. Balance bikes are quite popular with kids that need a little extra time learning their balance before tackling a regular bicycle, even with training wheels. However, the most common choice is a traditional, pedal kids’ bike.

Brakes

Coaster brakes are the most common on kids’ bikes. By pedaling backward ever so slightly, they can slowly come to a stop. Hand brakes can take a bit longer to master. Bikes that have both coaster brakes and hand brakes can be a great choice if you plan on teaching the rider how to use the hand brakes at a later time.

Hand brake on the Royalbaby Freestyle Kid’s Bike Seat Height

The height of the seat is crucial when adjusting a bicycle to the rider for the first time. If the seat is too low or too high, it can make it harder for them to keep their balance.

If riding for a while, it can also make the bike uncomfortable. When first teaching a child how to ride a bike, the height of the bike seat should be the same as the inseam of their pants.

Budget

Minding your budget isn’t only important for your wallet. It’s important to remember that a child will most likely outgrow the bicycle in only a few years. If you have younger children that will also use the bike later on, then choosing a durable bike that costs a few more dollars might be worth the investment.

FAQs About Kids Bicycles

Do you still have questions about buying the best kids’ bike for your little one? Many shoppers do so we’ve listed our top 5 frequently asked questions when it comes to the subject.

Q: What size bicycle does my kid need?

A: The size bike they need will be determined by their height, and to a lesser extent, their weight. A 4- to 5-year-old with a height of between 40 and 46” should be riding a 16” kids’ bike. It’s important for the size of the bike to match the size of the child, so if they are shorter or taller than that, they may need a smaller or larger bike to start out with.

Q: How do I calculate the right seat height?

A: When a rider is first learning, they should be able to stand up with their feet on the ground and still have the seat comfortably underneath them. To find this height easily, measure the inseam of their pants and set the highest part of the seat to that height.

Q: Does the height of the handlebars matter?

A: The handlebars may be set at a specific height or they may be adjustable. If they are adjustable, you can increase the height of them in relation to the increase in seat height. This can help the rider get more months or years of use out of the bike. If the handlebars can be adjusted forward or backward, the position should depend on the height of the rider.

Q: Which braking system is best for my 4- to 5-year-old?

A: The easiest braking system to learn are coaster brakes. This is because the rider doesn’t have to look down at the handlebars to see the hand brake levers. If they don’t have to look down, they are more likely to maintain their balance.

Several of the kids’ bikes we reviewed come equipped with both coaster brakes and hand brakes so they can learn hand braking once they have been riding for a while and are more comfortable with it.

Q: Why don’t most kids bike come with gear systems?

A: Nearly all kids’ bikes will be single speed bikes. Learning how to maintain their balance can be hard enough and then there’s the turning and braking that is involved. Adding a gear system to a kids’ bike would most likely make it more difficult for them to learn to ride.

Tips for Purchasing the Best Kids Bike

Here, we have our top 5 tips for finding the perfect kids’ bike. Do you have a tip for another shopper trying to find the best kids’ bike for kids between 4 and 5? We’d love to hear about it in the comments!

Tip #1: Find a Lightweight Bicycle for Kids

Many kids’ bikes are made out of steel. This makes them durable, which is important when learning how to ride a bike, but it can also make them heavier. Your child will need to be able to pick up the weight of the bike if it’s laying on the ground and they will need to be able to hold it up if they are standing over it.

Tip #2: Stay Within Your Budget

We mentioned how important keeping to your budget is. However, it’s worth another mention. The bike you choose for your 4- or 5-year-old kid will eventually not fit a 6- or 7- or 8-year-old kid that they grow up to be. Their first bike only has to last a couple of years and keeping that in the back of your mind when choosing one is important.

Tip #3: Steel vs. Aluminum Kids Bikes

We mentioned that most kids’ bikes are made from steel to make them more durable. This also tends to make them more affordable. Aluminum bikes for kids are available and usually cost a bit more, but if your child is having a hard time picking up the weight of a..

Planning Guide For Your London Trip

If you’re planning a trip to London anytime soon, be sure to add one of the best Stonehenge tours from London to your itinerary. But which ones are the best? We’ve reviewed the top 5 Stonehenge tours and provided you with a guide for visiting both Stonehenge and London.

Most likely, your day trip to Stonehenge from London will be a small part of your vacation to this historic English city. Here, we offer a guide to visiting London, from the airport you will be arriving at to other attractions you may want to visit and even the weather.

Let’s help you make the most of your vacation to London!

Airports & Entry

There are five airports that service London, England. If you are traveling abroad, you will most likely be arriving at London Heathrow. For shorter flights departing European airports, should you be heading to London from a previous vacation spot, you may fly into one of these smaller London airports:

  • London City
  • London Gatwick
  • London Luton
  • London Stansted

To enter the United Kingdom, UK, you will need a valid passport. Your passport must be valid for your entire stay and can’t expire before your expected departure.

Planning Tips

Visiting London is unlike visiting any other city on earth. Because of this, you will want to keep some things in mind when planning and packing. We list our top 5 tips for visiting London below. Do you have additional tips to suggest? We’d love for you to comment them below!

Tip #1: Bring Your Walking Shoes

Much of your travel around the city will be walking. Even when you head out of town for a day tour, such as those to Stonehenge, most of the tours require quite a bit of walking. It’s best to be relaxed wearing athletic shoes instead of wearing more fashionable shoes that can make the necessary walking uncomfortable.

Tip #2: Bring a Converter or Transformer

Your electric and electronic devices made for use in the US will not work in the UK without a converter or transformer. A converter is made to use with electronics such as your phone or tablet and a transformer with electric devices such as a hairdryer. The US runs on 120 V and the UK on 240. This means that using your US devices without a voltage converter or transformer in the UK may damage them.

Tip #3: Start Planning Your Trip Early

London receives millions of tourists each year. This means that you will most likely have to book tours well in advance. You should also book your accommodations and reservations in restaurants as soon as possible. This is especially true for tickets to theater events and shows.

Tip #4: Always Bring an Umbrella

It doesn’t matter what time of year you’re visiting London, quick showers and rainstorms are always a possibility. It’s best to bring an umbrella with you as purchasing one at a convenient location in the city will most likely cost much more. A collapsible umbrella that is easy to carry with you is ideal.

Tip #5: Start Budgeting in Advance

London is quite an expensive city to visit but it’s worth it. Be sure you have budgeted for your flight and accommodations as well as your daily meals. You should have plenty of British pounds, the local currency, on hand as taxis and some stores may not take debit or credit cards. Also, keep in mind that the farther out your trip is planned, the better deals you will get, especially on accommodations.

Restaurants & Eating Out

There are several Dishoom restaurants located around the city. These restaurants serve high quality and delicious Indian food within a modern atmosphere. London is one of the best places to enjoy Indian food outside of India. These restaurants often have a wait but the wait is well worth it.

Not only will you want to experience the delicious Indian food, it also wouldn’t be a trip to London without an afternoon tea. There are plenty of places around town to enjoy your tea, but afternoon tea at The Savoy Hotel, London is something not to be missed. Sketch is another afternoon tea hotspot offering a unique experience.

If you’re looking for a meal with a great view, you’ll want to make reservations at the Duck & Waffle. However, don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the most popular meal in London, fish and chips, at many local hotspots.

Nightlife & Entertainment

Nightlife in London can be anything you’d like it to be. There are nighttime tours of the city and surrounding areas for something a little more low-key, or you can head to a nightclub or one of the many music venues to turn up the entertainment dial.

From standup comedy and dramatic theater to the trendy clubs of the West End and even the casinos that can be found around town, nightlife in London is perfect for everyone.

Getting Around

As mentioned, visiting London requires a lot of walking. However, you can also choose to ride the subway, board a boat, or even hop on a bus or take a taxi. You may find the subway also referred to as “the underground” or “the tube.”

The cost of transportation by any of these methods will be determined by your destination’s distance from central London. The city and surrounding areas are divided into zones that determine distance and cost. If you’re going to be visiting for at least a few days, you may want to invest in a daily or weekly Travelcard pass.

Accommodations

There are many choices in accommodations when visiting London. You may find a great Airbnb location, and you can also find everything from a small hostel to a five-star, luxury hotel. The accommodations you choose should be determined by your budget, but also by the type of experience you’re looking for. An Airbnb can instantly make you feel like a local.

A hostel can provide plenty of opportunities to meet other tourists and learn more about attractions and eateries. If you’re looking for a luxury experience, the Camden Enterprise Hotel or even the Dorset City London can provide it.

Weather

The average low temperatures during the winter months are in the mid-40s Fahrenheit or around 7°C. These mild winter temperatures make London an ideal vacation spot for the holidays. July, London’s hottest month of the year, usually doesn’t reach the 70s Fahrenheit, or above 18⁰ Celsius.

Even with mild temperatures during the summer, it can feel quite humid and you may run into a short shower or two. Once again, always have an umbrella handy.

Attractions

A vacation to London necessitates a visit to Buckingham Palace. Other attractions include the Coca-Cola London Eye, the Ferris wheel easily seen in every London skyline, as well as historical landmarks such as Kensington Palace, the London Tower, or the Churchill War Rooms.

While in London, be sure to visit one of the many museums and art galleries that can be found in nearly every area of the city. Parks, waterfronts, and bridges provide great photo ops and can provide a beautiful place to rest and take in the local sights.

The History, Beauty, in the Cotswolds and Oxford

When planning your vacation to London, be sure to plan for a day trip to the Cortswods  while there. The best guided tour from London to Oxford and the Cotswords will allow you to experience the English countryside.

However, that doesn’t mean you can skip on visiting the many museums and art galleries, enjoying some of the best food available, and taking time to appreciate the beautiful mix of modern style and historical sites that London provides.

Enjoy your trip to London!

Assembly is actually quite easy, especially if you have more than one person working on it. If you need to take it down when temperatures drop, it’s easy to dismantle and stow away.

If you need to clean it, it’s also very low-maintenance thanks to the polyester canopy which resists stains and rips very well.

Coming in Canvas Aruba, the backyard gazebo goes well with just about any kind of décor or natural environment.

Use it at home or for commercial use; it works great for just about any occasion where you’d need shielding from the sun. The soft-top canopy does exactly that, with its UV-treated polyester that keeps you and guests safe from the sun’s harmful rays.

Durable steel construction ensures you’ll be able to use the model in all kinds of weather, made to last for years to come. As it’s also powder-coated, it’s resistant to chipping, rusting, peeling, and corrosion.

Gazelle Tents G6 Pop-Up Portable 6-Sided Hub at a Glance:
  • Size: 92 Square Feet
  • Frame: Fiberglass
  • Top: Fabric/Mesh
Pop up gazebos are incredibly useful for when you want a completely enclosed space outdoors. The Gazelle Tents G6 model made our list due to how affordable it was, while providing a great amount of versatility and protection.

As you may be able to deduce from the name, the model “pops up” in just 60 seconds. That puts it on a whole different level of convenience that’s hard to achieve by most other outdoor gazebos. In addition, it’s just as easy to take down, coming with a handy carry bag.

You may have noticed that this tent is also a bit larger than the previous two; holding up to 8 people rather than 6. The octagon design makes it easier to fit in tables and chairs, as well.

Each corner is reinforced with an additional fabric layer, as well as strong pole pockets so you can use this model for many years.

The roof helps block the sun’s rays, but is also sealed to be water repellant – perfect for any season. The tight weave mesh panels can be shut with heavy-duty YKK zippers that don’t snag or get stuck, keeping all insects outside.

The Sonoma Outdoor Iron Gazebo may look visually appealing, but it’s just as tough as it is beautiful. Made with a soft but durable polyester covering, you’ll have all the shade you need with a clean and fresh feeling rarely felt in the summer heat.

The steel frame is just as strong, holding up well in moisture just as well as high temperatures. The canopy comes in either Beige or Light Brown, but we felt that the Beige added a nicer contrast to the outdoors than the Brown did.

Adjustable netting completely encloses the cheap gazebo to add extra protection from the UV rays during the day, from the wind at night, and from insects all-around.  You get to choose how far you’d like them closed.

If you live in an area where there’s quick and unexpected rainfall, you may find water gathers in a pocket. The upside to this, is that the design features thick Velcro straps to ensure it stays where it should, never dropping.

Should you need to relocate it, both setup and take-down is quick and simple. The precise construction of every element means that you don’t have to struggle in doing either one.

  • Size: 8’ x 10.8’

The Sunnyglade may be the most elegant-looking patio gazebo we’ve seen, but what we were really impressed with was its performance.

At first glance, you’ll see a stunning gazebo with a fabric roof and two walls. The enclosure wall kit features 200g polyester fabric, which are freely disassembled. These make for a quick little shelter which is great when the sun really starts beaming.

However, these walls are easy to remove and even adjust. You can place them sticking out to add much more shade if more people are added to your party.

The double-vented roof makes sure to hold up against the sun and wind, but also allow for excellent airflow so all guests feel refreshed rather than smothered.

Not only that, but it really adds to the design and can turn any outdoor area into a serene yet sophisticated environment. For an even more dramatic look, hang some lights from the center hook!

Coming with 8 stakes and large footing, you can rest assured your gazebo kit will stay right where you want it, without blowing away or coming loose.

How To Choose The Best Gazebo

Are you looking to makeover your outdoor living space or just add some extra character to your backyard? A gazebo is the perfect way to instantly do so, while giving you a special space to gather with your loved ones.

Don’t be afraid to make your yard look good! One of the best gazebos is an incredibly quick and simple way to improve the style while allowing you and your guests a little oasis without spending much money.

However, it can be hard to choose the perfect product for you. That’s why we’ve decided to take matters into our own hands and write up the user-friendly buying guide below. It should help you to decide on the best gazebo for the money.

Intended Use

First, you should figure out what you’re actually going to be using your new gazebo for. Will you be using it to keep your pillows and cushions from patio furniture or will you be using it as a little retreat for guests while barbecuing? Some are easier to transport than others, and vary quite a bit in size and function.

Size and Shape

As you can see from the above products, gazebos vary in terms of size, shape, and style. Think about the current décor you have going on, or the vision you have for the future. Then, try to match the correct product to fit that theme.

You’ll find gazebos in square shapes most often, but will often see octagons, rectangles, ovals, and more. If you’re going to be using long tables or similar pieces of furniture inside the gazebo, then we recommend opting for either a rectangle or oval-shaped model. The others are perfect for various chairs with a barbecue or some type of central point of focus.

The 10’ x 10’ seems to be the standard size of gazebos out there currently, but it’s not a rule. This size can comfortably fit around 6 people, depending on their size, too. Make sure you’re fully aware of any HOA policies relating to the size of gazebos.

Material

This not only involves looks, but also maintenance and function. Commonly considered the most attractive are woods such as pine, cedar, and redwood.

However, these can be more expensive and they also love to attract moisture which can break them down and rot.

Steel is incredibly durable, albeit a bit heavy. Aluminum is almost just as durable but is very lightweight and easy to travel with!

Open or Enclosed

This is all up to your personal preference in the end, but you may also want to consider your surroundings. Do mosquitos love to come out and feast on your guests?

If so, then you’ll appreciate some included mosquito netting which will keep them out and away from the fun you’re having.

Of course, you can almost always add on netting to a model that doesn’t initially come with it. Other models will have removable walls or screens, such as the Sunnyglade. These are great because you can choose how they work, depending on the weather and the season.

Price

Of course, you’ll want to come up with a solid number in mind before you set out shopping. Try not to go over this number you’ve set for yourself, so as to avoid any potential buyer’s remorse. In this case, price doesn’t always equal quality.

FAQs Q: Where should I place my gazebo?

A: First, you’ll want to find a clear, open space that isn’t near any sharp objects or too close to a body of water. Always make sure that you place your gazebo on a flat area. Decks, concrete, and paving bricks are generally going to be level, so this may be the ideal place for you.

Q: How long does it take to set up a gazebo?

A: This will vary by product. For example, our pop-up model we’ve featured takes a mere 60 seconds, while there are others on our list that can take an entire afternoon.

Q: Will I require a building permit?

A: This varies so greatly, we wouldn’t be able to give you an accurate answer. It’s a good idea to look up your city building permits or check with your local code office.

Q: Do I have to anchor my gazebo down?

A: It may not be necessary, but if you live in a windy environment, then it’s a strong suggestion that you do unless you want it to blow away.

Buyer’s Tips #1: To prepare your gazebo for wintertime, make sure to properly maintain it.

This means sweeping and raking up leaves and other debris from the floor and walls of the model, as well as any spiderwebs or other unwanted pests and dirt that you wouldn’t want in there.

#2: To always make sure you’re running a safe environment, never use a gas patio heater inside.

Wineries and Vineyards From Rome – Travel Guide

Some visitors to Rome plan their visit specifically around the Vatican and related locations, such as the Sistine Chapel. However, you’ll still want to be aware of accommodations, the expected weather, and even other attractions you may want to visit while visiting Rome.

As you learn more about vacationing in Rome, you may want to plan for a few extra days to truly get the most out of your time in this ancient city. What attractions are you looking forward to the most when you visit Rome? Where do you plan on staying? We’d love to hear about your plans! If you’ve already visited Rome, let us know what you enjoyed the most.

Airports & Entry

When headed to Rome, you’ll most likely land at the Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport. This airport is the largest in Italy. Most foreign tourists, no matter their final destination in Italy, land in Rome. This means the airport is usually very crowded. However, this airport is also fairly easy to navigate.

To visit Italy, you must have a valid passport that has at least six months remaining before expiration. You can stay up to 90 days in the country for business or tourist reasons without a visa so long as your passport is valid.

Planning Tips

Before you start packing your bags, you’ll want to know how to make your trip easier and how to get the most out of your time in Rome. These top 5 planning tips can help you do just that.

Tip #1: Dress Appropriately for your Visit to the Vatican

Because the Vatican Museums, as well as the Sistine Chapel, are religious places, you’ll need to dress appropriately.

Your shoulders, knees, and abdomen should be completely covered. Your clothes should not have inappropriate graphics or sayings. If security personnel believe you are dressed inappropriately, you won’t be allowed in. This is true even if you are on a private tour.

Tip #2: Plan Everything in Advance

There are millions of visitors to Rome and the Vatican every year. This means that some of the attractions you are looking forward to may be sold out or closed by the time you arrive.

The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are a great example of this. If you are traveling to Rome around the time of religious holidays, these attractions may be closed to the public as well as to guided tours.

While many guided tours have backup plans in the event a scheduled location is closed unexpectedly, you should research your trip to make sure the places you wish to visit should be open.

Tip #3: Choose a Tour of the Vatican

If you plan on visiting the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and other popular places within Vatican City, purchasing a guided tour is a good idea.

The lines for general admission to many of these places can stretch for blocks and getting in may not be guaranteed. With a guided tour, like the ones we’ve reviewed above, you are guaranteed access so long as it isn’t closed for religious reasons. Plus, you will be able to skip the long lines.

Tip #4: Only Carry What You Need

While this is true wherever you are visiting within the city of Rome, it is especially true when visiting the Vatican. Large bags, umbrellas, camera tripods, and other cumbersome items aren’t allowed within the Vatican Museums and related locations.

You can store them in the cloakroom provided for free, but you may end up having to leave your tour early to retrieve them before closing time. It’s best to carry only what you need when touring the Vatican.

Tip #5: Visit on a Wednesday

If you’re looking forward to seeing the Pope and to the papal audience, you’ll want to plan your visit for a Wednesday. While there are occasional deviations from the Wednesday schedule, you’ll most likely be able to see the weekly message on that day. In fact, the Papal Audience and Vatican Museums tour we reviewed above guarantees you will see the Pope as part of the papal audience as long as he delivers his message on schedule.

Restaurants & Eating Out

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Right? There is no better time to follow this rule then when it comes to dining. Eating out in Rome is probably much more affordable than you would’ve thought. Of course, you’ll want to savor a true Italian pizza.

The best place for this is La Gatta Mangiona. This casual restaurant is well known for its thin crust pizzas and may very well have been the start of the pizza craze in Rome.

If you’re looking for lighter fare, stop by Il Forno Campo de’ Fiori. The restaurant serves up delicious soups, sandwiches, salads, and light snacks. The bakery next door produces delicious biscuits, pastries, and more. Both the restaurant and the bakery offer take out so you can avoid the long lines.

While there are many places to get your fill of gelato in Rome, the Gelateria del Teatro is one of the most popular. You’ll find all the traditional flavors and occasionally come across an experiment or two. Have you ever tried raspberry and sage gelato?

NOTE: When it comes to leaving a tip at a restaurant, it’s important not to be too generous. Tipping more than 10% is often frowned upon. Also, you’ll rarely have an opportunity to leave a tip when using a debit or credit card. You’ll want to have a few euros on hand for tips as well as small purchases.

Nightlife & Entertainment

The nightlife in Rome is just as mixed as the combination of both ancient and modern seen all over the city. The Antica Enoteca has one of the most extensive wine lists in Rome and offers a rustic and casual atmosphere. If you’re looking for a traditional bar, you’ll want to stop by the American Bar at the Hotel Forum.

When it comes to cocktails, Rome offers ingenuity and imagination. Take the Carbonara Sour at Co.So Cocktail & Social, for example. This delicious cocktail might be a little different, containing black pepper and egg whites along with other ingredients, but is one of their most popular drinks.

If cocktails aren’t your thing and you’d rather sit down with a craft beer, stop by Brasserie 4:20. This small pub is warm and welcoming, and so is their list of craft beers on tap, plus a selection of whiskeys, bourbons, and other fine drinks.

Getting Around

While there is a great public transportation system in place, it’s often easier to get around in Rome by walking. You can get nearly everywhere you need to go by lacing up your tennis shoes and going for a stroll. If you’re going a longer distance, you might want to take a bus. A 100-minute bus ticket is quite affordable, as is the day pass.

Renting a car in Rome isn’t a good idea. Those unfamiliar with the city can have a difficult time maneuvering. If car travel is best, you’ll want to take a taxi. You can only grab a taxi in designated areas. Hailing for a cab outside of these areas is frowned upon.

Taxis can be on the expensive side but if you’re going a fair distance and you’d rather not take a bus, a taxi can be quite effective.

Accommodations

When it comes to accommodations in Rome, you’ll see inexpensive hotels and luxury resorts. The cheaper places to stay are often farther away, very small, or offer very few amenities. Most of these hotels aren’t recommended for tourists.

There is no shortage of luxury hotels in Rome, however. The G-Rough is located inside a 16th-century palazzo and epitomizes the history and art that Rome is famous for.

While staying at a luxury resort is ideal, it may not always be feasible. A great mid-range hotel that offers many of the benefits of a luxury resort without the price tag, is the Nerva Boutique Hotel. With just 19 rooms, guests can enjoy modern design, great food, as well as a great location.

Weather

July and August are the hottest months in Rome. The average temperature is somewhere around 78°F. For many, the 48°F average temperature in Rome in January is very mild. However, if you want to enjoy Rome with better chances of great weather, you’ll want to visit in the spring or the fall.

Attractions

Rome is full of attractions you can visit around your tour of the Vatican. The National Roman Museum is family-friendly and houses many interesting artifacts. The Basilica of San Clemente is not just a church, but also an archaeological site.

The newer building at the entry level dates back to the 12th-century while you can head downstairs to the original basilica built in the 4th-century AD.

If you’d like to see some of the more ancient attractions around Rome, you have several options. The Roman Forum is the location where Romulus made the founding of the city of Rome official. It was once the epicenter of Roman life.

Ostia Antica is just 25-minutes away by train. This location was once a thriving center of commerce. Today, you can explore over 100 acres of ancient shops, baths, temples, and even apartment buildings and houses.

The Vatican’s Treasures: Both Seen & Felt

A tour of the Vatican is a must if you’re planning a vacation to Rome. The arts, architecture, and history contained within Vatican City simply can’t be experienced anywhere else. Whether you choose a short, 3-hour tour to see the basics or you opt for the VIP Vatican Experience, it’s guaranteed this is a trip you’ll never forget.

Greenhouse Kit Reviews

#1 Quictent Portable Greenhouse

The Quictent Portable Greenhouse is not only convenient and easy to setup, it’s very large at 12’ x 7’ x 7′.

The design is large enough to house various trees and plants of your choosing, while still allowing them each the space they need to be happy.

The white powder-coated steel frame is incredibly tough and is resistant to rusting and corrosion to be safely used in all kinds of weather. 8 bases and 16 stakes ensure that it holds up in storms, resisting snow and wind.

The cover is made of transparent reinforced polyethylene which is not only waterproof, but completely UV-resistant to protect your plants from excess sunlight.

The overlong cover design is made to keep the greenhouse safer and tighter with the ability of burying it in the dirt so the elements don’t get inside.

Not only that, but it’s also ideal for creating and maintaining high humidity levels that many tropical plants require to thrive.

However, ventilation is no issue thanks to the 6 side vents which give your plants the perfect amount of airflow.

The zippered front and back doors can also be used for ventilation if you’d like, while being able to stay securely closed when you need them to. After all, this is the best backyard greenhouse you can find out there.

#2 Giantex Garden Portable Wood Frame Greenhouse

If the last product was too big for your needs, check out the best small greenhouse: the Giantex Garden Portable Wooden Cold Frame Greenhouse.

The solid Fir wood frame not only looks nice but is made for heavy-duty use. This means that you can easily use it outdoors and hold relatively heavy pots inside.

The foldable top is incredibly useful for every season. When it’s sunny, simply open it up and let your plants enjoy.

The polycarbonate glazing board is not just there for visual aesthetics, but works to keep plants warm. When it’s rainy, leave it closed so they aren’t affected.

As far as space goes, you have the top compartment where you can fit various types of plants and vegetables, and the bottom shelf which gives you even more versatility. Here, you can place gardening tools, rainboots, or whatever else you’d like.

While assembly is required, all parts are detachable, making it incredibly versatile. You can break it down into smaller pieces for easy transportation if you need to relocate it as the seasons change.

#3 GoSunny Deluxe Walk in Green House

Perhaps you want something in-between the previous two greenhouses; not quite as big as the first but larger than the Giantex.

If so, then take a good look at the Deluxe Green House. It’s the perfect size for many, as you can if you’d like, fit in trees, but a huge amount of plants as well.

With 12 shelves (6 on each side), you’ll have more than enough space for whatever you need, while allowing each individual plant enough room to breathe and flourish.

Each shelf is made of wiring so they can breathe from the bottom as well, without risk of water pooling.

The walk-in design is perfect for tending to all of your blooming flowers, veggies, and more while giving extra room to larger plants. The entrance features a zippered roll-up door which isn’t the most secure but does allow for easy access.

Built with heavy-duty powder-coated steel, it’s surprisingly resilient against the elements – even wind and storms. With 4 ropes and 4 stakes, you can properly secure it to the ground, making sure it doesn’t go anywhere. We would’ve preferred a more airtight design, but it’s not bad by any means.

The reinforced green polyethylene cover is quite thick and designed to help hold up against various types of weather.

With the best mini greenhouse being so easy to set up and break down, you can also move it inside your garage when the temperatures drop, or remove the PVC cover in the heat.

#4 Palram HG5006G Mythos Greenhouse

A truly stunning piece of equipment in both looks and functionality, the Palram HG5006G Mythos Greenhouse is one of our favorites all-around.

The see-through design is made to combine modern and traditional elements to create a head-turning greenhouse you and your neighbors will love.

The polycarbonate roof and wall panels are surprisingly easy to see through yet provide 100% UV protection and over 90% light transmission right to your plants.

These panels ensure they get enough sun, but not too much. They’re also sturdy to a point where they’re virtually unbreakable, resisting any kind of weather with ease.

With an aluminum frame, you’ll get a product that’s relatively lightweight yet tough enough to withstand moisture and extreme temperatures. The frame snaps together so quickly that even if you’re not DIY-savvy, you’ll have a good time putting it up.

A single double-hung door is there to keep out animals and other intruders, while allowing plants the proper ventilation they need.

This model is one of the most secure and stable in just about every aspect. Small but important additions such as built-in rain gutters and manual roof vents only add to the versatility it offers.

While it doesn’t come with shelves, you can always buy as many as you need, separately. There is enough room to fill it completely with an abundance of beautiful plants.

#5 Nova 4 Tier Mini Greenhouse

One of the best indoor greenhouses that can be used outside as well, is the 4 Tier Mini Greenhouse with PE Cover. It’s relatively small-looking from the outside, but fits in a great amount of pots and plants.

The 4-tier design protects plants from the elements and is perfect for beginner seedlings or protecting delicate plants.

With the frame made of high-quality tubular steel with powder-coated bearing net, this is also one of the toughest models available today.

It’s so durable, in fact, that you could probably leave it out in the snow with no issue, although that’s obviously not going to be great for plants. Despite this, the frame is quite light and easy to move around if you need to.

The net on every layer allows you to hold more pots and plants, and even growth lights if you need. They’ve managed to create stability while never forgetting the aesthetic appeal that greenhouses can have.

The light mint green cover contrasts perfectly with the black steel, jiving well with stones, wood, or greenery.

To keep your plants happy, you’ll find a zippered roll-up door which provides quick access, while allowing for excellent airflow.

You’ll also receive a PE cloth and non-woven fabric cover which will help keep them in optimal conditions throughout the year. Because of these reasons and more, it’s obvious to see why it’s one of the best portable greenhouses.

If you’re serious about your plants and show no signs of slowing down, then check out the Palram HG5508 Hybrid Greenhouse.

It’s by no means cheap, but it’s well worth it if you’re looking for real quality. The best small greenhouse is relatively compact, while still offering ample space for whatever you need.

Trees, plants, flowers, vegetables, pots, tools and more seamlessly fit in this beauty.

With completely clear polycarbonate side panels, your plants will receive up to 90% light transmission which will keep them happy and healthy.

The clear design is wonderful for keeping them protected while letting others spectate, adding life and character to your yard.

The virtually unbreakable 4mm twin-wall polycarbonate roof panels are not only strong, but prevent up to 99.9% of UV rays from getting in.

By diffusing the sunlight, this eliminates the risk of plant burn, which can be hard to avoid without such a fixture.

The frame is comprised of aluminum which is not only resistant to rust, but also very lightweight and heavy-duty. The base is made of galvanized steel to help provide more strength to the structure, as well.

To add to the versatility and convenience, the model also features an adjustable roof vent, rain gutters, and a lockable door handle with magnetic door catch. It’s one of the most secure we’ve come across, and will eliminate the risk of any unwanted visitors coming inside.

If that weren’t enough for you, they’ve also thrown in a generous 5-year limited warranty so you’re not losing anything by purchasing with them.

  • Size: 6’ x 8’ x 7’

#7 Outsunny Portable Walk-In Garden Greenhouse

Slightly smaller than the previous product, is the Outsunny Polycarbonate Portable Walk-In Garden Greenhouse. The dark-green-and-clear model is the perfect addition to any backyard or garden.

The UV-resistant polycarbonate sheets are made to prevent them from getting burned, allowing just enough natural light to pass through to keep them blossoming as they should.

This design is made to hold up well in high winds and rain. The sliding door offers quick access, but is still made to be durable and protect against any unwanted creatures/weather from coming inside.

Assembly was suggested by the instructions to be performed by 2 people, but it’s actually possible to do with just one. The process was surprisingly easy and quick, despite being such a relatively large structure.

Unfortunately, the Outsunny doesn’t come with any shelves, but you’re more than welcome to add in some yourself, as there’s plenty of room.

How to Choose the Best Greenhouse – Buying Guide Palram HG5006G Mythos Greenhouse

There’s so much thought to be placed into buying the best greenhouse. Not only does it regard your preferences, but also the needs of your plants and the size of the available space you have. That’s why we’ve decided to take matters into our own hands and write up this handy buying guide for you.

Size

When it comes to greenhouses, yes, size matters. What do you have in mind? Do you already have the plants you’re going to place inside or are you buying the greenhouse and deciding later? If the latter is true, then what kind of vision do you have?

Will you have a bunch of smaller plants or will you have large, luscious trees? If you’re just getting into gardening, then a kind of “starter” or beginner greenhouse may be the best solution. These models allow you to get your plants started, so you can then migrate them outside once they’ve gotten big enough.

Again, consider how much size you have available, too. If you’re going to be placing it indoors, chances are you’ll be tight on space and a starter kit may also be best.

Ventilation

A good greenhouse provides the perfect combination between protection and ventilation. It’s kind of like an incubator for plants. However, there are so many plants that have suffered because the greenhouse got too hot or too humid.

The key is to release the hot air when it’s hot outside, and keep the hot air inside when it’s cold outdoors. Vents are a great way of accomplishing this, as they can be opened and closed as you’d like.

Insulation

Depending on the kind of climate you live in, you may need to add some insulation into the mix. If you live in a colder environment, then thicker insulation is necessary. A twin-wall polyethylene will definitely do the job, keeping in natural warmth which can save a pretty penny on heating.

Panels

Panels are a crucial part of the greenhouse, and if they’re not working perfectly, your plants could suffer.

Panels of the Palram HG5006G Mythos Greenhouse Clarity

Many on our guide feature crystal-clear panels, which let you see completely through them. Some people like these types, while others like them to come off a bit more elusive.

Aside from preference however, clear panels let in more light, which creates better photosynthesis. These are ideal if you have taller plants that love growing towards the light.

UV Protection

In contrast, you also want the panels to provide adequate protection from the sun’s rays. If they don’t, neither your plants nor your greenhouse is going to stick around for very long. When you combine sun and plastic, nothing good is going to come out of that, which is why protective coating is so important.

Glass

Panels made of glass look gorgeous and are very resistant to impact, as well as the movements of the frame during temperature changes. The thicker it is, the more insulation it will provide. Also, you won’t have to worry about scratches.

Polycarbonate

This is one of our favorite materials for greenhouses, due to how light and durable polycarbonate is. In addition, it’s a bit more budget-friendly than glass is. You’ll receive the clarity of glass, but not the raw strength. If you do properly care for it, however, you can expect it to last for many years to come.

Fiberglass

This material isn’t as clear as the previous two, but is made to diffuse lighting quite well. It is relatively strong, but after a few years, you may see a bit of yellowing start to appear due to sunlight.

Polyethylene

Commonly known as “plastic” this material is one of the most common due to how cheap they are, and easy to maintain. Most are perfectly translucent, providing diffused light. We recommend polyethylene only if you’re living in more temperate/warm climates.

Frame Aluminum frame of the Palram HG5006G Mythos Greenhouse

The frame is another huge aspect, ultimately determining how long it’s going to last. Frame materials vary from wood, plastic, steel, or aluminum.

Wood: Wood is arguably the most visually attractive option, offering a kind of “natural” or “rustic” feel to a garden or balcony. However, it also loves moisture and breaks down relatively quickly.

Plastic: As previously mentioned, plastic requires a type of protective coating or it’s not going to last at all in the summer heat.

Steel: Steel is incredibly tough but often need some extra maintenance. It’s also known to be quite heavy, though it should last a long time if properly cared for.

Aluminum: Aluminum is lightweight but very tough, and is often resistant against rust so it fares well in all kinds of weather.

FAQs About Greenhouses Q: How long will my new greenhouse last?

A: This will depend quite a bit on how you maintain it, and the material it’s made out of. However, for most on our guide, you can expect them to last anywhere from 10 to 15 years.

Q: Will my greenhouse require complete sunlight?

A: If you can, try and find a place where it will receive at minimum, 6 hours of direct sunlight each day during the winter. If that’s not possible, you can also add in some grow lights to help.

Q: How can I cool down my greenhouse?

A: The easiest way to do so is through ventilation, so purchasing a model that already comes with built-in vents is an excellent way to combat heat. Another option is to provide shade.

Q: What are the benefits of a greenhouse?

A: The main benefit, is that your plants have the chance to grow better. Those that experience extreme cold and heat over 24 hours don’t grow anywhere near as well as greenhouse plants. By using a greenhouse, they’ll be in a temperature-controlled environment.

Tips For Using a Greenhouse

#1: Always make sure your plants have proper ventilation.
Not only can this create too much heat, but there are plenty of pests out there that attack plants which are in a closed..

How to Choose the Best Yoga Paddle Board – Buying Guide

Purchasing the best yoga paddle board for you isn’t always the easiest process. You have to consider what type of water you’ll be on, what you’ll actually be doing on the board, and your body itself.

We’ve decided to take it upon ourselves to write up the user-friendly buying guide, below. This way, after you’re doing reading, you’ll have no doubt as to which is the one for you.

Board Length

You probably don’t want to skip out on length when it comes to a new paddle board. Shorter models may be able to make sharper turns, but for yoga, that’s not really going to be necessary.

Longer boards give you more space for you to pull off your poses and keep anything extra onboard you may need. Also, when you’re standing up, it will give you more freedom to move as you wish.

Weight Capacity

Even if you have the best yoga paddle board in the world, it’s not going to be of much use to you if it’s not able to support your weight. Don’t just think about your own weight, but anything else you may be taking along.

It’s often recommended that you should also count an extra 20% of your weight before selecting a board, just to be safe, especially when doing various poses.

Inflatable vs Rigid Paddle Boards

There are quite important differences between the two, but it will all come down to your preferences and needs.

Inflatable Paddle Board

These are known to be much more portable, due to the fact that you can simply deflate them and roll them up to be stowed away. You can even take them on a plane if you need to.

This also means that if you don’t have a lot of storage space, you should opt for an inflatable. Inflatables aren’t going to ding or get scratched if you accidentally knock them on something or drop them, making them ideal for rocky areas. However, they don’t navigate waters quite as well as rigid models do.

Rigid / Epoxy

Rigid boards may be bulkier and more difficult to transport, but there’s a reason why some people prefer them over inflatable ones.

Their performance just can’t be matched, with greater levels of agility and better glide. However, if you’re just using them for yoga, then this may not be of as much importance to you.

Be sure to think out how you will get your SUP to the water. Do you have a vehicle that you can put it in? If not you will need a roof rack.

Board Width

Width is going to play a huge factor in how successful you are in yoga paddle boarding. As you know, balance is essential in both of these activities.

When you put them together, you can imagine it’s even more crucial. Width is what’s going to really help you keep you balanced and give you the room you need to pull off these poses. 32” should be the minimum to look for. Anything less wide it will be difficult to maintain the balance need to yoga poses.

Comfort

Comfort is crucial to any sport you do, as being uncomfortable is not only irritating and detracts from the experience but can even cause injury after long periods of time.

Some boards will come with a type of EVA foam cover which not only helps you keep a good grip, but also adds a great amount of comfort. This means you’ll be able to be out on the water for longer without getting uncomfortable while actually enjoying it more.

This deck pad covers around ¾ of the board’s surface usually and should be luxurious with a smooth feeling that won’t give your skin irritation.

Misc Paddle Board Considerations Handles

Not many people consider this if they’re just starting out, but look for a center handle which has the ability to lay flat. That way, you can sit or lay on it without discomfort or inconvenience. There are a few models which also have removable grips, so you can easily transport your board, but still use it without interruption.

Deck Padding

The padding on the board is an important consideration, especially for yoga paddle boards. The thicker the pad the more comfortable it will be when performing your poses. You want the padding to cover as much of the deck as possible so you can utilize more of the board.

This is even more importany ff you think you will have other riders along or maybe your dog. All SUPs are not equal in this regard! The THURSO SURF Tranquility is ideal as most of the board has a good slip resistant deck pad.

Fins

The fins on the bottom of the paddle board are what aid in “tracking” or the ability to keep the paddle board in a straight line while paddling. A SUP that doesn’t track will tend to turn with each stroke of the paddle.

Inflatable SUPs are usually of the “tri-fin” design as you can see in the image below. The layout is a larger center fin of roughly 5″- 6″ with two smaller side fins. Most paddle boards will have the ability to remove all the fins so it rolls up better.

Rigid epoxy SUPs on the other hand typically come with one larger center fin that is removable. Since rigid SUPs tend to track better they usually only have the one center fin.

Ease of Transport

In considering how easy it is to transport your paddle board, an inflatable SUP will win most every time. It is one of the primary reasons to choose an iSUP.  They can be rolled up and stored in a backpack that will fit in most any car.

With iSUPs the carry bag that they come with is a big factor. In this regard the THURSO SURF Tranquility is the clear winner with its 3 wheeled backpack. This makes it very easy to transport over pavement because you can pull it behind you like a suitcase.

Other iSUPs you will need to put on your back and carry it. Rigid SUPs will need to be transported on a roof rack if you don’t have a pickup truck so you can put in the bed.

Speed/Ease of Inflation

Obviously this is only a factor with an iSUP and is determined by the volume of the SUP and the pump you are using.

If you plan on using your iSUP a lot, I would HIGHLY recommend an electric pump that plugs into your car accessory outlet or connected to an 12V battery.

SUP Accessories

The extras that come with a board can be a make-it-or-break-it scenario if you’re looking to save money. Many come with a complete package that has essentially everything you need to have a great experience.

Paddle

You’ll definitely want one with a paddle; ideally made from fiberglass or carbon fiber. These are both very lightweight materials but are incredibly durable so you get the best of both worlds.

Make sure it’s adjustable, so anyone of any height can use it.

Carry Bag

Particularly if you have an inflatable SUP, a carry bag is an important consideration. The THURSO SURF notably has a wheeled carry bag. This is a huge advantage allowing you to pull the SUP behind you like a suitcase instead of having to carry it on your back!

Leash

An ankle leash is always helpful in that you won’t lose track of your board if you accidentally fall off.

FAQs About Yoga Paddle Boards Q: What exactly is SUP yoga?

A: It’s where you use a stand up paddleboard (SUP) to do yoga on. Both require great amounts of balance, and putting the two together can not only help you advance more quickly, but can give you a serene environment found nowhere else. These paddleboards have been created to be a bit more stable than your regular SUPs, and place special focus on comfort.

Q: What are the benefits?

A: Yoga alone improves flexibility, but both activities work to strengthen the muscles and the mind. Expect to also see an improvement in mental clarity and circulation.

Q: Can more than one person use my new board?

A: It’s not recommended that more than one person use it at a time, but if you have an adjustable paddle, then there’s no reason why more than one person can’t take advantage of the board.

Q: How do I properly maintain my board?

A: It’s a good idea to spray or wipe the board down with fresh water after every use – especially if you’re going to be using it in saltwater. When you go to stow it away make sure it’s completely dry, and try to keep it in a place away from direct sunlight.

Tips For Using Your Paddle Board #1: Make sure you’re using your paddle the correct way.

While it may seem intuitive to use the paddle to kind of “scoop” the water out, this is actually not very effective at all. Turning it around will give you a smoother stroke, and will result in less stress on your arms, shoulders, and elbows.

#2: Also make sure you’re facing the right way.

If you’re not already a surfer, then it may not be obvious which side is the nose or tail. The easiest way to do this is to take a look at the fins and see where they’re located. Those at the rear help with tracking, which will make it easier to catch little waves while keeping the board straight.

#3: To increase stability, always look towards the horizon.

While it may feel natural to look at the water by your feet or even at the board, it’s a bad idea to do so. This can easily cause you to lose stability and fall in.

#4: Always keep an eye on weather conditions before heading out.

The forecast will let you know when you should pack up and head back, or not go out at all. The worst time to go out, as you can imagine, is during the rainy/windy conditions. However, if you do happen to be caught out there in the wind, lay down as low as you can and paddle like you would on surfboard.

Snorkel Mask Reviews

#1 Phantom Aquatics Panoramic Scuba Mask Snorkel Set

On its own, the Phantom Aquatics Panoramic Scuba Mask Snorkel Set is an excellent product. When you add in the fact that it’s also one of the most affordable models out there, it’s practically impossible to pass up.

What fun is snorkeling if you can’t see properly? The 3-sided tempered glass design provides uninterrupted views, including peripherals.

Not only that, but it’s incredibly durable due to the material and the single lens design so you’re sure to have it for countless snorkeling trips to come.

To ensure the perfect fit, the lens is outlined by a double sealed silicone skirt which feels soft and smooth against the skin. It doesn’t work against your face; rather the pliable material moves with it.

Combine that, with the frame and you’ll never have to worry about the fit being off. Made of polycarbonate, it’s notably tough and lightweight – two essential traits for underwater use.

The EZ Equalize nose pocket makes it easy to clear water from the mask, while giving you adequate room.

The entire set is quite fashionable, with the majority of the product coming in Clear, with either yellow or deep red accents. The large exhaust and purge valve at the bottom also help with water clearing, but are made in such a way that the tube is flexible enough to naturally bend toward the mouth.

While we didn’t experience any fog ourselves, it is important to note that the lenses don’t come with any type of anti-fog coating.

#2 WildHorn Outfitters Seaview 180 V2 Full Face Snorkel Mask

Easily one of the most head-turning models available today is the WildHorn Outfitters Seaview 180 V2 Full Face Snorkel Mask. The design not only looks like something you’d see in Tron, but is made to reinvent masks to be more convenient and comfortable.

You don’t have to deal with high pressure just around your eyes, but rather, evenly-distributed pressure all the way around your face.

You can’t get a wider view than the 180 degrees they offer, either. The flat lens is incredibly clear, though there was the normal bit of distortion around the peripherals.

To try and eliminate fogginess, they’ve separated the breathing chamber. Water seeping in isn’t an issue, either, thanks to the soft silicone skirt and optimized snorkel location.

The fit is snug to ensure water stays out, but is never uncomfortable. Diving underwater wasn’t an issue for us, however, it’s better to do so at a bit of an angle.

Should any water sneak in, the purge valve at the mask base opens right when you lift it out of the water.

One of the biggest stressors for snorkelers is breathing, and it’s pretty understandable why! This model makes it easier than ever before to breathe naturally with a mask on.

The top-dry design makes sure water never gets into the breathing chamber. The optimized position of the air intake lets you breathe normally through your mouth and nose, letting you relax and focus on your form instead.

The polycarbonate lens and frame ensures durability, and the entire mask is visually aesthetic, coming in an array of modern colorways.

If you’d like to attach a GoPro to show the world your adventures, the mask even includes a swiveling camera mount located under the chin!

#3 Cressi Panoramic Wide View Mask Dry Snorkel Set

The Italian company is known around the world for their high-quality products, and their Panoramic Wide View Dry Snorkel Set is exemplary of the standard they’ve set.

Not only will it provide excellent visibility, but comfort and fit, too. Coming in either black or clear with various complementary color options, you can select the one that suits your tastes most.

The double feathered silicone skirt surrounding the mask is soft and moves with the individual shape of your face to eliminate pain and discomfort.

Speaking of which, we found this mask to work well for both adults and children due to the quick-adjust straps.

These push-button buckles also make it easy to adjust if you’re in the middle of a dive and need a firmer seal. The split straps ensure the mask won’t slide off and that the pressure is distributed evenly.

Water in the mask is very rare, with the purge valve design making it easy to clear. A soft silicone mouthpiece works to lower jaw fatigue, and ensure you’re relaxed while wearing it.

The 3-lens design allows you to see under the water clearly, and with a nearly-panoramic view. It wasn’t quite as good as the previous models due to a bit of blurring but was still exceptional.

#4 Tribord Subea Easybreath Snorkel Mask

The Tribord Subea Easybreath stands out initially, due to the bright color schemes, perfect for children up to adults. Aside from looks, however, this mask has a lot to offer.

What’s most important to us and many others, is the ability to breathe naturally.

Especially if you’re going to be renting a snorkel somewhere, you don’t know where the mouthpiece has been and if it’s even been disinfected! Not only that, but not using one means less fatigue for your jaws.

Expand To See MoreSee Less

There’s no need to concern yourself with fogging, either, thanks to the design which ensures all air stays in the bottom section of the mask. As air is constantly flowing, condensation won’t build up, giving you a clear view of what’s in front of you.

Speaking of visibility, this mask offers the best you can get. Complete panoramic views won’t inhibit you in any way, providing 180-degree views anywhere you look.

The shatterproof polycarbonate lens itself is very durable, as it’s made from a solid piece with no weak points. The hypoallergenic silicone skirt is great for sensitive skin, but also creates a snug fit around the face.

The Subea is also a dry snorkel, meaning the tip of the snorkel can go underwater, and you don’t have to worry about water getting into your mask.

The design works to float a piece up to the top when it goes underwater, shutting off the end so no water seeps in. However, it’s not 100% perfect. If you do happen to get a bit of water in our mask, use the purge valve under your chin.

Finally, if you want to always remember your snorkeling trips, there’s a GoPro option on the top of the mask, too.

#5 U.S. Divers Lux Purge Grenada LX Snorkel Mask

This top-of-the-line snorkel mask is ideal if you’re looking for a professional-level product with luxurious comfort and high performance.

The Lux Purge Grenada LX is a one-size-fits-all mask but works well with almost all faces. Coming in a dark blue, gunmetal grey, bright pink, and yellow, you can select the color that goes best with your swimwear.

Each piece that goes into the Lux is ergonomically designed to reduce fatigue and stress on your jaws and face. Made with high-quality hypoallergenic, soft silicone, the mask provides an unforced feeling, even while under water.

The nose pocket is quite comfortable and spacious to fit various sizes and shapes of noses. In addition, it’s easy to equalize or purge water in case it does happen to sneak into the mask.

The 100% submersible dry-top snorkel means that you can be submerged underwater without water rushing into your mask or mouth.

The silicone mouthpiece is extremely flexible, making it easy to fit without causing fatigue so you can use it all day long with no pain.

The lens isn’t as clear as the full-face models, of course, but it still features quite the panoramic view with two extra windows on each side of the face. With anti-fog technology, it stayed crystal clear the entire session, so you never have to come up to fix your view.

The fit was surprisingly good for a one-size-fits-all mask, and the double straps made sure it stayed on securely. They even thought to include a neoprene strap cover which not only adds a bit of cushiness, but prevents hair from being pulled.

This is wonderful for people with long hair! If you need to adjust the fit, the Pro-Glide buckles make it quick, easy, and secure. If you enjoy uploading videos, then you may like the GoPro-compatible attachment, however it is on the bottom of the actual snorkel which is a bit awkward.

#6 X-Lounger Snorkeling Mask Full Face Foldable Easy Breathe

The best budget product for full face masks has to be the X-Lounger Snorkeling Mask.

These types of masks are perfect for children and those just starting out with snorkeling, as you can breathe more naturally. This makes it less stressful for first-timers but convenient for veterans, too.

The model comes in a ton of colors and finishes, including UV protection and an option for a frosted frame, which protects better against scratches.

Whether you have sensitive ears or are purchasing for a child, the addition of removable earplugs is more than welcome. As they’re attached to the mask, you won’t have to worry about losing them, either.

As far as fit goes, the soft elastic/gel skirt does a good job at sealing while keeping you comfortable. The straps are designed to not pull your hair and are easy to adjust.

The flat lens provides a complete 180-degree view, however, we did feel that it could be a bit snug for those with longer noses. Fogging was not an issue for us, due to the inclusion of a dual-flow air vent system and anti-fog coating on the lens.

The breathing tube unfortunately is not a “dry” model 100% and will probably leak a bit of water in your mask if you submerge it. We did appreciate that you could fold it when you’re ready to pack it up, however, making it more compact and streamlined.

Right on the base of the breathing tube, you’ll find a detachable GoPro mount, conveniently located to where it won’t affect performance. The GoPro extender actually provides the most flexibility and angle options of any we’ve seen.

#7 Phantom Aquatics Velocity Scuba Snorkeling Mask Set

Last but certainly not least is the Phantom Aquatics Velocity Scuba Snorkeling Mask Set. If you’re on a tight budget, we can’t recommend this set enough.

It comes with everything you need to get started. If you’re just starting out and aren’t sure if you’ll like snorkeling, or are just purchasing something for a trip, this should be your go-to.

Coming in a huge selection of colors, they’re great for buying for families and differentiating whose is whose. While it’s not necessarily professional quality, it will get the job done in terms of comfort and performance.

Expand To See MoreSee Less

Made of silicone, the skirt around the mask created a quality seal and the speed fit buttons make it easy to adjust the straps, even underwater.

The lens is very tough and provides a clear view, but it doesn’t give the full 180-degree sight that the others on our guide do. However, in terms of downward vision, these excel.

The snorkel itself does feature a splash-proof dry guard which helps to eliminate water intake. However, it’s essential to mention that this is not a completely dry snorkel, and there is a good chance water will flow in if you submerge it.

Ultimately, we recommend this model if you’re just starting out or want to save some cash. It’s not subpar by any means, but if you’re serious about the sport, may as well spend a bit more and get the U.S. Divers Lux.

How to Choose the Best Snorkeling Mask – Buying Guide

Choosing the best snorkel mask is a very personal thing, as it’s going on your face and can affect how you breathe. There are so many different factors that go into choosing the right one, which can make it a complicated process.

That’s why we’ve decided to go ahead and write up the user-friendly buying guide below. By the end, you should have no doubt in your mind which one is the one for you.

Type of Mask

As you could see from the models above, there are your “regular” masks, and then the full face masks were have just recently gained popularity.

Regular/Traditional

These will feature the lens that goes over your eyes, with a separate nose pocket so as to not fog up the lenses and make sure there’s separation in case water gets inside.

They come with a separate snorkel which you’ll have in your mouth the entire time to breathe. While more flexible snorkels can lower fatigue, after a while, your jaw may start to feel tired.

Full Face

These are relatively new on the scene, and have been making waves all around the world due to how convenient they are. They are large enough to surround the entire face, creating a snug seal so no water gets in.

The actual lens portion is separated off from the area around your mouth, which is where you’ll find a type of vent to breathe through. At the top of these you’ll find a kind of tube which serves as the “snorkel” portion.

Many have the ability to close once submerged underwater, so you won’t be surprised with a rush of water in your face or mouth.

Regular Snorkel Mask vs Full Face Snorkel Mask Field of View

The vast majority of the aforementioned products provide a generous 180-degree view. This means that any way you’d like to look, you can see clearly. There are no obstructions on the lens, and oftentimes, no blurriness.

There are also a few which have 3-panel lenses. While the intentions are good, sometimes the two little lenses on the sides can be a bit blurry. Finally, you have those like the Phantom Aquatics which only give you a view right in front of you, so you can’t see your peripherals.

Fog Prevention

This goes with our last point regarding vision. If your lenses fog up, you’re not going to be able to see, and will have to come up out of the water to clear it. This can be annoying and after a while, tiring.

Imagine seeing an incredible animal passing by, only to have your vision cut off by pesky fog! To combat this, most quality masks will have good airflow, constantly circulating. In addition, you may have a type of anti-fog coating.

Fitting the Mask

The truth is, it doesn’t matter how much money you spend on a snorkel. If it doesn’t give you a good fit, you’re not going to enjoy wearing it. You want to look at the skirting around the mask, the size, and how adjustable it is to create a good seal.

A seal should be snug, but never cause actual discomfort or pain. The seal is essential in making sure no water enters your mask, which would force you to surface frequently.

In addition, getting water in your eyes is annoying, and can be painful if you’re in salt water. The strap should be easy and quick to adjust, even under water, and shouldn’t pull on your hair.

Snorkel Considerations

The snorkel portion is equally, if not more important than the mask.

Dry Snorkel

Ideally, you’ll want to get a dry snorkel. What this means, is that the snorkel has a type of valve or floating piece at the end of the tube.

The valve will make sure no water can come in, but air can go in and out. If you accidentally submerge it in water, you may not be able to breathe as you would regularly, but at least you wouldn’t be choking on water. This is huge for children and those who aren’t strong swimmers.

Flexibility

If you’re getting a snorkel that actually goes in your mouth, you’ll want it to be flexible. First,..

#1 Quick Set Escape Shelter Popup Tent
Quick Set Escape Shelter Popup Tent At A Glance:
  • 110 square feet of interior space
  • 90” center height clearance
  • Fits 6-8 people
  • 210 Denier Poly-Oxford Fabric
  • 50+ UV guard protection
Clam Corporation is one of the most well-respected companies in the pop up screen tent world, and their 9281 Quick Set Escape Shelter is a favorite of ours and many other consumers.

Coming in Green, Tan, Gray, Brown/Tan, and Camo, you can use these in just about any outdoors setting.

Click For MoreSee Less

Thanks to a grand total of 110 square feet of space, the screen house is incredibly versatile. Cook dinner, camp, or even hang out on the beach all while being protected from harsh conditions.

As it’s able to fit up to 6-8 people and even a standard picnic table, you can imagine the possibilities!

One thing that stops many people from using a screen tent is the set up process, and it’s easy to understand why!

When all you want to do is have a good time, the last thing that you should have to deal with are complicated designs that are a hassle to set up and take down.

This clam screen tent is a breeze to use, popping open in just 45 seconds. Simply lay the shelter flat, pop out each hub, push the roof up, and you’re ready for some fun.

Stowing away the tent is just as simple, and comes with a carry bag for easy transportation.

While it may be simple, it’s anything but frail. Comprised of 210 denier fabric and 600 denier in the center area of the roof, you can put it through a beating and it will still look like the first day you used it.

The 11mm fiberglass poles and triple-layer corner pole pockets are also made to last, with water-resistant taped seams to ensure your belongings inside last, too.

If conditions start getting windy, simply draw the wind panels to shield you and others. If you’d like to enjoy the light breeze on the beach, well-ventilated mesh allows you to soak it in, while keeping insects and sand out.

The only real downside we experienced, was that while it is water-resistant, it is not waterproof. That means during particularly heavy rainfall, you may experience some light leaking.

#2 Coleman Screened Canopy Tent
Coleman Screened Canopy Tent At A Glance:
  • 90 square feet of interior space
  • 8’4” center height clearance
  • Fits 5-7 people
  • Polyguard 2x Double-Thick Fabric
  • 50+ UPF guard protection
Coleman is one of the biggest names in the outdoor gear world due to their consistently high level of quality, and their Screened Canopy Tent with Instant Setup is no exception.

The model doesn’t come in many colors (only Brown or Green), but it’s made to be to-the-point and simple to use. If you’re on a tight budget but still want one of the best, keep on reading.

Click For MoreSee Less

While the former model may be a tad bit easier to set up, this one is clearly no challenge, either. Telescoping poles and Comfort Grip technology facilitate the process, taking no more than a minute to have it ready for use.

To make sure it doesn’t get knocked over or blow away, Coleman also includes ground stakes and pre-attached guy lines to keep it properly anchored.

The Coleman screen house is suitable for both day and night use, though we wouldn’t recommend it for use in heavy rain conditions due to the lack of wind panels and waterproof seams.

Made of Polyguard 2x Double-Thick Fabric with UVGuard 50+ UPF protection, it will keep you free from harm under the sun’s rays.

At night when the bugs come out, you can enjoy your party’s company and fresh air without worrying about being swarmed with the wide mesh walls.

Two double large T-doors make it easy to get in and out of the Coleman instant screen house; no crouching down or crawling necessary.

The 8’4” center height makes it easy to stand up, sit, or lay down at your convenience, while 90 square feet of space means a group of around 7 people can fit with ease.

When you’re ready to pack your Coleman screened canopy up for the day, simply place it into the carry bag. It folds down just as quick as it sets up, so you won’t be wasting any time.

#3 Timber Ridge Screen Tent House
Timber Ridge Screen Tent House At A Glance:
  • 11 x 11 feet of interior space
  • 84” center height clearance
  • Fits 5-8 people
  • Polyester
  • UV guard protection
Another excellent budget product, we have the Timber Ridge Instant Screen Tent House next. If you feel you don’t really need a fully-featured model like the others on this guide, this may be the one for you.

It’s also not made for heavy rain, but it performs wonderfully in the sunshine. Take it to the beach, park, or camping, and you’ll have a much more comfortable experience.

The large mesh walls give excellent airflow so you can inhale all the fresh pine tree-scented breeze you’d like without dealing with the mosquitoes.

Eat your hot dogs and hamburgers in peace, without worrying about flies trying to share your meal. While it doesn’t protect entirely against wind, it does do well in light rain, too.

Suitable for 5-8 people, you can fit in some lawn chairs and small tables in with no problem. Two large D-shaped doors make it easy to go in-and-out, which also makes it handy for use on the sidelines at sports games.

The no-floor design actually may make these outings more convenient, as you won’t risk cleats or chairs tearing the fabric.

Setup and take-down is quick and easy, with no assembly required. Everything takes about a minute, so it won’t impede on your fun. Slide it into the included carry bag, and you’re on your way.

#4 Wenzel Magnetic Screen House
Wenzel Magnetic Screen House At A Glance:
  • 99 square feet of interior space
  • 5 feet center height clearance
  • Fits 5-8 people
  • 68D Polyester Taffeta, 68D Mesh
  • No UV protection
Wenzel has been around longer than any of us have, so they’ve had quite a while to perfect their engineering.

Their Magnetic Screen House is one of the best we’ve seen to protect against pesky insects. We like this screen house for picnicking or parties at the park or yard.

Click For MoreSee Less

Unfortunately, we wouldn’t suggest using this tent in rain, wind, or direct sun. Rather, try placing it under a tree or in the shade of a building if you can.

The model doesn’t included UV protection, though it does add a bit of shade, which can save you from burning.

With steel and fiberglass poles, setup is a bit more tedious than with the aforementioned products, but it is worth it in the end.

Keeping kids or pets in confined spaces for more than a few minutes is a challenge. However, with the model’s unique magnetic doors, it’s no longer an issue.

Magnetic strips line each spacious door, for hands-free entry/exit. This feature is also perfect for those moments when your hands are full and no one is around to open the door for you.

The large interior makes it easy to host parties without making it feel crowded, and as it includes a “floor” you don’t have to worry about bugs sneaking underneath the walls.

The entire build is made to last, and Wenzel’s 10-year warranty contests to a high level of quality.

#5 Ozark Trail Instant Screen House
Ozark Trail Instant Screen House At A Glance:
  • 10 x 10 feet of interior space
  • 84” center height clearance
  • Fits 5-7 people
  • Polyester
  • 50+ UV protection
If you’re going for a more basic design still, check out the Ozark Trail Instant Screen House. The model is incredibly inexpensive when you consider how well it performs in various weather conditions.

The light grey and green design looks modern and sporty, and is made of polyester and steel. The build isn’t the most durable out there, but it should still hold up for many seasons.

Click For MoreSee Less

The screen house tent will change your summers at the lake, river, or even on your porch. It will save you from bug bites, and can even reduce wind a substantial amount.

We also enjoyed the fact that the walls of the tent provided 50+ UV protection, which is important for anyone, any time of year. As the walls are at an angle, some heavy rain can leak through, but light rain is no match for the outdoor screen tent.

The screen house is made of tough polyester mesh, which will easily resist against rips and tears. The steel frame is pre-attached, which means assembly is quick and easy.

In fact, it took us no more than a minute to get it ready for use. Stakes and tie-downs are also included, so it remains completely stable.

The 7-foot center height is a bit shorter than the other models on our guide, but should be more than sufficient for most users to stand comfortably inside.

A 10 x 10 foot interior space can fit in around 7 people, while still allowing room for tables and chairs.

Once you’re done, take-down is simple, and slides right into the included carry bag.

How to Select the Best Screen Tent

Ah, the great outdoors. There’s nothing better than enjoying the fresh air with friends and family, surrounded by the majesty of nature. However, there are some aspects of nature that are less-than-pleasant, such as cold raindrops ruining a delicious cookout, or mosquitoes eating you alive.

The good news is, there is a solution: screen tents. These can shield you and your guests from potential sunburns, insect bites, and rain, while providing a bit of privacy and comfort.

We’ve spent the last few weeks researching, and have come up with the best screen tents for you. Keep on reading if you’ve had it with itchy insect bites!

Selecting the proper product for you may be more difficult than it sounds. With so many excellent options out there, it can even be overwhelming at times.

That’s the exact reason why we’ve decided to take it upon ourselves to create the user-friendly buying guide, below.

It will lead you through each step of the buying process, so you can feel 100% confident in your decision.

Weather Conditions

What type of weather do you plan on using your new dining tent in? Perhaps you live in a climate that stays nice and sunny all year.

In that case, you may not require much rain or wind protection, but you will want UV protection. In contrast, should you take your tent to the beach or camping, consider a model that has panels to ensure the wind doesn’t come inside your portable oasis.

Water Resistant vs. Waterproof

This kind of ties into the last point, but make sure you know the difference between these two. Water resistant tents will not be harmed if water contacts it, and can typically keep light rain out of your screened canopy.

However, once you subject it to heavy rainfall, it can force water through little holes and spaces in the model. Also check to see if the seams are heat-sealed or not. If they’re not, this can also let water in.

Space

How many people do you plan on being with inside your mesh tent? Have a solid idea in mind, but plan on adding on a bit, as people love to congregate.

If possible, keep the size of the guests in mind, too, as this will affect the number of people that can comfortably fit inside.

You may want to add in some chairs and tables for eating or playing poker, which you’ll also need to add into consideration.

Ceiling Height

Ceiling height varies a surprising amount among the best canopy tents. The center height should be no less than 7 feet so that you and your guests can stand normally without hunching over.

However, this is just the max center height. The supporting framework may be much lower, which can shave off the available space inside. Cathedral-style canopies eliminate the risk of this happening, so every inch of internal space is used.

Frame Material

Speaking of frames, let’s talk about the type of materials you should be aiming for. We recommend opting for either aluminum or steel.

Aluminum is typically much more lightweight, so you can more easily take it from one place to the other. However, it may not handle windy weather as well as its steel counterparts.

Steel is a bit stronger, too, so if you’re looking for sheer sturdiness, that’s our winner.

Canopy Material

The canopy makes up almost the entirety of the outdoor screen room, so search for toughness and lightness. Most high-quality models will be comprised of 150D, 420D, or 600D material.

The “D” refers to how fine the weave of the material is, as well as its weight. 600D will be the heaviest, but also the most long-lasting.

The strength should be the more important factor here, so we do recommend going with the higher rating if you can.

Price

How much are you willing to spend on the best shade tent? It’s recommended that you have a solid number in mind, and try not to go over that number.

There are plenty of very affordable products on our list, but also remember how durable they are. You may initially pay a higher price tag for a product that lasts twice as long as a model that costs a few dollars less.

By purchasing the higher-priced tent, you’re ultimately saving money in the end.

Frequently Asked Questions About Screen Tents Question: How long can I expect my screen tent to last?

A: If you properly care for it, you can easily use it for 10 years without any serious problems. Considering, of course, that you’re only using it in the summer time as opposed to all year long.

Question: What is a screen tent?

A: These are straightforward, simple products that are made to be convenient and flexible. The average size is 10 x 10 feet, which can be used for usually up to 8 people. They can be used to travel with, preventing mosquitoes and other bugs from coming in, and rain and sun from penetrating.

Question: How long should set-up take?

A: We’d recommend no longer than 2 minutes, but the vast majority of models on this guide take less time than that to get it up and going.

Buyer’s Tips #1: If you find your pop up tent is getting harder to close, slick the frame.

The most popular way of doing this, is by spraying the metal frames, then wipe it down. Make sure to get rid of any extra silicone residue before you attach the top.

#2: To extend the life of your shelter, make sure to properly clean it.

Never use a detergent, as this can be too harsh for the fabric. Instead, use a mild soap and a large amount of water to clean off any dirt and grime.

#3: If your tent forms condensation or gets rained on, make sure it’s properly dried off before storing.

If it’s not, it can actually damage the tent. If you have leaks, take it to a seam sealer to stop that from happening.

The mesh fabric is treated to be UV-resistant, so the sun’s rays don’t weaken the fabric over time.

This Textilene fabric is also resistant to mildew so it’s possible to leave it on the patio without it becoming greened with mold or mildew.

Even when sitting in the sun, you can sit back and relax in this zero-gravity chair without being burned by hot fabric.

The mesh is held to the steel frame through a series of two elastic bungee cords. Both of the cords are replaceable which ensures you can enjoy this chair for a long time to come.

How to Choose the Best Zero Gravity Chair – Buying Guide Timber Ridge Zero Gravity Locking Lounge Chair

Even though we’ve narrowed our list of zero-gravity chairs to just five, it’s still important to know which features are most important to you. This way, you will be able to find the perfect chair with all the features you need and not pay for fancy features you won’t use.

Durability

The durability factor will largely be determined by where you plan on using the chair and how often.

For example, if your zero-gravity recliner will stay outdoors such as on the pool deck or patio, you’ll want a chair that can withstand UV rays, hot dry weather, as well as humid weather.

The best option, in this case, would be the Best Choice Products Zero Gravity Folding Recliner Lounge Chair.

Accessories

Some won’t need any accessories due to the nature of how the chair will be used. However, several zero gravity chairs feature a sunshade which can be helpful if you’re by the pool or at the beach.

An adjustable or removable padded pillow can help you lay even more comfortable in the lounger. The trays that can hold your drink, your phone, or even a book or magazine can be quite helpful if you feel you would use a feature like that.

Stability

Because you will be reclining back in a zero-gravity chair, you need to know that the structure of the chair is stable and won’t flip backward once you lean back.

You also need to know that it is wide enough to stable during lateral movement as you might lean over to reach for something, or a grandkid might even crawl into your lap.

Adjustable Positions

Some zero-gravity lounge chairs will recline farther back than others. If you need a chair that will lay nearly flat, the PORTAL chair reviewed above is ideal because you can choose any degree of recline from zero to 170. Other chairs may have several pre-set reclining positions, and some chairs will have more positions than others.

Weight Capacity

It’s very important to pay attention to the weight capacity of the chair. If you are a larger person, then exceeding the weight limit of the chair can result in damage to the chair or even injury for you.

A zero-gravity outdoor chair with a weight capacity of up to 450 pounds is featured above as the Best Choice Products Zero Gravity Recliner for 2. No one says you have to share the comfort!

Warranty

You’ll know a manufacturer or reseller will stand behind their products when they offer a warranty on it. While some chairs like this come with a relatively short warranty, it’s still a sign that they are aware it is made of quality materials and durable construction.

Best Choice Products Folding Zero Gravity Recliner Zero Gravity Chair Benefits

A zero-gravity lounge chair isn’t just a comfortable way to relax. In fact, there are several benefits that can make sitting in one more than just comfortable, but also providing health benefits. Let’s look at just a few of those benefits.

Prevention of Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are caused by veins that are no longer strong enough to push the blood in the legs that are supplied by the arteries back up toward the heart. The veins dilate and that extra blood pools.

You may notice varicose veins that sometimes look blue or purple on someone’s calves. You may already have varicose veins forming before there are any visual signs, so a zero-gravity recliner may be able to help.

Reduce Spinal Pressure

Spinal pressure can be caused by heavy lifting or even just carrying your own body weight over the course of a long day. Women who are in the later months of pregnancy usually feel quite a bit of spinal pressure in their lower back. A zero-gravity chair can help reduce this pressure to make you more comfortable and lessen back pain overall.

Decrease Muscle Tension

You may have already noticed that sitting in certain chairs or even laying in a certain position in bed, can help your body feel relaxed. Whether the muscle tension is caused by overworked muscles or anxiety, an anti-gravity chair can help melt away the tension without the pressure on your body in other positions.

Promote Circulation

Even astronauts are required to use zero-gravity chairs to help promote circulation. In their weightless environment, sitting in this type of position ensures your heart and blood vessels are working at optimum levels to increase blood circulation naturally.

Post-Surgery Recovery

Whether you’ve had a knee replacement or a hernia repair, open heart surgery or a rotator cuff repair, a zero-gravity lawn chair won’t just get you out of the house and enjoying the great weather. These chairs can also help lift some of the pressure off your muscles and joints as well as increase circulation so your body can heal faster.

Goplus Folding Zero Gravity Lounge Chair FAQS About Zero Gravity Chairs

Do you still have questions about anti-gravity chairs? Here are the top 5 questions about them that we receive regularly.

Q: How do I set up a zero-gravity chair?

A: All of these chairs will have various methods of adjusting each aspect of the chair. While most will move the back to recline and the foot area to lift in a steady set of angles, some chairs offer even more options for adjustability. It will be easy to tell if the chair is uncomfortable. However, if you are using the chair for a while and notice it isn’t as comfortable as it was before, it’s time to make some adjustments.

Q: What zero-gravity chair accessories do I need?

A: The accessories you will find most helpful will largely depend on how you intend to use the chair. If you will be at the beach, then an adjustable sunshade is a must have. If you want to sit back and enjoy an iced tea and a good book under the shade of your patio, then having an adjustable tray with cup holder is probably a good idea.

Q: How should I store my zero-gravity chair when not in use?

A: You’ll first want to thoroughly clean the chair, ensure it is completely dry by placing it in the sun for a few minutes and then fold into its compact size. Each chair may fold away for storage or transportation a bit differently so be sure to read the manual that comes with your chair. Some chairs have directions placed directly on the frame of the chair or on a tag.

Q: How should I clean my zero-gravity outdoor chair?

A: Most chairs can handle a hose down with the backyard hose. If you have a soft-bristled brush and a mild detergent, then giving it a scrub down from a bucket can be helpful, especially if you are cleaning it after a long summer of use and will be putting it away for a bit.

Q: Are zero-gravity chairs difficult to move?

A: Some chairs are much lighter than others and that can certainly make them more portable. If you are planning on using your zero-gravity lawn chair at other locations besides your lawn, then a lighter chair is probably best. You will also want to look into how large the folded down chair is. Some larger shapes can be awkward to move.

Zero Gravity Chair Buying Tips

Finally, we have some great tips for when it comes to buying your first zero-gravity lounge chair, or a newer one to replace one that’s seen a lot of use. Either way, here are our Top 5 Zero Gravity Chair Buying Tips.

Tip #1: Look for a Portable Design

Most outdoor chairs will be moved around a bit and that includes zero-gravity lawn chairs. This means you should look for a chair that collapses to a manageable size and is also light enough for you to carry easily. If you don’t intend on moving the chair much, these features might not be the most important for you to consider when purchasing.

Tip #2: Consider Built-In Padding vs. Separate Covers

Some chairs like this have built-in padding along with the breathable mesh. A perfect example of this is the PORTABLE Anti-Gravity Chair reviewed above. The others all include a comfortable mesh seat, but you can certainly add your own separate cover if you feel it would be more comfortable for you.

Tip #3: Look at the Seat Materials

Not all seat materials are the same when it comes to a zero-gravity outdoor chair. You’ll want to consider how much sun the chair will see and other conditions such as sand or regular humidity. Some mesh fabrics can’t stand up to these elements, but some can. The treated Textiline fabric used for the Best Choice Products Folding Zero-Gravity Recliner Lounge Chair is designed for regular outdoor exposure to the elements.

Tip #4: Find an Anti-Gravity Chair for Outdoor Use

All of the chairs we’ve featured here are specifically designed for use outdoors. There are many other styles of anti-gravity chairs that are designed to be used in the house, but those shouldn’t be used outside. Any of these outdoor anti-gravity chairs can also be brought inside if you choose to.

Tip #5: Consider How it Will be Used, and by Whom

Are the kids going to be using these chairs? Is there a big and tall person that may find a larger chair with higher weight capacity more comfortable? Do you intend to transport the chair to picnics and parties, or to the beach or a campsite? It’s important to consider how you will be using the chair so you know what features are needed. You should also understand who will be using them so they are a comfortable size.

Ready to Relax with a Zero-Gravity Outdoor Chair?

You can’t go wrong with any of the anti-gravity chairs we’ve reviewed for you here. While our buying and benefits guides can help you choose the one that will work for you the best, be sure to take a look at that FAQs section.
