When you finally manage to sit down to work on your deadline removing all the distractions and interruptions, you might discover with surprise that there is something else that stands between you and your work… Something that slows you down or even paralyses you.
These are your negative thoughts about your deadline: I don’t know enough, I don’t have enough time, I should have done it earlier, It is not going to be good enough, My supervisor won’t like it etc etc.

I’ve recorded this video from Portugal from the amazing cliffs by the sea, that we are visiting at the moment. Although I’ve been travelling now for 1.5 months through Europe in a motorhome with my three children, I also continued to have calls with my group and private coaching clients. With the end of the year in sight, we tend to pile up more and more work on our plate “to be completed by the end of the year”.
In additional to the deadlines that would have been there anyway we also promise ourselves and others to complete things “by the end of December”. This makes us feel overwhelmed, stressed, and also causes exhaustion and sometimes burn-out.
