Noordinaryshe is here to help me formally document looks that I create, otherwise known as taking my pleasure seriously and also to inspire every one of you on everyday styling, fashion trend, beauty and shopping tips and how to maximise your wardrobe collection. I would have to confess at this point that I love bargains and do most of my shopping when prices are a bit friendlier.
I feel my most feminine when I’m in light weight fabrics like organza. It is playful and and the most breathable fabric to enjoy this spring/Summer. I wouldn’t say I 100% enjoyed the part where all my undergarment is in plain sight but I really can’t be bothered . If you are super conscious about stuff like that I suggest you throw on a delicate vest before putting on your top and if like me you don’t really care, then just do your thing.
Pairing with bold prints like Gingham or florals or even plaid is a fresh way to approach this trend.

I’m a sucker for bags that make a statement. To me they sort of make the process of dressing up a whole lot easier. I just need to ”keep my outfit simple and let me bag do all the talking”. I particularly love handbags with edgy handles, bold buckles or even something as salient as just a versatile colour.

Winter is finally here. The thing is as much as we dread the freeze winter is the season when the real Christmas vibe kicks in. It doesn’t really feel like Christmas until the air is crisply frosty isn’t it? At this time of year we start to worry so much about changing our wardrobe to match the weather outside. And going by my past experiences this can come a little expensive with jackets especially taking a big chunk of the spend. I mean its fun and exciting to get new things every time a new season breaks but sometimes its a little wiser to learn the tricks of not going broke each time the weather changes, whose with me!
1.Try not to over do your shopping for the winter season and then end up with so many heavy pieces that won’t be of any use soon as winter is over which is in about less than 3 months and as a matter of fact that is not such a long time to go. By doing this not only will you be saving money but also saving space in your wardrobe. Also the less shopping you do the more your creative juices flow to make the most out of what you already have. You have to actually make this conscious effort not to feel the need to splurge just cause it’s winter.
2.Think layering… big time. When you layer up your old pieces in creative ways you find yourself not needing so many new winter outfits. For example you can wear your short summer dresses over your denim pants or pair your summer blazers with your favourite old turtle neck jumpers in place of your t-shirts. It is actually super cute to mix up light weight and heavy pieces together to create a look . Trying to create layers with heavy pieces through and through can make you look too bulky or puffy and this is not the look we want to be going for this winter so why spend so much on them.
3.Spend wisely on your winter coats. Get jackets or coats that go well with any kind of ensemble. So basically go for super versatile jackets.The easiest one that comes to mind are the camel coats or faux fur lined biker jackets. Once you have jackets or coats like these the rest is practically easy. Again you can recycle your summer clothes with the right kind of coats or jackets and generally get more value out of every penny you spent in summer on clothes.

I love check infact I love it so much I could wear it head to toe but I discovered lots pf people feel uneasy in bold prints. Not everyone is into a stand-out-in-the-crowd kind of outfit and that is exactly what wearing check print can instantly do to you. It is such a bold and fun classic print for those who are not afraid to make a statement and to top this it is a trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon so I guess we best get jiggy with it. Don’t fret if you think you love check and love how it looks on everyone else but wish you could pull it off, I’ve got some tips for you on how you can incorporate it into you single colour routine wardrobe because variety is the key to a remotely interesting life and your clothes are definitely no exception to this.
GO FOR CHECK PRINTS IN COLOURS YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH
As you might already know there are tons of check colour patterns out there. If you are not one for bold and bright colours go for check prints with a more demure and down to earth colour palette. This will instantly take away at least 80% of your fear and leave you feeling more confident of your ability to pull off your outfit. The colour that easily comes to mind are the classic brown or grey check, there is a piece for everyone out there.
PICK A COLOUR FROM YOUR CHECK PIECE YOU WANT TO PAIR WITH
Like I said, personally I don’t mind piling on prints with reckless abandon but if you are print shy I suggest you pick a colour from you check print piece and work with it. For example you could have a check blazer that has a combination of 3 colours say blue, yellow and red, what you need to do is pair your blazer with a blue, yellow or red anything. It could be your shoes, your pants or even your bag that comes in one this single colours. This way you can play down the loudness of your print.
GO CASUAL WITH IT
The easiest way to get rid of the weird stares and invite the She’s-so-cool stares is to pair your high pitched checks with cool and calm casuals like a plain Tee or snickers or even a sassy mule. This is not to say you can’t dress up your check pieces if you want but I guess the topic is hw to make it look a little less show-offish and little more cool glam beside sneakers are the new 7inch heels if yo haven’t heard
GO WITH CONFIDENCE OR NOT AT ALL
This I think is actually the most important. Don’t let your print wear you. Confidence is the ultimate way to pull off any outfit. Even if you are dressed in bin lining head to toe, with confidence you could make everyone fill like they are the ones in bin liners and not you(Magic!)
Each day I look out the window with an excited and expectant heart about going to do my daily job which is getting a good shot or 2 and each day I get slapped in the face with the reality of what season we are in by the grey cloudy and wet outlook outside.We are finally back to the ration of one to none good weather days per week and through it all work must go on. I have rounded off a few tips on how to stay positive while on the grind regardless of water blues.
THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS AND CARRY ON;
Let’s face it, it’s not like we can crawl back into bed and wait the next 6 months for the clouds to clear and the air to get warmer and dryer, only if wishes were horses. The best way to forget the negatives is to focus on the positives. Think happy thoughts guys, get rid of everything around you that gives a negative energy. I find when we can first work on the mind the rest of it is quite easy really.
KEEP YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY CLOSE
Winter is the best time to spend time reconnecting with people you love. Grab a cup of coffee and have long phone chats with your chums, talk about nothing and everything and have a damn good laugh. Nothing heals the soul better than companionship. What I love doing the most is taking out time in the evenings or weekends and watching a nice movie together with the family, everyone crawled up in one big blanket and just generally being together. This means when you are out during the day keeping up with the hustle at least you have something cozy to look up to when you get home. Cold weather is simply the best for bonding.
WEAR HAPPY CLOTHES;
I know it’s all gloomy and miserable outside, this is the more reason I think you should create positive energy for yourself by wearing happy clothes. For me happy clothes are colourful and vibrant. As much as I love blacks greys and browns sometimes I’m hell bent on not coordinating my looks with the grey skies out there. Adapt your summer clothes for winter. Bring back those pieces that made you run and dance in the sun few months back and let it put a smile back on your face and the face of everyone around you. Research has shown that looking at bright and warm colours releases ‘Dopamine’ which is also down as the feel -good- hormone and this can improve you mood.
It seems like I have been waiting for this day since like foreverrrr! Well I found out when I went out today that it obviously wasn’t just me sitting, twiddling my thumb and eagerly awaiting the D day of deals which is quite oddly called Black Friday. I actually dunno why it is called that, I would have called it Happy Friday if it were my call because the truth is everybody just gets super excited and expectant on a Black Friday. Today the city centre was packed with holiday shoppers hungry for some major wins. I joined a not so necessary queue just to try and get one of my favourite perfumes it took ages I instantly felt so vain. Like have you ever had to go through a lot of hassle to try and get something it makes you think surely there must be better things to do with my time. That feeling was only for a moment though cos as soon as I snagged my deal it was like the best 30 minutes ever spent just standing and waiting your turn.
There is a discount on literally almost everything right now which is why I think my camera chose the perfect day to fall over and go caput. I’m saying this with so much sadness in my heart cause this is the second time I’ m losing my expensive Nikon camera to autumnal elements. I’m not even going to go over how it exactly happened because I’m choosing to focus on the positive side of things which is that it couldn’t have happened at a better time than this. Soon as I finish this post I’ll be hot on line looking to find me an excellent camera bargain to help me quickly replace my loss. My outfit today is simple and inspired by this holiday party season. I suddenly want to wear a bit of shine with everything lately. It is not not exactly a night out outfit but if I suddenly yank off my blazer nothing would say PARTY better than gold tin foil… whose in!!!!
As much as I am super excited Christmas is around the corner I’m still wondering where the heck 11 months’ gone? It feels like I closed my eyes for a minute and 2018 just zoomed past. It’s scary how time flies so quickly I’m not even gonna lie. Anyway enough with the looking-for-where-time-went moan… it’s party season!!! What are you thinking of getting for your parties. Would you be going for hot and sassy or chic and classy cause I’m totally up for everything right now. For the past week I have been on line just looking at all the party clothes being rolled out by my favourite shops. So many gorgeous things out there guys and I am seriously eyeing up a few too many. I’ve just left them in my shopping basket so I can narrow them down to my top 4. I’m a sucker for prints so when I spotted this unusual pink shade of leopard print my heart skipped a beat! These are from John Lewis and the quality of them is awesome, good thing I found them in the party season cause I’m definitely going to be rocking them again and again.
Summer is long gone but there is no chance in hell I’m getting rid of my summer pieces. The best thing about most autumnal days is how it is neither freezing nor extremely hot, the heavy wind and cloudy sky is super annoying though I’m not gonna lie. When I want to approach autumnal fashion I always think of how you mix cold water with hot water to get cool water. So basically I can continue wearing my summer clothes like summer never went away only I have to be sensible enough to mix it up with warmer pieces or I’ll be ending up with the FLU won’t I?. My silk vest would have been perfect worn with just my jeans and perhaps trainers or slides yes if it was a fine summer day. The reality is that it is not a fine Summer day and it will not be anytime soon so turtlenecks have become a staple for me this autumn because they are very handy when I crave my summer vests.
Every season one colour always seems to become ‘the’ multifunctional colour. Currently it is lemon. I actually never thought it was a colour to throw on just any outfit infact I would always shy away from anything lemony unless it was a pretty dress that I could easily look cute in without doing much. I was all wrong, actually lemon is (surprisingly) a very versatile colour and I especially love how it works well with orange. Not the typical cold weather hue but it somehow adapts well. In another news I’m so glad it is Friday (Yay!!!) you know why? Because I don’t get to make dinner, it’s as simple as that. Cooking is fun but sometimes it can be stressful especially if like me you love to give your meals a lot of thought plus my husband loves to try new things ever so often and the worst part of this is he has no clue how to cook like if you cannot cook don’t be so choosey man!. He’s only lucky I love cooking when I’m in the mood but by Friday I swearI have mostly all the mood for cooking so I think a lovely tasty meal by M&S is where we are at tonight for dinner, who doesn’t love a good Friday treat.
