Hi Beauties!

Benefit Cosmetics just launched a new foundation called Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation.  The newest addition to their complexion range is said to even out skin tone and blur imperfections.  It is light-to-medium coverage liquid foundation which will be great for the summer months ahead.  It even contains sun protection along with shea extract to smooth and protect the skin.  The foundation is available for sale for $38 CAD and $29 USD.  There are a total of 12 shades in the line which I will be swatching below.

The foundation comes in a cute rectangle bottle matching the foundation colour on the inside with a hot pink reflective cover.  The back of the bottle features a cute smiley face with heart-shaped eyes.  The size of the product looks small but it contains an ounce of product which is standard.  It has an eye dropper style nozzle which I can do without.  It was very messy to use as the liquid was just running out as soon as I took the cover off without even squeezing it.  Essentially you will be using the leakage on your face but definitely shake it before use.  Out of the 12 shades there was probably 2 that didn't have this issue.  Initially, I thought it was due to the shipping and handling of the product but I put them to stand for a couple days before I swatched them and the same thing happened.  I would much prefer a pump on the bottle to avoid this.

The foundation is said to be for all skin types - normal, dry, combination and oily.  The 12 shades consist of 3 light, 5 medium and 4 dark shades.  The formula contains soft focus features to hide imperfections.  It leaves a natural matte finish and is lightweight and buildable.  The formula also contains 20 SPF that doesn't cause any flashback.  It feels like I have nothing on when I wear it.  I'm shade 6.   I will demonstrate a few shades on my face in an upcoming YT video.  To give you a comparison, I wear shade Aruba in Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation (swatched here) and Honey Bronze in Estee Lauder's Double Wear Nude Foundation.  For a natural finish,  it's recommended to apply with your fingers.  For a medium coverage, apply with a flat brush and for a full coverage, two layers is needed.  If you're looking for a full coverage foundation that doesn't require building, this may not be for you.  I know there may be some controversy on the number of shade colours in this line but the brand says they have "developed the range to reach a wide spectrum of skin-tones from light to deep.  A sheer coverage foundation shade can be worn by more skin tones than a high coverage foundation shade".

Overall, I'm really enjoying the formula.  I love how light weight and natural it looks.

 Research results:
In a self-evaluation by 103 women after 1 week:
- 99% said it feels weightless
- 98% said it feels breathable
- 96% said it blurs imperfections
- 95% said it gives natural-looking coverage

Shade Descriptions:

  • 1 - fair cool
  • 2 - light warm
  • 3 - light neutral
  • 4 - medium neutral
  • 5 - medium cool
  • 6 - medium warm
  • 7 - medium-tan warm
  • 8 - tan warm
  • 9 - deep neutral
  • 10 - deep warm
  • 11 - dark neutral
  • 12 - dark warm

Here I'm wearing shade 6.

You can shop the Hello Happy Foundation at Sephora, Ulta and Benefitcosmetics.com.

Hi Beauties!

Huda Beauty has released two new mini palettes in the Obsessions line.  I love these compact palettes because they are so convenient.  I've previously reviewed the Mauve (here) and Electric Obsessions (here) on my blog.   Today I will be sharing the new Gemstone Obsessions which was inspired by the rich reflection of gemstones.  The palette retails for $35 CAD/$27 USD at Sephora.

There is a collection of nine creamy metallic and duo chrome shadows in the Gemstone palette.  The beautiful shades of amethyst, ruby, emerald, and sapphire caught my eye.  As there are no mattes included this is not a standalone palette.  It complements the other palettes from the brand well.  There are some lovely shades in this palette but there were some disappointments.  I wish the shadows had names so I can talk about them much better.  Anyway, a few of the shades have some chunky glitter but all are very smooth to the touch.  They remind me of the textured shadows from the original Rose Gold Edition Palette.  Those shadows apply best with glitter glue and you only need a little otherwise they don't apply smoothly across the lid.  The other shades have a metallic finish.  They are mostly pigmented with the exception of a couple of shades that need a base colour.  I prefer to apply the shadows with my fingertips in a patting motion.  I find a wet brush doesn't help pick up enough product and a dry brush creates fallout.  The shadows are blendable and lasted about 8 hours.

Shade 1 - This shade looks like a light lavender shade but it has blue reflects.  It creates some fallout so you have to use a light hand for application.  It had a pigmented sparkly metallic finish.

Shade 2 - This purple pink shade caught my eye in the pan.   On the lid it wasn't that pigmented, it needed some building as well as a base shade.

Shade 3 - A dull teal shade that also needed a good base shade.  I don't see myself using this shade that much.

Shade 4 - A pink plum shade that has a sparkly metallic finish.  It applies very pigmented.

Shade 5 - This purple shade is so rich and vibrant and is highly pigmented.  It has a metallic finish and does not require a base.

Shade 6 - This is a reddish copper shade with a frosted finish.  When I paired this with the lighter shade from the palette the two almost blended into each other leaving very little contrast between the two.

Shade 7 - A lighter copper shade with orange undertones and has a sparkling sheen.

Shade 8 - A light pink shade with sparkly flecks.  It has an opaque metallic finish.  It looks thick on the lid if you apply too much so it's not buildable.

Shade 9 - This shade looks blue in the pan but it is a purple shade with blue reflects.  It is cooler toned than the other purple shade in the palette and has an opaque metallic finish.

Here I'm wearing shade # 8 & 2 on the lid and shade  #9 in the inner corner.  I paired it with the Electric Obsession Palette

Overall it would be difficult to create a cohesive look with this palette especially if you like to use matte crease shades.  Gemstone is definitely a great complimentary palette.  It pairs well with the Electric Obsessions Palette.  I adore the pink and purple shades in this palette.  For the price point, this is a great compact palette for travel.  The intensity of most of the shadows are amazing and they blend well.  I think you just need to be comfortable with using your fingertips for this one.   I didn't get the  Coral Obsession Palette because it seems more dupable than this palette but I'm tempted to get it.

What is your favourite Obsession Palette?

Samantha

Hi Beauties!

Charlotte Tilbury has released two new shades of the Eye to Mesmerise cream eyeshadows.  I don't use cream eyeshadows often mostly because I think they will fade, crease or be too drying on the lids.  This is definitely not the case with these. The new Rose Gold and Star Gold shades are stunning so I was excited to try them.  I've been wearing them nonstop since I received them.  The eyeshadows retail for $36 CAD and $32 USD at charlottetilbury.com.  Today I will be sharing my review and swatches with with you.

Star Gold is a golden bronze metallic shade and Rose Gold is a soft pink rose-gold metallic shade.  These cream shadows have a lightweight formula that glides on effortessly without tugging on the lid.  The whipped consistency is so soft it almost feels gel like.  It has a water infused formula and contains Vitamin E to hydrate the eyes and create a cooling effect.  They are highly pigmented and stay true to it's colour after application and blending.  I love how easy to use they are; they are practically foolproof.  They give a maximum impact with minimum effort.  I've been having issues lately with shadows creasing and fading on my lids and I'm so happy that these don't do that.  It's quite embarrassing when your makeup disappears before the end of a work day but these stay on a whole 8 hour day.  I do use a primer with these and all my other shadows.  You can use your fingers to apply them or a brush for a more intense look.  The formula is buildable and works well with other matte shades I've used in the crease.   The Eyes to Mesmermise add a stunning dimension to any look.  I don't know if I can pick a fav as they are both equally beautiful but I've been wearing Rose Gold more often.

Have you tried any other shades?  I would love to hear your recommendations below.

Samantha

Hi Beauties!

Nudestix has always been known for their minimalist beauty approach where being your most authentic self is always encouraged by the brand.  Being the best version of yourself has inspired the creation of the Tinted Blur to give that blurred coverage for the no-makeup makeup look.   The stick is currently available in 10 shades ranging from light to dark and is sold for $33 CAD and $ 30 USD at Sephora and nudestix.com.

The Tinted Blur Stick is a lightweight cream to powder finish.  It contains soft-focus mineral technology that provides a natural-looking finish.  It is meant to blur the appearance of texture, blemishes, discolouration, lines, and pores.   The formula contains hydrating coco and green tea emollients.  The pigments also contain shade-adjusting elements that blend with your actual skin tone.  The tint it gives looks like I have nothing on and it blends right into my skin.  The Blur Stick can be used a few different ways which I've outlined below.

Tint - all-over tinted coverage for a natural finish

Blur - a blurring primer under liquid, powder or cream foundation

Blot - use over any foundation for a natural, soft-focus. Glow diffusing blotting powder for a soft matte finish

Hi-Lite and Contour - Try lighter and deeper shades to enhance and naturally sculpt the face

Shades:

  • Light 1 - ivory with cool pink undertone
  • Light 2 - light beige with neutral undertone
  • Light 3 - light beige with warm undertone
  • Medium 4 - medium beige with warm undertone
  • Medium 5 - medium beige with golden undertone
  • Medium 6 - medium beige with cool undertone
  • Medium 7 - golden tan with cool undertone
  • Deep 8 - golden tan with neutral undertone
  • Deep 9 - rich tan with golden undertone
  • Deep 10 - rich tan with neutral undertone

I've been using the Tinted Blur Stick as an all over tint.  I don't wear foundation and powder on a daily basis so a subtle tint is great for days I want a little more coverage.  It leaves a soft matte finish, sometimes I just apply it to my t-zone.   It's also great for gym days when my skin needs a little boost.  The formula isn't super creamy and it dries to powder finish quickly.  Shades Medium 5 and 6 work best with my skin tone and I like to contour with shades Deep 8 and 9.  The light shades don't work for me.  You can easily use the stick to draw and dab the product on and blend with your fingers or brush/sponge.  They are perfect for on-the-go touch-ups.  I prefer not to use it has a primer because it isn't moisturizing.   It looks very natural leaving a second skin finish.

Would you try a Tinted Blur?

Samantha

Hi Beauties!

The long awaited Shayla x ColourPop collection created with Youtuber Shayla Mitchell was released on April 27th.  It took me three weeks to get my package from the date I ordered it and then I had to pay duties once it arrived.  Nonetheless, I'm happy to finally have the entire collection in my hands.  I've been testing it out and can't wait to share my thoughts with you today.  Everything in the collection is so Shayla, from the colours of the packaging to the names of the products.  The collection includes an eyeshadow palette, three lipsticks, a gloss and two loose highlighters.  Everything you need to Strut 'n Slay! (in Shayla's voice).  Each item can be purchased individually or bought in a bundle for $59 for the complete collection on colourpop.com.  The collection sold out pretty quickly the first time around but it has been restocked and is currently still available.

Perception Eyeshadow Palette: $23

The limited edition palette includes 16 shades of warm neutrals to cool brights.  There is a mix of matte and metallic finishes.  It comes in a matte black packaging with purple and rose gold paint splatter.  Shayla named this palette Perception because when you look at paint (artwork), everyone perceives it differently but all can relate.  She didn't just create a palette for her skin tone but for all skin tones.  The colour range is amazing.  You have your essential matte transition neutrals, rose hues, smokey plums and bright pops of colour.  You can "transform your look from a soft daytime slay to a bold and fierce night out look with one palette".  The shadows are richly pigmented and blend well.  The mattes wear for about 8 hours before fading.  The shimmers are very soft almost cream like and apply best in a patting motion or with the fingertips.  I found these crease on my lids and fade quickly when applied with my fingertips.  Using a synthetic brush helped me with this issue.  Thic is my go-to matte crease shade; it is a vibrant orange shade that looks beautiful in the crease.  Revenge and Culture are great crease shades as well.  September and Strut n' Slay are amongst my fav lid shades.  Unbothered is another pretty lid shade.  It looks ivory in the pan but looks like a soft gold on me.  I love that she named one of the shades after her fallen dog Titus which is a gunmetal shade that looks good in the outer v for cool toned smokey looks.  Sassy is another unique shade, it has a reddish-brown base with green-to-teal.  There are so many good colour options to create a variety of looks with this palette.

Unbothered: metallic ivory with a peachy flip
TF: metallic true gold
Titus: metallic gunmetal
Stallion: matte black with blue glitter
Spill the Tea: metallic warm taupe
Diva: metallic amber
I.E.: metallic olive
14: metallic navy

Strut 'n Slay: metallic rosy copper
Culture: matte soft brown
Sassy: metallic eggplant with a teal flip
September: metallic pinky violet
Revenge: matte red brown
Thic: matte vibrant orange
Played Out: matte chocolate brown
Shade: deep matte purple with violet glitter

Shayla Lux Lipstick - $7

There are three lipsticks in the Shayla Collection - a nude, coral and mauve lip.  The packaging and the star embossment on the lipsticks are so cute!  This is the first time trying the Lux lipsticks and they are creamy and glide on so smoothly.  Each lipstick contains the LUX blend of acai, jojoba and pomegranate seed butters to hydrate and nourishes the lips.  They feel soft and very comfortable to wear.  Pigmentation is also great, leaving an opaque satin finish.  Quickie is a peachy nude shade.  I was afraid this shade would be too light for me and I was right.  However, it looks good with the gloss in this collection.  Oouuuu is a warm peach shade.  I love this shade but the texture makes it settle in my lip lines.  C'mon Sis is described as a soft pinky brown.  It looks like a mauve on me and it probably looks the best on me out of the three.

L-R:  Quickie, Oouuuu, C'mom Sis and Neat Freak

Ultra Glossy Lip - $6

Neat Freak is the high shine gloss in this collection.  It is peachy champagne with pink and gold glitter.  It smooths and conditions lips and isn't sticky.  It looks lovely on top all of the lipsticks in this collection.

Luster Dust Loose Highlighter - $7

Colourpop has created their very first loose highlighter.  The Luster Dust Loose Highlighter contains finely milled soft powder that contains pearls and high shine particles. There are two different shades in this collection and they will keep you glowing all day.  Both shades look amazing on my tan complexion.  With any loose highlighter, a little goes a long way.  You can use a fan brush for a more sheer glow or a fluffy brush for an intense glow.

Pose - Warm copper

Boomin' - Peachy gold

Here I'm wearing Thic and Shade in the crease, Stallion in the outer v, September in the inner and outer part of the lid and Unbothered in the centre of the lid.  Pose and Boomin' highlighter and C'mon Sis lipstick.

Overall,  I really impressed with the Shayla x Colourpop Collection.  I would definitely recommend the Perception Eyeshadow Palette and the two highlighters.  Perception has many beautiful shades to create a variety of looks.  There is a good enough mix of mattes and metallics.  The highlighters are stunning and provide a boomin highlight.  The Creme Lux lipsticks also have a great formula.  They are pigmented and comfortable to wear.  Everything in the collection is priced very affordable but I wish I didn't have to pay duties.

Did you pick up anything from this collection?  You can shop the Shayla x Colourpop Collection here.

Samantha

Hi Beauties!

Wet n Wild introduces a new summer collection, Flights of Fancy.  It is a limited edition collection that is dedicated to hummingbirds.  The collection features bold hues and vibrant pigments inspired by the Allen's and Costa hummingbirds and their habitat.  The collection features new eyeshadow quads, lip glosses, blushes, liners and more.  I received the Limited Edition Collection Box which is available for purchase.  By purchasing this collection, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles Audubon Society, a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect birds and their habitats.  Today I will be sharing the contents of the collection box as well as swatches.

Color Icon Eyeshadow Quads - $3.99

Flock Party, Stop Ruffling My Feathers and Hasta La Costa Baby

There are three quads in this collection that feature a range of purples, blues and greens.  The quads include shades for the transition, brow bone, crease and lid to complete an entire eye look.  The palettes are the perfect shades for summer.  Stop Ruffling My Feathers is the lighter palette which can be used for creating more soft daytime looks.  The other two palettes, Flock Party and Hasta La Costa Baby, can be used for more bold looks.  I'm very drawn to the shades in these two palettes.  The mattes are fairly pigmented and they apply very smoothly.  The shimmers apply better with a wet brush or fingertips.  However, the shimmer fades rather quickly.

Flock Party and Stop Ruffling My Feathers

Hasta La Costa Baby

Color Icon Baked Blush - $6.99

The star of the Flights of Fancy Collection, in my opinion, is the Baked Blushes.  There are three different shades, each meant to give a tropical glow.   The powders are embossed with a beautiful hummingbird in the center.  It almost makes me not want to use it.  The blushes contain micro-fine pearls to achieve a nice glow to the cheeks.  All three are equally gorgeous and they blend easily into the skin.  Once blended they give a sheer glow.  Don't Flutter Yourself is a soft pink shade that looks light on my skin tone.  Dare to Soar is a bolder pink shade that looks better on my complexion.  Hummingbird Hype is a warm peach shade that adds a hint of colour to the cheeks.

Don't Flutter Yourself, Hummingbird Hype and Dare to Soar

Color Icon Lip Gloss - $4.99

Highly pigmented glosses perfect to give a vibrant summer pout.  There are five shades in this collection and I have four to share with you.  The lid of the tube is illustrated with a tropical design that includes hummingbirds.  The applicator has a flat rounded tip and picks up the right amount of product.  The glosses have a rich formula that features vitamin E to improve lip texture and murumuru seed butter to moisturize and nourish the lips.  The formula is very comfortable to wear and it's not sticky.  Fly Gal is a pink shade that is a little too light for me and has a sheer finish.  Featherless is a light peach with a sheer finish.  Pout of Paradise is a nice orange shade that is pigmented with an opaque finish.  Shut the Pluck Up is a pretty plum shade that also has an opaque finish.

Fly Gal, Featherless, Pout of Paradise and Shut the Pluck Up

MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner - $3.99

There are two eyeliners included in this box.  Gilded Wings is a metallic gold which is stunning and Winged n' Wild is a matte green shade that I don't see myself wearing that much.  The brush is very thin, which I like, to create a precise wing.

Gilded Wings and Winged n' Wild

The box also includes a Photo Focus Primer Water Spray which can be used to prep, set and refresh makeup throughout the day.  I like how it bottle sprays the product evenly.  It does have a scent that I'm not too keen on.  Lastly, is the Perfect Pout which is a lip scrub in Pecker Up.  It contains "Murumuru Seed Butter which has excellent moisturizing and nourishing properties and Tucuma Seed Butter that acts as an emollient, lubricant and moisturizing agent".  It has an artificial watermelon smell but it doesn't bother me.  The sugar really helps to buff away dead skin.

You can shop the Limited Edition Summer Limited Edition Collection Box here.

Do you have your eyes on this collection?

Samantha

Hi Beauties!

Just in time for summer, lip glosses have made a comeback.  So many brands are releasing full lip gloss collections and I couldn't be happier.  I love a good gloss and I like to pair them with my favourite lipstick.  Tarte has launched the H20 Lip Glosses as part of the Rainforest of the Sea Collection.  The glosses are water based and packed with ocean-sourced nutrients.  The H20 glosses retail for $23 CDN and $19 USD at Sephora and Tartecosmetics.com.  Today I will be sharing swatches of the entire collection.

There are a total of 14 shades in this collection.  They feature holographic, metallic, cream, and pearlescent finishes to provide an intense, super-lacquered shine.   The packaging is just beautiful, it reminds me of the blue sea.  It has a turquoise and gold ombre with texture drops that resembles water droplets for a wet look.  The shade names also remind me of vacation.  The wand has a flat oval applicator that allows you to apply the gloss evenly.  They contain antioxidant-rich marine plant extracts that help smooth the appearance of lip lines for a fuller appearance.  Besides the algae and marine plant extracts, other ingredients include vitamin E to condition and nourish the lips.  The formula isn't sticky nor does it feather or bleed.   I do find some shades settle in my lip lines.  They are comfortable to wear alone or paired with a lipstick.  I usually wear lipstick as a base to neutralize the pigmentation in my lips.  Some shades are more pigmented while some are sheerer.  For example, the darker shades like Bahamas, Out of Office and Getaway looked intimidating in the tube but they weren't that dark on the lips.  There are so many pretty shades in this range.  Some of my faves are Bora Bora, Hang Ten, Bahamas, Sandy Toes, Sundress and Zipline.  Maldives is another gorgeous shade for summer.  The blue glosses, Fiji and Oasis, are my least favourite because the cool tones don't look great on my tan complexion.

Shades:

  • Fiji (Holographic Opal With Aqua Shift)
  • Bora Bora (Holographic Pearl)
  • Oasis (Holographic Aquamarine)
  • Sandy Toes (Metallic Peachy Nude)
  • Sundress (Peachy Nude) - High Shine Finish
  • Zipline (Coral) - High Shine Finish
  •  Room Service (Mauve) - High Shine Finish
  • Resort Life (Cherry) - High Shine Finish
  •  Maui (Fuchsia) - High Shine Finish
  • Maldives (Magenta) - High Shine Finish
  • Out Of Office (Plum Luster)
  • Getaway (Metallic Mauve)
  • Hang Ten (Rose Mauve) - High Shine Finish
  • Bahamas (Iridescent Mauve)

Swatched in the order listed above.

Have you tried the H20 Glosses?  What shades are you eyeing?

Samantha

Hi Beauties!

Becca Cosmetics has introduced their new Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter.  Becca has some heavy hitters in the highlighter game including Opal and Champagne Pop.  I was really intrigued when I saw the new limited edition shade.  Well, to be honest, I'm a sucker for limited edition products and pretty patterns.  The new delicious shade has me feeling for an orange creamsicle on a hot summer day.  Dreamsicle is a soft tangerine shade with vanilla and gold swirl.  The swirl embossing is stunning and the gold reflects shimmer in the sun.  The highlighter retails for $46 CAD and $38 USD.

The highlighter comes in a white box with a tangerine swirl design that just screams summer.  The compact comes in a limited edition white and silver packaging.  The powder was "inspired by the dazzling light of the midday sun" and said to cater to all skin tones. The formula combines pigments and liquids to create a creamy texture.  I don't find it as creamy as the previous powders but the formula is finely milled and blends seamlessly into the skin.  The tangerine tone comes through as a subtle tint and isn't overwhelming.  It looks like a peachy gold on my complexion.  The highlighter itself is pigmented and has a metallic sheen with warm undertones.  The powder is easy to build without emphasizing texture.  It can be worn sheer if applied with a fan brush.  I'm looking forward to warmer sunny days to rock Dreamsicle.  It will look great with bronzy golden looks and exceptionally well once I have a tan.  With that said I think this highlighter is a universal shade.

Dreamsicle applied dry and wet

Dreamsicle compared to  NYX Synthetica Highlighter

Kudos to Becca Cosmetics for creating such a unique shade of highlighter.  I tried to find a dupe in my collection and the only thing that looks close is the NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder but it's more orange.  As I previously stated, Becca has some amazing highlighters and Dreamsicle has a formula that I've come to expect and love from the brand.  It can be worn as subtle or as popping as you like.  I'm so glad I picked this up during the Sephora VIB sale.

You can shop Dreamsicle at Sephora and Beccacosmetics.com.

Samantha

Hi Beauties!

Huda Beauty has added three new colour options to her Matte Mini Sets.  Each set contains four mini complementary Liquid Matte Lipsticks that are familiar favourites from Huda's Nude Love and Summer Solstice Collections.  The three sets are Au Naturels Nudes Edition, Blushed Nudes Edition and Power Pinks Edition.  I picked up the Au Naturels Nudes Edition because I already own the shades in the other sets.  Below are my review and swatches of this set.

Huda's liquid mattes are one of my favourite formulas.  The formula is lightweight, very comfortable to wear and easy to layer.  These shades can be worn alone or mix and match to create an ombre look.  Bikini Babe is the only shade that doesn't work on my complexion.  It is too light, it almost looks like concealer lips.  The other three shades are beautiful nudes.  Girlfriend and Trendsetter being my top picks.  Sugar Mama is a light peach shade and I need to wear a liner or two coats to cover the pigmentation on my lips.

Girlfriend - a light apricot nude

Trendsetter - a stylish brown nude

Sugar Mama - a sweet peachy nude

Bikini Babe - light apricot nude (Huda’s new favourite nude)

You can shop the Au Naturels Nudes Edition at Sephora and for $43 CAD or $33 USD.

Hi Beauties!

Make Up For Ever has introduced the latest additions to their Ultra HD line with the Underpainting Palette and the Soft Light Highlighter.  I was lucky enough to have both these items sent to me from MUFE.  Highlighter and concealer are my two favourite makeup products so I'm really excited to share these new items with you.  Both the highlighter and palette are currently available at Sephora.

Ultra HD Underpainting - $53

The Ultra HD Underpainting is a 4-in-1 palette that contains four long-lasting shades to neutralize skin tone discolouration while smoothing texture and imperfections.  It has two shades to neutralize and two shades to conceal to meet the correction needs of each individual skin tone.  It is available in six colour families to suit all complexions to correct and conceal any imperfection.  The packaging is sleek and compact and comes with a booklet illustrating how to colour correct.  The formula contains amino acid-coated pigments that offer medium to full coverage with a lightweight, second skin finish.  The six palettes range from Very Light (#20), Light (#25), Medium (#30), Tan (#40), Dark (#50) and Deep (#55).  I've chosen shade Tan which suits my complexion best.  In this palette, the dark peach shade can be used to conceal blue undertones and illuminate dull areas like my under eyes.  The yellow shade neutralizes scars, marks and dark spots such as hyperpigmentation.   The complexion correctors can be used to cover the colour correctors or worn alone.  I like to mix the two and apply the darker shade first then brighten with the lighter shade.  The formula is creamy but not too heavy and blends easily into the skin.

Underpainting #40 - Tan

Ultra HD Soft Light - $36

Soft Light is liquid highlighter meant to give a soft radiance for a lit from within glow.  It contains pure mother of pearl for a sparkle-free glow.  It contains elastomer silicone which helps blur skin’s texture and fill fine lines for a smooth result.  It comes in four different shades - Pink Pearl (#20), Golden Champagne (#30), Pink Copper (#40) and Golden Copper (#50).   The liquid highlighter can be worn alone or mixed with foundation for a dewy, second skin finish.  The consistency is very liquid so you only need to squeeze a small amount out of the tube.  It blends seamlessly into the skin to give a natural glow.  It does not emphasize any texture on the skin.  I like to wear it as a base for my powder highlights.

Soft Light #40 - Pink Copper: swatched and blended in

I'm really liking the Underpainting palette to colour correct and conceal.  The formula is very lightweight and pigmented.  It works well to hide my hyperpigmentation and dark under eye circles.  The Soft Light gives a subtle radiant glow if you're looking for a nice glow from within highlighter.
