In today’s post we’ll be covering the voodoo suspension magic known as our proprietary FST (Frequency Sensing Technology).

What is FST and why would I want it on my bike? In essence, compared to other shocks, anything equipped with FST is doing double duty (almost as if there are two sets of shocks on the bike, one for big bumps and one for small road vibrations). From a technical perspective, FST has the unique ability to dynamically adjust damping as you ride; what this means is whether you’re hitting the small or big bumps in the road, the shock distributes oil through ports accordingly to soak up the hit making for an ultimately comfortable ride with unsurpassed performance to boot. The question then becomes: why WOULDN’T you want it on your bike!?

We offer a variety of our suspension solutions with our FST technology including our 944 Series Shocks and Monotube Fork Cartridge Kit for HD Touring Models and our 444 Series Shocks for HD Dyna and Sportster models as well as select metric applications.

Progressive Suspension’s 444 Series Shocks feature a proprietary patented Frequency Sensing Technology (FST) that has the unique ability to dynamically adjust damping as you ride; what this means is whether you’re hitting the small or big bumps in the road, the shock distributes oil through ports accordingly to soak up the hit making for an ultimately comfortable ride. A top mount threaded preload adjuster allows for fine-tuning with a simple twist of the cap.

Also available are the Progressive 944 Ultra Touring shocks, which are designed to deliver a comfortable ride at a 1″ lowered stance. Built around their latest FST technology, The Ultra Touring shocks utilize all the suspension travel provided by the full-length stock units, but in a 1″ lowered ride height. The unique Ultra Touring spring combination not only delivers a lowered ride height while its being ridden, but also while it’s on the side stand.

Both the 444 Series and 944 Ultra Touring shocks are available in 3 configurations: Standard (Up to 250 lbs.), Heavy-duty (250-350 lbs.) and now the NEW FOR 2017 Super-duty (350+ lbs.) Standard, Heavy Duty and Super Heavy Duty in 13”, 13.5” and 13” LOW lengths for the Harley-Davidson Touring Models.

NOTE: Super Heavy Duty shocks do not increase the load capacity of the bike designated by the manufacturer. Both shocks are tested, tuned and dyno’d in Progressive’s facility in La Palma, California and come with a lifetime limited warranty.

Rob from 1 Wheel Revolution is a rider we sponsor because he never seizes to amaze us with the way he pushes himself and his bikes to their limits all while getting unrivaled content in the process. This particular video and photo shoot included Rob’s Sporty getting equipped with some ‘ice friendly’ tire tread so all of his stunts could be maintained out in the tundra. Our 970 Series Shocks kept the rear stable in even the iciest of conditions giving Rob the confidence in his ride to pull as many wheelies and slides along the slick as his heart desired. Check out just a few shots from the shoot and be sure to follow him on Instagram and Facebook for much more!

Progressive Suspension has expanded their Lowered Fork Spring Kit offering by adding the new 2017 FL Touring models to their lineup. The Fork Spring Kits soak up the small road bumps, yet are firm enough to absorb the molar-rattling ones. Spring rates have been chosen to reduce front end “dive” during braking, yet still provide excellent ride comfort. Better yet, we warranty our fork springs for life! Progressive Rate Fork Springs have several advantages over straight rate springs. A Progressive Rate Spring has the advantage of a rising rate resistance to compression. The benefit of this is that the spring can be soft enough at the start of the travel to offer a “plush” ride, yet be firm enough at the end of the travel to soak up the big bumps.

The benefit of this is that the spring can be soft enough at the start of the travel to offer a “plush” ride, yet be firm enough at the end of the travel to soak up the big bumps. Progressive Suspension has gone back to the drawing board and created a state of the art Fork Cartridge Kit designed to outperform everything on the market.  Our new asymmetrical design places a preload adjuster over a progressive rate spring in one leg and an aluminum bodied, sealed cartridge damper on the other.
