Morgan Truck Body, LLC, North America’s largest manufacturer of light- and medium-duty truck bodies, announces the expansion of its manufacturing footprint in the Midwest. The new facility is located at 600 East Chestnut St.in Orrville, OH, approximately one-half hour west of Canton. It will be capable of producing a combination of 4,000 dry freight and refrigerated truck bodies annually, supporting both retail and fleet customers. Morgan expects to employ approximately 140 team members in a facility that will encompass roughly 210,000 square feet of production, office, and warehouse space. When combined with Morgan’s acquisition of Multivans in Bolton, Ontario and the opening of a plant in Plainfield, Connecticut in late 2018, the Orrville plant represents Morgan’s 14thin the US and Canada.

Morgan has been the leader in Final Mile transportation solutions for more than 65 years. 

“Morgan continues executing its aggressive growth strategy by launching innovative new products, penetrating new markets, and pursuing key acquisitions. This has resulted in record revenues, thus allowing us to expand even further with new production facilities,” stated Norb Markert, President and CEO.

A team including JobsOhio, Team NEO, Wayne Economic Development Council and the City of Orrville collaborated to ensure Morgan chose Northeast Ohio for its expansion.

Morgantown, Pennsylvania – Morgan Truck Body, LLC, North America’s premier designer and producer of light and medium-duty truck and van bodies announces that it has reached an agreement with General Motors Fleet to increase the number of bailment pool locations. This will allow Morgan to more swiftly meet growing demands for upfitted Chevrolet Low Cab Forwards, the new Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD/5500HD/6500HD as well as the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savanna.

Currently, Morgan upfits bodies on GM chassis at two plant locations: Riverside, California, (since 2006), and Denver, Pennsylvania, (since 2013).The newest Morgan plant to order these chassis cabs is in Portland, Oregon; with additional pools opening this year in Corsicana, Texas (June) as well as Rydal, Georgia and Janesville, Wisconsin (August).

Plainfield, Connecticut, USA – Morgan Truck Body, LLC, North America’s largest manufacturer of light and medium-duty truck bodies, has marked another milestone in its continuing robust growth strategy. Following the recent acquisition of Multivans (Bolton, Ontario), Morgan celebrated the grand opening of its new 175,000 ft2 manufacturing facility in Plainfield, Connecticut on November 14. Morgan Corporation, with U.S. headquarters in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, is the recognized premier producer of truck and van bodies in North America.

Morgan’s new Connecticut facility is capable of supporting production of over 3,000 dry freight and refrigerated (reefer) truck bodies annually and is expected to employ approximately 140 team members. The manufacturing facility is Morgan’s 13th in the US and Canada and there are plans to add a 14th in the Midwest in the near future.

The grand opening and ribbon-cutting was attended by John Poindexter, Chairman of the Board and CEO of J.B. Poindexter & Co. Inc., Morgan management personnel, including Norb Markert, President and COO of Morgan Truck Body, who led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a host of State and Local officials including State Representative Kevin Skulczyck, State Representative Anne Dauphinais, and State Senator Heather Somers, plus local Selectmen of Plainfield.

Proclamations issued for the opening included a Certificate of Accomplishment, presented by the office of U.S. Senator Christopher S. Murphy; an Official Statement by His Excellency Daniel P. Malloy, Governor of the State of Connecticut; an Official Proclamation, presented by the Office of the First Selectman, Cathy Tendrich, Plainfield, Connecticut and Virginia Sampietro, Selectman; an Official Citation by the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut, in recognition of the Grand Opening of the new Morgan facility; a Congratulatory certificate presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut, and a Certificate of Membership in the Chamber.

The new manufacturing facility is located at 85 Moosup Pond Rd in Plainfield, CT, approximately one hour east of Hartford.

Multivans will continue to operate as a separate entity as Morgan–Multivans Canada Corporation and a seamless transition is expected.
