As pediculosis capitis or head lice infestation continues to be a concern in public schools in the Philippines, Lamoiyan Corporation’s Licealiz has led the nationwide rollout of Kilusang Kontra Kuto or KKK.
As a part of the mission to create a kuto -free Philippines, Kilusang Kontra Kuto, a coalition of head lice prevention experts and advocates led by Lamoiyan Corporation’s Licealiz, the Department of Education or DepEd, UP Manila College of Public Health, Mommy Bloggers Philippines, and Drugstores Association of the Philippines, was created. Now on its third year, they want to make its impact bigger and its reach wider in order to eliminate kuto by educating the public about the problem. They will be visiting different schools in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
According to a study conducted by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the University of the Philippines, head lice infestation is still considered as the second most common health problem in public schools in the Philippines next to tooth decay. While it may not be a fatal condition, attention must still be given to this persistent condition which commonly found in school children.
Here are some problems that head lice can cause if left untreated:

It can cause other serious infections.
The surface of our skin is filled with different kinds of bacteria. According to Dr. Arlene Bertuso from University of the Philippines Manila College of Public Health, while lice itself can’t cause infections, “severe scratching caused by allergic reactions to the insects’ saliva can cause the scalp to break, therefore increasing the chance of a secondary bacterial infection.”
It can decrease self-confidence in a child and the parents.
Head lice or kuto often has a negative connotation due to its association with poor hygiene and low social status, which can cause a child to lose confidence, especially around his or her peers. However, the child isn’t the only one affected as the parents can also experience loss of confidence. Parents whose child has been infected with head lice feel embarrassed since they feel like they exhibited poor parenting by letting their child get head lice infestation.

It decreases academic or work productivity.
Itchiness and inflammation are effects from the bites of head lice. The irritation caused by the bites of the head lice can disrupt concentration in school or at work, hence affecting productivity. It can also cause loss of sleep, which can then lead to irritability, short attention span and lack of focus. In addition to that, “it dramatically affects the school performance of children because of the discomfort and social stigma it causes,” as stated in the study by DepEd and the University of the Philippines.
Misinformation can cause more damage.
Myths and superstitions are already ingrained in Filipino culture and society. Kuto is surrounded by several of these myths and misconceptions that can be harmful to the infested such as the use of mayonnaise or kerosene and wrapping the child’s head with plastic overnight. Contrary to popular belief, lice can also be acquired at any age and by any gender. Incorrect information like these can lead to untreated head lice, which can spread quickly to the whole family or to the whole class simply through physical contact with one infested person.
Head lice is often overlooked or disregarded despite its many negative impacts, but this problem can be solved with correct information and appropriate control methods. Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo is an effective solution to eliminate and prevent head lice.

Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo in Regular and Soothing Coolness (10mL and 60mL)

There are many legal matters involved in setting up a company, even for a small company. If you are thinking of setting up a small company as a sole proprietorship, you will have to find out in details the things needed before you rush into it. Be patient to take everything step by step. There are some of the things you will need to know and the necessary steps to take before you can set up your sole proprietorship.

If you live in Wisconsin, you can set up a sole proprietorship in Wisconsin without having to file any legal documents with the state government of Wisconsin.

Here are some simple steps you will need to take:

Choose a name for your company. If you are a sole proprietor, you may use your own name if you wish.

If you want to use a trade name, that name should not be used by any other currently listed registered company. It will be better to choose a name that is unique from other registered name.

If you need help you can do database on the website of Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions to see if your chosen name is available. If you have decided to use a trade name, you are required to fill out a form to register your company’s name and you will have to pay a filing fee.

Check with the Wisconsin Licensing, Permit and Registration Service the type of businesses licenses you will have to obtain that may apply to your business, depending on your business activities.

Next, if you intend to employ someone to work for you, you will need to apply an Employer Identification Number or EIN number Wisconsin with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for tax reporting purposes. You will need this tax id number to report your employee’s wages to the IRS.

Application of EIN or your sole proprietorship TIN can be done online at the IRS website.

If you are a sole proprietor and do not have any employee, then you are not required to obtain an EIN or the Federal tax id number. You can use your own Social Security number (SSN) to report taxes. But if you like, you can apply for an EIN for your business because you may be required by the bank when you need to open a bank account for your business.

The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) and the National Telecommunications Communication (NTC) are helping each other in fighting the expected surge of   illegal broadcast stations across the country in view of the coming midterm elections.

“This is year 2018 and there’s usually a proliferation of illegal broadcast stations leading to election day in May next year,” said Erwin V. Galang, head of the technical committee and trustee of the KBP.

Majority of the administrative cases the NTC handles under its mandate are cease and desist and show cause orders against illegal broadcast stations, and according to Deputy Commissioner Edgardo Cabarios, the NTC’s previous cooperation and coordination with the KBP has led to the crackdown of fly-by-night broadcast stations, mostly in the provinces, who had victimized unsuspecting candidates to buy airtime for their political advertisements. These illegal broadcasters usually disappear after they received payment for the political ads.

“Historically, we can see a steep increase in the number of cases in broadcast services in relation to unlicensed broadcasts leading to the election campaign period. What we do is we immediately issue cease-and-desist and show-cause orders against these illegal operators, forcing them to shut down their stations, while others simply disappear,” Cabarios said.

In the 2017 report by the Commission on Audit (COA, majority of the cases were administrative complaints initiated by NTC for violations of erring  radio stations with almost 2,054 cases in the broadcast services division.

According to Auditor Ma. Jocelyn Factora, COA’s 2017 resident auditor in the NTC, majority of the pending administrative cases represented cases filed by NTC against illegal broadcast stations, and not cases from telco consumers. “The pending telco-related cases from consumers are very minimal.”

As of 31 December 2017, there are only 148 telco consumer cases pending before the NTC’s Legal Office which are now subject of review and resolution.

Manolo Fortich Playland
located at the heart of Centennial Plaza, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon is a must for every child and kids at heart, and of course for the whole family.

The playground is open to the public since last Sunday of August 12, 2018 by our beloved Mayor Clive Quino.

The Quino Family was present during the blessing ceremony together with the visitors, parents and the kids as well.

Video below shows the entire view of the playground.
Manolo Fortich Playland - YouTube

More photos of the playground, where its complete set of the playground is there. From slides, swing, seesaw and much more.

Rope Tunnel for adventurous kids.

The good thing about the playground is that this is for FREE, not only for Manolonians but to visitors as well. 50 kids for 30 minutes is the average time range to share it to other kids. Observed rules shall be placing shoes and slippers at the side. Parents of little kids shall accompany and guide their little one and not to worry about the flooring because it is rubberized.

Isn't it great to have this kind of attraction that is so modernized and child friendly too? And this is why I love Manolo Fortich.

Ali na Kamo sa Manolo Fortich!!!
(Come to Manolo Fortich!!!)

It was an ordinary day for me and my little lady MM as we stroll at Ororama Chain of Store Cogon Branch. There was a celebration at the store, an anniversary that is which I didn’t mind to do shopping or having some grocery. Not until I saw this jaw dropping prices from department store and grocery items which are in sale too. Most of it was priced as Php49 and it’s because of their 49th anniversary.

If you are one of their Rewards Club Member then you have the opportunity to spin in the “Roleta”. Items available are as follows; Gas Stove, Electric Kettle, Electric Iron and Bath Towel, all of those are priced at Php49 if you spin and won one. And also you could claim your 49 points worth of Ororama Products from the Redemption Center Area.

Luckily, as one of the Rewards Club Member, I got to spin in the “Roleta” and it stopped at the Gas Stove. An unexpected moment it is because most of the Rewards Club Member got a bath towel. Gas Stove price  worth was roughly a Php800+ I guess but because of its 49th anniversary I got it for only Php49.

An obligatory pose with the Marketing Manager of Ororama Chain of Store, Ms. Globe.

Such an unforgettable day at Ororama’s 49th anniversary. And now I am looking forward for their 50th anniversary celebration. I am quite sure that somethin’ big is going to happen and I am excited for it. So, shall I see you at Ororama? Thanks a bunch Ororama for these super sales and indeed a great celebration.

On the instruction of President Rodrigo Duterte to make goods and services affordable and accessible to consumers, particularly the marginalized, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez has immediately put forward the proposal to reduce the telco interconnection rates to the New Major Player Oversight Committee.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) then issued Department Order No. 002 directing the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to study and formulate the guidelines that will bring down the cost of interconnection
In the draft Memorandum Circular (MC) drafted by the NTC following a study, interconnection charges were reduced to P 0.50 per minute from P 2.50 per minute for voice service and P 0.05 per text from P 0.15 per text for SMS.

A public hearing was conducted to enable telecommunication companies to comment and submit their position paperspertaining to the MC.

On July 19, 2018, the final MC was issued by the NTC.

The reduced interconnection rates are expected to benefit consumers across socio-economic classes, making voice call and SMS services between networks more affordable. This will also allow telcos to attract more subscribers and offer a wide variety of unlimited plans and services.

Significantly, the MC will benefit landline subscribers and users of basic 2G mobile phones nationwide, majority of whom belong to the marginalized sectors of society.
