When asked where the best place for an elopement near Banff is, Vermillion Lakes comes to mind immediately. Mountains, a lake, a dock over water. It’s everything you could want in one gorgeous and decently private location away from the masses of tourists. I love working in Banff, Canmore and area, it’s such a spectacular setting no matter the season… even in the smokey days of August! I met Jill and Troy for a first glance at the Banff Springs hotel and from there we set off for Vermillion Lakes for a beautifully intimate and gorgeous elopement. I worked from afar so it really was as though they were by themselves. Jill wanted dramatic creatives so we hit up the staircase and Lake Minnewanka as well as Surprise Corner for views of the Banff Springs Hotel. It was a fantastic day, and it was almost painful for me to have to stop shooting! I could have spent the entire day with them. I love my job!!!
To witness the emotion and intensity of love between these two women was a true honor. Francis was downright giddy, smiling from ear to ear. I loved every minute. The intimate setting of the Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant in Fish Creek, Calgary was perfect for this elopement. My goal as a photographer is to be authentic and capture my clients’ true personalities. As mentioned above, Francis was buzzing with energy and at the start of the creatives she kicked her leg out to kiss Christine. And so jumping, dancing, kicking was used throughout their session. Francis’ smile confirmed that I hit the mark with it all. So MUCH FUN!!!! Can’t wait to see these two in the spring for another session when it’s warmer!
Give me mountains and newly fallen snow and a gorgeous couple and I am on cloud nine! I’m always thrilled to be back at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. I love that everyone stays on the lodge grounds, it makes for a perfectly effortless and care free event. And let’s talk about the new Nordic Spa that I’m dying to try out this winter. Joe and Johanna had an epic day for their elopement in the mountains and it was so nice for them to be surrounded by their smiling and happy families. If you’re looking for epic mountain views, look no further than the Pomeroy Mountain Lodge and certainly hire me too! ha! I love small weddings and elopements and would love to chat with you.
Happy Pride Month! Vermillion Lakes near Banff, Alberta is the perfect setting for an elopement, those docks are just amazing! It is indeed one of my favourite locations so I was thrilled when Trinity and Margaret told me those docks were the location for their Rocky Mountain elopement. It was a bit of a blustery day, but everyone was in good spirits and we had a wonderful time. Congrats you two and love to you both!
This was my first visit to Water Valley for this gorgeous country wedding between Traceyann and Davie, and I certainly hope it won’t be my last. I’ve lived my whole life in Calgary, AB but hadn’t been out the way of Water Valley and I must say, it was a treat to photograph the landscape, not to mention the easy-going and happy couple and their bridal party. Needless to say, we laughed a lot and had a great time. And can we talk about the cows! I’ve photographed a lot of wildlife, but I’ve never been in a pen with so many cows and a bride and groom. I could hardly contain my excitement, especially because Davie adores them so it brought a lot of meaning to the shoot as well. The Water Valley church is a must-see. It has been completely restored and the grounds are a Pinterest-lovers dream. There’s a small outdoor bar area with edison bulb string lights, a beautiful little cabin for getting ready and the Church itself is just beautiful. I highly recommend it! If you’re planning a wedding or elopement in the Water Valley area, I want to photograph it! Please get in touch so we can discuss your own amazing day.
Oh I am just such a fan of Emerald Lake. It’s such a relaxing and serene atmosphere and perfect for a wedding or elopement. Shannon and Rick and their adorable daughter chose Emerald Lake Lodge for their elopement and it was a stunning day. The sunshine and blue skies made the brilliant green water sparkle even more than it usually does. I loved the country vibe, the cowboy hat and the boots, it’s just so them. My passion is photographing real people. It is what sets my heart on fire, seriously. I want the realness, I live for it. If you’re planning a wedding or elopement at Emerald Lake Lodge in Field, BC, please get in touch! I’d love to work with you!
The hazy days of summer are upon us and I couldn’t be more excited! This Canmore elopement was just perfect, set in the valley amidst bright blue skies, golden grasses and those majestic mountains. The river was a welcome sight as it cooled us off on this hot summer day. I adore working with children, and combining them with a wedding, well it is just the best! If you are planning an elopement in the Canmore, Banff, Emerald Lake, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake areas, definitely get in touch! I’d love to work with you!
