Disney On Ice Review - Mickey's Super Celebration 2019 Experience and Tips to Stay Ahead of the Crowd

Hi dear reader, we just attended Disney on Ice at Singapore Indoor Stadium earlier today. It was the first-time ever for Maeleth, Amilee and I.

In short, the experience was world-class and awesome!

I don't want to give away too much spoilers in this post in case you're planning to go over the next few days (the show runs until 24 March 2019) so I'll focus on sharing tips on how you can stay ahead of the horde of show-goers before and after the show!
We just attended Disney on Ice at Singapore Indoor Stadium earlier today. It was the first-time ever for Maeleth, Amilee and I. In short, the experience was world-class and awesome!

What to wear?

Mae wore a Minnie Mouse ears headband, a dress -- the top covered her biceps, and black "Disney's Frozen" boots. We brought a jacket for her along in case it was cold but she didn't need it.

Many little girls were donning their favorite Frozen Elsa dress

Amilee is more susceptible to the cold, so she wore a long sleeved top.

A T-shirt was comfortable enough for me. I didn't want to wear long-sleeved because that would be very uncomfortable to wear while queuing under the hot sun.

Mae's outfit of the day for Disney On Ice!
Love this shot of the two lovely ladies

Where to park your car

We parked our car in Carpark 5 on parking lot number 69, right in front of Kallang Leisure Park. After much recee-ing, we decided on that lot because it is one of the best positions to exit the carpark after the show.

You want to avoid any parking lots that requires a U-turn to get out of the carpark because you'll surely be trapped in the post-show congestion.

If you can see, Mae and I are facing the way out. Just drive straight all the way and that's the exit towards ECP. So if you live in the East like us, this is the probably the perfect parking lot.

Where to have dinner

We chose to park at Kallang Leisure Park (KLP) to avoid the post-show traffic congestion and ate dinner there.

Turns out that KLP has many eateries. Level 1 has fast-food selections like Burger King, Subway, Long John Silver's (where we ate at) and more. Level 3 has a food court.

Mae was so happy to eat her favorite french fries. Not too much, Mae, or you'll get a sore throat.

Amilee wisely packed some homemade cheese and ham sandwiches for us. We ate some of them and left some to eat after the Disney On Ice show.

We left the un-eaten sandwiches and our own drinks in the car just in case they didn't allow them in during the security bag check prior to entering the event venue.

We had Long John Silver's for dinner. Check out Mae's cheeky "Look, I'm eating my favorite french fries" kind of face!

How to walk to Singapore Indoor Stadium?

There is a convenient escalator up and a linkway bridge connecting to Singapore Indoor Stadium, just a short walk away.

I carried Mae in the baby carrier in back-carry mode because I like having my hands free and in the event of a long queue, I wouldn't get too tired from carrying her (12.5kg) in my arms.

Mae really enjoys back carry because it's fun for her and probably reminds her of horse-riding. Guess who's the horse, haha. No prizes for getting it right!

Mae loves to rest in the back-carry baby carrier!

What type of tickets to get?

We received awesome complimentary VVIP section tickets from Touch PR and Events - thank you so much!

We were seated in row 4 from the stage -- so unbelievably close! We could clearly see the actors' faces!

There's no big screen that televises the performance all the time so I can't imagine the experience of those who sat way up high at the back. Probably only seeing little dots skating around.

For the best, worthwhile experience, get the VVIP and above tickets, if possible. It's worth it.

The highest ticket tier is the Magical Moments package which is S$225. Those seats are rinkside -- right next to the stage and you can almost stretch out your arms to touch the actors.

(Extracted from SportsHub website) Each Magical Moment Package will include:
- 1 Rinkside seat (1st row)
- Priority entrance access
- Crowd-free merchandise shopping opportunity (30 mins before general doors open)
- VIP lanyard & poster
- Post-Show Meet & Greet with a Star from the show
(Selection of Meet & greet character subject to Promoter’s discretion)

A few blessed children sitting in that area were chosen to participate in the show by sitting in a tea cup shaped cart during the Finding Dory segment, and in the Disney Princesses segment, two girls were chosen to sit on a pavement right by the ice-skating rink.

I can imagine that it's a very special way to celebrate a birthday, as a reward for good behavior, or just to treat your child to a special experience of a lifetime.

We received complimentary VVIP tickets from Touch PR and Events! We had such great seats -- row 4! We were unbelievably close to the ice-skating rink!
Disney on Ice show schedule between 20 - 24 March 2019 and ticket prices

What merchandise to buy?

I can't really answer this one for you. It's really up to the preference of your children. Mae doesn't really know many Disney characters except for Elsa, Mickey, Minnie, and Winnie the Pooh.

I highly recommend buying a snack for your child though. Mae was pretty restless before the show and during the intermission -- wait, actually throughout the whole thing!

If it were not for the snacks, Mae would be running all around and we'd be frustratedly trying to stop her.

We purchased a box of popcorn for $8. The serving is generous, such that we couldn't finish it between the three of us.

Below is a gallery of photos I took of the merchandise that's available for purchase. See if anything catches your eye!

The show itself

Important Note: If you have  a young child like Mae (3 years old), you should borrow a booster seat from them before you get seated.
They are available on a first-come-first-served basis and are limited in number. You can get them between 1 hour prior to show up to show time (7pm).

The booster seats are very slippery on the seats though, and since the seats spring back up if you're not seated on them, be careful when your kids sit on them.

Mae received a Maui Fishhook toy and it's actually really cool! It doesn't come with batteries though, so she could only play with its multiple light-up patterns after we got home.

Amilee and I's personal favorite segment is Princess Ariel's (Little Mermaid) short but incredible aerial (pun-intended) acrobatics.
It was dizzyingly-epic, and a nice "Part of Your World" medley boosted the excitement of it all.

Our second favorite is the Frozen "Let It Go" segment. Ah, so cliche and expected right? But there is a reason why that song is so popular!!
Actually all the Frozen songs were nice -- "Do You Want to Build a Snowman", "For the First Time in Forever", "Love is an Open Door" were great.
I'm hooked on this little cutie.

Post-show tips

We packed up and left the moment they announced that the show had ended. We walked straight towards our car and still there was some congestion in the carpark, but it could have been a lot worse if we chose a different parking lot.

Remember those sandwiches that we didn't finish? Mae and I chowed down on one while waiting for the traffic to clear up. Have a snack on hand because you'll probably need it.

By the time we left the carpark it was about 9.10pm so be prepared to get home late. Make proper arrangements for quick clean up and bedtime for kids.

I hope this post helps you to stay ahead of the crowd when you go for the show -- you can book your tickets here. Have a very enjoyable Disney On Ice experience!

 Bible Evidence for Pre-Tribulation Rapture

There is a lot of debating going on online about the sequence of end-time events and whether the Rapture will happen before, during or after the Great Tribulation.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the terms, let me explain what is the Rapture and what is the Great Tribulation.

The name “Rapture” is not found in the Bible, but is a term coined by believers to refer to this event:

“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left to the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 WEB)

The Great Tribulation is a future period of 7 years of great suffering on earth due to the tyrannical rule of an evil global dictator called the Antichrist, and also God’s judgment and wrath being poured out into the world:

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:21-22 NKJV)

These “elect” are not us. It’s talking about the people who become believers during the Great Tribulation. They are “elect” and not “saints” because they don’t have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside them.

The Great Tribulation is shortened to only 7 years because if it dragged on longer than that, the elect would give up and renounce their faith in desperation.

During the Great Tribulation, salvation is not "once saved always saved". Only those who endure in their faith in Jesus to the end without taking the Mark of the Beast will be saved.

The Great Tribulation is a future period of 7 years of great suffering on earth due to the tyrannical rule of an evil global dictator called the Antichrist, and also God’s judgment and wrath being poured out into the world.

Pre-Tribulation believers will not go through the Great Tribulation

"This book is absolutely breathtaking. We don't work to be saved but were created to do good works. I am so energized and excited to know God values our works and we will be rewarded. This is all Glory to Jesus... I cant wait to throw my crowns at his feet and thank him for saving my life!" - Evangelist Michael Clark, USA

"Tremendous, powerful. I love Milton Goh's approach, not only for his emphasis on grace which is so powerful, but Milton's teaching also stands out for an abundance of Biblical wisdom when even many believers stray from key Biblical truths. The truths in this resonated deeply." - Donald Berg, USA

"Dear Milton Goh, I truly thank our Abba, Father for the revelations in this book. It is so amazing how I begin to discover important verses in the Bible that I have never read. That instead of following riches, with sleepless nights, and actually shortening our lives, we are just to 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ', and 'Love one another'. How beautiful to find out that actually in the Bible there is both 'Earthly or Worldly Investment Wisdom' and 'Eternal Investment Wisdom' according to the revelations here from Ecclesiastes 5:14-17 WEB)!; “It seems like Solomon was not only wise at earning material riches but also at earning eternal riches.” All the glory to our Lord Jesus Christ! God bless you Milton Goh for such a wonderful book!" - Nitta Nierra from Belgium

"I'm reading this book and loving it! The revelations of the Gospel truth shared and it's life applications are absolutely amazing! I give glory to the Lord Jesus for my dear brother Milton for this exceptional resource. I'm gonna keep feeding on its contents and believe God for supernatural breakthroughs as my mind is renewed in Christ!" - Terence from Tombel, Cameroon

"Hi Milton I really enjoyed the message! It really encouraged me. I have a hope that does not disappoint, a future of great rewards, built only on Jesus and nothing can give greater satisfaction than Jesus!" - Antoinette H. Keyser from South Africa

"Milton Goh my brother, your insight on Grace has set me free from 20 yrs of addiction. I was a 7 time felon but by the GRACE of God I am now an ordained minister. Here is some of my story: I was saved in Dec 2016 and started evangelizing in July of 2017 as soon as I was released. My ministry has led over 800 to Jesus. I was getting tired trying to perform what I thought God needed from me. You have made me realize it's 100% the CROSS and now I go constantly for Jesus but never get tired. Thanks for your wisdom and love for Jesus. May God bless you and your family!"

Some people believe that the following passage shows that the Rapture will happen after the Great Tribulation:

“Now in regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to meet Him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to be quickly unsettled or alarmed either by a [so-called prophetic revelation of a] spirit or a message or a letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] come. Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed], who opposes and exalts himself [so proudly and so insolently] above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he [actually enters and] takes his seat in the temple of God, publicly proclaiming that he himself is God.” (2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-4 AMP)

"The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to meet Him" is definitely referring to the Rapture.

However those who believe in a post-Tribulation (Post Trib) Rapture mistakenly think that the “Day of the Lord” mentioned in the passage is also talking about the Rapture.

No that’s not what the “Day of the Lord” is. That day is described in the Old Testament:

“Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south. Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD my God will come, And all the saints with You. It shall come to pass in that day That there will be no light; The lights will diminish. It shall be one day Which is known to the LORD — Neither day nor night. But at evening time it shall happen That it will be light. And in that day it shall be That living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, Half of them toward the eastern sea And half of them toward the western sea; In both summer and winter it shall occur. And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be— “The LORD is one,” And His name one.” (Zechariah 14:1-9 NKJV)

The Day of the Lord is not the Rapture, but it is the “Second Coming of Jesus Christ” (Second Coming).
On that day, AFTER the Great Tribulation, He will return not to gather His saints to Himself but to come back WITH His saints to destroy the Antichrist and establish His Millennial kingdom on earth.

So back to 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, let’s use an analogy to explain what it means.

Let’s say you’re watching a musical. There are different “Acts” to represent different segments of the show.
Let’s say that the Rapture is Act 1, the Great Tribulation is Act 2, and the Day of the Lord (Second Coming) is Act 3.

So the passage is saying that regarding Act 1, people are saying that Act 3 had already come, so it’s understood that they were suggesting that Act 1 had already passed.
Then it goes on to say that Act 3 will not happen until Act 2 happens.
I hope that makes sense!

Another passage that people who believe in a Post-Trib Rapture like to quote is this one:

““Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:29-31 NKJV)

They will say “See? It’s after the Tribulation that the angels will gather the elect from one end of heaven to the other.”

Yes, but this gathering of the elect is not gathering for the Rapture, but gathering to Jerusalem so as to establish Jesus’ Millennial kingdom on earth.
You see, Jesus won’t expect the believers at that time to book plane tickets to fly in batches to Jerusalem — no, the angels will transport them all to Jerusalem!

“Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” (Revelation 3:10 WEB)

In the Book of Revelation, the verse above are Jesus’ words to the church as written through the apostle John.
As you can see, Pre-Trib believers will be kept from the “hour of testing” which is the Great Tribulation.

God’s word says the following:

“Also to punish the righteous is not good, nor to flog officials for their integrity.” (Proverbs 17:26 WEB)

We who believe in Jesus are righteous in God’s eyes. By faith, we have been clothed with Jesus’ own righteousness.
God is not going to punish the righteous together with the wicked.

Even back in the days of Lot, Lot and his family were removed from Sodom before God rained fire and brimstone upon the city.

Noah and his family were also hidden safely in the Ark before God sent the Flood by opening the windows of heaven and the fountains of the deep.

When the children of Israel were in Egypt, God made a difference between the children of Israel and the Egyptians.
He poured out His plagues upon the Egyptians but the children of Israel were protected from the plagues.

There is Someone restraining the Great Tribulation from happening right now:

“Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;” (2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 WEB)

This Someone is the Holy Spirit who is dwelling inside every believer on earth. He is the One restraining the evil that is already at work in this world.
When the Rapture happens, the Holy Spirit will leave the earth together with all of us who believe.
Once the Holy Spirit is gone from the earth, the Great Tribulation will finally begin, and the Antichrist will be revealed.

So as you can see, the Rapture will happen before the Great Tribulation. Rejoice because you and I who believe in Jesus will not be going through the Tribulation!

17 March 2019 - The Story of Job Through the Lens of Grace - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

Praise and Worship songs performed:
  1. In Christ Alone - Keith Getty
  2. When I Survey the Wonderful Cross - Isaac Watts
  3. With All I Am - Hillsong Worship
  4. Here - New Creation Worship

God is a loving God. Man not knowing this was the source of the original sin.
Eve didn’t believe that God’s commandment was for her own good.
The devil always presents God as not generous and always out for His own gain.

If God compromises on His righteousness, the whole universe would disintegrate.
God is holy in all He does, but the essence of God is love.
God is self-sacrificing and loving.

You don’t have to give Him a reason to love you — that frustrates His Grace.
He is good to you because He is good.

Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
This was shown even in the Garden of Eden when God clothed Adam and Eve with the hide of the dead animal and its blood.

Every man has sin in his blood. That’s why the virgin birth was needed.
Medical science has discovered that the placenta only brings food to the baby and brings waste away from the baby — it does not bring the mother’s blood to the baby.
Mary’s sinful blood didn’t taint Jesus.
The mystery of the Triune God: Three in One and One in Three.
Jesus, one of the Three, came down to earth.

Today if God rejects the sinner who believes in Jesus, in essence He’s saying that “Jesus’ work at the cross wasn’t perfect,” and He would have to apologize to Jesus.
But God doesn’t need to apologize to anyone.
He never recalls His word and doesn’t make any mistakes.

God sent Jesus for this purpose. Through the cross, the holiness of God is magnified.
The devil understands the Law, but Grace is beyond him. The devil is a lawyer. Jesus is also a lawyer.

Today God is righteous in making us righteous. The righteous basis is the cross.
Our salvation came at such a cost, such that God’s only Son had to die for us.
Without the cross, God cannot make us righteous.

Imagine you’re standing in front of the world’s worst criminal. You feel love for him, compassion for him, and you want to die in his place for his crimes.
To add to that, you even want to give all your assets to him.
To man, that is double-whammy weird, but that is what God did for us.

Job was an upright person. In today’s dispensation, Job would be a believer who has been made righteous by the blood of Jesus. As believers sometimes we go through trials. Job’s trials lasted for 9 months.

Preaching from experience, tradition and legality doesn't work - it produces the opposite result

The Book of Job is part of the three wisdom Books of the Bible: Job, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes.

Job 1:1-3 - Job was an upright person. In today’s dispensation, Job would be a believer who has been made righteous by the blood of Jesus.
As believers sometimes we go through trials.
Job’s trials lasted for 9 months.
Job is the oldest book in the Bible. He lived before Abraham.
Job’s story is not about Israel. Israel had not existed yet. Israel would come from the loins of Abraham.
The Law wasn’t given yet during Job’s time. There was a moral code, but not the Law.

“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil. There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. His possessions also were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the children of the east.” (Job 1:1-3 WEB)

Job 26:7 - Many scientific discoveries had been long revealed in the Book of Job.
The Book of Job reveals that God hangs the earth upon nothing, long before man discovered it through science.
Fingerprinting is revealed in this book.
The Orion (southern cross) that guides man home is revealed too.
Condensation of water is also revealed in this book.

“He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing.” (Job 26:7 WEB)

Blaming others for mistakes is a sign of self-righteousness.
God as a Father disciplines His children, but not with sickness, accidents or diseases.
When such terrible things happen, it is caused by Satan, but there is an allowing (done by God).
God didn’t have no choice but to allow Satan to attack Job.
No, God chose to allow it so that the root of self-righteousness in Job would be brought up.

We have an Advocate Who is a Man sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven — the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is the go-between, our Interceder, that Job never had.
Thanks to Jesus, the sufferings of Job will not happen to us today.

In the Epistle to the Hebrews, it says that Jesus took His blood and sprinkled it in heaven.
He sprinkled it upon where Adam’s place was.
The devil could stand in that place previously because Adam obeyed Satan and sinned, and his position of rulership over the earth was given to Satan.
The devil has no more access to heaven today. That place has been cleansed and reclaimed by the blood of Jesus!

Job lost all of his great possessions and beloved children in one day. Then Job was covered with boils from the feet to the head.
On the other hand, healing happens from the head to the feet.
Sickness is from hell and healing is from heaven.

There are no hospitals or crisis calls in heaven.
Typhoons are not acts of God. They are acts of the devil.
The devil wants to confuse us into thinking that God deals with us by killing us.

James 5:11 - Your Heavenly Father is very compassionate and merciful.
Under the Law when Israel kept on sinning, God stepped back and nations came in to harass Israel.
God did not send the enemy nations — He removed His own protection.

“Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.” (James 5:11 WEB)

Job 4:7-9 - Eliphaz argues from experience. Experience is not the truth.
There is only one thing that gives you truth: the Bible.
Eliphaz is essentially kicking Job while he’s down.

““Remember, now, whoever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off? According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity, and sow trouble, reap the same. By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they consumed.” (Job 4:7-9 WEB)

Job 8:8-13 - Bildad speaks based on tradition.
With friends like these, you don’t need the devil. It’s almost like the devil is talking through their mouths.

““Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers. (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.) Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart? “Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water? While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed. So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man shall perish,” (Job 8:8-13 WEB)

Job 11:13-17 - Zophar argues from legality.
People like Zophar always condemn people for their sins, but when they go through suffering, it’s suddenly not because of their sins. It’s always other people’s fault.
What Zophar says is true, but it’s wrongly applied to Job.
When you apply passages of Scripture wrongly to someone, you increase their misery.
The number 42 represents completion. Job’s trials end in chapter 42.
Jesus’ generation is the 42nd generation.

““If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him. If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents. Surely then you shall lift up your face without spot; Yes, you shall be steadfast, and shall not fear: for you shall forget your misery. You shall remember it like waters that have passed away. Life shall be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it shall be as the morning.” (Job 11:13-17 WEB)

Job 29 - Eliphaz (argues from experience), Bildad (argues from tradition) and Zophar (argues from legality) represents the three types of wrong preaching that are still occurring in the pulpits today.
When you try to convict people with experience, tradition and legality, you get the opposite of the intended result.
Never has a man spoken and defended himself more than Job in this chapter.
Job referred to himself more than 40 times and only referred to God 5 times.
It’s true that Job did all those good things, but he started to value his good works more than God.
Many people only want to serve as benefactor or as patron. They want to be recognized for their service.
Don’t kill each other through tradition.

Job 16:1-4 - Do you have friends who do the work of the devil by being miserable comforters to you?
Job’s friends were true-hearted friends and spoke the truth, but they applied them wrongly to Job.
Truth applied out of its season is like a heresy.

“Then Job answered, “I have heard many such things. You are all miserable comforters! Shall vain words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer? I also could speak as you do. If your soul were in my soul’s place, I could join words together against you, and shake my head at you,” (Job 16:1-4 WEB)

Quickly submit to God and your trials will end

Job 19:1-6 - God was not Job’s problem. Satan was.
Why would we rather blame God than blame ourselves?
In David’s sufferings, he didn’t blame God. He justified God and said that God can do no wrong.
At many funerals, Job’s words are quoted by pastors who conduct the service: “God gives and God takes away.”
No, God gave blessings to Job but God did not take them from him. It was the devil who took them.

“Then Job answered, “How long will you torment me, and crush me with words? You have reproached me ten times. You aren’t ashamed that you attack me. If it is true that I have erred, my error remains with myself. If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach; know now that God has subverted me, and has surrounded me with his net.” (Job 19:1-6 WEB)

Job 32:4-9 - Elihu was a young prophet. He didn’t speak initially because Job’s other friends were older than Elihu — he respected their seniority.
But when there were no good answers from the other friends, Elihu spoke up.

“Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job, because they were elder than he. When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled. Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered, “I am young, and you are very old; Therefore I held back, and didn’t dare show you my opinion. I said, ‘Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.’ But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding. It is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice.” (Job 32:4-9 WEB)

Job 33:19-25 - If you’re sick, know that it’s not God’s will.
Preachers need to show believers their uprightness (righteousness) in Jesus.
The word “ransom” in Hebrew means “atonement”. God has found a ransom: Jesus paid the price for your good blessings.

““Man is also chastened with pain on his bed, And with strong pain in many of his bones, So that his life abhors bread, And his soul succulent food. His flesh wastes away from sight, And his bones stick out which once were not seen. Yes, his soul draws near the Pit, And his life to the executioners. “If there is a messenger for him, A mediator, one among a thousand, To show man His uprightness, Then He is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the Pit; I have found a ransom’; His flesh shall be young like a child’s, He shall return to the days of his youth.” (Job 33:19-25 NKJV)

Job 38:1-5 - God argued based on the sublimity and grandeur of His creation. Who can be like God? His loving compassions and mercy fail not.

“Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind, “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me! “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding. Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it?” (Job 38:1-5 WEB)

Don’t justify yourself and blame God. Don’t justify yourself and say that the Bible is wrong.
The Bible will outlast you. Everybody will breathe their last if Jesus tarries.

The Leviathan and Behemoth in the Book of Job are pictures of the devil.
You are no match for the devil if you try to earn your own righteousness.
But through Jesus, you can overcome the devil.

Satan thought he could threaten and destroy Job. Satan thought he was dealing with a saint, but the mighty God always shows up.

Job 42:1-6 - Learn to agree with what God says and you’ll be blessed beyond your wildest dreams.
If you stand before God with Jesus as your Justifier, you will never be lost.
Church size is not the most important: The menorah (lampstand) has no measurements of how big it is — only how heavy it is.
It’s not about the size of your ministry — it’s about its impact and whether it’s really fulfilling God’s will.
God can take your success, your company and your ministry back if you’re lifted up in pride (thinking that you’re a self-made man), but He won’t take your life.

“Then Job answered Yahweh, “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained. You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ therefore I have uttered that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I didn’t know. You said, ‘Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.’ I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you. Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”” (Job 42:1-6 WEB)

Job 42:7-10 - The Lord turns your captivity when you pray for others. Pray for your friends.

“It was so, that after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has. Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.” So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did what Yahweh commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job. Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.” (Job 42:7-10 WEB)

Job 42:12-13 - Job received double for his trouble.
God restored Job in both quality and quantity.
Job’s livestock doubled in quantity.
Job had more daughters previously, but these three new daughters were the most beautiful in the land (quality).

“So Yahweh blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys. He had also seven sons and three daughters.”(Job 42:12-13 WEB)

Job 42:15-17 - God blesses you with beauty. It’s proven all over the Bible.
There is a beauty that is natural (based on your DNA), but for such people, sometimes you spend time with them and they feel like an unattractive, empty shell.
On the other hand, people who are full of Jesus have an attractiveness and beauty.

“In all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, to four generations. So Job died, being old and full of days.” (Job 42:15-17 WEB)

Some trials are allowed to happen in our lives to manifest our self-righteousness so it can be dealt with.
If you’re going through a trial today, why don’t you just jump straight to chapter 42 and just agree with God and submit to Him by the power of the Holy Spirit?
Then your trial will end and not drag on — Hallelujah!

Deep Revelations of Jesus from the Cherubim of the Bible
The Gospel of Matthew is the face of a lion - representing Jesus as King. The Gospel of Luke is the face of a man - representing Jesus as Man. The Gospel of John is the face of an eagle - representing Jesus as God. The Gospel of Mark is the face of an ox - representing Jesus as Servant.

Hi dear reader,

A cherub is a type of powerful angel. Cherubim is the plural for it, and cherubim were stationed at the east of the Garden of Eden to prevent man from accessing the tree of life, after Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

“And each one had four faces: the first face was the face of the cherub, the second the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. Then the cherubim rose upward. They are the [same four] living beings [regarded as one] that I saw by the River Chebar [in Babylonia].” (EZEKIEL 10:14-15 AMP)

What exactly does the “face of the cherub” look like as mentioned in the passage?

Knowing this truth will help you understand the true nature and essence of a cherub.

The prophet Ezekiel wrote that these four cherubim in the passage are the same ones that he saw by the River Chebar. He described them here:

“Regarding the form and appearance of their faces: they [each] had the face of a man [in front], and each had the face of a lion on the right side, and the face of an ox on the left side; all four also had the face of an eagle [at the back of their heads].” (EZEKIEL 1:10 AMP)

Notice that this time it says “face of an ox” instead of “face of the cherub”?
The other three faces tally in both accounts.

So why is the face of the cherub equated with the face of an ox?
I was confused by this for a while, until I meditated on it and the Holy Spirit dropped the answer into my spirit.

The true essence of angels

Regarding the four gospels, we know that each one is represented by a face as well:

The Gospel of Matthew is the face of a lion - representing Jesus as King.
The Gospel of Luke is the face of a man - representing Jesus as Man.
The Gospel of John is the face of an eagle - representing Jesus as God.
The Gospel of Mark is the face of an ox - representing Jesus as Servant.

That final face is where the answer lies... The face of an ox represents a servant. That is exactly what a cherub is:

“Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? [Of course they are!]” (HEBREWS 1:14 AMP)

All angels are servants of God, tasked to minister to us who will receive salvation.
Thus, the face of an ox perfectly depicts what the cherub is: a servant.

They are not kings, men or gods, hence the other three faces (lion, man, eagle) don’t portray their identity as well as the face of an ox does.

We musn't worship nor pray to angels. The Apostle Paul warned against it, and an angel in John's revelation also told him not to worship him.

"Let no one defraud you of your prize [your freedom in Christ and your salvation] by insisting on mock humility and the worship of angels, going into detail about visions [he claims] he has seen [to justify his authority], puffed up [in conceit] by his unspiritual mind," (Colossians 2:18 AMP)

"I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. But he said to me, “Do not do that. I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets and with those who heed and remember [the truths contained in] the words of this book. Worship God.” (Revelation 22:8-9 AMP)

Meditate on this:

“For He will command His angels in regard to you, To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. They will lift you up in their hands, So that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone.” (PSALM 91:11-12 AMP)

The angels are always ministering to you under God’s command.
Be conscious of how protected you are, for you are not left alone to fend for yourself in this world.

It reminds me of one time when the enemies were sent to seize the prophet Elisha:

“Now the heart of the king of Aram (Syria) was enraged over this thing. He called his servants and said to them, “Will you not tell me which of us is helping the king of Israel?” One of his servants said, “None [of us is helping him], my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” So he said, “Go and see where he is, so that I may send [men] and seize him.” And he was told, “He is in Dothan.” So he sent horses and chariots and a powerful army there. They came by night and surrounded the city. The servant of the man of God got up early and went out, and behold, there was an army with horses and chariots encircling the city. Elisha’s servant said to him, “Oh no, my master! What are we to do?” Elisha answered, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “LORD, please, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servants eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha. When the Arameans came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, “Please strike this people (nation) with blindness.” And God struck them with blindness, in accordance with Elisha’s request.” (2 KINGS 6:11-18 AMP)

Like Elisha’s servant, our eyes of spiritual discernment aren’t always opened, or else we would probably freak out at the battles between angels and demons going on all around us.

But the truth remains that God’s powerful servants are at work for you, protecting you from dangers that you don’t even know about.

There are more for you than against you, and if God is for you, who dares to be against you? Hallelujah!

There will be a repeated, alternating pattern for the decorations in the future temple: cherubim with two faces showing and palm trees. God does not choose decorations for His eternal house randomly. There is a deep significance to these decorations.

The Meaning of the Lion, Man and Palm Tree Decorations in the Eternal Temple

Now that we know more about angels and specifically cherubim, let us go deeper in our study.

In the Bible, there four temples built for God mentioned that I know of: 1) the portable Tabernacle after the children of Israel’s exodus from Egypt, 2) the First Temple built by Solomon, 3) the Second Temple referred to as "Herod's Temple" during Jesus’ time on earth, and 4) a future Temple/House of God which will be in the New Jerusalem on the new earth.

“It was carved with [figures of] cherubim and palm trees; so that a palm decoration was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces, so that the face of a man was toward the palm decoration on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm decoration on the other side. It was carved [this way] on the entire house (temple) all around. From the floor to [the space] above the entrance cherubim and palm decorations were carved, and also on the wall of the nave [the Holy Place].” (EZEKIEL 41:18-20 AMP)

For this study, we will focus on the future temple, which will be God’s eternal dwelling place - He will live together with us on the new earth.

In the passage above, it mentions a repeated, alternating pattern for the decorations in the future temple: cherubim with two faces showing and palm trees.

God does not choose decorations for His eternal house randomly. There is a deep significance to these decorations.

We have established earlier in this post that cherubim are angels that have four faces, and each face represents an aspect of Jesus (scroll up and read again if you forgot).

So why did God choose to have only the faces of man and lion to show up in the decorations in His future dwelling place?

That’s because at that time, all those on earth dwelling with Him will be the righteous ones in their glorified spiritual bodies, never to experience sickness, death, poverty or any symptoms of the curse.

They won’t need Jesus to be their Servant as they will be already perfected by God - having no flaw, with nothing to fix or mend.
This makes the face of an ox unnecessary.

Secondly, God the Father and Jesus will be dwelling with us forever on the new earth.
Things won’t be like they are now, where God is up in heaven and we are down on earth.
This makes the face of an eagle unnecessary.

So the two faces that remain, the man and the lion, are the important truths that will last forever:
Jesus will forever be a Man and He will forever be our King. Hallelujah!

Then what about the palm tree decorations?

When Jesus was on earth, there was a day where the people honored Him as King with branches of palm trees as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey:

“The next day, when the large crowd who had come to the Passover feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, they took branches of palm trees [in homage to Him as King] and went out to meet Him, and they began shouting and kept shouting “Hosanna! BLESSED (celebrated, praised) IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel!” And Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; just as it is written [in Scripture], “DO NOT FEAR, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY’S COLT.” His disciples did not understand [the meaning of] these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified and exalted, they remembered that these things had been written about Him and had been done to Him.” (JOHN 12:12-16 AMP)

We will worship Jesus as King with branches of palm trees again after the Rapture, when we stand before Him in heaven:

“After these things I..

Book Review of Innocence Denied by Mike Garrett - A Touching Christian Romance Novel

Innocence Denied is a beautiful story of romance which caused me to choke up with tears. The ending is simply perfect and genius, and leaves me with a wonderful feeling of completion. I feel emotionally-investing in the success of the main protagonists which I endearingly call “Derrissa”.

The characters grew and bonded very masterfully through realistic day-to-day interactions. Crucial knowledge was well hidden until the latter half of the novel. The Biblical and faith elements of the novel are very tastefully weaved in as well, which I feel will not turn an unbeliever off from reading it. I pray that Innocence Denied will reach those that are meant to be touched by this precious story of love.

If I can offer any suggestions for improvement, it would be to see more action sequences such as the antagonists hunting down the protagonists and having their evil plans rebound on themselves. The antagonists’ presence is hardly felt in the story. As a result, I don’t really feel the peril that Larissa is in — it feels like Derrissa are in their little bubble world where no one else exists to harm them. I would be keen to read a sequel about what Larissa chooses to do after the ending of the novel. It will be interesting to see her find another man she can help who reminds her of her former self, to ‘pay-forward’ the help that Derrick had given to her.

Read on to read my interview with Mike Garrett, the author of this Christian romance novel.

Innocence Denied by Mike Garrett is a beautiful Christian romance novel that will leave you tearfully hopeful!

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers!

First, let me thank you, Milton, for allowing me to appear on your amazing blog. I'm honored to be introduced to your readers.

I'm a devout Christian and life-long resident of Alabama in the USA. My world revolves around God, my wife Sharon, two adult children, five grandchildren, and one granddog.
I'm a previously published author and have served as an Editorial Associate for the Writer’s Digest School and have taught writing workshops at colleges and universities across the nation.
Innocence Denied is my first Christian novel and is being pitched to the Lifetime and Hallmark Channels as a TV movie. I believe Christian fiction can serve as modern day parables, teaching biblical wisdom as Jesus once did.

I'm currently an independent book/novel editor helping new authors improve their manuscripts for a greater chance of acceptance by publishers. My editing website is  www.manuscriptcritique.com

2. What inspired you to write Innocence Denied?

Innocence Denied actually began as an idea for a secular novel many years ago. What if someone falsely accused of murder skips bail and flees prosecution to start all over with a new life? For some reason I could never get motivated enough to actually write it. I knew essentially who my characters were but wasn’t sure what their purpose of interaction would be.

Everything changed at a church service a couple of years ago when the message urged serving God with our spiritual gifts. Our Father has blessed me with the knowledge to be successful in a career that I love, and I immediately felt compelled to write something to honor Him.

I immediately knew that the focus of my secular idea could easily be changed. A Christian man and an unbelieving woman would be thrown together under extraordinary circumstances, never to be the same again.

With God’s help along the way, I put together what I consider to be a page turner—I wanted to make it difficult for the reader to find a place to stop, and the results have been high praise from reviewers. This was a writing experience unlike any other for me.

3. Did you face any challenges while writing this novel and how did you overcome them?

I've been focused on book editing since my secular novel was published decades ago and have done little writing of my own since. Facing the challenge of another novel after all these years was daunting at first, but I felt the presence of God leading me along the way. In fact, He was so influential in the process that I feel guilty taking any credit for the novel. I felt like I was a keyboard, but God was doing the typing. He made the experience far easier than I ever expected.

The biggest challenge overall, however, was finding a publisher. I originally wrote Innocence Denied for self-publication because I knowingly broke many of the "rules" that traditional publishers have, some of them for good reason, but I knew that I faced automatic rejection for having done so. Regardless, I wanted to tell the story as it's told, and despite the odds being against me to find a traditional publisher, God led me to CrossLink. Without their willingness to take a chance on this story Innocence Denied would have been limited to an audience of only a few.

4. I read that you were Stephen King’s first-ever book editor! Could you share a bit about that experience?

Actually, as Stephen King relates in his non-fiction book "On Writing," I was editor and publisher of his novella "I Was a Teenage Grave Robber." He thinks I changed its title, but I didn't. His talent was incredible even in those early days. This was long before computers, and Steve's typewriter had a broken "o" key. Instead of typing an "o" in a word, he had to use a zero, "0", as in "n0vella."

I grew up as a huge horror fan but lost interest in it as I became a stronger person of faith.

5. What are some of the biggest writing tips that you can give to aspiring novelists?

It seems difficult for new authors to understand their role in the publishing industry. Writing is an art, but publishing is a business. Publishers are not in business to produce great literature; they exist to sell books regardless of their quality. Take, for instance, the enormous success of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" books. Are they quality literature? Not by a long shot. The publisher knew that they would sell regardless of numerous shortcomings. Publishers will evaluate your submissions more from a business perspective than an artistic one. Keep in mind that, if you want to be published, you must focus on publisher needs as much as your own.

6. Why should someone read “Innocence Denied”?

It’s an unusual story that defies categorization. It poses such questions as, what would you do if you faced life in prison for something you didn’t do? How will you walk with Jesus at the end of your life? In your greatest time of need, where will your focus lie? It also explores love--how easily and quickly it can be to fall in love, but falling out of love takes time. Also, no matter how devout Christians may be, they all have weaknesses and must battle temptation.

Devotion is a key element of the book also--Derrick's devotion to God, first and foremost, but also his devotion to Larissa, someone he has known for only a short period of time but has grown to love as directed by the second commandment, love others as you love yourself.

Hopefully readers will grow in faith as a result of reading Innocence Denied. I actually learned a lot from Derrick myself. Not long after finishing the novel I faced a serious health crisis of my own. With Derrick as inspiration for facing the end, I maintained a strong spiritual balance all the way through until God blessed me with a much better diagnosis. Perhaps that was one of His reasons for me to write the novel, this one purely from a personal level.

Where can readers purchase “Innocence Denied”?

It's available online at:

Barnes & Noble

Target

And of course Amazon

Thanks again, Milton, for allowing me to inform your readers about Innocence Denied. To all of you readers I'd like to relay Derrick's belief that, regardless of your circumstances, there is always hope. Have a blessed life!

10 March 2019 - Experience the Lavish Love of God - Reverend Col Stringer Sermon Notes - New Creation Church Sermon Notes

Praise and Worship songs performed:
  1. Living Hope - Bethel Worship
  2. Wonderful (Grace Made Real) - New Creation Worship
  3. I Will Cast All My Cares Upon You
  4. Praise the Lord for He is Good - New Creation Worship
  5. What a Beautiful Name - Hillsong Worship

John 13:34-35 - The night before Jesus’ crucifixion, Jesus told His disciples something important.
If you have one last chance to speak to your disciples, won’t you say the most important things?
He told them to love one another just as He had loved them.
Many Christians have head knowledge about God’s love but have never actually experienced God’s love.
Religion teaches conditional love — only if we obey then God will love us. This is not the truth.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”” (John 13:34-35 WEB)

1 John 4:7-8, 16-19 - God doesn’t just have love. God IS love.
In this passage, the Apostle John is not trying to make us feel guilty, but is endeavoring to take us deeper in experiencing God’s love.
A pastor can be teaching God’s word and not have a heart revelation of God’s love. It doesn’t mean that he’s not saved.
We need a personal relationship with God.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God. He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love... We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:7-8, 16-19 WEB)

Ephesians 3:13-19 - There is nothing more powerful on earth than experiencing God’s love.
There is no deeper revelation than His unconditional (in Greek: agape) love.
Bad things are happening around the world but it’s not God who is doing it.
God is dealing with issues of the heart, not the head.
You’re easier to live with when you’re close to God because He transforms you from inside out.
You can’t force people to fall in love. People need to experience the love of God.
We need to be rooted and grounded in God’s love.

“Therefore I ask that you may not lose heart at my troubles for you, which are your glory. For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:13-19 WEB)

I Corinthians 12:1, 31 - Use the spiritual gifts out of the motivation of love.
You can’t earn these gifts - they are given by the Holy Spirit as gifts of Grace.
Some ministers who have gifts use their gifts but they don’t even like people.

“Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant... But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.” (1 Corinthians 12:1, 31 WEB)

I Corinthians 13:1-8 - Love is the only thing in this day and age that is fail-proof.
There is nothing deeper than God’s love.

“If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing. If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing. Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.” (1 Corinthians 13:1-8 WEB)
We can’t give what we don’t possess. We need to experience God’s love.  We can’t walk in love in the natural. It takes a revelation of God’s love.

There is nothing more profound or powerful than God's love!

John 15:13 - There is no greater demonstration of love than willingly dying for your friends. Jesus did that for us.

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13 WEB)

I John 3:1 - In the New International Version (NIV) it says God has “lavished” His love upon us.
God’s love is extravagant and generous. We need to meditate on God’s love for us.
How can we be fearful, worried or stressed out if all this is true?
The only name of God that Jesus ever used is “Father” (in Aramaic, “Abba”, which means “Daddy”).
He has a relationship with God the Father.
Experiencing God’s love will take away the fear of death. You’ll look forward to seeing God face-to-face.

“See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.” (1 John 3:1 WEB)

When you accept Jesus as your Lord, you come under the New Covenant of Grace.
The Old Covenant of Law is for spiritually-dead people, not us.

We can’t give what we don’t possess. We need to experience God’s love.
We can’t walk in love in the natural. It takes a revelation of God’s love.

Romans 5:5 - God’s love has already been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

“and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5 WEB)

In Jesus’ parable of the Prodigal Son, the father lavished his unconditional love upon his younger son.

At church, focus on the message and receive God’s lavish love for you.
It’s not the time to fall asleep or text people on your phone. Worship God!

John 17:23 - Jesus prayed for the Father to love us just as He loves Jesus.

“I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me.” (John 17:23 WEB)

Jude 1:21 - Keep yourself in God’s love. Now we can get a glimpse of God’s love — imagine how awesome it will be meeting God face-to-face.

“Keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.” (Jude 1:21 WEB)

Put your hand on your heart and say this: “I thank you Lord, that God’s Love has been poured out into my heart through the Holy Spirit, and I can share this love with a dying, desperate world.”

Testimonial about Milton's sermon notes:

"Milton Goh my brother, your insight on Grace has set me free from 20 yrs of addiction. I was a 7 time felon but by the GRACE of God I am now an ordained minister. Here is some of my story: I was saved in Dec 2016 and started evangelizing in July of 2017 as soon as I was released. My ministry has led over 800 to Jesus. I go to jails, rehabs, homeless shelters plus numerous churches! Your notes and sermons allowed me to find rest in Jesus. I was getting tired trying to perform what I thought God needed from me. You have made me realize it's 100% the CROSS and now I go constantly for Jesus but never get tired. Thanks for your wisdom and love for Jesus. May God bless you and your family!"

"Hi Milton, just finished reading your book. Truly awe-inspiring! The Holy Spirit is all over this.

"Hi Milton, just finished reading your book. Truly awe-inspiring! The Holy Spirit is all over this. I say this because I only ever listen to teachings from a few ministers, but I kept being drawn to this teaching. After many distractions, I eventually got around to actually watching your video.

Feeling Sad - 5 Happy Cures for a Depressed Heart

It’s easy to fall into a downward spiral of sadness. I’ve been there.
When you allow yourself to sink deeper into the negative emotions and let it fester in your heart, it’s difficult to pull yourself out.

World Health Organisation (WHO) reports that more than 300 million people worldwide have depression.

The Bible says that laughter and a merry heart does good like medicine. Choosing to be in a state of happiness when you're feeling sad is actually good for your health!

Thankfully, there are many ways that the Bible teaches us to guard the joy and happiness in our hearts. In this post, we’ll look at 5.

Dear Abba Father, I have been feeling sad for far too long. I cast all my cares and burdens into Jesus’ hands. Father, help me through the Holy Spirit to focus on good things that produce happiness and joy in my heart.

1) Rejoice that you know Jesus

I firmly believe that this is the most important thing in life: to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Jesus said what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? That’s so true because the things of this world are temporary, but what happens after death is eternal.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.” (Romans 8:18 WEB)

Even if there are many temporal problems in your life right now, you can still rejoice that you are saved, that you are a child of God and that God loves you and is infinitely pleased with you because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross.

God is definitely not behind your problems or sadness. There is an enemy out there in the world that hates us -- his name is Satan which means "the accuser".

"God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them." (Genesis 1:27 WEB)

Satan is a fallen archangel who hates humans with an intense jealousy. Angels were created before man. Satan is probably the most powerful created being after God.
At that time, he served God in heaven, but probably got jealous when man was given the honor to be made in Gods's own image.
After observing man, he likely thought, "They are so weak -- not even close to my greatness and power. What right do they have to be made in God's image. I think that God has made a mistake. I will be a better God than Him and right this wrong."

Lucifer formed a coup to rebel against God, lost the war in heaven, and was cast out from heaven along with one-third of all created angels (who joined in his rebellion).
Since then, they became fallen angels, also known as "demons".
Satan has since spent every waking moment plotting and attacking humans who are all made in God's image.

One of the devil's greatest accomplishments is to make the world think that he doesn't exist, and that God is the One who is evil and behind all of the world's problems.
No, Satan is the one afflicting people with sadness and depression. God is not the tormentor -- He is the One who self-sacrificially and lovingly provided the solution to your problems.
Jesus' death at the cross redeemed you from every sadness -- He was allowed to be tortured, humiliated and abandoned to the point of anguish in His soul, so that you would not have to feel sad today.

2) Rejoice in the restoration that’s coming

Did you know that you qualify for restoration of everything that the Devil has stolen from you?
As Pastor Joseph Prince taught in his sermons, the shed blood of Jesus — your perfect trespass Offering, has qualified you to receive at least 120% restoration for your losses.
This is the true principal of the Law of the Trespass Offering.

““If anyone sins, and commits a trespass against Yahweh, and deals falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or has oppressed his neighbor, or has found that which was lost, and dealt falsely therein, and swearing to a lie; in any of these things that a man does, sinning therein; then it shall be, if he has sinned, and is guilty, he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he has gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found, or any thing about which he has sworn falsely; he shall restore it even in full, and shall add a fifth part more to it. To him to whom it belongs he shall give it, in the day of his being found guilty. He shall bring his trespass offering to Yahweh, a ram without defect from the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest. The priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh, and he will be forgiven concerning whatever he does to become guilty.”” (Leviticus 6:2-7 WEB)

When God restores something, it will always become better in quality, quantity or both.
When Jacob was cheated in his salary by Laban, he was restored with all of Laban’s flocks.
When Satan killed Job’s daughters, Job was restored with three daughters who were the most beautiful in the land.

“You allowed men to ride over our heads. We went through fire and through water, but you brought us to the place of abundance.” (Psalms 66:12 WEB)

Every time you face a trial, you can shout hurray because you’re going to come out of it a gainer. You’ll emerge to an abundant place.
If you’ve lost health, you’ll be brimming with more health. If you’ve lost money, you’ll be overflowing with more provision.

The devil may attack you and seem to be gaining the upper hand, but the ultimate winner is always God and His people.

“The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10 WEB)

Don’t just take my word for it — read the whole of “Revelation”, the last book of the Bible. We eventually win. When God is for you, who or what can ever hope to be against you?

3) Change your spoken words to produce happiness and not feelings of sadness

“I always feel like crap.”

“My life sucks. Will I never be happy?”

These are declarations that don’t serve you in any way. In fact, you’re sabotaging your future by sowing these kind of “seeds” into your heart.
Jesus taught that words are seeds in His “Parable of the Seed and the Sower”.

“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” (Luke 8:11 WEB)

Every seed sown will reap a harvest if it is nourished with patience and faith.

“that you won’t be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherited the promises.” (Hebrews 6:12 WEB)

So many of us are reaping a harvest of feeling sad and being depressed because we’re so proficient at constantly worrying and being afraid of the terrible things that are happening.

The Book of Proverbs teaches us that our spoken words have power to produce a harvest of life or death in our daily situations.

“A man’s stomach is filled with the fruit of his mouth. With the harvest of his lips he is satisfied. Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:20-21 WEB)

The sinful flesh in our body has a tendency to speak death, so we must train it to speak life through the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us.

Throughout the day, catch yourself as you speak words of death, and consciously reverse them to produce life instead.
You can reject your death-programming words in Jesus’ name and declare life and happiness instead. For example:

“I'm feeling sad again. Why must bad things keep happening to me? Oh wait, I reject that in Jesus’ name and I declare that good things keep on happening to me. God loves me and is for me!”

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:” (1 Peter 2:9 WEB)

You have been given powerful authority in your words because you became a royal priest in Christ the moment you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

4) Consciously choose to focus on whatever is good

“Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!” Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:4-8 WEB)

Bad news surrounds us every day if you’re looking out for it.

The opposite is equally true. If your heart is focusing on looking for good things, it will notice more of it.

The Apostle Paul did not tell believers to think about good things just to feel better or comforted.
What we focus and meditate on increases in our life.
He is teaching us how to multiply God’s goodness and blessings in our lives.

Can you praise Jesus right now because you are still alive, you have a place to stay, food to eat, a family, a job, etc?

There’s always something to be thankful about. Shift your complaining to thanksgiving and see what the Lord can do in your life.

When Jesus multiplied the loaves and the fish for the multitudes, He gave thanks to God the Father for the little that He had — It ended..

Being Bullied? Here’s How to Overcome It

I was a victim of bullying in school. I admittedly had character flaws, and I struggled trying to fit in, to belong and be significant — stemming from my insecurities. At that time, I wasn’t a Christian yet.

Evil rumors had spread about me, saying that I was smoking, taking drugs, committing sexual immorality, etc. I was shocked to hear them — they were so absurd.
When I entered a room, I could sense that everyone stopped talking like they were just talking bad about me. It was a dark time and I felt so alone.

Even today, I still get bullied, receiving hate mail from some self-righteous, unhappy people after they read my blog who want to strong-arm me into stopping what I’m doing.
Why would I stop? It’s my calling and ministry that the Holy Spirit is leading me in.
Without Him, none of this would be possible. He has given so much Grace and wisdom that it’s astounding.

Bullying is a real problem and it’s demonic.
When another person or group of people think that you are weaker and behave wickedly against you with evil intentions to harm you, that’s bullying.

Today I’m no longer affected by the bullies because I have grown in Christ. If you are facing bullying at home, at work, among your peers, at school, or even at church (God forbid), I want to encourage you and give you some practical keys to overcome the bullies.

God’s word teaches us not to seek to avenge ourselves, but to give place to God to avenge us. He is our Avenger and Defender. When we don’t try to fix a problem by ourselves, He steps in to help us with it. God said “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” You can be assured that God is a God of justice and He’s on your side.

1. Don’t seek revenge.

“They will all pay, just they wait and see what I’ll do to them.” Don’t think such thoughts.

“Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:17-21 WEB)

As long as you don’t try to go vigilante on your enemies, He will ensure that they face the consequences for their actions.
Whoever touches you has just touched the apple of God’s eye, and He fiercely guards you as His most prized treasure.

God’s word also teaches us not to gloat when our enemies face their consequences, if not God will restrain His hand and they will stop getting their just desserts.

Want to go one step further as a doer of God’s word? The Bible tells us to pray for our enemies — to bless them and not to curse them.
Bless those who harmed you. God will surely reward you abundantly for your faith.
Remember: you’re not doing it for their sake. You’re forgiving them for your own sake and for the Lord.
Unforgiveness is a bitter toxin and it is also the devil’s trap.
Keeping it in your heart is poisoning your body, soul and life.

Cast your burden to the Lord, and forgive your enemies just as the God has abundantly forgiven you through Jesus’ finished work.
Nothing the bullies do or say to you can ever outweigh the sin debt that Jesus paid in your place.

Since you have received such a great and overwhelming gift of forgiveness, the only right response of thankfulness is to freely and abundantly forgive others.
Like Jesus said, forgive someone who has done wrong to you up to seventy times seven times — as much as needed.
If they harm you, turn the other cheek. Don’t strike back.

2. Overcome evil with good.

The Apostle Paul taught us to overcome evil with good.
The Bible says what merit to us is it if we are only good to those who are good to us? Doesn’t the world also practice that?
We can imitate our Heavenly Father who is kind to both the righteous and the wicked.
He gives good gifts even to those who slander His name. He is patient and long-suffering despite their ungratefulness.
The devil’s trick is that he wants to pull us down to our enemy’s level. He wants us to fight evil with evil, but once we do that, he’s got us right where he wants us — in the domain of darkness and sin.

If you are wise, you will be even nicer to those who are evil to you.
When the devil sees you doing more good when evil increases against you, he will think twice about sending people to persecute you.
Firstly because you’re showing those bullies a living testimony of the power and love of God.
Secondly because you’re turning your enemies into friends.
The devil will leave you alone when he sees that attacking you is counterproductive to himself.

The Bible says that when you overcome evil with good, you’re like heaping hot coals (of guilt) upon your enemies’ heads.
Most importantly, it also says that God will reward you.
It doesn’t qualify what type of rewards so feel free to receive both earthly restorations and eternal rewards!

3. Your value and identity is in Jesus Christ

Like I shared at the beginning of this devotional, as an unbeliever I was extremely insecure.
I sought other’s valuation of my own worth and value. That was a pitfall.

As a believer, your identity is in Christ. The opinions of your bullies don’t matter. Only what God says about you is important.
Those bullies couldn’t care less about you, but God loves you with an everlasting love.

Jesus said that God’s word is truth and that His sheep hear His voice. You can choose to believe the truth which is what God says about you instead of the vicious lies that the bullies say about you.

God calls you righteous, holy, loved, blessed, favored, an heir, glorified, honored, and His child, accepted in the Beloved Jesus.
You are all of the above because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross!
The cross changed everything for us and that’s why we worship and praise Jesus forever.

God will honor your faith when you choose to believe Him instead of the world. He will go to work in you and deliver you from all your troubles.

“For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” Thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men indeed swear by a greater one, and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation. In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath; that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil;” (Hebrews 6:13-19 WEB)

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of being rooted in your identity in Christ — you are an heir of the promise. God has promised to bless and multiply you like He did for Abraham!
It is an anchor for your soul (mind, will and emotions), especially amidst the raging storm of persecution and bullying.

It is like holding up the shield of faith that quenches all the fiery darts thrown at you by the people who are instigated by the devil.
The pure water of God’s word extinguishes every flaming lie that the bullies shoot your way.

4. Focus your attention to the people around you who matter.

When Jesus was on His journey to the cross, He was bullied — spat on, slapped, humiliated, His beard was pulled, a crown of thorns was jammed into His head.
Jesus knows what you’re going through. He has endured worse things than you.

Yet He didn’t answer His persecutors who had already condemned Him in their hearts. Jesus only spoke to and sought affirmation from His Heavenly Father at the cross — He knew Whose opinion mattered the most.
Not the chief priests, not the scribes, not the Pharisees, not Pilate, not the soldiers, not the multitudes — only His Father in heaven.

Jesus did answer those who were open-hearted and keen to know His true identity.
It’s only human to focus on the bullying and forget about all the people that still support and love you in your life.
They are the ones you should be giving your attention and focus, not the bullies.
When was the last time you showed and expressed appreciation and love towards those who care about you?
Even in your trial, you can still count your blessings. Don’t take what and who you already have for granted.

5. Begin to praise and thank God now.

You may feel like the cords of death have wrapped around your neck and that death lies at the door.
The negativity spewing towards you may be suffocating and unbearable.

Yet no one can steal your joy if you don’t allow it. The Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength.
It also says that out of the lips of babies God has established strength.

“From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.” (Psalms 8:2 WEB)

Jesus actually quoted this verse. But He replaced the word strength with praise.

“and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Did you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?’”” (Matthew 21:16 WEB)

Did He misquote God’s word? No, don’t forget that He is the original Author of the Scriptures.
He was defining strength as praise. When you praise, you become strong because you become strengthened by God.

Dear brethren, praise gives you strength in the Lord.
If you feel completely weak right now, you can begin to praise the Lord and receive an impartation of His strength — His strength is made perfect in your weakness.

Put on your favorite praise and worship song and just sing your heart out to Him.
As your eyes shift away from the bullying and onto Jesus’ beautiful face, God will go to work and break every demonic power that is behind the bullying and persecution.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.” (Psalms 23:4-5 WEB)

Like Psalm 23 says, God prepares a table for you in the presence of your enemies. While the bullies are still there being mean to you, and you are still in the valley of the shadow of death, you can still praise and worship God for He is good all the time.

You can still rejoice that you have Jesus and that you are saved, and a completely righteous child of God.
There’s much to be thankful for if you just open your eyes to see them.

Just like that, as you are lost in the majesty and glory of Jesus’ face, your enemies will be defeated and scattered. That’s how God is going to lead you through and out of the valley.

Maybe you feel like you’re helplessly up against a powerful army of bullies. That’s what King Jehoshaphat felt too.
However, he responded by trusting in the Lord. He sent a praise and worship team to praise the Lord in the presence of all his enemies, and the Lord wrought a miraculous victory for the king.

“When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to Yahweh, and give praise in holy array, as they go out before the army, and say, “Give thanks to Yahweh; for his loving kindness endures forever.” When they began to sing and to praise, Yahweh set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them: and when they had finished the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy another. When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their plunder, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away. They took plunder for three days, it was so much. On the fourth day, they assembled themselves in Beracah Valley, for there they blessed Yahweh. Therefore the name of that place was called “Beracah Valley” to this day. Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for Yahweh had made them to rejoice over their enemies.” (2 Chronicles 20:21-27 WEB)

Your answer is not to become stronger in the flesh so that you can fight the bullies off.
The solution is to praise God and see how big He is and how tiny the bullies are in comparison.
If God is for you, who or what can ever be against you?

Your heritage in the Lord is that every weapon formed against you will never prosper and every tongue that rises against you will be condemned.

“No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,” says Yahweh.” (Isaiah 54:17 WEB)

If you apply these five keys that I’ve shared and be doers of the word of God, I believe that you, like King Jehoshaphat, will walk out of the bullying victorious and with truckloads of spoils!

Are you being bullied now? Share your story (it helps to talk about it and not bottle your feelings up) and prayer requests in the comments below. I will gladly pray with you and confess victory over you.

I was conflicted between making this message a video or a blog post, and I still settled on writing.
I know very clearly that the Lord has anointed my writing but my preaching I’m not so sure.

I write books, devotionals (more than 220 already), sermons and sermon notes on a freelance basis, all thanks to our patrons on Patreon who help to make it possible.

It’s not fully at the level whereby I am making enough to write full time for the Lord and be able to support my family.

We used to earn a comfortable passive income from doing business but ever since I became a full-time dad and was led to write daily for the Lord, our income has plummeted.
The devil has been really bullying us — killing, stealing and destroying — but I thank Jesus for His restoration, promotion and blessings that’s coming our way.

If you feel led, please partner with my ministry on Patreon and receive valuable rewards of goodwill as our token of appreciation.

I am running a special offer for this new month of March for $20 and above patrons.
I have started a Whatsapp Chat group called "God Every Morning Bible Study" whereby I share my daily takeaways from Bible Study.

We can read the whole Bible together as study mates.
It's sure to be a blessed addition to your life, especially if you're not used to reading God's word on your own -- let's keep each other on track, and encourage each other in the faith.

If you'd like to be added, kindly join as a ministry partner (patron) on Patreon at "God Every Morning" tier or above. Shalom!

P.S. We have already begun with the Gospel of Matthew. The revelations the Holy Spirit have given have been amazing!

Feel free to jump in at any time because you'll be able to access an archive of all the days you have missed so you'll never miss a single chapter.

Yes I want to become a patron now!

How beautiful to find out that actually in the Bible there is both 'Earthly or Worldly Investment Wisdom' and 'Eternal Investment Wisdom' according to the revelations here from Ecclesiastes 5:14-17 WEB)!; “It seems like Solomon was not only wise at earning material riches but also at earning eternal riches.” All the glory to our Lord..

2019年3月3日 - 仰望耶稣,不必忧虑 - 新造教会讲道笔记 New Creation Church Mandarin Sermon Notes
