Hello everyone,

Denise here with my final layout using the beautiful Two Souls Collection

This collection lends itself beautifully to wedding photos, and I happen to have a few that I need to make layouts with ! You can definitely adapt the collection for non wedding photos but I used it for that purpose.

I used a sheet of the script side of Leafy paper as the base of my layout.

Next I took a sheet of Just Married paper, cut down to 11 inches square and this time  I used the Bride and Groom stencil in a slightly different way, I used just the edge of the bride’s dress to ink through around the edges of the layout with some Avocado ink

Then i took some water colour paint from my stash in a green that matched my papers, and added a light wash across the paper.

Once this had dried I adhered it to the base.

I cut  two strips from what was left to approximately 8 inches long then punched along the long edges on one side of each.

On one of the strips I pierced holes and cross stitched down the side with some green thread to add some colour.

once this was done, I used two border stickers from the Sticker Book ,placed them on the left hand side of the layout then tucked my photo inside one of them .

Now, time to use lots of lovely flowers and dies from the Collectables pack and Sticker Book.

I also added some of the lovely Curios, which are my current favourite.

This has again as always been a lovely collection to work with, I hope you have been inspired, and happy crafting !

Hello,

Karen here with my third project using Paisley Days.

For this project I have used Good Vibes, Soul, Gypsy papers, 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Collectables, Blush Pearls, Pearls Black, Deep Gold Rhinestones and Mounting Foam Dots.

I cut a piece of Soul along the ‘zig-zag’ lines.  I then added this to the centre of the Gypsy paper.

I loved the frame effect of the Good Vibes paper and so used a craft knife to cut around the frame and the flowers at the bottom left. and used foam pads to add this to the Gypsy .

I liked the effect so much that I duplicated it using papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.

I added this to the centre of the page. My photo was added behind one of the small Polaroid frames, adding it to the centre of the small frame.

I then embellished another two Polaroid frames adding to the top left and bottom right of the small frame.

Finally I added clusters of Collectables to the top left and bottom right of my large frame and embellished with Blush PearlsPearls Black and Deep Gold Rhinestones.

I absolutely loved using this collection and hope I have inspired you to buy some to play with too.

Karen.

Hello Kaisercraft fans,

Emmy here today sharing my second project for May, featuring Kaisercraft’s Paisley Days collection (available at Merly Impressions’ online store). This time I decided to create a boyish layout to show you just how versatile this collection is.

For my background I used Kaisercard Coal Weave Cardstock and Retro pattern paper. I cut off 0.5cm from each side of the pattern paper, distressed its edges using Paper Distresser and adhered it on top of the cardstock with Kaisercraft 12mm Double-sided Tape.

Using Kaisercraft Collage 6×6 Designer Stencil and Texture Paste I created the white dimensional pattern. Then, I adhered the two black pattern papers from the Paper Pad using Mounting Foam Tape. As a final touch I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – White on top of all layers.

I layered my picture on a slightly larger panel of Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and a glossy pattern paper from the Paper Pad. I adhered it as shown using Mounting Foam Tape

Using Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and Kaisercraft Dimaonds Texture Die I die cut three panels, which I arranged around my picture.

To decorate my page I used pre-cut images from different pattern papers from the Paper Pad and from the Collectables pack. I arranged them around my picture and adhered them with Mounting Foam Tape. For my title I used a cut of stripe from one of the pattern papers. I layered the stripe on top of Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and adhered it under my picture as shown.

As a final touch I added Curios (matching the collection), Epoxy Stickers – Sea Breeze and Rhinestones – Black I hope I managed to inspire you today!

Have a wonderful creative week!

Hi Everyone,
What a fabulous May Crop we had yesterday and thank you so very much to everyone who attended and made the day so very special indeed. There was lots of crafting, chatting and a super afternoon tea, Paul’s homemade bread went down well and It was lovely catching up with everyone.

For the kit I used the beautiful “Paisley Days” Kaisercraft collection. Included in the crop kit were detailed instructions and stash to make two layouts.

Below are photo’s of the layouts I created for the kit. Here is the first layout which I’ve called “Life is full of choices” I focused on using the pink, yellow & white papers for this layout. It features lots of intricate fussy cutting (mainly from the Gypsy, paper) stitching and lots of layers. I have used a black & white photo measuring 12cm wide x 10cm high, a coloured photo would also work.

……and here is the second layout which I’ve called: “Believe in your dreams” – for this layout I have focused on using the beautiful teal/blue tones. I have fussy cut the delicate florals and paisley designs, there is also colour coordinating stitching and I have used the paisley embossing folder behind the photo which measures 10cm wide x 13cm high

The kit is now available to purchase in the Merly Impressions on-line shop – it can be found in the Layout Kits section of the website.

I just want to say a massive thank you!!!! to everyone that attended our May crop which made it such a very special day. We look forward to seeing your finished layouts using my kit over on the Merly Crop Facebook page.

Below are a few photo’s of the day.

You can find details and dates of our future crops here. We look forward to seeing you all in September for the next Merly Crop. This is our crop/kit fb page where I add all the sneak peeks leading up to each crop and you can post your finished crop kit layouts to it or any other Kaiser related projects and general chat. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Merlyretreat/

Many thanks,

Happy scrapping!

Hugs – Chrissy

Hi everyone,

Denise here again with my second layout for this month using the lovely Two Souls collection

I used a sheet of Concrete Kaisercard to start then cut down a sheet of the beautiful lacy Tuxe paper to 11.5 inches square. I distressed all the edges with a paper distresser then adhered it to the base card.

I usually like to choose some papers from the paper pad to mat behind my photo and find some border and ribbon type strips from the back of the paper pad book.

I love to sew on my layouts so, using a sheet of matching paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, took a heart cross stitch template and pierced the holes, then stitched with grey thread.

I layered up the paper pad papers then placed my photo on top layered with foam tape.

There are lots of lovely flowers and sentiments in the Collectables pack so I chose some of those and used to embellish around the layout, together with some items from the Sticker Book

More beautiful additions to the range are these curios, which I love and like to dot them around the page.

Finally I went around the edges of some of the collectables with a silver pen from my stash to highlight them.

Thank you for popping by and happy crafting !

~ Denise ~

Hello,
Karen here with my second layout using the Paisley Days collection.

The items I have used are Snow Weave cardstock, 6.5 x 6.5 paper padCollectablesClear Stamps, Posy mini stencil,  Curios, Ink pads in Sea Breeze, Amber, Cotton Candy and Flamingo, Aquamarine rhinestones and Sunshine epoxy stickers.

I started by using a pokey tool to pierce a 3 x 3 grid onto the smooth side of my Snow Weave cardstock. I taped the Posy mini stencil onto the bottom right square and used  Ink pads in Sea Breeze, AmberCotton Candy and Flamingo  and a cotton bud to colour in the flowers and leaves. I repeated this process on the top left square.

I then stitched the grid .

Once this was finished I decided to rotate my page 90 degrees so that the stencilled square  were at the top right and bottom left corner. I cut four 3.5 in squares of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and added to the centre square  of the top and bottom row and right and left square of the middle row. I filled the remaining three squares with my photos, raising them on foam pads.

I then used another piece of paper from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and the Flower Cluster die to die cut four clusters of flowers which I tucked under the top left and bottom right photo and added to the bottom right corner of my top photo and top left corner of my bottom photo.

I went overboard with the gorgeous Curios, using a whole pack!  These were added in clusters of three to my page along with two stamped butterflies, left over from my previous project.

All that remained was to embellish the squares of paper with pieces from the Collectables pack and 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.  Finishing with the addition of Aquamarine rhinestones and Sunshine epoxy stickers

Hi Everyone,

There is just under a week to go until our May 18th 2019 Merly Crop, so here are the details of the crop and sneak peeks of the layouts that you will be able to create using the kit. For the kit I have used papers from the beautiful Paisley Days Kaisercraft collection.

As well as the papers in the kit there are also three sheets of Kaisercard, DMC thread and rhinestones. Also supplied are detailed instructions with coloured photo’s for you to follow, so you can create the two layouts that I have designed, at your own pace.

Below are some sneak peeks of the first layout which I’ve called “Life is full of choices”

For this layout I have focused on the pink, yellow & white papers. It features lots of very intricate fussy cutting, (mainly from the Gypsy, paper) stitching and lots of layers. I have used a black & white photo measuring 12cm wide x 10cm high, a coloured photo would also work.

Below are some sneak peeks of the second layout which I’ve called “Believe in your dreams”

For this layout I have focused on using the beautiful teal/blue tones. I have fussy cut the delicate florals and paisley designs, there is also colour coordinating stitching and I have used the paisley embossing folder behind the photo which measures 10cm wide x 13cm high.

Other items used on the layouts which you may want to bring are colour coordinating ink pads, I have used the Kaisercraft Saffron mini ink pad & the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze ink pad for inking around the edges. A needle for sewing (if you want to do it) foam pads and a small pair of scissors as there is a lot of fussy cutting on both layouts. We will however have a selection of ink pads & Foam dots/roll, available to purchase in the on site Merly shop.

I have also used the WRMK Sew Easy Tool. A Martha Stewart Edge Punch and the Paisley Embossing folder. We will however bring these items to the crop for people to use and our other usual supply of tools including the Big Shot machine & a small selection of other punches and dies.

The location of the crop, together with other details and future dates can be found on our Crop Dates page. We also have a crop/retreat facebook page, where you can see more sneak peeks of these layouts – and details of up and coming events and where you can also post your finished layouts.

At the crop we will also have our usual FABULOUS Merly Impressions Shop where you can purchase all the latest Kaisercraft goodies, including the new April & May Kaisercraft collections.

Extra kits will also be available to purchase at the crop. Just ask Paul for them. The usual supply of tea, coffee and a selection of biscuits, chocolates, snacks & home made cakes will be available throughout the day. You will need to bring your own lunch and your usual supply of crafting tools. Important: this crop will be an extra long one, we will finish at 6pm, we are bringing a little treat for the afternoon, so please bring a pretty tea cup, saucer & side plate.

See you all on Saturday 18th May 2019 at 10am (not before 9.55 unless you have been asked to help, as we will be very busy getting ready, please wait outside if you do turn up early) – until 6pm.  The cost for the day & kit is £40.00 payable on the day, we take cash and/or cards.

For anyone who can not attend the crop, the kit will be available to purchase the day after the crop over on the website. The cost for this kit is £17.00.

See you all on Saturday 10am.

Happy scrapping, hugs,

Chrissy xXx xXx

Hello Kaisercraft fans,

Emmy here today sharing my newest project – featuring one of my favourite Kaisercraft collections – Paisley Days (available at Merly Impressions’ online store). For my background I used two different pattern papers – Groovy pattern paper and Smiles pattern paper. Using Kaisercraft Lace 6×6 Designer Stencil (absolutely perfect for some shabby chic details on any page) and Texture Paste I created the white dimensional pattern. Then, I cut three pinkish stripes from the Smiles pattern paper, distressed their edges with Paper Distresser and adhered them using Mounting Foam Tape to my background.

Once everything was on its place, I sprinkled KaiserMist Spray Ink – Antique Gold on top of all layers.  I layered my picture on a slightly larger panel from a glossy pattern paper from the Paper Pad and adhered it as shown using Mounting Foam Tape.  To decorate my page I used fussy cut images from different pattern papers from the Paper Pad and pre-cut embellishments from the Collectables pack. I die cut the white bubbles using Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and Decorative Die – Double Bubble. Then I adhered pre-cut sentiments and Curios matching the collection in the middle of the bubbles to complete my design.  For the flower cluster above my picture, I used paper blooms (Paper Blooms – Hot Pink and Paper Blooms – Dusty Pink) and fussy cut flowers from the Gypsy pattern paper. The die cut foliage I made using Kaisercard Snow Weave Cardstock and pattern paper and Foliage Die.

For my title I used a quote from the Daisy Chain pattern paper, which I layered on pattern aper from the Paper PadI adhered it to my background with Mounting Foam Tape

As a final touch I added Pearls – Rose and Rhinestones – Orange

I hope I managed to inspire you today!

Have a wonderful creative week!

Hi everyone,

Denise here with my first layout using the beautiful Two Souls collection.

I wanted to try and keep this layout quite simple and  monochromatic with a splash of green as the papers are so beautiful.

First of all I used a sheet of My Heart paper. I cut the middle out to use later and left a frame of approximately one inch which I adhered on to a piece of Snow Weave card to strengthen it.

I then took a piece of the lovely grey polka dot paper White Rose and cut it down to 11.5 inches square.

With the Bride and Groom Mini Stencil, I applied some glittery texture paste on to the corner of the grey paper.

Next, I pierced around the outside edges of the grey paper then stitched with white thread. Once I had stitched all around, I adhered the grey paper to the white frame.

I drew a circle very lightly on to the grey paper then after placing my black and white photo where I wanted it, I arranged various Collectables around on the circle which were raised up on foam tape.

One of the latest additions to the collections are  the lovely Curios which are really versatile and are very pretty embellishments.

My title was a word from the Collectables which was placed inside the circle just above the photo.

I will be back soon with another project from this collection very soon.

Happy Crafting

~ Denise ~

Hello,

Karen here with my first May project and for this page I have used the very bright and bold Paisley Days collection.

The items I have used are Snow Weave cardstock, Groovy paper (reverse side), Positivity paper, 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad, Collectables, Clear Stamps, Flower Cluster die, Teal PearlsDeep Yellow Rhinestones, KaiserMist in Rose Gold, Kaiser Ink Pads and Kaiserfusion Pens.

I started by gutting a 1.5 inch frame from the Positivity paper.  I then cut 1 inch from the bottom and one side of the Snow Weave cardstock and mounted this on top of the Positivity frame. The next step was to cut 1.5 inches from the bottom and one side of the Groovy paper (reverse side), which was mounted on top of the white card. I also cut a 5in and a 4 in circle from two papers from the 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad and stuck these centrally to my page.

I flicked Rose Gold Kaisermist liberally onto my page.

Next, I die cut six Flower Clusters from white card and arrange them around the 5 inch circle. I stamped one of the flowers from the Clear Stamps six times with black ink and coloured with  Kaiserfusion Pens.

The stamp set has a really fun butterfly which you build up using three stamps in different colours.

I stamped three different colourways of the butterfly, fussy cut and added these, and the flowers to the outside of the circle of die cut Flower Clusters.   I added a 4in x 4in photograph to the centre and embellished the diecuts with Teal Pearls and Deep Yellow Rhinestones.

Finally, I used  Collectables to add my title to the top left of the page and a small cluster to the bottom right.

I hope I have inspired you to buy some of this gorgeous collection to play with and will be back soon with another project using Paisley Days.
