Wylde will stay on the road beyond the Black Label Society dates in 2018 reunited with “the boss” on the “No More Tours 2.” The two-year stretch will take place this spring with dates in Mexico, South America and Europe. The tour’s first U.S. leg, which will feature Stone Sour as the opening group, starts in Allentown, Pennsylvania in August and wraps in Las Vegas in October. Bay area trio BLACK MAP has released a surprise EP today titled Trace The Path via Entertainment One
“We shot this video in the backroom of a bar called Homestead in San Francisco which was first opened all the way back in 1902. 5 years ago, Mark and I were having beers at this very bar and decided that we should start a band together, so this space was kind of the inception of Black Map,” says vocalist and bassist Ben Flannagan. “We thought that it would be fitting to return to that spot and film the video for ‘Let me Out.'”
Trace The Path is available on all streaming platforms and digital outlets starting today.
The new EP serves as the follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed In Droves LP which was released in 2016.
The band also drops a music video for their new track “Let Me Out,”
Black Map - Let Me Out - YouTube
The band is headed out as main support for labelmates POP EVIL on the “2018 Music Over Words Tour” and will do a few dates supporting 10 Years following this run in April. All dates can be found below.
After the release of In Droves, the band went on to play over 100 shows in support. Black Map was used to playing the club scene before but soon found themselves on stage at mainstream American rock festivals. In 2017 the band performed at Chicago Open Air, Aftershock, Rock Allegiance, Louder Than Life and Rise Above festivals. Black Map was also proud to be nominated for “Best New Artist” at the 2017 Loudwire Music Awards.
During their time on the road, the band did not slow down their creative flow. On the bus and in dressing rooms the band hashed out new ideas, riffs, and lyrics that quickly amounted to more than a few completed songs. The band booked some studio time in between festivals with producer Mike Watts in Long Island, NY and got to work while recording one more song with longtime collaborator Aaron Hellam in Oakland upon their return home.
Singer Ben Flanagan says “It was a beautiful challenge to put only four songs out at once in EP form and have them not only stand on their own but also work together and really say something and be powerful and meaningful.”
As they continue forward, ever united in that original pureness of intentionality, Black Map covers bigger ground. Bursts of ambiance and mellow contemplation compliment the broadly shaped melodic noise. Unafraid experimentation gives way to a strong dichotomy, to new elements, all within that original structure of Black Map’s monster riffing.
Sonic treasure hunters who study Black Map will find themselves transported to the spirit of the early 90s rock resurgence when bands jettisoned the superficial fluff of the previous decade without wandering too far into dense pretension and delivered authentic and heavy music. Black Map combine flourishes of beauty alongside the bombast and a modern sensibility that nevertheless will not sacrifice its raw realness.

Ten years ago Glenn was diagnosed to have the onset of the early stages of Parkinson’s – from then until recently Glenn has lived his life as the great heavy metal guitar player he has always been, maintaining by his own definition a standard of quality and performance that is incredibly important
Right now Glenn is able to play and perform some of the Priest songs that are less challenging but due to the nature of Parkinson’s progression he wants to let you all know that he won’t be touring as such –
True to the metal spirit of ‘the show must go on’ Glenn has requested Andy Sneap to fly the flag on stage for him
“I want everyone to know that it’s vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band – it’s simply that my role has changed. I don’t rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest! So at some point in the not too distant future I’m really looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful metal maniacs once again”
Rob, Richie, Ian and Scott have this to say:
“We have been privileged to witness Glenn’s determination and steadfast commitment over the years, showing his passion and self belief through the writing, recording and performing sessions with Priest – he is a true metal hero!
We are not surprised by Glenn’s insistence that we complete the Firepower tour and thank Andy for joining us to make Glenn’s wishes become real – as Glenn has said we also can’t wait to have him with us at any time any place on the road…..
Combining the melodicism of Dokken with the hard-hitting approach of Pantera, SiLK9 is certainly one of the more promising hard rock/heavy metal bands to hit the scene in modern times. And this is certainly proven by the group’s latest music video, for the track “I Don’t Know.”
As the group’s leader/guitarist, Anthony Leone, explains, “’I Don’t Know’ is about struggles. You may have struggles in life, or you may have addictions…regardless, we want everyone to know that even though things may feel at the worst, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Even when moving forward may feel like falling far behind, it’s only temporary! Grab and cherish the good days, and let go of the bad ones.”

The band – which is also comprised of Scott Boyd (vocals), Charlie Hughes (bass), and Justin Walker (drums) – issued their latest release on January 5, 2018, ‘Retribution,’ via RFL Records.
The band’s previous EP was released under the title ‘Exit The Pain,’ and was released to much acclaim on the local Pittsburgh and Tri-State scenes with regular radio play on several local stations as well as internet radio.
It received 6 nominations in the Iron City Rocks Music Awards, and nailed down the award for “Best Album of the Year.”
And with the arrival of ‘Retribution,’ fans will be treated to 5 high energy and flat-out aggressive tunes that will burn the soul and etch new depths into your melodic metal core; melody that stretches the heart; a heavy beat that ravages your mind; a powerful pre-cursor to a new album that is in the works for 2018. The dawn of a new era launches and the thunder that is SiLK9 is set to take the hard rock world by storm. Can your ears handle the volume?
Groundbreaking art-rock performer, author and spoken word artist OTEP is thrilled to divulge new, behind-the-scenes information about her upcoming, currently untitled, full-length album. The album – her eighth overall and second with Napalm Records – is scheduled to hit stores later this year. OTEP and her band are currently recording at The Lair in Los Angeles, completely utilizing the same equipment used on their first album, Sevas Tra (down to her original vocal microphone, a SHURE Beta 58), in order to create a sound reminiscent of their roots. The Lair is also where OTEP recorded Smash The Control Machine, the band’s fourth release.
OTEP says this upcoming eighth album is undoubtedly the band’s most authentic and honest. “I’m co-producing this album with my guitarist Aristotle, which has allowed us to create without limitations. The musicality is stellar and has been elevated to a whole new stratosphere of sound. With Aristotle on guitar, Justin Kier on drums and Drew Barnes on bass, each musician has a powerful voice on this album.”
As for her lyrics, OTEP says, “No one is safe, no one escapes. It’s powerful, poetic, patriotic protest music. One could say it’s an activist album hoping to incite social change and support those who are at the barricades, who are marching in the streets for justice, who are demanding our government protect our great nation from enemies foreign and domestic – this includes the bloated colostomy bag disgracing the White House, Traitor Trump, and his loafer licking cronies… but I digress.”
This new album will follow OTEP‘s previous full-length, Generation Doom, released via Napalm Records in 2016. The critically acclaimed album debuted at #10 on the Independent Chart, #7 on the Rock Chart, #4 on the Hard Rock Chart and #109 on the Top 200 Albums Chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan. OTEP expects this next album to transcend all previous achievements, and feels spiritually strong about the number eight.
“Writing our eighth album is not only a blessing for which we are forever grateful but the number itself is said to have magical properties,” says OTEP. “In Norse mythology, the horse of the god Odin has eight legs. The Pythagoreans considered the number eight the “little holy number”. The eighth day of the Chinese New Year is the annual gathering of all the gods in Heaven. In the Tarot, eight is the card for Justice which seems appropriate considering the current political climate we are suffering through. The mathematical symbol for infinity is an eight on its side. There are eight festivals observed in the Wicca Wheel of the Year. There were eight gates surrounding the ancient city of Babylon. The eighth gate was named the Gate of Ishtar. Ishtar is the goddess of love and war, the Queen of the Earth and Heaven. She is the morning and evening star. Qualities I certainly relate to. And finally, I’m a Scorpio and Scorpio is the eighth astrological sign in the Zodiac.
A 33rd Degree Freemason and Master Rosicrucian, Manly P. Hall once said, ‘The rites of the Scorpion are the Mysteries of the Apocalypse and the ceremonies of Dionysus.’ Expect the unexpected. Expect to have your brain pushed back.”
OTEP shook up the United States last year with her popular “The Resistance” World Tour performances-potent, engaging exhibitions of activism awareness spreading the vital word on equal rights, social education and political enlightenment. This summer, OTEP will return to the stage at Rock Fest in Cadott, WI!

Imagine if Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and Alice Cooper had a grandmother that fronted a rock band…enter Granny 4 Barrel! A Neo-Victorian steampunk shock rock nightmare – she is the Matriarch of Metal! And soon, Granny will be rocking the USA – on a killer bill that also includes Texas Hippie Coalition and Kobra and the Lotus. Kicking off on April 19th in Salt Lake City, Utah, the tour will crisscross the states until June 3rd, when the tour wraps up in Austin, Texas.
“We’re honored to be on the Year of the Bull Tour, with all of these great bands,” says Granny. “Granny’s gonna take the bull by the horns, ride it then kick that f**ker in the nuts. I’m like a surrogate bad ass granny to all the rock ‘n’ roll children out there, and I’ll be satisfying appetites every night with a heaping plate of heavy metal!”
Granny is already causing a buzz in the metal press, as evidenced by this recent quote from the BraveWords website – “IT’S KIND OF CREEPY, SLIGHTLY COMICAL, BUT THEN YOU GET KICKED IN THE NUTS BY IT.” And the rocker, “Freak Flag,” is the first single/video of many to come (released via Mighty Loud Records and produced by Jeff Tomei), a song about being true to yourself. “The song is about freedom of expression, and not being afraid to expose who you really are. With that in mind we wanted to include extras and not just have it be the band alone.”
“We put out a casting call for eccentric people who wanted to be able to express themselves,” recalls Granny about the song’s video shoot. “People who had a special look or talent that made them unique. So many amazing people showed up for the shoot. This is what makes the video extra special, these are not ‘quote’ Hollywood actors, these are real people, looking the way they look and doing the things that they do every day…we did not modify anyone’s look or persona in anyway, this is truly authentic.”
By now, you will probably realize that Granny is a true original – “She represents freedom of expression, no limits on a person, and I channel her rage and insanity. In society, there are these stereotypes based on age, sex, race etc. Granny just shatters the mold! Her mantra is unleash your true self…make your own rules, anything is possible.” And soon, lucky fans throughout the US of A will witness the savior of rock n’ roll on a nearby concert stage – GRANNY 4 BARREL!

The buzz surrounding legendary metal band Judas Priest’s forthcoming album, ‘Firepower,’ is undeniably growing louder – on the strength of the video clip for the track “Lightning Strike,” as well as many of the attractive/limited edition purchasing options made available for fans via PledgeMusic already being sold out. And it will soon reach a fever pitch with the unveiling of another new killer track, plus another limited edition of the forthcoming album being made available for purchase.
Set for release on Friday, March 9th, 2018 via Epic Records – the album is comprised of fourteen tracks of pure and highly inspired metal.
And to mark the occasion Priest (singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis) has reunited with producer Tom Allom (the man behind the board for all of the band’s releases from 1979-1988, including such stellar classics as ‘Unleashed in the East,’ ‘British Steel,’ ‘Screaming for Vengeance’ and ‘Defenders of the Faith’) and with Grammy Award-winning producer Andy Sneap also helping to raise the sonic bar even higher.
“Tom Allom has got this classic metal thing,” explains Halford. “And Andy is a bit more of a ‘modern metal producer’ but his thinking is a little bit different to Tom’s. And I think to get this balance between that classic old school metal to what Andy’s world is was just a remarkable coalescence.” “Tom Allom has been with us since 1979, so his knowledge of ourselves and our music in general is immense,” adds Hill. And according to Travis Priest returned back to a recording method that worked incredibly well on the band’s earlier classics – “We went back to the organic way of recording where it’s all of us in a room and we got to play together.”
With the impending arrival of ‘Firepower’ and its ensuing tour (which kicks off on March 13th), THE PRIEST IS BACK!
