You might have noticed this articles featured image before getting here. Yep, we’ve made a big branding change. The MASK Logo has officially changed. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time now for a variety of reasons and i’ll break some of them down for you now.

  • Brand Alignment – Our Warrior Tribe wasn’t always a thing, but with warrior culture being the backbone of our entire operation, nothing out there embodied that to me more than a Spartans helmet. I went with a modern yet grunge collision to show that we are not stuck in the past. Warrior culture should evolve, and the grunge and deterioration of the helmet represents the test of time, aka battle hardened. From the gash in the eye, to the shield itself. Each aspect of this logo, just as our old logo, carries a specific message with it.
  • The Old MASK Logo – was made long ago before my design skills matched my understanding of branding. So, when I made it what I didn’t anticipate was the complications I’d eventually run into with certain types of printing. Such as embroidery, brand stamps, vinyl cutting etc. Our old logo is borderline impossible to work with for a lot of things and it limited us very hard.
  • Originally – When I designed the first MASK logo I did so by hard referencing another skull that I liked. So it’s not totally original. I liked it, it did the job, but I wanted something totally unique to us. Spartan helmets are used a lot in this industry, but not a lot of them are in good taste so and I felt that if anyone truly embodied what it stood for, it was us. I also sourced my original idea for it from one of our competitors, and I didn’t care at the time, but I want total uniqueness, and our old logo was just too similar and it just never was what I truly wanted it to be. I have been working on this change for a while now, and it’s with great pleasure that I introduce you to this new face for MASK Tactical. Along with this new face, will come some even higher standards for our content and environments you consume it in. It’s not just the logo that’s evolving. It’s our entire operation.

There’s more to the message of the logo and I will be breaking it down in full soon. This is the first appearance of the new design. It’s going to take some time to get a lot of our graphics files modified to reflect the new design but I will be working as fast as I can to make that happen. Along with the graphics changes we will obviously be getting all new merchandise, so get ready for that. In the meantime be sure to pick up anything in the store with our now “vintage” logo. There won’t be anything else made with it so that means you will own a big piece of our history and we still have a huge empire to build.

RECENTLY COMPLETED OBJECTIVES:
  • New MASK Tactical Official Logo – COMPLETED
  • Podcast Rebrand – COMPLETED
  • TRUSPEC Tactical Pants Review – COMPLETED
SHORT RANGE RADAR:
  • Operation Optimize – This course has been a massive 2 year project with over a decade of trial and error put in to create it. There’s over 8 Modules packed with 35+ Lessons of life altering training. We officially have 5 lessons left to create before it launches to the public. The lessons themselves are already finished, they just lack their videos and I will be completing them over this coming week and the next to get everything ready to launch. Currently, tribe members can get early access for only $99. This ends the moment the course launches, and it will launch at $397 to start. I’ve been consistently chipping away at this course over the last few weeks as it’s all I have focused on and I am closing in on the finish line very fast now. It will be launching very soon so if you are a tribe member and want early access for a fraction of the official cost, get with me now so we can get you enrolled.
  • The Primal Method – Directly after Operation Optimize is completed and launched I will begin the writing for this book. It will be an ongoing project throughout 2018 with the goal to have it published before the end of 2018. This book will be the foundation of all that we are here. I aim for it to be the foundation of preparedness for many people.
  • Tribe Nutrition – After Operation Optimize we will be focusing on fitness resources big time. The first 3 nutritional tools we will be developing for you guys are meal trackers, grocery lists, and meal plans that will be tailored to your specific goal. We will be consulting with industry leading subject matter experts to deliver you some super solid resources.
  • Tribe Directories – We are going to be implementing a new interactive map feature that you will see in a few areas across our site. We’re going to try to apply it to our tribe accountability program, member directory, and divisions directory. It will also be mobile optimized. This new map feature will make it easier for you to find other members and active tribe divisions.
LONG RANGE RADAR:
  • WFA’s (Warrior Fitness Assessments) – The Alpha and Savage level tests are under construction. It will take a little time and testing as these tests will be completely different from our two base level tests. They will be different, and much more difficult. We’re aiming to bring these to life within the first half of 2018 as training & product development is currently taking priority. For now you can take the two tests we currently provide here.
  • Launching Black Sector – Black Sector is an “upper echelon” division of the Tribe. Invitation only with a thorough vetting process and higher standards. It will have some one time costs associated with it if you are invited into it, choose to accept, and pass the vetting process. A good way to look at Black Sector is that it will be to us what SF is to the military. It will consist of only our most elite Warriors. We are aiming to launch Black Sector sometime later in 2018.
  • Tribe Phone App – I’m always trying to enhance your tribe membership at little to not extra costs to you. One of the things we will be working on in 2018 is a phone application that will place everything you need right in one place. Video Training, INTELSECTOR archives, and more. The app will start off pretty basic, but as we get more app development resources and knowledge to fuel it, it will become the home for all things tribe related. We will still utilize FB groups, but a secure app with chat rooms, forums, training challenge leaderboards, and much more is the goal.
  • Tribe SMS – Daily SMS communications from Primal at HQ will start happening in 2018. Warrior Wisdom messages, accountability checkups, and more. You will be able to subscribe once the platform is built, and new members moving forward will be auto subscribed to it when they join.
GEAR REVIEW RADAR:
  • Vertx Gammut EDC Pack
  • Kershaw Shuffle 2
  • TAD Shagmaster Hoodie

That’s it for now guys. There’s always obviously a lot more going on behind the scenes of which I try to touch on in vlogs, posts inside the tribe, or other videos and such. So try to stay up to speed! See you in the new year with our next report.

Tru-Spec is normally known for quality budget gear but they totally proved that they can step up to the plate with higher-end apparel with the Tru-Spec Xpedition Tactical Pants. Part of the 24-7 series, the Xpedition Tactical Pants are packed with practical functionality, and they’re my new favorite tactical pants.

The two biggest things I look for in a pair of tactical pants is the breathability and flexibility. They have to breath good, and they can’t restrict my range of motion. If they check those two boxes they’re normally going to be good. Those aren’t the only two boxes the Xpedition Tactical Pants check though. They’re also adjustable at the boot line, flexible in the waist for easy CCW, and versatile all around.

Here’s Some Notes From Tru-Spec on The Xpedition Tactical Pants

Lightweight yet super durable these pants are the right choice for a wide range of outdoor activities from camping, climbing to hiking. Constructed from durable 6.5 oz. polyester cotton rip-stop fabric with a DWR water repellent coating and double Weave 91% Nylon, 9% Spandex® accents, the TRU-SPEC® 24-7 Xpedition® pants are like no outdoor pants you have ever worn.;

Features
  • Durable double weave fabric on the hip yoke, back of the knees and front cargo pockets
  • Comfort fit slider waistband
  • French fly inside zipper for added security
  • Deep front slash pockets designed to hold most folding knives
  • Front facing inset stretch cargo pockets with hidden snap closure and internal D-rings
  • Left cargo pocket has zipper closure under flap for secure storage
  • Easy access DropN pocket behind right cargo pocket
  • Dual mesh zippered cooling vents on each leg at the thigh and calf area for increased airflow and temperature regulation
  • Gusseted for ease of movement
  • Carabiner or keychain loops on front belt loops
  • Back pockets – one with an easy access flap closure, one with a secure zippered closure
  • Articulated knees
  • Double zipper leg opening with expandable mesh lining and venting options
  • Additional layer of nylon webbing fabric for reinforced durability from boots
  • Strap adjustment with snaps on ankle cuffs and boot hooks
Here are some other options if these don’t “do it” for you.

The Renovo Water MUV Eclipse filter kit is one of the newer “kits on the block” but it doesn’t disappoint. The MUV Eclipse is a combination of 3 different filters in the MUV line that can all be bought individually but this kit comes packed with everything you need to get complete filtration.

I’ll be honest, at first, it intimidated me with all the parts and pieces. However, after I played with it for just a few minutes it really wasn’t as hard as it seemed. So don’t let it fool you. You WILL be able to figure it out pretty quickly.

So let’s dive into the details. Here’s what you get. KIT FEATURES:
  • Collect and filter water using the included pump, 10L gravity bag, or water bottle
  • Blocks sediment and large particulate

Today we check out the new and improved 3V Gear Smuggler Adventure Duffle Bag. You guys might remember the old version of the smuggler adventure duffle bag that I reviewed a while back. Well, they took some of the feedback and made some nice improvements!

The new pack features enhanced zippers, an external pocket, quick release carry straps, a slight change in color and better material. Overall it’s now more functional and robust. I still use it as my gym bag as I carry a lot of extra stuff for MMA training such as shin guards, gloves, BJJ Gi, etc. The smuggler adventure duffle bag is perfect for it.

I plan to pick up a bunch more to use for general gear storage. They’re great to organize gear in and you can throw them right in the back of your vehicle. Duffles are great for grab and go bags. They’re not all chopped up with pockets so that means you get a ton of room to pack in a lot of gear. Picking one up and loading it with clothing, another for food & water, and another with first aid, etc.

For those instances when you need to haul a bunch of gear. These are the perfect alternative to storage crates.

Here are the new specs

Gear, gear, and more gear; the Smuggler is the go-to bag for your gear intensive travels and adventures. Built to maximize capacity while keeping weight down, the Smuggler adventure duffel bag was designed to be rugged and easy to use. Whether you’re throwing together an overnight bag for a business trip to Fresno or heading out on a 3-month expedition to the Antarctic, the Smuggler Adventure Duffel Bag can handle it and look good doing it.

Designed for harsh environments, the water-resistant PVC Tarpaulin shell keeps water and dirt out while still being easy to wash down. A reinforced 600-denier polyester base ensures this duffel bag can take a beating.

The Smuggler Adventure Duffel Bag offers many different carrying options: side straps with a handle with snap closure, haul loop handles on both ends, and padded shoulder straps so you can wear the duffel as a backpack and keep your hands free.

FEATURES:

• Built to exacting standards from heavy-duty water-resistant PVC tarpaulin
• Reinforced double layered 600-denier polyester floor panel
• Large zippered D-shaped opening for easy access to gear
• 45L dimensions: 21 x 13 x 13 inches (2,787 cubic inches)
• 60L dimensions: 24 x 14 x 14 inches (3,695 cubic inches)
• 85L dimensions: 27 x 16 x 16 inches (5,429 cubic inches)
• Burly industrial zippers
• Interior mesh pocket
• External stash pocket
• Padded haul loop handles on both ends for easy carry
• Removable padded shoulder straps with quick release buckles for easy removal and storage
• Daisy chain loops for easy attachments

The guys at 3V Gear continue to impress me. There’s truly no better option for quality gear on a budget. I’m not a huge fan of sling packs, but the 3V Gear Shift Urban Sling Pack didn’t disappoint. It’s part of their new Stealth Operator Bag (SOB) lineup.

It’s design is blacked out, it’s tactically functional, and yet it maintains discretion for the urban environment. Like most sling bags the 3V Gear Shift is designed to be slung around the front of your body and the pockets are designed sideways so you can have quick access to every pocket without having to take the bag off. There’s even a concealed carry compartment and you can combine it with their Shadow Shot velcro holster.

Here’s some more details from 3V Gear.

The 3V Gear Shift Urban Sling Pack was designed to give you the same rugged, tough construction that you would expect from all 3V Gear bags but with discreet styling. This gives you all of the benefits of a tactical sling bag but also allows you to blend in if you want to. The Shift Urban Sling Pack is designed to give you quick and easy access to your bag without removing it. This Shift swings around to the front of your body and all of the zippers are positioned on the side of the bag to give you access to all of your gear with the bag in front of you.

The 3V Gear Shift features a padded laptop sleeve, loads of organization, stabilizer strap to keep your bag secure, conceal carry pocket with loop field for a Velcro holster, and molded EVA foam back. Two padded grab handles and a thick, padded shoulder strap will keep you comfortable when using the Shift.
