Greetings everyone. I've been busy living life and recovering from dry eye. I appreciate the messages and inquiries about my health. I've been very busy traveling for work, volunteering, and spending time with my lovely girlfriend. It will be one year together next month.
I've updated my regimen HERE. The most recent development is that my doctor has put me on a new eyelid spray called Avenova. It is only available by prescription (the discount card with copay makes it $35 a month out of pocket). According to Dr. Knauff, this is a more preferable solution to clean the eyelids because it has hypochlorous acid. This apparently helps keep the Meibomian glands from getting clogged (symptom of MGD). According to her, the solution in OTC eyelid scrubs can irritate your eyes if you use them long-term. It takes about two weeks for Avenova to start being effective and I use it twice a day.
It's pretty simple to use: Spray twice on the eyelids and then wipe with a plain cotton round (the kind you use to remove makeup). You can read more about this product here https://avenova.com. Here is a link to a video about this product:

In addition to using Avenova, I also had my 3rd Lipiflow procedure last month. My doctor said that it is common for her patients to have to repeat the procedure. I am grateful to have a great doctor and to have a procedure that enables me to live a semi-normal life.
That's all for now. Wishing you lots of healthy tears.
