Hello, all! I’ve seen a lot of amazing cards made using the Panda images from the Party Like a Panda stamp set from the August 2019 card kit, so I thought it would be fun to create a card using other elements from the stamp set! I used only the balloon stamps!

Tombow Marker Watercoloring - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I started by stamping and cutting out masks with masking paper for all the balloons. Then I stamped them close together and visually overlapping. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof and I planned to watercolor. And I used Strathmore Bristol paper since that paper works well with watercolor markers.

After taping the piece to a hardboard, I painted the balloons and background using the Galaxy set of Tombow Markers. I filled in the “Happy” balloons with a Molotow Liquid Chrome marker.

To finish off the painting portion, I splattered some white gouache over the sky area to create stars, and added highlights to the balloons using a white Gelly Roll pen.

The very last step was to add a greeting. I stamped and white heat embossed “Happy Birthday” on black cardstock using Simon’s Tiny Words Birthday stamp set and adhered it to the watercolor panel using foam squares.

I hope you enjoy the card today! You can pick up the August 2019 Card Kit HERE, or subscribe to receive this card kit and future kits HERE.

Happy Monday, all! Today I created a fun card using the new Toucan Paradise stamp set from Concord & 9th. When I saw the fun tropical leaves in the set, I knew I wanted to try multicolor stamping with them.

2 Ink Colors on the Same Stamp - Make a Card Monday #281 - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

For the multicolor stamping, I used two colors of Distress Oxide Ink to stamp the leaves, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. For the flowers, I used Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.

I kept the card simple by adding a white heat embossed “Hello” stamp from the stamp set, and mounting the stamped piece on a white card base.

For a bit of added detail, I drew a dashed line going “behind” and “in front of” the leaves with a bold white Gelly Roll pen.

And that was it! A super simple card with some fun stamping. :) Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Thursday, all! I have baby shower to attend this weekend, so I knew exactly what type of card to make today. :) I thought I’d break out the Wish Upon A Star stamp set from Mama Elephant that I used a few weeks back. The little bunny images are so sweet and perfect for a baby card.

Watercoloring with Distress Ink - Baby Card - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I stamped the image from the stamp set in black ink on hot press watercolor paper. I also stamped the same image on a Post-It note to do a shadow study. This helps when it comes to painting the shadows on the image. Then I started watercoloring the image using Distress Inks.

After the image was fully painted, I created a mask for the image using Simon Says Stamp masking paper. Once the mask was in place, I used a blender brush from Picket Fence to blend Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks. I added stars around the bunny with a white Gelly Roll pen.

I used a circle die to cut out the image, and then prepared a lavender card base. For added shimmer on the card, I coated the lavender cardstock with Silver Glitter Dust spray.

The “baby” greeting was die cut four times using the Oh Baby Words dies from Simon, and then stacked and adhered together to create a dimensional greeting. I adhered it to the circle piece using Gina K Connect Glue.

To finish the card, I wrapped a white satin ribbon vertically and tied a bow. I then adhered the circle piece to the card using foam adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Happy Monday, all! Today I decided to make some customized cards for friends who are celebrating birthdays soon. I created a card for each person with their initial using the Mega Alpha Dies from Altenew (which are on sale currently at their shop–If you’ve thought about picking any of these up, now is the time!). To add fun color, I blended inks around the letters.

Masking & Stencil Blending - Make a Card Monday #280 - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

For the Letter C card, I used the Mega Alphabet C die and cut out some masking paper. After applying the letter mask to white cardstock, I blended four colors of Gina K Designs ink over the letter area using Picket Fence Blender Brushes. I used In the Navy, Turquoise Sea, Sea Glass, and Lemon Drop.

I then placed the Thick Brush stencil from Gina K over the entire area and blended the same colors over it again. This left behind an awesome pattern!

For the next card, I used the Mega Alphabet J die, Altenew’s Mega Rose stencil, and three colors of Gina K ink in Lemon Drop, Peach Bellini, and Passionate Pink.

The final card was created in the fashion way. I used the Mega Alphabet L die, Altenew’s Deco Wonder stencil, and Gina K inks in Passionate Pink, Wild Wisteria, and In the Navy.

I love how these turned out! I can’t wait to mail them off to the recipients!

Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back soon with another card video. :)

Hello, all! Today I have a fun card for you featuring new stamps and stencils from Paper Smooches that will be available for purchase starting tomorrow in the Paper Smooches shop. Today’s post is also a blog hop, so be sure to check out the hop info at the bottom of this post before the Supplies list.

Layered Stencil Blending with Distress Oxides - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I started with Pink Lemonade cardstock from My Favorite Things (which I think they’ve renamed Tickled Pink? Can anyone confirm that? I think it’s the same cardstock). I used the new Patterns and Starry stencils to blend four colors of Distress Oxide ink. I used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Broken China, and Chipped Sapphire. I did all the blending with Blender Brushes from Picket Fence.

The greeting from the new Inhale Exhale stamp set was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossing using white embossing powder.

At this point, I need to make the greeting stand out more, so I masked off a rectangle around the greeting and ink blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink into the area.

I finished off the card by drawing white lines from a Gelly Roll pen around the greeting.

NOTE: You can see the video of the envelope at my Instagram.

NOTE: This post is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.

Hi all! Today I have a card that was so much fun creating! It’s a watercolor card using both traditional watercolors (American Crafts Paper Fashion Watercolors) and FineTec Pearlescent Watercolors.

Layered Metallic Watercolor + "Hand Drawn" Accents - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I started out by masking off six squares in a window pane pattern using masking tape. Then I wet each square with water and dropped in watercolors. After letting it dry, I added small areas of gold pearlescent paint.

Small patterns were stamped in three squares using images from the Hello Darling stamp set and then traced over using a white gel pen. I also added a thin lined border to the other squares.

To finish off the card, I cut the Take Care dies four times, stacked the die cuts, and adhered the greeting to the card.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Hello, all! Happy Friday! Today I wanted to do a bit of no-line watercoloring and thought I would walk you through the painting in real time once again. I used the Spring Fling Florals stamp set from Trinity Stamps for today’s watercoloring.

No-Line Watercolor Florals (in real time) - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Spring Fling Floral stamp set in Antique Linen Distress Ink on Fabriano Artistico Extra White watercolor paper. The watercoloring was done using the Paper Fashion watercolor set from American Crafts.

To add some texture for behind the watercolored flowers, I dry embossed the Marilyn Stencil from Simon Says Stamp into white cardstock with a die cutting machine.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello, all! Today I’m playing with a new stamp set from Concord & 9th and Hero Arts. Yes, a collaboration stamp set! Concord & 9th is helping Hero Arts celebrate their 45th anniversary by releasing a brand new Turnabout stamp set! You can pick up the new 6×8 Props Turnabout stamp set at Hero Arts starting today, and at other retailers beginning July 10.

And if you’re a Hero Arts kit subscriber, you can add it to your MMH box, too!

So today’s post is part of a blog hop with a bunch of artists using the new Props Turnabout stamp set.

Color as a Focal Point - Watercoloring - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

The idea behind today’s card is all about using color as a focal point. I thought it would be fun to have the center area around the greeting be very colorful while the area around it would be monochromatic. It’s a fun way to create a focal point. :)

I used the Paper Fashion watercolor set from American Crafts to paint the entire card, using the black shade for the monochromatic parts.

The new Props Turnabout stamp set is available now at Hero Arts, along with the Turnabout Jig (you can also get the jig at Concord & 9th). The stamp set will also be available at other retailers that carry Hero Arts products on July 10.

Giveaway!

Hero Arts is giving away the stamp set, a Turnabout Jig, and also the Hero Arts die set that coordinates with the rectangle in the stamp set, to one lucky winner! The winner will be randomly selected from all the comments lefts on the blogs across the hop.

You have until June 30 at 11:59pm PST to comment on each blog hop stop. The winner will announced next week on the Hero blog. Good luck!

Now get hopping!

There is lots of inspiration for the Props Turnabout stamp set today! Your next stop on the hop is the amazing Kathy Racoosin!

Happy Monday, all! For today’s Make a Card Monday, I was inspired by a card my friend Jeff Lindberg made on Saturday night during his livestream on Instagram. He created a fun rainbow paint splatter background!

EASY Watercolor Rainbow Backgrounds - Make a Card Monday #279 - YouTube

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I created two rainbow backgrounds with Brea Reese Classic watercolor paints. The first was a diagonal stripe pattern, which I die cut using the Thank You Hearts dies, and then the second was a paint splatter background.

The heart card had a greeting from the Thank You Heart dies, but the second card needed a greeting. I used the One of a Kind stamp set from The Stamp Market to stamp a black greeting over the paint splatters.

And that’s pretty much the cards for today! Hope you all enjoyed! I’ll be back on Wednesday with another video. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday, all! Welcome back! Today I’m sharing with you four different ink blending combinations with Distress Oxides for sunset skies. This was a request from a few months ago. I thought the Wildflowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp would be perfect for some cards made with sunsets!
