Change is the constant thing that Disrupts every field. The things which we saw yesterday may have changed today. In the same fashion, technology is continually evolving to make individual tasks more comfortable than ever before. In recent years we have seen many disruptive technologies such as cloud computing, Artificial intelligence, Blockchain,& Robotic process automation etc. These technologies are also known for their innovativeness and cost-effectiveness.

As we discussed in the above paragraph, Robotic process automation is an automation software which enables the businesses in automating the repetitive, tedious, and time-consuming tasks and thereby contributes to the overall development of the industry. There are many RPA tools available in the market and here in this article, we are going to discuss about widely accepted by a wide range of industries known as Blue Prism. Before jumping into the Blue prism, tutorial let’s discuss some essential points.

What is Robotic process automation?

Robotic process automation is a software technique in which robots or computer algorithms are used to perform the repetitive, rule-based or complex tasks without the intervention of humans. These tasks include calculations, queries, maintenance of records, and transactions.

The robotic process automation does not include actual robots or the environment to automate your business. To do this, various RPA vendors provide the software bots, libraries and run-time environment that is required to automate the business process.

What is RPA Blue Prism?

Blue Prism is a Uk based company which is into software development in the robotic process automation. This company provides the software Robots that works exactly like humans and helps the organizations in automating their back office works.

The intention behind developing blue prism tool is to make the business across the world more agile and cost effective by automating the rule-based, time-consuming, and repetitive tasks. The intention behind this popular tools is to create a “Digital workforce”.  The Blue Prism tool offers various drag and drops features to automate each step of the business effectively.

Blue Prism Components

In this section, we are going to discuss various components that are essential for running the Blue Prism.

Blue Prism environment contains the setup such as libraries, tools and runtime environment.

Each software robot contains the below main two parts.

  1. Object studio
  2. Process  Studio
Object studio:

Object studio enables to create the visual business object. It facilitates the interface between the applications or integration of applications.

It is similar to process studio except for the following differences.

  • Object studio does not have the main page but is equipped with two additional default pages.
  • The pages are organized in not in a flat group hierarchy but in a hierarchy way.
  • It offers some “stage” which is unavailable in the process studio.
Benefits of VBO:
  • Takes lesser time to create a sequence bot.
  • Consistency and easily scalable.
  • Maintenance of bot is very easy, and the changes made to the system need to be updated only at one location.
Process Studio:

Process studio is a place in which the actual process diagrams are prepared. This component of blue prism consists of various features such as object call, business logic, variables, and control loops etc. Each process that created, first gets executed on the main page. The method which formed in the process studio is similar to a flowchart.

It works similar to human by interacting logically with various applications. It undergoes a series of steps to complete a set of steps consistently.

How to create a new process?

To create an original method in blue prism first thing you need to do is open blue prism tool and select the Studio menu from the icons that are presented at the top of the screen.

  • Next, after selecting ‘Studio’, you will see the Process button, right click on it and you will get an icon named with “create a new process” from the context menu.
  • Name it as a “First process”.
  • Enter the details or an in-depth description of the new process.
  • The new process icon will appear under the process heading. To open this double click on it.
  • As you can see in the above image, the left side of the stage is called stages toolbar. You can use the various steps by drag and drop them on to the page.
  • You can observe in the above screenshot that in the stages toolbar one with the rectangular step is highlighted with blue colour. Whichever the colour highlighted the stage in the stage bar will directly be added onto the page if you click on it. If you want to highlight the colour, then click on the calculation toolbar to highlight it.

In the above image, you can notice how the cursor changes and has the calculation stage right next to it. You can click on the process page to calculations stage. This could eliminate the several steps you need to undergo if you wish to add the same stages to add.

Advantages of Process Studio

Below mentioned are some of the benefits that arise out of using process studio.

  • The process is similar to business objects in many forms
  • To define a process, we need one or more pages.
  • Each page contains data and various pages.
  • Mani page is the starting page always.
  • Each page in a process contains an individual tab. It allows you to segregate the process into various logical groupings.
  • The process acts similar to a human being in term of thinking and typing.
  • We are required to publish the process to make it visible to control room.
What is Business Objects?

Implementation of RPA in any organization would undergo the various process. The process needs to be contact and function with internal as well as various external applications. To interact with the external application, we need an interface, and this interface is called a business object.

  • A business object is configured in a distinct environment called as object studio but not in process studio.
  • It is developed to provide the interface to a single application.
  • The process always uses it without exposing itself to the control room.
Benefits of Using blue prism

Following are the benefits that arise out of using a blue prism.

High Accuracy: this tool is developed in a manner to run the process with zero mistakes and with high accuracy.

Scalable: it gives high scalability because it is not based on any script or records. It works with the digital workforce that executes the tasks.

Better service Quality:   this tool has an inbuilt feature of the auto audit to check the services or tasks that are executed.

Basic Blockchain interview Questions:
Q) What is blockchain?

Blockchain is a distributed digital public ledger which is highly secure and immutable. In the blockchain, one can transfer the information which is economical or has some value. It contains blocks which are attached to each other and are developed based on the cryptographic principle.

Q) What are the various types of Blockchain technologies available?

There are mainly  three types of blockchains available in the market which are

  • Public Blockchain
  • Private blockchain
  • Consortium blockchain
Q) What makes blockchain more Popular?

Below are the things that make blockchain accessible.

  • It’s integration with other technologies open source nature
  • Highly secure in nature
  • Blockchain can be suitable or integratable for any kind of business.
Q) What are the two types of records available in the blockchain network?

There are two types of records available in the network which are block records and transactional records. These records are quite flexible in nature and are integrated with one another without following any complex algorithms.

Q) What are the properties of blockchain?

There are fours critical features of blockchain

Distributed ledger

Safer and Secure System

Mining

Decentralised System

Q) What is meant by encryption? And what its role in blockchain?

Encryption is the best possible way to secure the information to transfer it from one party to another. It is nothing but changing or modifying the data to some extent, and the authorised parties can only view the information. Blockchain adds more security to the encryption process by storing the information in the form of blocks in an immutable way.

Q) In which Order blocks are stored in Blockchain?

It is a simple thing to know in blockchain, but many don’t see how blocks are stored. In the blockchain, blocks are stored in a backward manner by linking to each bone to its previous block.

Q) How to recognize a block in blockchain?

There is a number of blocks in this giant blockchain ledger, and each block contains specific information. Each block contains a unique identification number called Hash. It is used as a key to finding the particular block on a blockchain network.

Q) Is it possible to alter the data once entered into blockchain?

No, it is not possible to alter the information once it gets stored on the blockchain network. If any organization requires any kind of modifications, they need to erase the information from all other blocks too. In the blockchain, the data would be given utmost priority while entering into a chain.

Q) What do you know about the security of a blockchain?

A blockchain is a robust algorithm which is designed based on a cryptographic method and contains a hash. Each block is secured with a unique hash. Any Modification to a block will result in a change in the hash identifier of the block. Therefore one can not hack the information in it. Hence one can store all kinds of valuable information without bothering about any security issues.

Q) What is a ledger in blockchain?

In general, the book which records the financial information is called a ledger, in the same fashion a digital network is used to store the information in the blockchain is called a ledger. Blockchain is an open distributed ledger that can record the information between the parties and the information entered on it will be verifiable and more secure in nature.

Q) What are the common types of ledgers available in blockchain?

There are three types of the commonly available ledger in Blockchain. Which are

  1. Centralised network
  2. Decentralised network
  3. Distributed network.
Q) What makes blockchain ledger special from all other networks?

The first thing to consider is blockchain is a digital ledger and can be decentralised very quickly. The chances of committing errors are very less compared to a manual ledger. An ordinary ledger requires human skill to record the transaction on it, but when it comes to the blockchain, it is an automated one.

After it is reaching the authorised person, it allows us to combine the information if it is correct; otherwise, it will not. This is an additional security feature in the blockchain.

Q) What do you mean by off-chain transactions?

Off-chain transactions are special ones in Blockchain. It does not affect the network unlike on chain network. On a chain, network depends on the blockchain to agree upon the transactions. Off-chain transaction completely works out of blockchain and serves for a special purpose.

Q) What are the security Threats do you familiar with?

Security hacks are overgrowing due to the increased number of online transactions. Hackers are approaching with different strategies to steal the financial information of others. The primary type of threats includes identity theft, software hacking, hacking passwords etc. In addition to before explained forms of risks, there are some other ways to cause problems to online data such as Worms, Trojan horses, and viruses are other trouble creators.

Q) What type of businesses is eligible to use the Blockchain?

Blockchain is not permitted to any specific kind of organizations. Its powerful security system has attracted every industry towards its implementation. Whoever deals with financial data or sensitive information can use this technology without considering how small or big the organization is. It is best suitable for organizations such as governments, Defence, banks etc.

Q) Explain about security policy?

Security policy is defined as a particular procedure or rules and regulations followed by the parties while executing a process. All it requires is smart contract functionality, a shared ledger,  and privacy policy.

Q) What are the ways to handle risk management in terms of securing records?

One needs to be very active in the areas where the threats can happen and ready to

act immediately if anything goes wrong.

The other approach is to have a backup plan. If the information is highly sensitive, then it is better to buy risk management software.

Q) What is 51% of attack?

Yes, this happens on the network when a person or group of people hold more than 50% of the chain if this happens to the chain the people who own more than 50% can easily manipulate the chain.

Q) Do we able to remove a block from the network?

Yes, we can do that.  In the blockchain network, there are some default options and filters available to do that.

Conclusion:

Digitalisation is becoming more popular these days, and information has got the highest priority among all. Security is the key feature and blockchain is helping the organizations across the globe with its features. Career opportunities are growing day by day in blockchain technology. CRM On-Premise:

CRM on-premise is a customizable, useful application offered by Microsoft Dynamics to deliver powerful CRM solutions for all types of business activities.  It is deployed on your servers. This would require to configure your software setup such as a database, licensing, maintaining application servers, deployment, customisations, networking and hardware setup.   Most of the organisations opt for the on-premise CRM because of its integration capabilities with other applications, and it is customizable to fulfil the particular needs of an organization.

If we compare the two types of CRM’s offered by Microsoft Dynamics, they both are the same from the functional point of view, but it differs from the implementation point of view.

Differences between  CRM Online and CRM On-Premise

Let’s look at the differences between these two CRM’s.

Server Management:

The CRM online is been provided and managed by the Microsoft dynamics organization. They will look after the backend, and Microsoft maintains technical computations such as database and servers.

This On-Premises software is being deployed on the company servers, unlike online CRM.  Databases and servers should be developed and maintained by organizations.

The time required to Setup:

It takes very less time to set up the process because the process is being maintained by the Microsoft you just need to start the process from surfing on your browser.

To set up On-Premises offering it requires technical skills and time to set up. Oe should require high technical knowledge to set up and run the CRM.

Customization capabilities:

The CRM Online is less competitive for developing customizations and to make extensions when compared to the CRM On-Premises.

The CRM On-Premises is highly capable as it is developed and maintained by the organizations whoever uses this CRM product. One can make as many extensions as possible and can craft the applications to suit their applications.

Backup and Restore Options:

The CRM online does not support manual data backup and restore capability since the database is hosted on Microsoft servers. But Microsoft take care of the data backup activity regularly.

CRM on-Premise gives you complete authorisation to handle the database. You can have regular manual data backup without any restrictions.

Data storage limitations:

The CRM online is maintained on the Microsoft servers there is a storage limit such as 5GB, 20 GB etc.

As CRM online is deployed and maintained by the organizations there are no limits for storing the data. You can store the regularly without any restrictions.

Default features;

In CRM Online comes with some free inbuilt features such as insights, analytics, social listening, etc. To have special features like CRM online, it costs some amount for the CRM On-premises.

CRM Updates:

Online CRM supports future updates automatically without any changes from the administrator

CRM On-Premises needs to be updated by the Administrator for the latest software updates.

Entities and forms in Microsoft Dynamics CRM:

There are different entities designed to assign the specific tasks in Microsoft Dynamics. Before knowing what the various types of objects are it is better to know what is an entity.

What is an entity:

An entity is a specific field which is used to define the particular functionalities of a business. There are various entities created for the particular purpose in Dynamics CRM which are

  1. Contacts entity
  2. Accounts entity
  3. Leads entity
  4. Opportunities entity
  5. Activities entity etc.

Each CRM entity works similar to the database to hold the information of each entity. For example, a contact entity is used to record the contacts and cases entity will be used to record the cases information and so on.

You are allowed to have to types of entities one is which comes with CRM, and the other is custom entities which you need to customize it according to your business needs. Here let’s take an example, you are willing to record the databooks that your customers read, but you don’t have an inbuilt filed for recording such data. Top record this information you need to create a new field By naming it as books and relate it with the existing Contacts Entity.

Microsoft Dynamics Fields:

There are 11 types of out of box files provided by Microsoft Dynamics CRM which can be placed on forms.

1) A single line of text:

This field supports 4000 characters to store. You specify the formats as email, text, URL, text area, Ticker, Symbol, and phone. You can determine the maximum length and IME ( input method editor) mode for each of these.

2) Option Set (drop down)

It acts as a drop-down field in CRM. This stores a set of options each having a number value and label.  You can have a chance here to define global option sets.

3) Two options (Radio button):

It is named as a radio button because this field provides only two opportunities for the user to choose from.

4) Image:

If an entity is named as Image filed, then it is programmed to display them for the record in the application.

5) Whole number.

This field is designed to store the details of integer values between -2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647.  It is used to support specifying formats such as Duration, Time Zone, None and Language. You can set the maximum and minimum of values also.

6) Floating Point Number:

This stores the floating numbers between precision between 0.00 and 1,000,000,000.00. You can set the maximum and minimum values here.

7) Decimal Number;

This field store store the 10 decimal points with values  ranging from -100,000,000,000.00 and 100,000,000,000.00.

8) Currency:

This field is used to store any currency values in the range of  922,337,203,685,477.0000 to 922,337,203,685,477.0000.

9) Multiple Lines of text.

This is a scrolling text box, and you can set a maximum number of characters for this field.

10) Date and Time:

This is a date related to field data in CRM. This supports two types of which are Date only, and Date and time. You can even specify the behaviour as a User local date only, and Time zone Independently.

11) Lookup.

A lookup field is used as a relationship filed. You can create a lookup field using an entity that has been designed but not yet integrated with another lookup field.

Workflow process in Microsoft Dynamics CRM:

CRM vendors provide a lot of features that will enable you to automate the business process. Drop down menus will help the organizations in creating an automating experience for any event in the system. The automated areas responses can be triggered by specific field entries, events, or even the passage of time. Here let’s discuss a sales scenario and how Microsoft Dynamics CRM will automate the process.

Sales Automation:

In a hectic life it is very challenging for the sales manager to look after or interact with every salesperson. But it makes sense when a manager is notified with the significant events happened in the system.  Workflow automation simplifies this task and makes sure that nothing is overlooked. With the help of field dependent triggers, Microsoft CRM can perform the below functionalities.

Creates a trigger to notify the sales manager any time if a more than a set of a specified number of employees entered into the system.

Automatically notify particular salesperson regarding the follow up of the customer.

Notifies you if any significant changes happen into the system with the notification.

Microsoft CRM Plugins:

A plugin is defined as a custom business logic that is used to develop, integrate or go beyond the standards of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Plugins are designed to handle the events and are registered to handle the specific event on the CRM platform. To develop these plugin the languages used are C# or VB and are run is either synchronously or asynchronously.

Some cases where you are required to write plugin are

  • If you wish to execute some business function like to create or update a CRM record. Writing plugins are required for updating specific fields of a record, or updating related files etc.
  • Write a plugin if you want to calculate the field values dynamically when  a record is opened
  • If you’re going to automate the emails to your customers on certain events.
  • If you want to call external servers to update or save a record.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM- WEB services:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM is facilitating two essential web services that help in accessing the CRM solutions from external sources and performing standard business operations such as, create, update, delete, and find in CRM.

Let’s consider the following scenario:

You have an external .NET application, and you wish to interact with the CRM . for instance you want to insert a Contact record when a new customer is registered in your external application.

Or you wish to search records in CRM and want to display the search results in external application.

Conclusion:

The business world is highly competitive, and the organizations must move fast enough to grab the opportunity to get ahead of the competition. Microsoft Dynamics enables the organization in maintaining the core business aspects of the organization in an effective way. This CRM will help as a one-stop solution for all business related tasks.

Introduction

We have heard about so many disruptive technologies, and blockchain is one among them. Blockchain and bitcoin are the buzzwords that we come across often. The number of people has been increasing over the years who wish to explore blockchain and invest in it.  In this Blockchain Tutorial, we are going to discuss blockchain, bitcoin and driving factors that made blockchain so powerful. You will become familiar with the blockchain concepts such as cryptography, the process of creasing blocks, mining & Network and all other concepts interlinked with blockchain technology.

History Of Blockchain

The word blockchain was first conceptualised by a person (or group of people) known as Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008. The reason behind developing blockchain technology was to create a highly secured public ledger for all kinds of transactions on the network. Nakamoto has made significant developments to build the blockchain, and the outcome is a Hashcash method to add blocks to the system without any kind of authorization of the third party.

Blockchain main intention is to eliminate all those intermediates such as banks, governments and mediators. It is going to be an economic revolution in the financial industries. The blockchain is allowing us to record the different types of information such as financial transactions and any information that has a value in nature.

Before entering into the blockchain, tutorial let’s discuss the problems associated with our current banking and financial systems.

Problems associated with the present financial system

A major portion of our finances is handled by financial institutions such as banks and other financial intermediaries. These  Financial intermediaries charge the costs for carrying out our transactions. The higher the amount you transact, the more the fees you are liable to pay.

Online Frauds:

We frequently hear about the hacking news of bank accounts by the hackers to steal the money of the innocent people. It includes hacking of credit & debit cards and net banking as well. Every year the amount we are losing due to financial hacks is billions of dollars.

Financial crises:

Financial institutions main motive is to earn profits by investing the funds of people somewhere else; otherwise, it is not possible for them to survive. Banks have spent money in various industries in the form of granting loans, due to losses and many other reasons they haven’t repaid back. In the year 2008 financial institutions have faced a most massive crises, and the amount that they have lost is close to 11 Trillion dollars worldwide. It’s just one of the famous examples, but we frequently hear how banks fall into crises even due to internal emergencies.

The above mentioned are the some of the serious issues faced by banks, and let’s think what if a new financial system comes into a system where problems are eliminated and where no middlemen are required to carry out our financial transactions. That’s where Blockchain comes into the picture.

What is Blockchain?

To put it simply blockchain is a chain of blocks which contains valuable information. The primary motive behind this technology is to time stamp the digital documents, so it is not possible for the unauthorised people to backdate them or tamper them.

The blockchain is being used for various transactions such as money, contracts, property, and a lot more.  One can transact over this network without the need of third parties such as banks, governments, and other financial agents. The data which is recorded inside the blockchain is highly secured and immutable in nature.

The blockchain is a software protocol similar to SMTP for email. To work with the blockchain, we need internet. The blockchain is the system which made of different other particles such as a database, software application, some connected computers etc.

In this blockchain tutorial, we are going to learn what made blockchain more powerful and how it works. And also we are going to cover the topics like bitcoin, cryptocurrency, the process of creating blocks, network & mining and even all significant concepts of blockchain. Let’s get into the topic without wasting much time.

What is Cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency is defined as a virtual or digital currency that uses cryptography( the art of writing and decoding codes) to protect the transactions over the network.  It is challenging to counterfeit the cryptocurrency because of its high security. There are many popular cryptocurrencies available in the market are decentralised systems and works on top of technology called blockchain. Which is a distributed digital ledger shared on different computer networks.  The unique and powerful feature of cryptocurrencies is that it does not require the intervention of middlemen such as governments and banks.

There are different Cryptocurrencies available in the market, and the first and the most popular one is Bitcoin. Some of the currencies have derived from Bitcoin or its children currencies.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is the first and the most popular cryptocurrency in the world which was released in the year 2009, and it is defined as the primary currency which exists electronically.

Bitcoin is a decentralised peer to peer network which means there is no special authority involvement such as government or political authority interference in issuing the bitcoin. Even Though there is no central authority to operate this, it still works in an organised way.

Bitcoin holders can transfer their coins via a peer-to-peer network. The transactions of bitcoins are tracked on a giant digital ledger called blockchain, and it records every bitcoin transaction. The blockchain blocks are build based on the encrypted Markel trees. It allows us to detect fraud or corrupted files. Blockchain has a capability to prevent all other blocks from causing the damage from the corrupted blocks.

What are Smart contracts?

A smart contract is just like a traditional contract and exists in a digital format. The smart contract is also known as a crypto contract, and it’s a computer program which has got the capability to control to transfer of digital currencies or assets between the people.  A smart contract not only contains rules and regulations same as traditional control but it also enforces all the regulations or actions. When any party to the contract breaks the rules automatically, it enforces the legal actions.

The smart contract takes the input as information and compares it with rules laid down in the contract and execute the same. For example, it makes asset information whether it goes to the other person or it should be returned to the person. These smart contracts are stored on the blockchain network.

What smart contracts do?

Smart contracts are becoming smarter day by day their potential has been extending from a simple transfer of assets to a wide range of activities such as legal processing, insurance claim processing, crowdfunding, and financial derivatives etc. In future Smart contracts are going to revolutionise the financial and legal industries by eliminating unnecessary tasks and charges.

Smart contracts not only automating the tasks but also working towards achieving control behaviour, real-time auditing and risk calculations, etc.

Blockchain Architecture

Let’s get to know about the blockchain architecture and how it works.

What is a Block?

A block is a part of blockchain which is used to store the data inside a blockchain, storage mechanism based on the type of blockchain.

For example, A bitcoin blockchain consists of data such as sender, receiver and the number of bitcoins needs to be transferred. Let’s assume, it contains the information of two people such as Rakesh has to send 500 bitcoins to Dheeraj. So now the blockchain includes the information of sender as Rakesh receiver as Dheeraj, and the amount needs to be sent is 500 bitcoins, that’s how bitcoin holds the data.

As the blockchain consists of many numbers of blocks and the first block of the chain is called as Genesis block, and each block is linked to its previous block and holds the hash of the last block.

What is Hash in blockchain?

The Blockchain technology is powerful because of its security and unalterability, the reason behind this is hash. Hash is a function to protect the data in a block. Each block has a hash, and it is the same as a fingerprint. Hash is the key to know the information recorded in a  block. If an attacker wants to change the info on it would result in a change of hashtag so the other chains will not be opened.

Every block in blockchain has the following data.

  • Data
  • Hash
  • Hash of the previous block

In the above image, the block one is considered as a beginning block, and it doesn’t have a previous hash, block 2 contains the hash of block one, and in the same way block, three does.  This is how all the blocks in the network contains the hashes of previous blocks, and this feature makes blockchain a secured system.

Types of Blockchains

Blockchain has created massive hype in the industry and different organizations such as companies, governments and consortiums have entered this segment to develop and use the blockchain in their field. To have a clear understanding lets us know different types of blockchains available in the market.

There are mainly three types of blockchains available and have emerged after the introduction of bitcoin to this world. They are,

  • Public Blockchain
  • Private Blockchain
  • Consortium or Federal Blockchain

In Spite of blockchains as mentioned above even there are other types of blockchains available which are Public-permissioned, and Private-permissioned blockchain etc., to make this topic understandable and straightforward let’s discuss the details of all three blockchains

Public Blockchain:

As the name itself resembles that it is made for the general public participation. To put it just it is made for the people, by the people, and to the people. This network is free from all kind of restrictions and anyone on the network can participate in the activities like reading/writing and auditing. And it is highly transparent, and anyone can review anything at any given point of time on a blockchain network.

We all get a doubt when there is no centralised authority, and everyone have access to the entire network them who will be there to take care of it? In public-blockchain the network uses Proof of work (POW) and proof of stake (POS) etc., to validate the block.

Private Blockchain:

Private-blockchain is a network in which only authorized people are allowed to create a new transaction on the chain (writing permissions). That’s how a private-blockchain is a closed private network, especially helpful for the organizations to store and securely transfer the valuable information. It is required to decentralize or distributes among the users for creating an environment where everyone can have access to it.  The extent of how one can write ( add a chain) or view (read) is decided based on the design and the requirements of an organization.

Blockchain offers a lot more than a simple decentralized network. Other features of the blockchain such as cryptography enable the organization’s high security than the traditional protocols.  The private blockchain is employed in an organisation for the activities such as for developing new cryptocurrency, for voting platforms, valuable data transfers, and to maintain accounts.

Another best feature of the blockchain is that if the authorised people want to hide the information from viewing particular people, we can easily do that. Blockchain saves time and money of the organizations which ever uses it.

Consortium Blockchain:

This is entirely different from public and private blockchains in terms of its functionality. In consortium blockchain group of similar companies or individuals comes together to form a network and takes decisions that benefit the whole system. This kind of groups is called as consortium or federation of the blockchain.

Let’s take an example here, let’s say there are top 20 financial institutions from all over the world have decided to make a decision regarding the consortium in which code of transaction or verification or decision is to be voted or verified by more than 15 organizations to add it to the blockchain, this is how it works.

Blockchain Features

Blockchain has got its first success when the cryptocurrencies have used it as a means of the platform. Let’s look at the various features that made the blockchain most powerful technology.

1) Blockchain as a data structure:

It is a continuously growing record of information, stored in digital blocks. Bitcoin uses the Blockchain network to store its transactions. In the beginning, these transactions start with a single block known as genesis block. The blocks of the system will eventually increase to the proportionate to the growth of data. This chain of blocks has named it as a blockchain.

This kind of inter-linked data structures are there in usage since from many decades to process the word and photography, but none have got the massive hit as blockchain did. And blockchain is more importantly powerful and an immutable block of chains.

2) Immutability and Tamper detection:

The data stored in blockchain is unchangeable and secure due to cryptography. Each block is identified by a unique string of characters which is generated by the cryptographic hash function. Each time the hash function takes any amount of data as an input and give the fixed length of a string as output. The exact range of the output is called hash. In the chain, each block is linked to its previous block (known as the parent block) and stores the hash of the parent block. So even if a little misinformation in giving the input would result in creating an entirely new hash output. So it is easy to trace if any new kind of hash function is produced because it has to go through the consensus. This hash function enables in easily tracing the areas where it was tempered.

3) Decentralized Ledger technology.

We often hear that blockchain is a decentralized digital ledger which means the information entered on the blockchain will be shared among the people who are on the network and connected to LAN or Internet.  A user is notified every time a new block is added to the system so that they can have the latest version of the ledger. With the help of decentralised blockchain, many industries have got benefited such as real estate, stock exchanges, personal identification, and many more.

4) Relative User anonymity:

Even though the blockchain is transparent and one can see the transactions of others, it maintains some decency by keeping the user identity hidden. The public key cryptography allows the blockchain to be shared across the globe by maintaining some anonymity.  When it comes to bitcoin blockchain, its a public ledger one can easily trace the transactions if he or her identity is known. Other cryptocurrencies have already tackled this problem by developing various algorithms.

5) Data protection on blockchain:

In traditional data storage, we need to enter the data manually, and there are a lot of chances to manipulate the data. But blockchain is quite different and secure. One can store their bitcoins by using public/private keys on the distributed ledger. A customer can pay the fee by using their private key, and the merchant can receive the money by sharing his public key with the customer. Once the transaction is over the merchant can have full rights over the coins. The data on blockchain is stored on multiple devices across the world, and if one goes down or attacked by the hacker’s other systems never allow them to manipulate anything over it. That’s how powerful is it is.

Blockchain advantages

There are many industries like finance, hospitality, governments, supply chain, etc. are implementing blockchain to innovate and to moderate the business by disrupting the traditional system. There are many benefits which are avail from implementing the blockchain in their organizations because of the following reasons.

1) Greater Transparency:

The blockchain is transforming the transaction histories more transparent, and it happens because blockchain is a distributed or shared ledger between the participants on the network. As all individuals are required to share the same documentation as opposed to personal copies. Shred version can only be updated on the consensus basis, which means everyone has to agree upon it. If you want to make changes to any transaction, it demands alteration of all subsequent records.

2) Enhanced security:

There are many ways to explain how blockchain is powerful than all other traditional record-keeping systems. In blockchain, the transaction has to be agreed upon before they recorded. Once the transaction got approved, it will be encrypted and linked to the preceding chain.  The information recorded in the blockchain will be shared with the network of computers, so it is tough for hackers to hack or alter the data recorded in the chain. Security is a big concern in any industry, and the blockchain is taking care of this issue by eliminating all your worries.

3) Increased efficiency and Speed:

Traditional or paper-based processing takes a long time to trade, and that is prone to commit errors and needs third-party intervention to complete a transaction. Blockchain eliminates all these processes by automating tasks and requires no mediation, with this will get improved and faster results.   As it is shared between the different parties & transparent hence there builds automatically trust. That’s how it improves the efficiency and harness the speed.

4) High Traceability:

If your organization is into production that has to undergo complex supply chain and you know how hard it is to find the details of the products such as where it has started and where it needs to return in case of any default. Blockchain helps the supply chain departments with its audit mechanism on, where a product journey has started and every stop it made on its journey. This continuous record on the network will help you in secure authentication and prevention of fraud.

5) Reduced costs:

The ambition of every business is to make profits by reducing unnecessary costs. Eliminating prices would result in improved profits. Blockchain eliminates the fees paid to intermediaries. Trading on blockchain will give you more trust because it is immutable and excludes the middleman charges.

Roles and responsibilities of blockchain engineers:

Before getting to know what roles and responsibilities a blockchain developer is going to play let’s have an idea over who is a blockchain developer first.

Who is a blockchain developer?

A blockchain developer is similar to a software developer, and he is responsible for developing and maintaining of blockchain protocols, designing architecture of blockchain systems, developing web applications and responsible for executing the smart contracts is called as blockchain developer.

Types of blockchain developers

Based on the specific work they perform the job roles have been categorised into two types which  are

  • Core Blockchain developers
  • Blockchain software developers.
Roles of Core blockchain developer:

A core developer is responsible for the tasks such as designing, architecture, and security of the blockchain. He/she is responsible for the following core tasks.

  • Designing and developing of blockchain protocols.
  • Developing consensus protocols and creating security patterns for the network.
  • Developing the best network architecture.
  • Maintenance of the entire network.
Roles of Blockchain software developers:

This role is similar to the typical web developer. A blockchain software developer uses the architecture and protocols made by core developers to develop the apps. These people are responsible for developing the decentralised applications, or Dapps with the help of blockchain technology. They are responsible for the below tasks:

  • Development of Decentralized network
  • Development of smart contracts.
  • Development of front end design for Dapps.
  • Managing the entire stack running on their Dapps.
  • Backend development related to the blockchain.
Career outlook and salary

According to the US Bureau of Labour Statistics (BLS) surveyed blockchain career growth and it projected that there going to be a 24% growth rate for software developers during 2016-2026.  The BLS estimated that an average salary of a software blockchain developer would be $103,560. However, due to increasing demand for the blockchain developer would be more than the average.

Blockchain Use case

Here we are going to discuss the Blockchain use case in IoT.

Internet of things is a technology which is considered as one of the significant breakthroughs of the present technological world. It helps in interconnecting various devices and systems thereby to help in developing smart cities and to support the autonomous vehicle revolution. We know well how important data is to function the IoT devices. So blockchain protects the IoT data from falling in the hands of hackers.

Blockchain distributed ledger helps the Internet of things in recording the vast amounts of data produced by the IoT devices to draw the insights out of it for constant development. Blockchain has the capability to store, analyse and transfer the valuable data. It acts as a host for the public and private sectors.

Introduction

In this automation tutorial, we are going to learn different concepts that are associated with the Automation, how it works, and what are its features etc. let’s begin with the essential topics to have a clear understanding.

In the olden days every task has to be performed by humans, sometimes there were tasks which are complex, and repetitive in nature. This kind of complicated and repetitive tasks will consume a lot of time, resources, and are prone to errors. All these complexities gave birth to a technology called ‘Automation’, which eliminates the redundancy process and helps in heading the business to the next level.

What is automation?

Automation is a process of developing technology and its applications to function automatically by eliminating human intervention in performing the complex, rule-based, and repetitive tasks to deliver quality products and services.

Automation is being deployed in different industries such as transport, manufacturing, utilities, defence, operations, facilities, information technology, and a lot more industries. It will enable us to save a lot of time and investment. One can quickly shift their employees from engaging in repetitive tasks to perform creative, and analysis of data which could in return helps in identifying the opportunities and threats.

What is Automation Anywhere?

Automation Anywhere is one of the popular RPA (Robotic Process Automation) vendors with power-packed features and user-friendly tool to automate the complex and rule-based business processes. It has changed the face of all most all industries with its revolutionary technology.  Automation Anywhere is equipped with advanced features such as Natural language understanding, the capability to read any unstructured data, etc.

Automation Anywhere allows the organizations in eliminating the mundane tasks that are previously performed by human beings and helps in employing them in creative jobs. Automation Anywhere is a web-based management system and uses the control room to manage the bots employed to automate the tasks. It has the capability to automate end to end business process.

Automation Anywhere  Architecture

In this section, we are going to familiar with different components that exist inside Automation Anywhere tool and get to know each of them in detail. Here below listed are three components of Automation Anywhere Architecture.

  • Control Room
  • Bot Creator
  • Bot Runner

Control Room:

It is a web-based central system that controls Automation anywhere platform. It acts as a manager to control all the Bots that have been employed to automate the business process. Apart from managing bots it also has control over below activities which are listed below.

1) User Management :It has the ability to manage user access to various IT resources such as systems, devices, applications, networks, storage systems, SaaS services, etc. User management is essential for organization security and to protect it from hackers.

2) Source Control: Coding for the bots is taken care of by the Control room. So it becomes smooth and manageable to share code Across multiple systems.

3) Dashboard: It gives us the complete performance report of different bots that are working on this platform. It also displays how many bots are working, identifies if any bot fails and the reason for bot failovers etc. Each bot is controlled from the control room.

4) Licence Management: whatever the licence that is purchased will be configured in the control room.

There are actually two types of licenses available in Automation Anywhere

Dev Licence: If you buy this licence you can be able to create a Bot, edit a bot and you can run a bot.

Run Licence: If you opt for this you will be able to run a bot, but you are not permitted to make any kind of changes to it.

Bot Creator:

A bot is a web-based robot designed to take care of the automated tasks with the usage of internet. Developers use desktop applications to create and deploy bots. To create a bot, we require a Dev license. Developers licences are checked with the one which is configured in the control room. If the Authentication is successful, then the code created will be stored in the control room. Users can create individual bots/tasks and are merged and executed once.
