Love this wild little crew of mine. We had the best morning at church yesterday! Nothing but smiles, no meltdowns, and French fries after in celebration, because some things just call for French fries, know what I’m saying? Then naps for all, and dinner at Nana and Papa’s house. Starting this week off with a full heart. I hope you are too!!
Saturday morning I worked out and we hung out at the playground with the kids, and then Zack and I got a 3 hour window (bless Zack’s parents hearts for always being so willing to watch our kiddos!!) to get some work done. Seriously, they are the biggest blessing to us! We took pictures for the blog and got some posts written and emails answered, and I just really love being able to work with my hubby as my business partner. It’s incredible and big things are coming to this blog, and I’m just so so excited for it all! :)
I think we can all agree Old Navy is one of the best. I always shop for the kids there (they have the CUTEST kids clothing! And such good prices, always!), but more recently have rediscovered my love for their women’s apparel, too! I actually just went on an online shopping spree and will be sharing all that I got when it arrives, but in the meantime, here’s a little “Dressing Room Diaries” from my recent trip in store…
Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram and check out my Highlights story called “Old Navy” to see all of these looks in action!

When it comes to styling my kids for holidays, one of the most important things I always keep in mind is COMFORT. Yes, I want my kids to look cute and adorable (duh) but more than that, I want them to be able to be KIDS. To move, to jump, to play, to get messy. It’s all part of childhood, and growing and learning, and they can’t do that in stiff boring clothes. ;)
SO. With that being said! When I choose the outfits my kids will be wearing for holidays like Easter, ones where dressing up is part of the norm, I always make sure to pick clothes that are also great for just “being kids.” I’m so excited about the cute clothes I picked up for the kids at Macy’s, and of coooourse I had to share here! Because they fit the bill of being both so stinking cute, dressy AND practical! These are the clothes that they’ll wear to church AND after, because they are just that good. Plus, they play at church, too, so it’s a win-win!
And how cute is this lemon dress?! I can’t even. Macy’s has such a great collection of dresses (of all ranges of dressiness!) for little girls for Easter and other special occasions. This one just screams Spring!
I picked up a few outfits for Sophie, now to just decide which one she’ll wear on the holiday! I also grabbed this adorable Ralph Lauren cardigan to go with everything! And these sequin shoes! Ugh. Too perfect.
They also have an awesome selection of clothes for little boys! Sam is styling in his Tommy Hilfiger button down. I just threw a cute basic tee underneath and left it un-buttoned for a more casual and comfortable look. Also adorable buttoned (which is how he wore it to church)! And he was happy all day in it. That’s what it’s all about.
I love celebrating holidays with my babies, they just have a way of making everything more special. Plus, this year Sophie is really into carrying things, so I know the egg hunt is going to be SO MUCH FUN with her! If she’s anything like her mama, though, she might get a little bit competitive. Watch out! ;)
Shop all of the kids special occasion clothing at Macy’s!
This weekend was amazing. The weather was PERFECT- 70 each day, and it felt like SPRING! Ahhhh. We soaked up that sunshine and outside time as much as we could, because the week ahead is bringing with it lots of showers, boooo. This time change is another thing that’s just making me want Spring to be here already!!! And I don’t know about you, but goodness, this particular year really threw me off- I was SO TIRED all day yesterday. Nothing a little coffee couldn’t fix. ;) Some pictures from our weekend!
We had a friend’s 3rd birthday party on Sunday, and Sophie was SO shy at first! There were a LOT of 3 year olds, Sophie was the youngest, so I think she was just a liiiittle overstimulated. It was a LOT to take in. But once the food was served, she got right in there. Ha! That’s my girl. Food. The great equalizer. And of course, donuts. She literally ate sprinkle by sprinkle. She was actually the last kid left at the table, sitting there happily (and slowly) eating her donut. It was adorable. And hilarious. Just like her.
Just lounging with her cat- the best, most tolerant cat ever. I don’t even want to think about when he goes to Kitty Heaven. NOT ALLOWED.
These two, playing together. Melts my heart! They both loved this little activity, and it was SO easy to make- literally cut a slit in a box and gave them a deck of cards, and they both took turns putting a card in the slot. Genius. And I got to sit for a few minutes. Everybody wins!
What a week! It felt so good to be back in our groove after our two weeks of sickness. My goal for the week was to get to my workout class every morning, and I have officially succeeded at that goal! YAY! :) Feels so so so good! And Sophie got to hang with her friends after class, so really it was a win-win for everyone! Sam had a great week at school, we’ve started PECS so we have been busy this week taking pictures for that and creating his PECS binder, and we have our first walk-through for our HOME in a couple weeks!!! AHHHH!! Some photos and things from this week…
We checked on the progress of our home today (photo taken in the model home). The floors are in, the countertops are installed, there’s carpet and my subway tile, and a fence in the backyard! It’s all coming together and nearly finished, and I can’t even describe the feeling walking through with Sophie, dreaming of all of the memories we’re about to make within those walls. I may or may not have nearly started crying. This is just such a long-time-coming DREAM of ours, and it’s so close to fruition! And Sophie loves our “big house” and is especially a fan of the stairs, so really, we’re set.
Preschool drop off. Some mornings are rough. Some mornings we have melt downs and refuse to walk from the car to the classroom. Some mornings feel like a wrestling match. But not this morning. This morning we had nothing but smiles, and this morning Sam held Sophie’s hand, willingly and on his own, for the first time EVER, and we all walked into his classroom just like this. This morning made up for all of the hard mornings. Those little hands. I’ll remember this morning forever.
Sophie loves her some Girl Scout cookies. She looks at us with her sweet little face, cocks her head to the side and says, “donut cookie?” all sweet-like. I mean, how do we say no to that?! Donut cookie originally meant Samoa (because they look like a donut), but she’s expanded the meaning to include Thin Mints too. Hey, it’s all good.
TEE (size up for slouchier fit) | SHORTS (perfect stretch! tts) | SANDALS (size down two, in “big kids”- if you’re a womens 9, get a size 7) | SIMILAR BAG | WATCH
Hey friends! So I recently got some fun new Spring items in that I am SO excited to share with you! Sharing some Spring looks here, along with links to everything I’m wearing, and sizing info! I also did a full Try-On session in my Instagram Highlights! Just find the one titled “Try-Ons” to see all of these outfits in action!
LEVIS (size up one! There is NO stretch!) | TEE (my favorite- size up, I’m in a medium) | CONVERSE (tts) | NECKLACE
Levi’s are everywhere for the spring- you know, the classic ’90s look. Think: Rachel Green. Since I AM Rachel, I clearly had to try this trend out, annnnd I’m in LOVE! They are such a cute, more relaxed look (not what I’m used to, as the Queen of Skinny Jeans lol!) and they’re super comfy. Be sure to size up one size, as this is 100% cotton denim and therefore has no stretch! I also am loving THIS PAIR and THIS PAIR (don’t size up on these- tts).
My brother asked me about our plans for the weekend… uhhh. Right after telling me about his plans to surf, play tennis, go out to dinner and check out a new brewery (he lives the hard life in San Diego, har har) my response seemed so… lame. Oh, ya know, the usual. Workout in the morning, then hit up the playground and eat dinner at home because we just bought a house so we’re never eating out again (lolz) and then church on Sunday and yeah. That’s it! Our weekend! Pretty much the routine weekend around here, when there aren’t any events/parties to attend.
But also, playing with my babies, coloring, watching them complete puzzles all by themselves and seeing their imaginations grow, tickle fights and deep belly laughs and splashing in the bath… and then I realized: this isn’t lame, at all. There’s nothing lame about this. It’s sweet and special and sacred and amazing and I’m so so SO grateful for it all.
So yes. That was our weekend. And it was pretty damn great. ;)
Well, it’s officially MARCH, which is just absolutely insane to me. But you know. Time, it’s crazy. And what’s even crazier is that in about ONE MONTH, we will be moving into our new home!!! AHHH!!! We don’t have an actual date yet, but I’m still so so so excited. Since February has come and gone, I thought it’d be fun to share my favorite outfits from the past month, along with sizing details! Let me know if you have any questions about any of the pieces linked! :)
Hey friends! Shopbop is having their big Spring sale right now, and it’s one of my very favorites, because it’s a ton of great brands and designers that NEVER go on sale! I shopped it this morning, and wanted to share what I got, and favorites from my closet, that I already own!

20% off $500+
25% off $800+

Anything catching your eye? This is also a great sale to shop together with a girlfriend/sister/mom and split your order to get the most percentage off! :) Just a thought!
SPEAKING of sales, if you aren’t already, follow our Facebook page! We are constantly sharing the best sales! Like this Levi’s one going on right now- 30% off your order + free shipping with code FAM30 at checkout! I just picked up these shorts (after reading reviews, I sized up one) and I’m obsessed with these 721s in Rough Day and Make or Break!
Hey friends! I hope you had a great weekend! Ours was still slow-moving, since this dang cold will NOT leave! It’s hit me the hardest now, and I’m pretty sure I have a sinus infection or something similar, complete with intense sinus pressure and a toothache to go with it. Yep, suuuuper fun times. But I got myself some Flonase and am praying it blows over soon!
We managed to head to the park with some friends on Saturday morning. It was FREEZING (39 degrees when we got there at 10 AM- that is COLD for us!) and the playground we went to (the most popular one in the city) was DESERTED. On a Saturday. Never seen it like that! Just goes to show you- us Californians are weak. ;)
Saturday afternoon, Zack and I got to get away just us two for a little date night! It was much needed after our sick few past weeks, just the break we needed to refresh and rejuvenate. We stopped by our new home and checked on the progress (floors are in now, woo!), had a slow coffee date, walked around IKEA (note: don’t go to Ikea on a Saturday lol) and ended the night at one of our favorite spots for dinner (Sellands!). We took our time, we relaxed, we enjoyed being US, it was beautiful.
Love this man of mine so so much.
Here’s to getting out of this fog of sickness and feeling like a normal person again! WOO.
