BOSTON – MARCH 13, 2018 – Bullhorn®, the cloud computing company that helps staffing and recruiting organizations transform their businesses, today announced that it has acquired Talent Rover and Jobscience, two of the leading providers of recruitment software built on the Salesforce platform. Terms of the transaction will not be disclosed. Following Bullhorn’s recent acquisition of the Salesforce-powered Connexys to serve customers in Europe, Talent Rover and Jobscience will help Bullhorn further its investments to serve those companies that have made a commitment to the Salesforce ecosystem in North America and the rest of the world. Furthermore, the additional resources afforded by Connexys, Talent Rover, and Jobscience will allow Bullhorn to accelerate the development and innovation of front and middle office capabilities for the world’s leading staffing and recruiting firms.
As many global enterprise staffing and recruiting firms look to rapidly scale their operations while also adapting to changing candidate preferences and evolving customer needs, they’re faced with unprecedented challenges in advancing their candidate-to-cash business processes. To support customers in navigating through this complex environment, Bullhorn has always offered an open ecosystem approach, evidenced by the largest staffing-centric Marketplace with more than 100 pre-integrated partners. Now, with a full range of Salesforce offerings in addition to Bullhorn’s award-winning platform, the company expands the choice of customer options for improving business operations. Bullhorn will continue to support and advance all three Salesforce-powered applications – Talent Rover, Jobscience, and Connexys – and, over time, Bullhorn will deliver new and expanded capabilities as part of the company’s Salesforce offerings, including best-of-breed VMS integration and middle office solutions.
“Our experience with Connexys has demonstrated that we have an incredible opportunity to partner with Salesforce as we look to serve companies embracing the Salesforce platform and ecosystem,” said Art Papas, Bullhorn’s founder and CEO. “With these acquisitions, we are further expanding our long-standing commitment to an open ecosystem, and the additions of Talent Rover and Jobscience to the Bullhorn family will allow us to continue to deliver solutions that best fit our customers’ needs, whether deployed on the Salesforce or the Bullhorn platform.”
“Furthermore, we’re making a major investment to deliver the most advanced recruitment and staffing software solutions in the market to our global enterprise customers,” Papas added. “Talent Rover and Jobscience have built fantastic businesses, and we’re looking forward to working with them to deliver leading-edge solutions to meet the evolving business needs of the enterprise.”
“We’re excited to work with Bullhorn and Salesforce to deliver a unique offering that enables our branch offices worldwide to engage more fully with candidates and clients,” said Rob James, chief information officer of Adecco. “Further, as we look to the future, we believe there’s a big opportunity for innovation on the platform, which will transform the way we serve our customers and better support the candidate journey.”
Founded in 2012, Talent Rover is a fast-growing, leading provider of global recruitment software powered by the Salesforce platform with a number of marquee enterprise customers. In the business world, time is often equated with money. This is literally the case when it comes to the time it takes companies to fill open positions. According to the 2016 Human Capital Report published by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), it takes an average of 42 days to fill an open position, which costs a company lost revenue and lost productivity for each day a position is unfilled.
When calculating the impact this makes in the American workforce, a study from the Center for American Progress (CAP) revealed the average costs to fill an open position, which varies by salary:
16% of annual salary for jobs earning under $30,000 a year
20% of annual salary for midrange positions earning between $30,000 to $50,000 annually
Up to 213% of annual salary for advanced executive positions.
Because the revenue lost by unfilled positions is substantial, it’s valuable for companies to focus on improving the speed of their hiring process. Although companies have many factors that influence their time to hire, one factor is universal—the speed that a candidate can be vetted for an open position. An efficient background screening process can reduce hiring bottlenecks, freeing up time and resources for other initiatives.
For example, consider the following scenario. If a company loses $6,000 to fill a position with a $30,000 annual salary, reducing the time to hire, even by only two days, could lead to substantial annual savings for the company. For this position, reducing the time to hire by two days will save $285.71 per hire.
If your company hires 300 people a year at $30,000, you could save $85,713 annually.
With higher salaries, these savings will be even more substantial.
WHAT COULD YOU INVEST IN?
With improved savings from faster background screenings, what could your company invest in?
A skilled background screening company recognizes how improving the time to hire allows your company to save money, enabling you to invest in other initiatives and help your company grow.
Through proprietary technology, you can make pre-employment screening solutions quickly and accurately vet candidates. Increased efficiency from integration with your HR software buys you more time to focus on recruitment and retention.

It’s a single system that is not only convenient, but will save users valuable time, and result in higher profitability.

How many times have you said to yourself, “there just aren’t enough hours in the day”? In an industry that moves as fast as talent recruitment, lack of time is a real problem. Recruiters are spread so thin that 75% of applicants never receive a response after submitting a resume. Something’s got to give.
Imagine you hire someone to help you with the most cumbersome part of the recruitment process: matching candidates to jobs. Imagine you arrive at your desk around 9am, put that coffee down, and log into your computer, where hundreds of applicants are already scored, ranked, matched for the open positions you must fill. Instead of spending hours of your day scanning resumes and comparing them to job descriptions, the work is already done when you arrive at the office. Now, you’re ready to hit the ground running and start connecting with the best applicants.
Too Good to Be True?
While this scenario may seem like a dream, technology has advanced, creating new solutions to make it a reality. Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer just a buzzword; it’s an opportunity for businesses to minimize the amount of time spent on mundane, rote tasks so you can focus on more meaningful work.
Adoption of AI is at an early stage, so it’s no wonder that many are skeptical of its potential. Artificial intelligence is sometimes painted as a threat, assuming that it will make humans obsolete. But the truth is, there is only so much an intelligent agent can do. Low-value add tasks can be automated, but AI is no substitute for recruiters, an inherently human profession.
It’s time to get back to the most rewarding part of your job. The people.
Automate the Grind
Let’s face it: the most time consuming aspect of your job isn’t the reason you became a recruiter. Most talent acquisition employees spend roughly 55% of their time resume matching, getting buried in resumes and job descriptions. Recruiting is a fast-paced business, and sometimes the quality of your recommendations suffers because there just isn’t enough time to dive into every person’s background thoroughly enough. Leveraging AI to automate this process gives you crucial time in your day back, so you can focus on making the successful placements.
Ensuring a great candidate experience and achieving those placements more quickly is the name of the game. Understanding a candidate’s skills and background on paper is one thing, but meeting candidates in person and having a genuine conversation is the best way to determine an appropriate placement. When AI handles the tedious tasks and identifies the best people, you have more time to nurture your candidates, making them feel valued and improving their experience with you and your company.
An AI-powered system, such as Jobscience, helps you become more proactive. With more time in your day, you can reach out to candidates before they contact you, asking for an update. The best recruiters make their candidates feel like their job search isn’t an afterthought.
Artificial intelligence is presenting recruiters with an opportunity to revolutionize the way we hire. AI takes over the monotonous tasks and give you the time you need to focus on helping people find their perfect match. Engaging candidates and building meaningful relationships with them is what sets you apart from the competition. The more time you spend building relationships with applicants, the more likely you are to place them in the right position at the right organization.
