Valid

Our vision is “a movement of global-minded churches reproducing healthy disciples, leaders, and congregations.” Our dream is “Churches praying for, contributing to, and supporting an ever-increasing number of church plants to reach people with the Gospel, blessing the communities and churches where they are located.” And we want to invite YOU to be a part of both!

Four Strategic Ways to Help us Multiply Churches:
  1. Invite every IBC church into church multiplication. There is a place for every IBC church to participate in church multiplication. Actually, most churches are already participating with their prayers and cooperative giving. Each church’s prayer and financial support is invaluable to our church planting efforts. Several of our churches are participating on our LEAD teams. LEAD teams are teams of leaders from various churches who work together on a regular basis to see new churches planted. We want and need more IBC churches participating on our LEAD teams. We also want to see more LEAD teams established to focus more specifically on particular geographical areas.  Your part?  Talk to the LEAD Team in your area about participating.
  2.  Support every IBC church with their multiplication goals. Through our LEAD teams and other IBC leadership, we want to come alongside of our churches to help them achieve their personal multiplication goals. Wherever your church is in the multiplication process, we want to support your efforts. It may be that your church hasn’t even begun to seriously consider planting a church…we can help you determine your first steps. Maybe you’re trying to figure out the location…we can help you. Maybe you’re trying to discover a planter…we can help you. Wherever you’re at in the process, we are here for you and want to support you.  Your part?  Invite one of our Church Multiplication leaders to visit your church so we can hear your heart and ideas about multiplying your church.
  3. Celebrate all multiplication efforts. Multiplying disciples, multiplying leaders, and multiplying congregations are all interrelated. Each is dependent on the other two, necessary for the other two, or the intended outcome of the other two. We want to hear about your multiplication efforts. We want to celebrate your multiplication efforts!  Your part?  Let us know! Tell us about your efforts. Tell us about your successes. Tell us how God is blessing your multiplication.
  4.  Trust and follow the Spirit. We believe there are an infinite number of models and strategies and approaches to church planting. The one thing that must be the same with every church planting effort is hearing from God and following the direction of His Spirit. We must, above all other things, trust and follow the Spirit of God.  Your part?  Ask God about your church planting a new church. Invite the rest of your IBC family to join you in your specific prayers.
Dreams and Visions Become Reality

God is on the move! In the last seven years the IBC has seen nine new churches planted (the previous seven years only one church had been planted). Four churches were planted just last year! We believe there is a great movement of God among our international communities. We want to be a part of it! We want every IBC church to be a part of it!

We will be conducting a Church Planter Assessment in Naples, Italy, on 24-25 October 2019. Please put this date on your calendar!

What is an Assessment Center?

It is an intensive two-day event staffed by trained assessors to encourage and observe church planting candidates. Candidates have the opportunity to preach, cast vision, work in team settings, and meet with counselors and assessors to prepare for the potential role as a church planter. Assessors provide a personalized and thorough assessment of church planting candidates.

Why Assess Church Planters?

The purpose of assessment is to reduce risk and increase church planting success. We use assessment to figure out each individual’s capacity to be the lead pastor on a planting team. (Learn more about Assessment Centers here.)

If you know of someone in Europe who may be a potential church planter be contact us here. If you’re in Europe and interested in planting a church with us fill out this form.

During December, we’ll provide a short reflection to help you anticipate Christmas. Join us as we observe advent and wait for our Savior’s birth.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  (John 8:12)

CHRIST is the reason for this season. Tomorrow is Christmas, a day of gifts and love and laughter. We do all this because of the baby Jesus, the greatest gift of all. For 2,000 years, saints through the ages have celebrated Emmanuel, God-with-us, and we join with believers all over the world in celebrating Christ’s birth. Let us walk together in HOPE, PEACE, LOVE, and JOY in the light of God that shines in Christ.

During December, we’ll provide a short reflection to help you anticipate Christmas. Join us as we observe advent and wait for our Savior’s birth.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:8-11)

Advent is a season of JOY. May we too sense the excitement in the air. May we feel joy in our lives and share it with those around us. Help us to have the joy that does not depend upon earthly happiness, but instead depends upon our gracious God.

During December, we’ll provide a short reflection to help you anticipate Christmas. Join us as we observe advent and wait for our Savior’s birth.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” (1 John 4:9-12 – NIV)

Advent is a season of LOVE. We remember that God came to us in love through Jesus Christ. We look forward to celebrating his birthday with a new sense of love for each other. “Let us love one another, for love is of God.”

During December, we’ll provide a short reflection to help you anticipate Christmas. Join us as we observe advent and wait for our Savior’s birth.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  (Isa. 9:6)

Advent is a season of PEACE. We thank our eternal God for sending the Prince of Peace into our world and offering us peace. May we also be givers of peace.

During December, we’ll provide a short reflection to help you anticipate Christmas. Join us as we observe advent and wait for our Savior’s birth.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. (Isa. 7:14)”

We come into the advent season with HOPE. We come getting ready for the gift – Immanuel…God with us.  We come preparing to celebrate Christ’s first coming…His birth. To celebrate Christmas is to hope, to remember, and to prepare for something great to happen.  May we be a people of hope in our world.

“Every Church Planting Churches” was the theme of our Fall MULTIPLY Conference held in Madrid Spain on 1 November following the IBC annual convention meeting. Fifty-four leaders from 21 of our churches joined the “multiplication conversation.”

The energy was high!  The excitement is growing! More and more IBC leaders and churches are embracing the heart of God for church multiplication. Conference attendees heard exciting stories about how God is opening doors and providing resources to plant new churches. We heard exciting news about our young churches in Panama City and Rome and about our brand new churches in Paris, Bonn, London, and Vicenza! We also heard from several of our churches that are being stirred by God to plant new churches in their cities.

Multiplication Movement

During the conference we worked to unpack the concept of just what a church multiplication movement is, what it might look like, what is God’s part and what is ours. There was tremendous insight and great ideas exchanged. Every attendee from every church brought something to the table. There was a huge amount of enthusiasm as we considered such a movement of God in and through our churches.  We believe that a church multiplication movement is on the horizon!

We have seen success (God’s blessings) in recent years with our collaborative strategies employed by our LEAD Teams. Our LEAD Teams (teams of leaders from several churches in a geographic area) have worked together to find the right planter and the right place and bring them together to see a new church started. We are now adding to that strategy a new supportive strategy where our LEAD Teams will come along side an IBC church to support that church in planting a new church.  We believe that this is where we will see churches planting churches that plant churches. We believe that this is where we will see us move from “adding” churches to “multiplying” churches.

New IBC Churches

During the conference we celebrated what God has done and is doing.  The following new IBC churches were started in the past seven years.

  1. Converge International Fellowship in Darmstadt Germany
  2. Lifebridge International Church in Panama City Panama
  3. Tamarindo Church in Tamarindo Costa Rica
  4. Rome International Church in Rome Italy
  5. Waypoint Christian Fellowship in Kaiserslautern Germany
  6. GLACE Community Church in Vicenza Italy
  7. International Baptist Church in Bonn Germany
  8. Emmanuel International Church in Paris France
  9. Multination Church in London England

Praise God for nine new churches in seven years! Nine new churches is a great start!

We want…we need every IBC church engaged in planting churches and the churches they plant planting churches…then we will have joined God in a movement reaching the nations around the world.

2019 Strategic Objectives

We are moving into 2019 with the following strategic objectives.

  • Invite every IBC Church into Church Multiplication
  • Support every IBC Church with their Multiplication Goals
  • Celebrate all Multiplication Efforts
  • Trust and follow the Spirit
MULTIPLY Conference Purpose

The purpose of the conference is to invite every IBC church into the conversation about multiplying English-language international churches around the world. The conference is a venue for discussing the many facets of international church planting, generate ideas and discover opportunities to inform our church multiplication efforts.

(This is part of the 31 Days of Prayer for Multiplying Disciples, Leaders, and Churches series. Read each day’s prayer focus here.)

Personal leadership is the ability to develop and utilize your positive leadership traits to guide the direction of your life instead of letting time and chance determine your course…While personal leadership develops from the inside out, its effects are felt not only by you and your family, but also by others in your community and workplace.”

Today we’re praying for God to raise up leaders within our churches. These leaders can support their pastors and lead small groups and other ministries. Most importantly, they shoulder the vision of reaching their cities.

According to Greg L. Thomas, the following qualities define personal leadership:

  • Vision
  • Self-discipline
  • Spirituality
  • Integrity
  • Honesty
  • Open-communication
  • Kindness
  • Legacy-building

You can read more about these qualities here.

How to Pray

Join with us in prayer today that:

  • God would raise up leaders within our churches.
  • He would help you personally develop as a leader.
  • That you and those you attend church with would see your part in the Great Commission.
  • God would give you strength to take up your cross.
