It has been an amazing adventure for us at LIB. We have had the pleasure to participate for the second year in a row and it just gets better and better. It has truly grown not just as a festival but as a community in which we now consider family. It’s a life changing festival for many of the attendees at this wonderland located at Buena Vista Lake, California. We consider this a gathering of multi-dimensional expression from some extraordinary artists. LIB stays true to its essence of being a magical home away from home. As festival goers meandered around this new landscape they encountered music in every junction, art and interactive installations. There were endless opportunities for relaxation, education, exercise and healing if your body was calling for it. We were eager to participate in the conversations and ceremonies going on at the Beacon stage and the surrounding Compass area. Our personal favorite was mycologist, Paul Stamets who we got to experience twice, the second time to a full house at the Beacon stage. Credit to the Do Lab for their ability to balance a star-studded musical lineup, while also spreading the light of scientists, spiritual teachers, indigenous leaders and more. By Sunday night it was hard not to feel like you were in a fairy tale you never wanted to end. As expected, we left Lighting in a Bottle feeling inspired and with a belief that our dreams are within our grasp. What a beautiful reminder that we can be the change we want to see in the world.

If you have an eclectic taste in music like us, you’re going to love the lineup at this years Lightning in a Bottle! There are so many unbelievable acts we can’t pick a favorite, but there’s a couple you just can’t miss. Get into the rhythm of things on Friday with one of the best DJ collectives, Soulection. As the clock strikes midnight you’ll have some tough decisions to make, Flying Lotus, DJ Koze and Polish Ambassador all have over lapping sets. It’s not our place to insist you go see one over the other, you can’t go wrong with any these 3 scintillating musicians. Saturday, the party starts a little earlier with a must see set by Masego, but don’t go too far after his set as you should come back to checkout Santigold. Sunday might be our favorite day! There’s just a little bit of everything. Jam out with Khrugabin and Toro Y Moi as they bring out there full bands for the performance, but get ready to keep dancing as Disclosure, Bedouin and Clozee mix the night away! Of course there are many more talented musical artists on this lineup that we didn’t mention, don’t rule them out and let the music take you exactly where you need to be.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is a 63-acre nonprofit zoo located in Tampa, Florida.

My trip was very educational. The staff has extensive knowledge of the animals and are extremely excited to share it. The first thing I went to look at were the primates and as you can see below this one is huge.

I joined in on the birds of prey show. The trainers use positive reinforcement to teach their animals. These birds actually choose to come out and perform for us.

Below are some beautiful birds with vibrant multi-coloured feathers I found throughout the park.

My favorite animal is the penguin and I got to get up close and personal with this one.

I was most entertained by the playful meerkats.

The natural habitat created for the reptiles gave them plenty of space to move about freely.

The Clouded leopard is one of the most talented climbers. Captive they have been observed to climb down vertical tree trunks head first, and hang on to branches with their hind paws bent around branchings of tree limbs.

There are animal interactions all over the park, you can feed a stingray, enjoy a lorikeet feeding or have a chat with a trainer about a specific animal they bring out.

It was a hot day in Central Florida and this bear had the right idea.

There are five species of rhino and Lowry is home to two of them.

I really wanted to be a part of the Koala encounter, but unfortunately it was sold out as they only have seven spots. I chose to do a Rhino feeding and what a fun time I had. This was an enjoyable trip and I would love to visit again.
