Fact: most of us only learn First Aid or CPR because we have to; a compulsory work or study requirement, for example. However, just like learning martial arts to protect yourself, family or loved ones from harm, every man should learn First Aid for the very same reason.

Below are 3 reasons you should learn First Aid/CPR.

1. Save A Loved One’s Life

Picture this: you’re hiking in the Australian outback and one of the many venomous snakes that patrol the dense shrubs, rockeries, and cliff faces bites a loved one. What would you do?

(a) Scream like a bitch and assume the fetal position

(b) Leave them to die

(c)  Apply an immobilization bandage (always carry a First Aid kit on hiking trips) and keep the patient calm until medical help arrives

If you answered C give yourself an upper cut.

Here’s one closer to home: you’re out on the town and your mate or partner passes out. What do you do?

As a man one of our core reasons for existing is the role of Protector = our family, loved ones, community, and so on.  I’m repeating myself here but I think it’s important to get this point across. Knowing what to do when your wife, girlfriend, family, or any one close to you requires medical assistance should be a ‘no-brainer.’  As a father, uncle, mate, co-worker, and active community member I am able to act when someone close to me has had an accident or taken a turn for the worse (stroke, heart attack) because I am trained to act in emergency.

Note: I keep a First Aid kit in the home as well as in the car.

2. A Boost of Self- Confidence

Being trained in First Aid has in turn has boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem.  One of the core components in becoming a better man is investing yourself, upgrading your life, and having a deep sense of power – the power to act, perform, and remain in control in a crisis. Knowing you have the skills to potentially save a life of someone you care for caters for all of that and then some.

3. Improve Job Prospects

Last but certainly not least is improved job prospects.  By law (here in Australia*) every employer must have a least one employee qualified in First Aid.  Thus, having a First Aid qualification can set you apart from other candidates when applying for a job, and in some cases, land you a promotion.

Cost of qualification: A hundred bucks or so

Time to complete: Half a day, give or take

Having the skills to save the life of a loved one: Priceless.

What other reasons would you list?

  Did You Know?

Many historians credit the ancient Greeks and Romans for ‘inventing’ First Aid. and that Robert Wood Johnson, founder of Johnson & Johnson, is widely credited as the ‘inventor’ of the First Aid Kit.

As the story goes, Johnson struck up a conversation with the chief surgeon of the Denver Rio Grande Railway, who mentioned that workers laying the track were always getting injured, due to the nature of the work.  Emergencies more often than not became critical as medical help was too far away at the time.  So Johnson had the idea to package some of the products Johnson & Johnson made – sterile gauze, bandages and dressings – in boxes.  Those boxes could be kept with the workers so that, if they were injured, they could be treated and stabilized until they could reach more comprehensive medical help (source Kilimerhouse.com).

True or False

The ‘key aim’ of First Aid is to

  1. Preserve life, Prevent further harm, Promote recovery?
  2. Make an annual profit at all costs?
  3. To remain first aid and not second aid at all times?

If I perform CPR on someone and injure them am I liable?

In most cases, given you exercised reasonable care and skill, you are not liable for causing injury to the patient.  N.B: This is general consensus and not legal advice. For further information on this topic I recommend the following article Legal Issues In First Aid

How often should I update my First Aid kit?

Some creams, ointments, sterile patches, etc.  have expiration dates, so it is recommended you conduct routine maintenance regularly.

Investing and building a portfolio can be an overwhelming sight.  “Invest here, invest there, do this, don’t do that, here’s what an ideal portfolio should look like….”  You gotta ask yourself, is it really worth the effort? After all, you can’t spend that money when you’re dead and buried, right?

Finance writer Nathan Young says investing and building a portfolio is absolutely worth the effort. In this article he gives an example of a good place to start investing for ‘newbies’, and explains how investing and building a portfolio is doable if you take your time, make informed decisions, and put in the work.

Investing can be looked at as putting your hard earned money to work. You wouldn’t want your money sitting at a bank earning no interest. Putting your money in investments allows it to grow and build you wealth.

Contributing to your investments early in life will work heavily in your favor because you have the asset of time on your side. Time will allow your earnings to compound year over year for 40 years or more. Not only will this provide for you in retirement, but also it can be passed down to your children and so on.

Beyond that, investing can be fun and exciting. The market is always changing and there is always money to be made. As the saying goes, bulls make money, bears make money, and pigs get slaughtered. Whatever you do, do not get greedy when investing, as you will lose more than you gain.

How to Start

After you have decided to start investing, it is important to look at where you want to put your funds. A good place to begin is with your salary. For the sake of this article we’ll look at how this works in USA.  Typically, there are 401Ks, IRAs, and traditional brokerage accounts. Starting with the 401K this is offered through an employer and uses pre-tax dollars. On top of that, many companies will match up to a certain percent, which is essentially free money. 401Ks and superannuation have a list of funds you can pick from to invest your money, the draw back is you are very limited in what you can invest in.

Secondly, there is an IRA or individual retirement account. This is an investing vehicle that uses pre-tax dollars as well, but can be opened outside of your employer. Utilizing an IRA allows you a wider range of investment options and abilities. However, you will want to note the contribution limits for an IRA versus a 401K. Once you meet the limit for the year, you have to wait until the next tax year to invest.

Lastly, there is the traditional brokerage account. You have free reign to invest in just about anything, using post tax dollars. The difference here besides no contribution limits are the tax consequences. If you purchase and sell and equity at a profit within a year, you have to pay capital gains tax. Anything longer than a year, you will pay a long-term investment tax. Between all three, utilizing the 401K or IRA first would be the most effective in saving for retirement and building wealth.

What to Invest In

Understanding what to invest in can be as complicated or as simple as you would like it to be. However, statistics have proven passive investing into index funds tends to work among the best. Passive investing is where you steadily invest into a mutual fund or equity and hold the position for long periods of time.

Mutual funds are the most popular investment and essentially all you need to keep it simple. If you choose to go the mutual fund route, look for index funds that track the broader market and are inexpensive. The expense ratio should be as low as you can possible find it without compromising the integrity of your investment.

Another avenue you can look into are Exchange Traded Funds or ETFs for short. These work similar to mutual funds, but offer quicker liquidity if you need to raise capital. Also, ETF’s work differently on a fundamental level in how the fund is structured and operates.

Lastly, there are traditional equities that include shares of Apple, Amazon, and so on. Investing in companies can yield a higher return, but you take on greater risk such as company specific risk, sector risk, and market risk. It is important to analyze a company’s financials and outlook before investing. Mutual funds are open to the same risks, but it is diversified over several hundred stocks on average.

Bonds, Stocks and Bonds

Other items to keep in mind include stocks and bonds. These are simple securities that are backed by the credit of a company or our own government. Bonds provide a safer investment but are not risk free. Many people use these as a hedge against risk in a portfolio. Be sure you are investing with money you can stand to lose and remember, building wealth takes time and will not happen overnight. Find what works best for your current situation and stick with it.

What would you do if you lost your father, job, and wife one after the other? Ben Vitale quit living and nearly quit life altogether. He refers to this dark period in his life as ‘winning the trifecta of loss.’  “Some people say I’m being facetious, laughing it off, or not being honest with my feelings…hardly. It was my way of dealing with the pain in the beginning when all I wanted to do was stay in bed and fade to black.”

Ben didn’t know if he’d ever recover from those dark days.  But through the love and support of his children, his friends never giving up on him, his Men’s group, and dedication to fitness, he did. And now he is living life on his terms, and to the full. Here’s his story.

What’s The Point?

Not long after I’d won the trifecta of loss a mate gave me some work to help me out until I got back on my feet.  At first I couldn’t be stuffed, but I forced myself to get up every morning as I needed the money.  Besides, he’s a pretty good kick boxer and would’ve kicked my ass if I didn’t.

To keep everyone happy and off my back I gave the impression things were slowly getting back to normal, but on the inside I was struggling. The palpitations, tightness in the chest, sleepless nights, ‘bad’ thoughts, and that ‘squirmy’ feeling in my gut wouldn’t go away.  Added to that was the stress and pressures of being a single dad to two head strong children.  I asked myself over and over ‘what’s the point of going on?’

But I had to.  If not for myself, for my kids.  “You can do it, daddy.  You’re the best,” they kept telling me.

I swore I’d always be there for them, no matter what. They’d been through so much already with the loss of their mother and their was no way in hell I was going to let them see me roll over and die.

Man Up

I spent a few weeks jotting down my thoughts and asking the question: what vocation would make me satisfied and fulfilled? While I waited for the answer I focused on getting myself back in shape, mentally first. I started talking about my trifecta of loss with a trained professional, and other men in a Men’s group.  A lot of men don’t or won’t talk about their emotional pain, but I drew energy from doing this. Being open and honest with myself and others in a non-judgmental, supportive, and nurturing environment was huge in helping me overcome what I was going through. If life is a struggle for you at this time I recommend giving this a go.

While writing this post I read Michael’s interview with Vishnu’s Virtues, Revel in The Dark To Find The Light. It’s an open an honest account of how he found meaning in his darkest hour, and I found it incredibly inspiring.

A book I found invaluable during my darkest hour was When A Man Faces Grief.  It’s a straight talking foray into how to help yourself or a mate in time of need.

Now back to what’d make me satisfied and fulfilled. I had previously served 10 years in the Army and still had a lot of friends serving so was able to pick up some work as a Reservist close to home.  It wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, but it gave it meaning at a time when I needed it most, and I enjoyed the discipline and structure.  It was better than digging ditches every day, anyway (sorry Jimbo!).

I had something meaningful to do while I worked out what wanted to do.

My Life’s Calling

I got the call when I was running through rugby drills with my kids at the local park. “Hey, dad this is so cool. We’re having so much fun, and you are so good at this!” my youngest cheered. “That’s it. This is what I want to do. How can I turn this into a business?”  With the backing of my dad’s inheritance, support from those closet to me, and the advice of a good small business coach, I started my business. I was living the dream teaching children rugby skills, fitness, nutrition, and recovery tips, and goal setting techniques. Within months I was in high demand with schools and non-profit organisations across the state and raking it in.

This gave me the freedom to do the things I enjoyed, and afforded me the opportunity to dictate my own wage. More importantly, it gave me ample time to spend with my kids, such as walking them to school and picking them up – something I could never do before- and because I was my own boss, I could shut up shop early and attend their school concerts and events.

For the first time in a long time I was enjoying life and being a dad again.

The Missing Piece In The Puzzle

The last thing missing was my fitness and looking after myself. I have been sporty and fit all my life, but when I left the Army I became a bit chubby. Eating fast foods, and sleeping most of the day quickly turned that into a whole of chubby.

As the owner of a fitness business, I had to strip the fat and get back into shape quick sticks.  What could help me do that? I asked myself. Crossfit of course. I found Crossfit when I first met my wife and remembered how much I loved it, so it was a no-brainer for me to take it up again.

Apart from kicking my ass physically, Crossfit also helped keep my mental health on point, as it is very inclusive and provides a community based atmosphere – I made numerous new friends with a shared love of fitness, but more importantly, ones I could open up to whenever I felt down. The endorphin rush of fitness is something that you are unable to get from many other things, and it definitely helped me claw out of the hole I was in.

Final Thoughts

I would like to end this post with a quote from Rocky Balboa. This quote sums up my journey to the letter, but it’s much more than that – it’s about having the guts to be honest with your feelings, talking about them, and finding meaning in life’s setbacks:

The world ain’t all sunshine’s and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much can you take and keep moving forward? That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, her or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!

When I say martial arts what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Learning how to defend yourself and your loved ones, no doubt. Perhaps you’d also add physical fitness, focus, and self-discipline. I bet very few of you said learning form, or Kata.

Indeed, when most students begin their journey in the martial arts learning Kata is back of mind. While it doesn’t have the same fanfare as a roundhouse kick, Kata is far more than a grading requirement. Practicing Kata over and over benefits our physical, mental and spiritual well-being in more ways than one. From a self defense point of view it sharpens and fine tunes the exponent’s skill set, and develops muscle memory so they can instinctively control a combative situation, should it arise. From a psychological point of view it helps the student restore balance and regain control. I see it as meditation ‘on wheels.’ On a spiritual level it’s a way for today’s warrior to connect with those that went before them.

In this post James Kearn walks us through the benefits of Kata, and gives 4.5 reasons why every man should study it, whether they practice martial arts or not.

What Is Kata?

You’ve probably seen it performed in many martial arts movies and thought that it was some mystical pre-fight ritual.

Hollywood has given it some notoriety, too – think Bruce Lee’s epic fight with Chuck Norris in Return of The Dragon, or to a lesser extent the Karate Kid movies. But Kata is far from a movie creation, as Michael points out in the intro.

Interestingly enough, Kata began in the 11th century as a way for Okinawan warriors to pass their information about fighting on to the next generation, which is pretty cool, if you ask me.

In a nutshell, Kata is a technique that requires the practitioner to visualize an opponent or combatant was standing in front of them.  Punches are executed from various angles and stances with precision and power.  Kiai – a short shout- is used for strength and power, and to deter or startle the opponent. For the martial artist, perfecting Kata can take a lifetime, as it requires extreme focus, dedication, correct breathing techniques, and above all else, persistence.

So You Don’t Train In A Martial Art?

It’s pretty easy to see how Kata can help a martial artist, but what if you don’t train in a martial art?  Yes, Kata can benefit you too. Here’s how:

A note: I studied Kata before I started Karate and it definitely helped me advanced faster than those who hadn’t because I had prior knowledge and understanding -Ed

  1. Dedication– Anything that demands such adherence to master undoubtedly requires incredible levels of commitment and focus. This can carry over into other aspects of your life.  It may be becoming a better employee, family man, or friend.  You will certainly kick-start your self-growth and personal development.
  2.  Physical Fitness– You won’t find too many grossly out of shape men performing Katas. Kata can be modified to cause significant isometric contractions in your muscles.  They can also be performed for quite a long time, increasing your overall endurance.  Focus on your mind-muscle connection and concentrate on your breathing
  3. Spirituality– On this level martial artists use Kata as a way to reflect on the practitioners who went before them. You could use it for self-reflection and self-evaluation, a time to reconnect with yourself without the distraction of phones, alarms, or other outside noises.
  4. Confidence– Martial artists performing form in a group need to be confident in their ability. Let’s face it, no one wants to be the only person messing up the movements.  The same applies to performing it by yourself.

4.5. Improves Mental Health: Michael mentioned to me that Kata, along with his own Cometh The Man Challenges, helped him in his battle against depression and anxiety. He said every time he felt depressed or anxious he would do Kata and instantly felt better and more at ease.  How cool is that!

Balance Is Key

As a non-martial artist chances are you won’t execute Kata as good as a trained one, but that’s neither here nor there in this exercise.  Besides, like anything, the more you practice, the more proficient you become, and your confidence increases likewise.

Imagine performing a perfectly executed Kata in your office during a lunch break.  Your self-confidence and zest to take on complex project is palpable and reinvigorates your weary coworkers (sure thing, James. But I see what you’re getting at – Ed).

Kata is much more than a warm-up before martial arts class: it’s an important and integral aspect of martial arts history and tradition, and a technique that improves your self defense skills. And as Michael -and no doubt a host of others- testifies it has the power to calm the mind and restore balance.

Martial artist or not, every man can become a better man by studying Kata.  It may even inspire you to start your own martial arts journey.

Krav Maga is the official fighting system of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) that is becoming increasingly popular with police, military and the public at large.  Its name alone has a certain ring to it that says—tread lightly.

The ability to effectively defend yourself and your family should make Krav Maga appealing  to any man.  When you think of the benefits of training in Krav Maga, you will immediately think of self-defense, and rightfully so, but is it a martial art or just glorified thuggery?

Some say it is martial art, while others say it’s not. In this post James Kearns looks at both sides of the argument and gives four reasons why every man should take up Krav Maga regardless.

The Origins Of Krav

I would like to begin this post by giving a brief overview the origins of Krav Maga. The name itself derives from the Hebrew ‘contact combat.’  In the 1930s Ime Lichtenfeld  combined boxing and wrestling techniques with strikes and blocks from Karate and other martial arts and thus came up with the system we know today.  Later on Ime found his way to Israel and begin teaching soldiers these self-defense techniques.

It is said Ime developed his unique self defense techniques over a 20 year period, incorporating other martial arts systems, such as techniques used in Jujitsu and Aikido, along the way.  During this time he also began adapting Krav Maga for everyday situations – the ability to protect yourself in a street fight.

Two things that set Krav apart from other self-dense systems is its ‘keep it simple stupid’ philosophy, and simultaneous block and strike maneuvers.

Is Krav Maga A Martial Art?

Those that train in Krav universally agree it is. Here’s why:

  • Most schools have a belt grading system like traditional martial arts, such as Karate and Aikido
  • The student learns traditional martial arts techniques, blocks and strikes from Karate, Kung Fu, Aikido, Judo, Jujitsu, and so on
  • It toughens the mind and prepares the body for survival
  • Whilst the system is relatively easy to learn, mastering the techniques demands years of practice, focus, and self-discipline, attributes we associate with traditional martial arts

Those who say Krav isn’t a martial art typically cite the following:

  • No forms or Kata
  • The student doesn’t have to wear a Gi
  • It emphasizes aggression and a strike first principle
  • It’s void of any spiritual customs found in traditional martial arts
  • It is a non-competitive sport
  • Some schools use a patch grading system rather than a belt grading system

As a student of Krav Maga I naturally argue it is a martial art, but as you can see above, both sides have merit for and against.  One thing both sides agree on is Krav is an effective fighting system and one that may very well save your life.

Here are my top four reasons why you should take it up straight away:

Physical Benefits

Krav Maga has made a significant mark on men’s fitness just recently.  One of the most obvious byproducts of training is the physical benefits you will receive.  After training for an hour you will realize how physically demanding throwing strikes, knees, elbows, and kicks can be.

To be the most effective practitioner that you can be will require you to push the pace during training.  The last thing you want is to lose the fight because you became too exhausted.

Side note: I really enjoyed Michael’s post on how Krav Maga saved his life and added years to it – I’m being biased, but it’s a great read because it gives a first hand account of how Krav shapes you mentally and physically, and one you must check out (love your work, James! – Ed.)

Social Benefits

Training at a Krav Maga school is far from a meet-and-greet at the country club, but it is definitely a place where men socialize.  It is a great place for like-minded men, with different backgrounds, to get acquainted and socialize with each other.

More often than not these social interactions become mutually beneficial business opportunities as well.  If you need a landscaper, contractor, or personal trainer, there’s a good chance that you train with one.

Mental Benefits

Staying focused under pressure, remaining disciplined to your training, and always thinking of the next move takes mental toughness.  Unfortunately, the average man does not possess mental toughness, but it can be learned, and Krav Maga demands it.

Focusing on the task-at-hand is important for any job, but when the task is defending you or a loved one, it becomes even more important.  The mental focus and toughness that can be developed through Krav Maga can significantly affect all aspects of your life.

Spiritual Benefits

While Krav Maga may not be as ceremonial as other martial arts, for example the student isn’t required to wear a GI or learn Kata, there is definitely a spiritual connection that most men will experience.  The art will require you to control your emotions during an altercation.  When presented with a combative situation, a longtime practitioner will find peace and clarity in the situation.  He won’t be concerned with the attack—just his focus.

In Summary

Krav Maga is without doubt an elite, highly effective, self-defense system, whether you see it as a martial art or otherwise.  Becoming a practitioner boosts testosterone, sharpens your physical and mental fitness, builds confidence and self-esteem, and has many social and spiritual benefits that extend outside of the academy.

So what are you waiting for: find your nearest Krav Maga school and take that free class today!

Everywhere I go I see and hear men struggling to hit the sweet spot with women i.e communicating effectively. Some men are worse than others. Some are so bad I feel like walking over to them and punching them in the face.

Seriously.

But I don’t because I was once that guy. Yes, it’s true.  Once upon a time I had no idea  how to hit the sweet spot with women. So how did I get better?

  1. Accepted I needed improvement in this area
  2. Applied what I learned and made the necessary changes
  3. Killed my inner nice guy

A Note: I didn’t make the changes in my life to become more attractive to women. I made them to create a compelling life and lifestyle for myself. This naturally made me more attractive to women.

Read that last sentence again.

What A Girl Wants

I wish I knew, but I don’t have a clue -what man does?  Even the father of modern psychology, Sigmund Freud couldn’t work out what women want:

“The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not been able to answer, despite my thirty years into the feminine souls, is ‘what does a woman want?'”

Ask And You Shall Receive

What I do know is asking a woman want she wants when it comes to dinner or going out won’t get you anywhere.  Ask and ye shall receive does not apply here, my friend.

Asking a woman what she wants to do or where she wants to go will annoy the crap out of her.

Fact.

Women, especially high quality women, want men who lead and take control.  This doesn’t mean he is controlling. It means he is in tune with his masculine core and understands women lust after a man who knows how to be the man in the relationship.

I’ve overheard guys asking women things like: “what would you like to do for dinner?” or “what do you want to do for your birthday?” or “do you want to go see a movie tonight?”

While I agree a ‘team’ discussion about major decisions that affect both of you is important, asking her the above questions weakens the relationship and strengthens your inner nice guy. And any woman worth her salt loathes the nice guy.

Why?

Dr. Robert Glover, author or the highly recommend No More Mr. Nice Guy gives this reasoning:

Women need to feel “emotional tension” with a man in order to be attracted to him and experience sexual arousal. “Nice” is boring – it doesn’t create any emotional tension for women…this response is wired into women by mother nature

How to kill your inner nice guy

Read and apply what you learn in Dr. Glover’s book is the best advice I could give you.  In the mean time, instead of asking her want she wants to do, pick her up, twirl her around and tell her to “put on something nice…I’m taking you out to dinner,” or “pack enough clothes for the weekend…don’t ask where we’re going…it’s a surprise for your birthday and you’re going to love it,”  or “I feel like seeing a movie tonight…last one to the car is a rotten egg.”

Why does this work?

According to David Deida, author of The Way of The Superior Man women open up to this type of narrative because “feminine energy thrives when it is surprised, being playful, spontaneous, laughing, dancing, giving and receiving love”

By communicating in the way I’ve described above she will open up emotionally, spiritually, and physically and won’t care where you’re going or what you’re having for dinner or even what movie you will see because she is feeling safe and secure in the relationship, relaxed in her feminine energy, and trusting of your masculine core.

Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself

Do you check yourself before you wreck yourself? That is to say when you’re out with mates trying to ‘pick-up,’ waiting in line at Starbucks, or interacting with a girl you like do you know your body language? Do you look nervous and unsure of yourself when talking to girls like this guy?

Or are you confident, relaxed, taking up too much space, and couldn’t care less if she likes you or not, like this guy?

.

Most guys I come across  look like the first guy.

As the night goes on and the booze kicks in the following happens: they will start approaching ‘the hot girls’ and blabber on about what they do and how much money they make and come across as weak or needy or use some weird ‘pick up line.’

‘The hot girls’ will either (a) reject them or (b) use them for free drinks.

Whereas the second guy either has girls approach him, put themselves in his orbit, or invite him to come talk to them. His body language communicates confidence, dominance and high self-esteem.  It attracts the right type of girl, not a THOT or gold digger.

This guy knows his value and worth on a deep level.

He is neither weak nor needy; rather he sees himself as a catch and has the mindset that any girl he meets is lucky to come across a great guy like him.

He conveys this with confidence and a smile on his face, not with arrogance.

And he couldn’t care less if the woman likes him or not; beautiful women are everywhere so he doesn’t need to impress her or use some weird ‘PUA’ tactic or line to get her to like him.

Women are more attracted to a guy who is confident, has character, personality, and invested highly in himself than good looks, six pack abs, money, or nice clothes.  This guy doesn’t blabber on about how much he makes, or how successful he is, instead he uses the James Bond rule to seduction. He knows if she’s testing the hell out of him she likes him. And he’s cool with this because he knows how to pass her tests and leave her wanting more.

Do you?

As a young boy I fantasized day and night about having my way with blonde girls. My first girlfriend was a brunette.  So was the girl after her. And the girl after her.  Apart from a one night stand with a blonde, I’ve only ever been with brunettes.  It’s funny how things sometimes turn out that way.

I have no regrets.

Don’t get me wrong I still love blondes, but give me a brunette any day.  Just like tattooed girls I can’t tell you why that is exactly.  But what I do know is hot brunette girls send my testosterone levels through the roof. To celebrate this achievement we have put together this humble, yet groin enlarging list of 8 smoking hot brunette girls you need to follow on Instagram.

Enjoy!

Brown Sugar
  1. Juli Anne

Professional model and social media personality (aren’t they all?).  Portugese/German decent. Single parent. Lives in California. Not only a smoking hot brunette but one of the hottest girls I’ve ever seen.  Lists posing on a sky-rise balcony in a novelty bow as one of her favorite pastimes. Check her out @juli.annee

2. Michi Peachie

Fitness coach and model. Social media personality, and lover of knee-high socks.  Her mission is being a positive role model for women. Nice. Says she was “born buff.” I don’t about that but I do she’s smoking hot!  Check her out @michie_peachie

3. Melissa Riso

I don’t know what it is but there’s something sexy about a woman who reads in underwear. Like most of the girls listed here Melissa swings between brunette and black, but we won’t hold that against her. Melissa dreams of being an actor, and trains in Krav Maga…we have so much in common, Melissa! Check her out @melissariso

Baby, Baby, Oh!

4. Yovanna Ventura

OK she’s Justin Beiber’s ex.  But this smoking hot ‘brunette’ babe is just too damn hot to leave out.  Though if she starts dating Bieber again I might delete her from this list….yeah right. Check her out @yoventura

5. Amy Jackson

Smoking hot brunette ‘Bollywood actress.’ Began modelling at 16 and won the coveted Miss Teen World title soon after.  Awesome!  Has a cat called ‘Alfie.’ Check her out @iamyjackson

6. Isabelle & Olivia Mathers

You can’t beat a good 2-for-1 deal and these two smoking hot brunette babes are no exception.  Perhaps the hottest twins in the world. Definitely the hottest sisters in Australia. And yes, I got lambasted for leaving them out of 10 Of The Hottest Instagram Babes Down Under list, but apparently all is forgiven now. Are you even reading this?  Check Isablle out here @isabellemathersx and Olivia here @olivia.mathers

7. Adelinka Twins

Speaking of twins there’s no way in hell we could leave these smoking hot Russian sisters out. All you need to know about these girls is that they are close – very close.

  • Helping each other undress – check
  • Taking raunchy selfies together – check
  • Sharing a shower to save water – priceless

And you know what, we think that’s great.  Being water conscious and having strong family ties is so important, especially these days.  Check them out @adelalinka_life

8. Daniela Lanio

This smoking hot brunette reminds me of a young Cindy Crawford or Julia Roberts.  Daniela is the co-founder of a women’s clothing line called Sarksa, and fitness model (naturally) amongst other things. Did I mention she’s smoking hot… Check her out @danielalanio_

Numero Uno

I had a great time putting this post together and I hope you did ‘reading’ it.  All of these girls are smoking hot. Actually, they’re more than that. They are incredibly sexy, intelligent women making a huge impact on the world live in.

So who’s my favorite?

It’s a cliche, but that’s a tough one.  Before putting this post together I would’ve said hands down Melissa Riso.  But then my research came across Juli Annee and she instantly became my favorite.  As I close this post I can’t take my eyes off the Adelinka twins.  Who knows, tomorrow Daniela might be my favorite.

Who’s your favorite?  Who would you have included or left out?

Cheer up ol’ boy.  Things aren’t that bad.  They could be worse.  Oh, my apologies…I didn’t realize you lost your job, wife, house, obese cat, inflated ego, and you’re now living under a bridge where Kurt Cobain sowed his melancholic seed.

I feel for you, buddy.

While I can’t help you out with food, accommodation, money, or the like, I can brighten up your day with…

10 Killer Dan Bacon Quips

These killer quips will leave you R.O.F.L.Y.A.O. If they don’t, call my lawyer and he’ll see to it you get a sense of humor.

  1. “[I can teach you] how to get a woman down on her knees and be a good girl..”

2. “[Using my advice you will] get her on the bed…with her legs spread..”

3. ” I work in I.T…I’m a nerdy guy…you like nerdy guys don’t you…”

4. “Women do want sex…women do want a relationship…women do want to be bent over and taken from the rear”

5. “[Intelligent men] think small talk is for stupid people”

6. “I’ll show you quick and easy ways to instantly experience more success with women”

7. “[Follow my advice] and your ex will come crawling back”

8. “When a woman is giving you dating advice there’s usually only one translation:Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah”

9. [Rapping] “If you’re not her usual type, don’t swipe right -swipe dat ass. Swipe dat ass. Swipe dat ass.”

10. “Picking up women is a lot like playing video games- you  overcome obstacles to complete the mission or get what you want…if [you fail at that] you can always get a hooker.”

 Bacon and Eggs

Most of you reading this will know who Dan Bacon is or have at least heard of him. For those that don’t know who this guy is allow me to give a brief overview:

Dan Bacon and Eggs is a dating coach and You Tuber based in Melbourne, Australia. In his own words he was a one time ‘loser’ with women.  On his ever growing You Tube channel he mentions more than once how he used to go out and try to pick up girls but always came home empty handed with his tail between his legs.

In 2016 Bacon copped it big time from feminist and feminists publications all over the internet for his article on approaching women wearing headphones.  This furor has since become known as ‘Bacon-loo.’

Eureka!

Bacon said he had a D.M with his sister one night about his lack of success with women, to which she replied: “Don’t worry. You’ll meet the right girl soon…” Or something along those lines.  It’s at that moment Bacon had an Eureka! moment: “That’s not how it works, sis. I see guys picking up women every night. I’m going to study these guys and get lots of hot girls…you’ll see!”

And he did…and he has heaps of pics to prove it.  In an instant Dan the man went from Incel to Chad banging Stacy’s everywhere he went, and now he makes a handsome living out of teaching other men how to do the same.

Try Hard

Bacon has some valid points when it comes to interacting with members of the opposite sex, such as how to flirt with her, and pass her tests, but overall his method and methodology is fundamentally flawed.  In the main the advice he gives centers around goofing off, and having witty comebacks.  Don’t get me wrong, that works, but only of it’s subtle and seamless.

I feel Bacon’s way is forced and contrived.  What do you reckon?

Quip number 3 in the list above is why I say this. That ‘technique’ works on very few women, if at all.  In my experience, the majority of women think you’re odd, or a ‘try hard’ when you come straight out the gate like this. It’s nearly as corny as saying: “I could tell you, but then I’d to have to kill you.”

Actually, it’s worse than corny – it’s infantile and in many ways coming on too strong.

 Blank Canvas

A really beautiful, sexy, intelligent woman knows she makes you hard with the way she looks and looks at you.  While she wants you to desire her she also wants you to retain your composure and see through her beauty like an artist sees through the canvas. In her book, Open Her: Activate 7 Masculine Traits Powers to Arouse Your Woman’s Love and Desire, Karen Brody explains in detail how and why being ‘the artist’ is so powerful when it comes to taking things to the next level with top notch women. It’s a very easy read with tons of useful advice and I highly recommend it.

In my experience the best response to the ‘what do you do’ question is… just tell her.  But don’t just say ‘I work in sales.’ Add some sugar and spice to it.  For example: ‘My sales job pays the bills, but my real passion is (whatever it is your passionate about). ‘  You’re being interesting, without being a dick or coming across as a ‘try hard’, and you’re letting her know you’re ambitious, have a purpose, and not solely focused on getting her in bed with her legs spread, like most of the other guys she’s come across in the last hour.

This approach makes high quality women dripping wet.

As the conversation flows definitely mess with her and throw in some witty one liners, ala James Bond.  Have fun and challenge her and be a challenge for her – enjoy the moment and don’t get bogged down with getting her number or in bed with her legs spread. Leave her wanting more and she’ll start chasing you.

Your thoughts?
