Quick Tip – How to improve your carbon Filters Performance with an Ona Block.
Carbon filters, are great, they do an amazing job of filtering smells, however after a bit of use or every now and again you can get a hint of it not working, to stop help or avoid this you want to try popping an ona block inside the filter. ( break it down in to small lumps if its a smaller filter )
Ona Neutralising agent (ona) doesn’t just cover smells and odours it chemically breaks them down, putting an ona block inside your carbon filter will help ensure the air coming out your growroom is clean and smelling fresh rather than getting a mild hint or whiff of any unpleasant smells.
Ona Blocks and ona Products are good for the following applications
Heres the tricky part, yellowing leaves on plants can be caused by just about anything that’s a little out in your grow room, not enough light, overwatering, nutrient deficiencies, incorrect ph, nutrient toxicities, root disease, virus, it could even be just the plants natural ageing process.
The most common reason for yellow leaves is moisture stress.
The most common reason that plants’ leaves turn yellow is because of moisture stress, which can be from either over watering or under watering. If you have a plant that has yellow leaves, check the soil in the pot to see if the soil is dry.
The First Question is where did the yellowing start, At the top of the plant? is it the whole plant? or did it start at the bottom?
If its the top, the usual suspect is iron deficiency. If its the bottom its usually a magnesium deficiency if its an overall yellowing of the plant its probably nitrogen deficiency.
Firstly, i would double check your ph levels and your ph meter, because if your ph levels are incorrect, you dont know what that is, or you dont bother with that nonsense then im 99% sure that’s the source of the problem or problems.
If your ph levels are incorrect in hydroponics or soil growing then your plants will not be able to uptake a lot of the required nutrient elements available to it causing slow growth, poor yields and most obviously deficiencies
Another factor to consider is if you are in the middle of flowering and your sure you have enough magnesium in the tank it could well be potassium toxicity which looks the same as a magnesium deficiency, to address this, cut back on the pk and boosters a little.

How to get rid of thrips, Thrips can be an absolute bloody nightmare especially when you get them on indoor plants or within your indoor grow room, whether it be hydroponics or soil/coco they can quickly kill and eat your favourite crops and devastate the harvest. Luckily though we have a number of options and answers to help get rid of thrips in your grow room.
What are Thrips?
Thrips “Thysanoptera” are minute, slender insects with fringed wings and unique asymmetrical mouthparts. Different thrips species feed mostly on plants by puncturing and sucking up the contents, although a few are predators they do a lot of damage to your plants.
How did i get them?
There are usually only a handful of ways to get thrips.
1 – You or a friend brought them or the eggs in on your shoes or clothes
(always wear overalls and cover shoes when going in to your grow room )
2 – The eggs were already in the soil you brought in and used. (if you are growing in soil/coco)
(make sure you buy a reputable brand from a reputable source)
3 – They have come in through your ventilation or windows.
( mask windows with nets and ventilation points with bug sheilds or bug guards
4 – They were already in there before you started.
( fumigate rooms with smoke bombs that may be in question )
The best as always is prevention, however if you do get over run and want them gone immediately the best thrips killer as always are natural predators, yes thats right that does involve putting more bugs in your grow room however these bugs dont want your plants, they want thrips. Although may seem extreme this is the best and most natural way of getting rid with out affecting your plants.
Amblyseius cucumeris” The thrips predator moves quickly to attack eggs, larvae and small adult thrips. Female thrips predators, while consuming two to three thrips a day, also lay two to three eggs a day, multiplying the beneficial insect’s population as it feeds.
