A Tuesday for me is usually spent at the beach, this includes a dog walk and then brunch which is good start to the day. It is really starting to feel like Autumn now, though despite the windy weather lately the warm sun feels so good when walking outdoors.
This Hell Bunny jumpsuit is so cute and extremly comfortable! Perfect for hot summer days and easy to throw on and look put together when you don't feel that way due to the heat or just when you've had a busy week in general. The is no zip, just an elastic waist and a button at the back of the neck, special mention of the deep pockets, always essential. I love the pink tropical flowers and flamingos and it's even better against the black background which makes the print pop!
My style has changed a bit over the past year, I still love vintage, all of my dresses and always will. But I have been wearing a lot of boho style clothing, trying different things and still mixing in my vintage pieces. Though my lifestyle has changed a bit these days too so that can have an affect. I love that this jumpsuit and quite a few pieces from Hell Bunny's new range can be have a bit more of a relaxed feel to it, style it more retro if you like or a bit more casual too and you'll look fabulous no matter what!
I haven't been setting my hair very often in vintage styles lately too as I am embracing my natural curls, now that my hair has grown out back to it's natural blonde state and I've switched to organic products it now curls the way I want it to naturally. Though I do enjoy setting it into vintage styles maybe a couple of times a fornight (like I have here for this photoset), it's nice to have my hair natural and in a styled state.
Style is always evolving and since I was a little girl I have always loved to experiment with it.
You have probably noticed my lack of blogging lately, life has been busy and although I have missed it the break has been nice. It is now Autumn here in Australia though it is only early, we are starting to feel the chill here in NSW but the sun is still really warm, I went for a swim or two about a week ago!
What better way to blog again than with one of my all time favourite brands, I selected a few really beautiful and easy to wear pieces that suit my lifestyle at the moment, though I always make time to go to the beach, it always relaxes me.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it on my blog but Max and I got engaged earlier this year, he gave me the most beautiful antique Victorian ring and asked me on these rocks by the beach.
As for this gorgeous dress, I wearing my usual size xs, it is a little loose on my waist which I have pulled in with a belt, it has pockets, a pom pom trim on top, adjustable straps with bows on top and a gorgeous pineapple-tropical print. It is nice and light to wear which is essential for really hot weather, it also looks super cute with a cardigan.
I have always been curious about Retrolicious clothing, they offer lots of beautiful styles and prints. I was super excited to try this gorgeous nautical shirtwaist dress. The more you look at the print, the more you see, it is so full of detail!
It's always exciting when I find a shirtwaist dress that suits me and fits really well, the dress has functional front buttons, a side zip, pockets and is made with lovely breathable cotton fabric. It seems to tick all of the boxes. I wore it all day, on a humid day might I add and I was very comfortable. I am wearing size small and love the fit, it fits well without making me feel restricted.
Shipping was also really quick from the US to Australia so all in all I have been really impressed with this brand so far! I think this will be one of my go to dresses as it is so cute and just an easy dress to chuck on too... They are my favourite kind of dresses lately as life is so busy.
I have been wearing a lot of Princess Highway lately and that's because I just really love everything they have on offer. I swung into the Princess Highway store on Swanson St, I always visit this store and picked up this gorgeous new season outfit.
Cindy Sweater and Headband - Also by Princess Highway (purchased by myself to complete the look)
This outfit has made me quite excited for cute autumn/winter looks and it was nice to take some photos when it was still cool in the morning.
I've been on the lookout for a pinny like this for the past couple of years and I was super excited t see this one on display at the Swanson St store! It's nice to try something a little different to what I usually wear and I have been doing that a lot this past year. My style changes a lot and it feels good to not restrict myself to one style or era only.
The pinny is made with beautiful soft but sturdy corduroy and does up with a front zip, I am wearing my usual PH size 8. The shoes are so cute and comfy, I love the little heel and the scallop detail, I went with size AU9/EURO40.
The Cindy sweater is so so cute, perfect colour for Autumn too, you can't see in the photo as it only shows one but the front is covered in embroidered flowers (click the link about in my outfit details to see).
There wasn't a size 8 available in the store so I went with 6 as this was recommended for me. It creates a nice fitted look by sizing down and has a bit of stretch. I would advise sizing up or sticking to your usual size normally though as I would have typically gone with my usual size.
When the weather does eventually cool down I plan on wearing stockings to winterise the look a little more and keep warm in the cold.
It was actually really hot weather when we stayed in Melbourne which I am thankful for as I only packed summer dresses and light cardigans so it all worked out pretty well in the end. We stayed in a gorgeous Victorian terrace house and it was just so beautiful, it was really cool inside too as we didn't realise it was hot until we stepped foot out of the house. It was such a lovely weekend away and long over due for Max and I. It is nice to be back home and back to sleeping in my own bed.
We have been in Melbourne this weekend for a wedding, the weather has been beautiful and warm. I only packed summer outfits and some light cardigans, so luckily my suitcase of clothes are weather appropriate.
Dresses with low back and pinafore styles are always a fav to wear, especially when it's nice warm weather. I originally bought this dress in black, then this version went on sale so I bought it too. I love both but I really like then warm tones of this dress on me a bit better.
I have been wearing quite a lot of Princess Highway lately, I really love their prints and easy to throw on styles. They make some really great knitwear as well. Whenever I am in Melbourne it's always a treat to pop into one of their stores, hopefully I will be making a visit later today as I didn't get enough time to on Friday when we arrived.
Max and I had a great time at then wedding we went to yesterday, it was great to catch up with friends and to meet some of Max's Melbourne friends that I have been waiting to meet. It was a great wonderful night celebrating a beautiful couple, having endless laughs, yummy food and a boogie on the dancefloor.
I better end this post here as we are going to head into the city soon, after Max wakes up from his nap. We had breakfast at a cute little French patisserie not far from us and I think we are in slight food coma.
I have been wearing (and blogging) Sirens Swimwear for many years now and it will always be top of the range for me when we're talking swimwear.
Not only is their swimwear super cute and beautiful but it is so well constructed too. They are always made with fully constructed cups, shapewear elements and the most beautiful soft but also durable materials. The adjustable straps on The Lizzie are also very handy. I go to the beach a lot each summer and Sirens Swimwear always holds up and lasts years. This swim style also comes in so many cute prints, I am eyeing up the tropical one next.
I always make sure to rinse my swimwear in cold water as soon as I get home and let it drip dry in my shower and then lay it on a towel to finish drying, this also leads to a longer lifespan of swimwear. I never ever chuck it in the washing machine.
I had fun taking these photos despite it being stinking hot, though soon afterwards I went for a swim at the beach, why wouldn't I whilst I'm already in my swimwear?!
Follow the size guide and you will be absolutely fine when picking out your Sirens Swimwear.
Wattle has to be my favourite tree with the most beautiful yellow fluffy flowers and I could not resist trying this beautiful wattle print dress by Princess Highway.
This dress has a super cute open back with tie up bow, I love this type of detail and have it on a couple of my Princess Highway jumpsuits. This pinafore style dress is perfect for summer, the fabric has been so nice and breathable for all of the heatwaves we have been experiencing. I have worn this dress a few times since these photos were taken, including today when I wore it layered with a white t-shirt. I am wearing my usual size 8 in this brand and again happy with the fit.
The new year has already been a busy one, a highlight has been passing my drivers test a few days ago. It feels surreal driving around on my own, I'm quite proud of this achievement as it was something I was quite afraid to do.
I'm hoping to finish one of my sewing projects next week, I haven't had as much time the past couple of weekends to do any, but I did spend a whole afternoon folding and sorting my fabric recently. Now I can see how much I really have in my fabric stash and I really I don't need to buy any more for a while!
I'm featuring another super cute look by Princess Highway, the Bianca playsuit (which also comes in red) is a super sweet summer playsuit which is perfect warm weather and such an easy way to feel super cute when the heat makes you feel quite the opposite.
This playsuit gives me some 1940s vibes with the ruffles, bodice design and shorts. I love the bow on the back and of course the floral print. Since I have grown my hair out to it's natural blonde shade I seem to love wearing yellow even more so I had to go for this version of the playsuit. Wearing size 8 there is a bit of room for comfort and it's a great fit, especially for summer when you don't want to feel too restricted in clothing (well. I know I don't want to feel like that).
We've had plenty of hot weather here, which I wouldn't expect otherwise. Plenty of time has been spent at the beach swimming, as much as possible and when I'm not melting in my "house dresses" at home I try to pop on cute outfits like these with light make-up. I have had a pretty good summer so far and am looking forward to a great year ahead too.
There will be another Princess Highway outfit on the blog very soon, I am hoping to shoot some photos tomorrow. It's one of the cutest dresses ever featuring probably my most favourite Australian native flowers.
As a huge fan of Princess Highway clothing I was over the moon to see that they were releasing swimwear this summer and I was super excited to be able to try it out!

Bonnie Bikini Top and Bottom - c/o Princess Highway
How cute is this floral print and even better to have it on swimwear for something a bit different?! I have been at the beach multiple times each week, the best part of summer so I have been enjoying my swimwear and happily adding in new additions to my swim collection.
I went for a walk around the beach and took this bikini for a swim on new years eve and it was super comfortable to wear. The bikini top has adjustable straps and ties up at the back, which looks really beautiful. The bottoms are high waisted and hit my belly button. I have a long torso but I love where they sit. I am wearing size 8 and both separate fit well, the top is padded and accommodating for various bust sizes due to the tie up back. These are really good quality swimmers and they look absolutely stunning on. Princess Highway also has a full piece swimsuit available too!
I had fun shooting these images in this beautiful rockpool which was always refreshing, no wonder I look extra happy in these photos as swims at the beach is my favourite thing ever!
Flowers and Houseplants?! I love them and I love Erstwilder even more for giving us this beautiful collection. Check out my post to see four brooches that I am featuring from the In Full Bloom range.
The Hydrangea Brooch
Hydrangeas have to be one of the loveliest flowers and I love when I see them in gardens. Blue hydrangeas are my favourite as blue is one of my favourite colours. I was very excited when I first saw this brooch, it is beautiful in photos but even more beautiful in person. I made my dress just in time to shoot some images with the brooch, nothing like a bit of express sewing... I just really love to match things sometimes haha.
Another beautiful flower, which is both gorgeous in colour and detail. I love pairing blue and pink together so I instantly thought of this summer dress. This is such an elegant brooch that will go with a range of looks in my wardrobe.
The Red Cactus
I am obsessed with cactus everything so I needed this brooch. I love that it looks different to typical cacti everything at the moment. The colourful blooming cactus in a blue speckled pot is refreshing and fun. I wouldn't have thought that this brooch would look good on pale pink but it just goes to show that you can try almost everything with Erstwilder brooches and I think it looks great with this pale pink backdrop with embroidered cactus (of course)!
The Aloe Vera
This brooch is is probably my favourite of the four though and I didn't expect it to be. I knew it was going to be really cute but the more I look at it the more I love it. From the multiple shades of green, spot on the plant, to the spiked edges and the pretty pale pot. It's just a beautiful combination and a great representation of this plant. I also love it with my white jumpsuit, they both compliment each other perfectly.
Photos by me
Be sure to head to the Erstwilder website to shop the new range, do you have any favourites? I wouldn't mind adding another houseplant and a pair of earrings to my collection. Erstwilder really outdid themselves with this collection, it is absolutely stunning and there is a great deal of variation and detail amongst this collection.
