I know I’ve mentioned this before in a previous post, but Lip Smacker was one of the first beauty products I found out about and started wearing. The flavours, the scents.. everything drew me in. What young girl didn’t want to collect them all and keep one (or a few) with her at all times? Now flash forward today and I can’t help but still reminisce about that time in my life and how it means more to me now than ever before. I think about it so fondly now because one day I will get to share my first beauty love with my own daughter and get her as obsessed with them as I used to be and frankly, still am.

Lip Smacker has come a long way since I discovered them in my childhood. They still have the classic lip balms like Dr. Pepper, Watermelon, Strawberry, and the list goes on, and they’ve released new balms over recent years that target young and old adults alike with their Coffee House Party Pack and launching balms in packaging that makes it necessary to buy at least 2 of so you can put one on display.

They are always staying innovative and fun with their new product lines which still gets me excited to add to my collection but also excited for when my daughter can start wearing lip balm. I’ve got quite a few years until that time comes, since she hasn’t even been born yet, but that will not stop me from introducing her to my collection and telling her all about my childhood experiences with Lip Smacker.

One of their new launches comes in the form of their Disney Emoji Flip Balm’s. Not only does this merge the love I have for Lip Smacker lip balms but also for Disney anything. The Disney Emoji Flip Balm’s ($4.95) feature a different emoji expression on each side of the balm that flips open to reveal a yummy flavour within and also comes with 7.4 grams of product. For instance, they have Disney princesses like Belle from Beauty and the Beast who, of course, is scented/flavoured with rose. And there is also Cinderella who has a berry scent/flavour. You can also get the Mickey & Minnie Duo ($9.49) where Mickey has a birthday/vanilla cake scent and Minnie smells like strawberries. Each one has a different scent/flavour to them and that’s another thing about them that makes them fun to collect.

The next new collection that I cannot wait to show my daughter is the new Lippy Pal Lip Balm Trio’s ($10.99). It’s an adorable collection featuring cute little animals on the packaging that contain fun flavours inside. Each of these Lippy Pal’s come from different trio’s and the pink Fox is flavoured with apples, the Panda Bear has a cream puff flavour, and the Kitten has a watermelon flavour. There really isn’t a rhyme or reason to most of the flavour and animal pairings but it just goes to show how different each one can be and how addictive they are to collect.

These are absolutely collection-building worthy and are so cute to display on your vanity or pull out of your purse. Gone are the days when lip balm used to nothing fancy to look at and just something you put on your lips and toss back quickly into your bag. Now you can show them off and have fun collecting them especially if you’re like me and love anything Disney related and anything with adorable animal packaging. This makes the experience of applying lip balm more exciting than it used to be and even though Lip Smacker balms were pretty exciting to buy and wear back when I was a kid, it’s even more exciting now because of how far the brand has come and I can’t wait to share that with my daughter. I don’t want her to grow up too quickly by getting her into makeup at a young age (even though I’m so excited and anxious to) but lip balm is something you can get a kid into before all of that because not only is it beauty related but it also gets them in the habit of starting to take care of their skin as they grow up and that is something I absolutely want to pass down to my baby girl.

What do you think of the Lip Smacker Disney Emoji Flip Balms and Lippy Pal Trio’s? If you have kids or are pregnant like me, what are some beauty traditions you have or are going to be passing down to them?! Share your thoughts below!

IT Cosmetics will always have a special place in my heart. I always get excited when a new product of theirs launches here in Canada. Not only was there one but several new and exciting product launches from both their makeup and skincare lines that had me DYING to try them out!

First exciting new launch is their Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleanser ($48 / 250ml). I’ve gotten more and more into trying out new and different cleansers, so this product got me really excited when I first heard about it. It’s a clinically advanced, skin brightening and radiance booster, as well as anti-aging treatment essence and skin softening micellar cleanser. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and restores the skin’s appearance, as well as removes makeup, dirt, oil and impurities all in a single step. It’s formulated with their Secret Sauce (a perfect compliment to the next product I will be sharing), which is a fermented complex of 7 key fermented ingredients that increase absorbency and maximize efficacy of your serums and moisturizers. It’s alcohol-free and all skin types can use it as either a second cleanse or on its own in place of your regular cleanser.

Following up from that is the Secret Sauce Clinically Advanced Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer ($88 / 60 ml). It’s a luxurious moisturizer containing powerful fermented ingredients that helps you reveal radiant, younger looking skin in an instant and keeps improving the look of your skin over time. It features collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, licorice root, which all help reduce discoloration, lines and wrinkles. It also contains their Drops of Light Technology concentrate and diamond powder to help give you a lit from within glow.

The Swatch:

On the makeup side of their new launches is the new Superhero Liner ($32 / 0.55 ml). It’s an innovative, waterproof, liquid-gel liner pen that creates precise, flawless lines with a single stroke. Whether you want a thin, thick or cat-eye lined look, the liner will come to your rescue with its unique IT Cosmetics Heavenly Skin brush hair tip that won’t fray and delivers a precise and effortless application process. It’s infused with ingredients that enhance your lashes which include peptides, collagen, biotin, keratin, and kaolin clay, as well as their Elastic Stretch No-Skip Technology and triple black pigment complex. It helps you create an extremely saturated, super black flawless lines that won’t budge or smudge.

The Superhero Liner has the perfect side kick with the Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara ($32 / 9 g). This mascara is like skincare for your lashes and features the Elastic Stretch Technology which stretches the look of your lashes, making them look wider and longer and wraps each individual lash in a volume boosting, lengthening and highly conditioning coat of support and colour for the strongest, thickest most defined lash look. The mascara contains lash lifting polymers, volumizing collagen, strengthening biotin, proteins and peptides along with an extremely black pigment and lash-changing power brush that coats every lash from root to tip and, like a true super hero, doesn’t leave a single innocent lash behind.

The Swatches:

My Glittery Thoughts:

As you probably expect, I’m in love with the Secret Sauce moisturizer and Miracle Water. The Miracle Water is extremely effective at cleansing my face and removing all of my makeup without drying out or irritating my skin. It also leaves my skin looking a little more even and brighter, which is why I like using it before I put on my makeup as well. The moisturizer is very hydrating and is amazing at giving my skin the hydration it needs and sucks up the second I put it on. I actually prefer it a bit more than the Confidence in a Cream moisturizer because I feel like it offers more hydration and my skin looks a bit better with Secret Sauce on it. I think it’s a great moisturizer, although very much on the pricey side, for dry skin because of how well it hydrates and plumps up your skin. My skin looks better when I pair both products together, looks less dull and uneven, and in an all around healthier looking condition.

When I first tried the Superhero mascara, I was not a fan. It can go on really thick if you’re not careful and don’t slowly build it up. But I tried to give it a fair shot and use it a bit more which is when I started liking it a bit more. It does help thicken and volumize your lashes and has a bit of a tendency to flake a little throughout the day. But overall I like how it builds my lashes up and makes them look long and more defined. The Superhero liner is stunning and so very easy to work with and apply. You can make lines that are thin or thick and it dries down pretty quickly and has a bit of a shine to its finish. You can get a lot of colour and lines out of one stroke without having to shake up the pen again, which I really like. The colour goes on smooth and is very buildable so you can leave it looking like a softer black or very dark. Unfortunately it’s not waterproof, so if you’re someone who often gets emotional (due to pregnancy hormones like me) or likes being outside in the heat, any sweat or water will break down the liner and you will be left with something that is not so pretty to look at. So I prefer to use it when I’m not gonna be in any humidity (and I’m feeling pretty good in general) so it stays in tact.

What do you think of the new product launches from IT Cosmetics? Have you tried any of these out?! Share your thoughts below!

Products these days are all about being more innovative and different in some kind of way but I really like when brands keep it simple and go back to basics. I feel like this was definitely the case with Make Up For Ever who recently launched their Artist Color Pencil‘s. They look exactly like pencil crayons but instead of being used to colour on paper (which you could still do with these but that would be a waste :P) you would use these to basically colour anywhere on your face. I suck at drawing, so these are colour pencils I could really have some fun with!

Top: 900 – All Over Magenta Bottom: 208 – Unlimited Blue

You can line your eyes, lips, fill in your brows, add contour or blush with the Artist Color Pencil‘s, which come in 39 intensely pigmented shades. They can be worn individually or together and come in a creamy matte formula that glides on smooth and blends out seamlessly. Since they are very creamy, they are not long wearing so you will have to apply a primer underneath.

Price: $23 ea. / 0.04 oz. / 1.41 g / Available now at Sephora & Make Up For Ever

Top: 900 – All Over Magenta Bottom: 208 – Unlimited Blue My Glittery Thoughts:

I like these pencils not only because they bring me back to my childhood of colouring in colouring books but the colours they give off are so fun and easy to apply. As mentioned, they’re really creamy and smudge easily so you will have to use a primer underneath or you can use them as a base underneath a coordinating eyeshadow or whatever and it will make that colour even more intense. I have been using them as eyeshadow bases as well as eyeliners and I’ve used the magenta shade to line my lips and turn my brows into a funky pink shade.  I’ve gotten used to self sharpening pencils, retractable pencils or ones you really can’t sharpen or retract so this is a nice change to be able to sharpen and be able to use every last bit of product. If you’re looking for a straight up waterproof pencil, you would definitely enjoy the Aqua XL pencils from MUFE more because these require a little more work to get them to stay in place but they’re still fun to play with if you’re willing to work with them. Because of their creaminess and nice pigmentation, I’m interested in trying out one of the brown shades as a brow pencil and maybe even a contour colour and see how that goes!

I’m one of those lucky people that never really get sick. It only happens maybe once or twice at the most every year and twice is usually rare. Well, now that I’m pregnant, I’m getting sick once or twice A MONTH! I cannot tell you how drained I feel on a regular non-sick day, so then add this on top and I’m a completely useless person. Applying my makeup is at the bottom of my priority list when I’m sick but I still try somewhat to take care of my skin, so I don’t look at my face in the mirror, after another illness has wiped me out, and feel completely terrified. I LOVE face masks because I don’t have to DO anything while they’re on. Just relax and close my eyes, which is exactly what I prefer doing when I’m at home and not feeling well in the slightest, and let the mask work its magic.

It didn’t feel like a sign at the time but I received a set of new paper and mud face masks from Yes To, a brand I haven’t tried much of until now. But little did I know at the time, that this was going to be just what I needed. Are you struggling to feel or look your best? Always say Yes To a face mask!

Yes To is all about providing innovative natural products that take care of you from head to toe, are free of toxic ingredients and parabens and are made of recyclable materials. They use a lot of fruits and veggies in their products and have a lot of dedicated products devoted to many of the top nourishing and antioxidant filled fruits and vegetables out there. Yes To has been expanding their skincare line recently with a ton of new and exciting paper and mud masks that are designed to meet the needs of a variety of skin types.

The Yes To Mud Masks offer everything your skin might need from extra moisture, to detoxification, to reducing inflammation. They are easy to use and will leave your face feeling moisturized, nourished and glowing after just 10 minutes. Among the new mud masks is Yes To Cucumbers Calming Mud Mask that helps soothe and calm down sensitive skin. Aside from cucumbers, which are very soothing to apply, the mask also contains french green clay which is an absorbent clay that helps remove impurities and balances your skin. Yes To Coconut Moisturizing Mud Mask is all about delivering intense hydration to your skin. It contains virgin coconut oil and kaolin clay which is a soft clay that gently cleanses, balances and purifies while leaving your face feeling nicely moisturized. Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask has the perfect balance of added moisture to help hydrate and detoxification to draw out any dirt and impurities in your pores. It contains charcoal which is a natural detoxifier that cleanses and draws out gunk from your skin and brings it to the surface while salicylic acid helps the cells of the epidermis shed properly to prevent pores from becoming clogged with bacteria. Yes To Primrose Oil Mud Mask helps treat and soothe redness and irritation, as well as boosts hydration. Primrose Oil is a natural source of omega 6 fatty acids and vitamins E & C, so it helps soothe and reduce redness, while adding hydration. Each of these mud masks retails for $3.99 each and contains 0.33 fl. oz/10ml and can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart and Rexall.

The Yes To Paper Masks are easy, mess-free and relaxing to use and cater to a variety of needs. Like the mud masks, they are all free of parabens, SLS and silicones. The paper masks come in the same varieties as the mud masks except there isn’t a primrose oil one but two Yes To Tomatoes masks. One is for blemish fighting and helps get rid of blackheads and unclogs your pores. It contains tomatoes, which are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from environmental stressors that clog pores and cause breakouts, and as well as also containing salicylic acid. Each paper mask retails for $3.99 containing 0.67 fl. oz./20ml and are also available at Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart and Rexall.

My Glittery Thoughts:

I really like that you can find each type of mask in two different formats (excluding primrose oil). Both only need to be worn for 10 minutes but it’s all about preference and what you’re looking for. I enjoy paper masks for when I want something easy and stress free. When I feel like taking more time for myself, I will put on a mud mask. Either way, your skin is still getting the same benefits with either type of mask. I like the variety of types designed for different needs. My skin has been super dry lately because of how sick I’ve been getting so the coconut and primrose oil masks have been nice to use in this case, however I find that for the most part all of them leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated. There was one thing I discovered with using them that even my hubby mentioned because I had him try a mask and that is that these masks TINGLE! So if you have very sensitive skin, I would be cautious and try putting a spot of the solution or mud on a part of your face before applying the whole thing and see how it reacts. I’m not sure what caused it because my hubby and I tried different masks and it took at least 5 minutes for the tingling to die down. When we took off the masks, there was no redness because of it but I just found it a little freaky because I was not expecting it, especially with the cucumber mask. If you can get over that, it does leave your skin feeling and looking much more healthy and vibrant.

What do you think of Yes To face masks? Which one would you love to try out?! Share your thoughts below!

They have been coming out with a ton of new products that are must haves for anyone looking to get golden and glow up their face and body without the need for self tanner. Here they are!

True Color Bold Lipstick in Fearless Fuchsia / $10.00: Nothing says summer than a hot fuchsia lipstick! The True Color Bold Lipsticks are intensely saturated with colour, that’s true to what you see in the tube, that also has really great lasting power. If you’re not following me on social media, you probably missed the announcement I made about my pregnancy. It is part of the reason why I haven’t been as active in blogging and doing videos as I had intended to be. It has taken a lot of energy and motivation out of me which took me out of posting reviews, makeup tutorials and pretty pictures but the time off helped me find my love for it again and slowly but surely, I want to get back to a regular posting routine on the blog and social media.

Being pregnant can take a lot of motivation out of you. I don’t doll myself up as much as I’d like to and I know it needs to become a priority. I received a package of girl’s night treats from Farleyco that are perfect for a night of pampering with the girls or if you’re pregnant and have forgotten to put your needs first.

Eco Tools Facial Mask Mates / $10.99 CAD: A girl’s night always starts with a good face mask. I really don’t like getting that mask gunk on my hands, so this Mask Mates set of sponges and a handy brush are the perfect mates for applying a luxurious mask without having to wash your hands a billion times. It comes with a mask applicator brush and 3 mask remover sponges. The brush is made of bamboo and is cruelty-free, plus the bristles are super soft and the flat edge can easily apply anything from creams to gels to clay with even coverage, without the mess. The sponges are reusable and made of plant pulp, which helps to effectively remove masks while also gently exfoliating your skin.

BeautyLash Brow Tint Kit / $19.99 CAD: When you have non-existent brows, you will do pretty much anything to get some that actually show up. I’ve tried dying my brows with hair dye but have never tried brow tinting before. This product also tints your lashes which I’m a bit more hesitant about doing. It’s a quick 2-step process that lasts up to 6 weeks and is smudge and water resistant. One box is reusable for up to 8 applications which is also amazing. The shades come in Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown and Black. I’m dying my hair soon now that I’m in the second trimester and it’s much safer at this point for me to do it, so I’m very excited to try this kit out!

Modèle Collagen Lip Treatment (Plump) / $29.99: I don’t have the money to spend on lip injections and wouldn’t do that at this point in time anyways, so lip plumpers are always a fun thing to try out. This one helps restore volume to your lips, reduce the signs of aging and retain moisture. You can use it alone or underneath lipstick and should be applying at least 3 times a day for a minimum of 30 days to see results. When I first put it on, I immediately noticed that my lips were NOT tingling like most plumpers do. This is a very subtle plumper that feels more like a nice lip balm, so if you’re sensitive to that tingly/stinging feeling but want something that helps make your lips look a little more fuller, this is a great option.

7th Heaven Charcoal Mud Face Masque / $1.99 CAD: I love doing a double mask on nights when I really want to pamper myself. I’ll start with a cream mask and then put on one that I can peel off. My skin feels more squeaky clean and refreshed when I do the double mask combo. 7th Heaven masks are a treat because they’re easy to apply and can target certain problem areas and make my skin feel really good afterwards. This 2 in 1 mask contains purifying natural charcoal and exfoliating walnut shell that work as a tag team to help detoxify your skin. The charcoal also helps absorb oil and impurities. I hate having clogged pores and love how effective charcoal is at helping keep them clean.

MesmorEyes #406 Kit for Almond Eye Shapes / $12.99 CAD: Lashes are always something that make me feel prettier. I feel like I can wear lashes with minimal makeup and still feel good about myself. They’re also an essential to any girl’s night when you take your party from the comfort of your home to dinner or somewhere else to let a bit loose with the girls. This kit comes in different styles depending on your eye shape which is very helpful because most lashes come in a one size fits all style. The kit not only comes in a style perfect for almond eyes which works for me, but also those with monolids, round, and hooded eyes. the lashes in these kits are hand picked to suit those eye shapes and are hand knotted and feathered from 100% sterilized human hair, with comfort band technology so even someone who doesn’t wear lashes that often will feel comfortable in them. I love this kit because of the variety of looks I can get out of these lashes, plus they’re very easy to apply and wear.

Purple Tree Coconut Miracle Balm / 25 ml / $6.99 CAD: Pregnancy has given me really dry and parched skin, so a good multi-use balm is a must have. This balm uses natural, organic coconut oil which help protect and provide relief from dry, cracked skin on your lips and anywhere else on your body. It’s a multi=use balm that can protect brittle nails and cuticles, tame unruly brows, and when applied to your lashes, can give them a longer more luscious look. It not only comes in yummy coconut but also aloe vera, pomegranate, and shea butter. I love multi-use products because I can use it anywhere to treat my dry skin. Even though the tube is somewhat small, the balm itself is thick and a little goes a long way.

What do you think of my girl’s night/pregnancy pampering essentials? Have you tried any of these products out?! Share your thoughts below!
