I love anti-aging skincare and will try anything to help my skin look as youthful as possible while also giving it the moisture that it needs. Mary Kay recently launched the TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Skincare set that provides a three dimensional approach to defending against triggers that make your skin look older, delaying visible signs of aging and delivering younger looking skin, which I am always game for.

The skincare collection includes all of the must have products you would need in a skincare routine, which include TimeWise Age Minimize 3D 4-in-1 Cleanser,  Age Minimize 3D Day Cream SPF 30 Broad Spectrum Sunscreen, Age Minimize 3D Night Cream, and Age Minimize 3D Eye Cream. Each of the products features their Age Minimize 3D Complex,  that includes encapsulated resveratrol, vitamin B3 and an age-defying peptide. It also comes in two formulas, one for normal to dry skin and one for combination to oily skin. In as little as 4 weeks, the set will improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, improve resiliency, luminosity, smoothness, softness and your skin’s overall appearance.

The Age Minimize 3D 4-in-1 Cleanser is a multitasking cleanser that removes impurities in your skin that make it look dull, giving it a clean, exfoliated and brighter appearance. It’s gentle enough to be used twice a day because the exfoliation is really light and the cleanser leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable with every use.

Price: $32 / 127 g / Available now at MaryKay.ca

Age Minimize 3D Day Cream SPF 30 is a moisture-replenishing cream that re-energizes the skin’s natural, youthful glow by delaying signs of aging while also protecting it from harmful UVA/UVB rays. It’s a non-greasy cream that moisturizes your skin for 12 hours leaving it feeling nourished and looking brighter and more vibrant.

Price: $47 / 48 g / Available now at MaryKay.ca

Following up from the day cream is the Age Minimize 3D Night Cream, which delivers a boost of antioxidants to your skin while you sleep while also working to rebuild its reserves. The next morning your skin will look rejuvenated, well rested and more radiant than ever. The cream moisturizes for 12 hours and also helps soften expression lines, firms the skin as well as helps brighten it.

The Swatches:

From L-R: TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Day Cream SPF 30, Age Minimize 3D Eye Cream, Age Minimize 3D Night Cream My Glittery Thoughts:

I test out a lot of skincare because I love finding things that work. The TimeWise line feels luxurious on the skin, with a soft feminine scent, and the tubes are very travel friendly too. My skin feels really good, definitely more even in tone and more moisturized.  I love the cleanser because it’s got those little exfoliating granules in it so I can get some light exfoliation while I cleanse my skin and it makes it feel soothed, softer and has been helping with making it look more plump, fresh and even. I like that I can use it daily because it’s not a harsh exfoliator. The day cream is thicker in consistency compared to the night cream, most likely because it has SPF in it, but I like that about it because it makes my skin feel more hydrated and fresher. I also don’t have time to put an SPF on after my skincare during the week so I like that this has enough protection for my face so I don’t have to worry about that step.

The eye cream is very light and sinks well into the skin but still keeps that area moisturized and ready for makeup. I’ve also noticed that it dulls the look of my dark circles when I apply it. Last but not least, like the day cream, I really enjoy wearing the night cream. It’s lighter than the day cream but still hydrating and soothing. My skin doesn’t look as parched in the morning as it has been in the past. I have noticed a difference in my skin with using the products. My skin doesn’t look as rough and dull. My fine lines and wrinkles are less visible when I’m wearing the creams. I feel like I have a great base for faking that “just had a facial” look. You can also get the whole set of products for $159 on MaryKay.ca which isn’t a bad deal! If you want to try something new and anti-aging, I would definitely recommend!

When I “put” my brows on, I feel put together. Anyone else feel like that? At least if I have them looking decent, I feel okay to go out without any other makeup on. It’s hard to find the perfect brow product because some apply smoothly and then next thing you know are all over the place by the end of the day because the formula wasn’t quite budge-proof. Then you’ve got others where they’re long lasting but are hell to apply. I jump from enjoying powder to pencil to pomade every so often because I get bored and am always searching for that perfect product. Well, I think I found it in Kat Von D‘s new 24-Hour Super Brow Long-Wear Pomade.

The 24-Hour Super Brow Pomade is a long-wearing, waterproof pomade that helps you craft any kind of brow imaginable for a highly pigmented, budge proof look. It’s a lightweight formula that is super rich in pigment and comes in 16 shades, which include 7 natural brow tones, 7 artistic colours, one White Out pomade for mixing and customizing, and a Bleach tone for anyone who enjoys a bleached brow. They won’t smudge, sweat off or go anywhere until you want them to.

Price: $23 CAD / 5.0 g / Available now at 24-Hour Super Brow Pomade

The brow pomade was crafted to be applied with KVD’s new #70 Brow Pomade Brush. It’s a synthetic brush, with a firm, angled edge that’s designed for high performance pomades and creams. The shape of the brush is the perfect choice for filling in sparse areas, drawing on hair like strokes, and carving out fabulous arches. The brush also has a sleek stiletto handle, KVD’s trademark with her brushes, to give you egonomically friendly control and also doubles as a handy mixing tool.

Price: $22 CAD / Available now at Sephora

My Glittery Thoughts:

I’ve tried other brow pomades before but this one edges out all of them because it doesn’t dry too quickly, giving me enough time to apply it where I need it and blend it out before it sets in. The colour is rich and very natural looking and the brow pomade brush is the perfect tool to apply it with. The brush delivers tiny hair-like strokes that you can’t get with any thicker, denser brush, and is just a dream to work with and makes applying this stuff even easier. But the biggest thing is that when my eyebrows get itchy throughout the day and I have to scratch them, I’m not smearing brown all over my face nor am I taking colour off my brows. This stuff is magic! But you do need to scrub the stuff off well before bed because it takes a few good scrubs to get everything off and sometimes you’re still left with a tiny bit of colour left behind. But that doesn’t bother me.

I received both the pomade and the brush from Influenster and the only thing I have an issue with is the shade which is a tad too dark for my hair right now, but I can still make it work. With that being said, I will be picking up the lighter shade soon because I love this stuff so much. If you’ve struggled with pomades, this one will change your mind about them. If you have only been using pencils, this is worth switching over for. If you’re like me and have thin, barely there brows and want something that will create the perfect shape and natural effect, you need to give this a shot. And if you’re just looking for something new and exciting to try on your brows, this is exactly what you need!

What do you think of the Kat Von D 24-Hour Super Brow Long-Wear Pomade? Are you a fan of using brow pomades?! Share your thoughts below!

One of my favourite things to do is trying out new skincare products. I’m always on the hunt for the next best thing that’s going to transform my skin and make it look better than ever. You should see my skincare testing section in my bathroom – it’s almost overflowing with a mixture of tried and true products, new products I’m testing out and samples and other stuff I have yet to crack into. I’ve had a strong love for IT Cosmetics ever since going buck wild with the first blockbuster deal I found on The Shopping Channel many years ago.

They’re a little pricey but Jamie Kern Lima, the founder of IT Cosmetics, invests a lot of time and research into her products which is why you don’t see them launching new products all the time. I have been a big IT Cosmetics makeup fan but surprisingly have never tried any of their skincare until recently when I got to try out their Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream, Confidence in an Eye Cream, and Confidence in a Cleanser.

The Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream is ultra-hydrating and clinically tested to help repair, rejuvenate and restore your skin to give it a softer, smoother and more youthful appearance. The concentrate contains collagen and hyaluronic acid to plump up your skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, as well as niacin, peptides, a super ceramide complex, as well as other active ingredients which work at smoothing out texture, hydrating and enhancing firmness.

Ingredients: WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, GLYCERIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRYLATE/DICAPRATE, ETHYLHEXYL ISONONANOATE, HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC/MYRISTIC/STEARIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERYL STEARATE, PEG-100 STEARATE, POLYGLYCERYL-3 METHYLGLUCOSE DISTEARATE, STEARYL BEHENATE, DIMETHICONE, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRAETHYLHEXANOATE, BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1, DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, PALMITIC ACID, STEARIC ACID, POLYETHYLENE, PEG/PPG-20/15 DIMETHICONE, PHENYL METHICONE, PORTULACA OLERACEA EXTRACT, COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) OIL, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER, HYDROXYETHYL ACRYLATE/SODIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE COPOLYMER, SODIUM HYALURONATE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, POLYQUATERNIUM-51, NIACINAMIDE, HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, CARBOMER, PEG-150 DISTEARATE, CERAMIDE AP, GLYCOSPHINGOLIPIDS, GLYCERYL POLYMETHACRYLATE, MEADOWFOAM ESTOLIDE, SORBITAN ISOSTEARATE, SQUALANE, PALMITOYL PENTAPEPTIDE-4, POLYSORBATE 20, STEARETH-20, N-HYDROXYSUCCINIMIDE, CHRYSIN, PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-1, PALMITOYL TETRAPEPTIDE-7, POLYSORBATE 60, ALEURITIC ACID, YEAST EXTRACT, GLYCOPROTEINS, BETAINE, HYDROGENATED POLYDECENE, CERAMIDE NP, ALLANTOIN, COLLOIDAL OATMEAL, RETINYL RETINOATE, POLYLACTIC ACID, CANOLA OIL, CHOLESTERYL NONANOATE, ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA (MATRICARIA) FLOWER WATER, CURCUMA LONGA (TURMERIC) ROOT EXTRACT, LEUCONOSTOC/RADISH ROOT FERMENT FILTRATE, ERUCA SATIVA LEAF EXTRACT, GLYCERYL CITRATE/LACTATE/LINOLEATE/OLEATE, CETEARETH-20, HYDROXYPROPYL BISPALMITAMIDE MEA, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) STEROLS, MELALEUCA ALTERNIFOLIA (TEA TREE) LEAF OIL, PHYTOSTERYL/ISOSTEARYL/CETYL/STEARYL/BEHENYL DIMER DILINOLEATE, SANTALUM ALBUM (SANDALWOOD) OIL, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA (MATRICARIA) FLOWER OIL, CAPRYLHYDROXAMIC ACID, CETEARYL GLUCOSIDE, GLUCOSE, STEARYL STEARATE, TROMETHAMINE, CITRIC ACID, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, CHLORHEXIDINE DIGLUCONATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL, CITRUS PARADISI (GRAPEFRUIT) PEEL OIL, CYMBOPOGON CITRATUS LEAF OIL, PELARGONIUM GRAVEOLENS OIL, CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) PEEL OIL, POGOSTEMON CABLIN OIL, CITRUS AURANTIUM BERGAMIA (BERGAMOT) FRUIT OIL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, CARAMEL, DISODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANOL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL.

The Swatches:

L-R: Confidence in an Eye Cream & Confidence in a Cream

Confidence in a Cleanser Glittery Thoughts:

The super cream and the eye cream have a medium thickness consistency which is something I prefer as the weather gets warmer. My skin has been a lot drier than usual though, so initially I was hoping that it would still hydrate my skin enough. The cleanser is super gentle and as effective as it claims at removing stubborn makeup, without stripping my skin. It has a serum-y texture and lathers softly, leaving no residue behind. I don’t need to use much of it to get the job done and I like that because the tube is going to last me a long time. The eye cream has a pinkish/peach tone to it that doesn’t really brighten up my area when I apply it but I like how it hydrates and makes my eyes look more awake and refreshed. It sinks well into the eye area so I can easily apply makeup shortly after. The moisturizer was the most surprising of all because even though its consistency was not too light but not too thick, my skin soaked this cream right up and I didn’t have that slightly greasy, sticky feeling on my skin. Initially I wasn’t sure if I was applying enough of it, but then started to realize that it just quickly sinks into your skin, leaving it feeling like your skin took a big drink. It keeps my skin feeling hydrated, more supple and fresher looking. I haven’t been too impressed by my skin lately and I feel like this super cream changes that for the better. If you’re a fan of IT Cosmetics makeup or just want to try something new this spring/summer, I would look into these Confidence products!

I admit that I don’t do much colour correcting on myself and usually just hope for my foundation and concealer to mask the redness and discoloration I have on my face. Sometimes it does help but in most cases, those areas still shine through. I finally decided to challenge myself to try to do more colour correcting when I received Make Up For Ever’s new Ultra HD Underpainting Color Correction Palette.

It’s an all-in-one colour correcting cream palette with curated shades, depending on your skin tone, to give you an even, primed complexion that is long lasting. It contains a signature combination of coated pigments, powders and a blend of emollient oils that provides a second skin, seamless effect. The collection comes in 6 shade options that range from Very Fair (what I’m reviewing here) to Deep and each palette comes with two colour correcting shades and two concealers that give you a medium to full, buildable coverage that has a natural finish.

Price: $53 CAD / Available now at MakeUpForEver.ca & Sephora

The Very Fair palette comes with a light yellow and mauve for colour correcting and I found that the light yellow was more helpful with correcting dark circles and discoloration. I don’t have any sallowness in my skin or brown spots, so I use the mauve if my freckles need to be toned down a bit but it’s not a must use for me. What I wish was in here was a light green for colour correcting my rosacea. I know there is a light green in the Light palette but it looks like it would be a tad too dark on my skin tone, so it would be nice to have a lighter, paler green as an option in this palette.

My Glittery Thoughts:

The concealers are amazing and everything I was hoping they would be. I can use both of them under my eye, although I prefer the lighter shade for brightening, and they blend as easy and as smoothly as they claim to, leaving me with a natural skin-line finish. I prefer applying them with my finger or dabbing it on with a brush and blending it out with a sponge and both ways creates a natural, smooth finish. With the light yellow and concealer over top, my under eyes and the discoloured areas on my face look like I have never ever had to deal with any imperfections because they make my skin look like it was airbrushed to perfection. The consistency of all of the creams are very lightweight, buildable in coverage and creamy. They are long lasting as long as you use a setting powder because they don’t completely dry down and will transfer.

All in all, I’ve found my new favourite concealing palette because the results look so natural and everything melts beautifully into my skin. I would love to see them come out with more colour correcting options so I can swap out the mauve for a pale green but other than that, I’m in love!

When I think of bold, vibrant eyeshadows, I think of Make Up For Ever. They know how to come out with quality shadows in a range of finishes and colours that always provide stunning results to any makeup look. The new Artist Color Shadows immediately drew me in with the huge range of colours and finishes to choose from as well as their claim of being highly blendable with immediate colour pay off that lasts up to 12 hours.

I had the chance to try out a couple shadows from the collection and I found myself instantly drawn to the blues in the collection. They looked so stunning and vibrant, so I asked to receive ME-230, a metallic peacock blue and D-236, a sea blue shade with a diamond/glittery finish.

Price: $22 ea. / 2.5 g / Available now at Sephora

My Glittery Thoughts:

Wow, wow, wow! Seeing them in person blows you away much more than online. Especially the diamond finish shadows. I love my glitter, obviously, and D-236 is everything I look for in a glittery eyeshadow. The colour is strong and the sparkle shows throughout and the blendability is amazing and very easy. Even the metallic eyeshadow, ME-230 is vibrant, very smooth to apply and works really well with other shadows. Since they are very vibrant colours, they will dye your eyelids so that is something to consider when buying one of the brighter shades. Overall, if you love colour and playing with fun shadows and finishes that offer smooth, intense colour then you won’t regret getting your hands on the new Artist Color Shadows!

What do you think of the new Make Up For Ever Artist Color Eyeshadows? Which shades would you get?! Share your thoughts below!

It’s been a while since I’ve done makeup full-time and used Embryolisse, so it felt like a nice reunion when I was sent a package containing the magical mult-tasking maven.

Lait-Crème Concentrè is a 24-hour miracle cream that contains aloe vera and shea butter which help restore the skin’s natural glow and boosts tired, dehydrated skin. It can also be used as a moisturizing face mask, after-shave balm and cleanser.

Every time I head to Walmart, I always take a stroll through the makeup department. This stroll always includes a stop by Hard Candy, which has expanding their line of products and there always seem to be some surprises from them along the way. Which is exactly what happened when I found this collection of unicorn and mermaid inspired makeup just before Halloween. There was not much I could do at that point but buy everything I could and I’ve been dreaming of unicorns & mermaids ever since.

From L-R: Starry Night – blue-green shimmer, Twinkle – coral pink shimmer, Fairy Wings – dark blackened purple shimmer

Hard Candy‘s unicorns & mermaids collection includes a bunch of pastel and fun shades in everything from eyeshadows to highlighters to lip top coats. And if you’re like me and are bored of seeing the usual colours in highlighters and lip sticks/glosses, this is the collection for you. The first bunch of products that immediately caught my eye were the Wet Ever Unicorn Lip Top Coats ($6 US / $8 CAD / Available while supplies last exclusively at Walmart).

My Glittery Thoughts:

They have lots of glitter in them and Starry Night applies a bit more sheer compared to the others, but they’re fun to wear over lipstick to create a fun glittery lip. They dry down quickly, feel really comfy and light weight so they’re great for layering. Twinkle is perfect for anyone looking for less glitter and more shimmer in their top coats.

From L-R: Prism – white with opalescent shimmer, Aura – light purple with pink and blue shimmer, Moonbeam – light sea blue with green shimmer, Stardust – light pink with soft opalescent shimmer

The other items I picked up were the Just Glow! Illuminating Liquid ($6 US / $8 CAD / Available while supplies last exclusively at Walmart), liquid luminizers that will make your cheeks, or anywhere you want to apply a cool highlight, pop with an ethereal glow.

My Glittery thoughts:

It comes with a nice nail polish-like wand that makes for easy application and the colours are beautiful. You can apply them anywhere or mix them into your moisturizer or foundation for a glow that even unicorns would be jealous of. They’re also very buildable but I found that Moonbeam is the most pigmented from the get go, so you only need just a tiny bit of it to give your skin a pretty mermaid goddess hue. They also set really quickly, so don’t waste too much time with applying them where you want them.

****

If you can still find them at your local Walmart and you love colour and like trying new things, the Unicorns & Mermaids collection is worth every penny!

Hey Glitter Babes!

I’m SO excited to share that I’m BACK on YouTube again! Last year, I started getting the bug to make my return to YT and have been planning and preparing ever since and the day has finally arrived! I went ahead and changed all of my old videos to private because, aside from being really old, they don’t represent who I am and what I want my channel to be. But, I will soon be filling up my videos list with tons of fun and educational videos on makeup and all things beauty.

So for my first order of YouTube business, I’ve created a pink glittery and glam makeup tutorial. It features a fierce cut crease, extreme winged liner, tons of highlighter, and a glossy red lip. If you want to make a statement this V-Day and impress the socks off that special person in your life, then this is the look to go for!
