Alt-Rnb singer-songwriter Auguxt submitted his latest single “Tension” last week and we were swept off of our feet with the Jaden Smith-esque vocals and smooth melodies. The Boston native put out a Self Titled EP that included the slow ballad that made us take a second look. It’s clear that his inspirations are in the same wave of nearby Toronto, as his ep pays homage to artists like PartyNextDoor and Roy Woods.

Tune in to the Alt-RnB scenes next big thing below:

Nashville artist Brian Brown makes relatable music about the ups and downs of everyday life. Discussing his discontent with his 9 to 5 job and feelings of stagnation Brian discusses the tumultuousness of his life highlighting some of his joyful moments and most depressing times. He has the mindset of a dreamer filled with self-assurance and optimism, working towards a better life and praying that his situation improves. His uplifting anthems “Desires” and “The Dreamer’s Anthem” highlight the motivational messages found in his music.

Anticipation has been building for his upcoming album “Journey” a project which the Tennessee artist has teased for months hinting at for months announcing it last year but not giving a definitive release date. Releasing his last track “16” eight months ago Brian Brown hold listeners over with a new track in the form of a new freestyle over a Burnie Amsterdam produced beat titled “plenty of ’em”. On this exciting new track, Brian shows his effortless lyricism gliding over the warm production with an incredible flow as he whips together clever rhymes.

Maryland artist Friends4vr hits our pages with a new track titled “Blink1032”. It’s another melodic and atmospheric release from one of the smoothest rapper-singers from the DMV. Known for his ethereal sound this is yet another laidback release. Reciting the chorus to Blink 182’s hit song “All The Small Things” a classic 2000’s record held dear by many millennials, Friends4vr sings gentle vocals over a beautiful Matt McGhee and MEKILE produced beat that has a Pop-Rock melody with glossy sounds and a vibe that’s just as uplifting and intoxicating as the song it samples.

This song is so much fun. Listen to “Blink 1032” below

The dynamic duo that is composed of Fade Bully and Chrissa SJE stood out amongst the crowd of submissions we had this past week with their “Black Tee Freestyle”. It’s not normal for us to be so enthralled with an unstructured song or “freebie”, but with the energy that these two brought into our office – they were undeniable. If you are a fan of hard-hitting bars, cleverly spewed over a high octane beat, you will want to check this one out too.

Pet Zebra easily one of the best artists coming from Pittsburgh and if you aren’t up on the game, let us here at Elevator put you on. The buzzing rapper from PA has been on fire since 2017 when I first heard about him and continues to produce content that sticks in your head as much as his name itself leaving for a lasting impression.

Today, he’s back with a brand new visual, this time for his single “Money To Gold” and it’s straight bars from beginning to end. Zebra lets you know from the jump in 2019 nobody is challenging him while he plans on making his money turn into gold.

Watch the JakeMartin-directed video below and follow Pet Zebra on twitter here.

From Los Angeles, California, Emotional Oranges is a bouncy, R&B musical duo you certainly won’t want to miss out on knowing. Emerging onto the scene just last year in 2018, the two continue to stay relatively under the radar when it comes to their personal identities, leaving their music and visuals to speak lengths.

With two singles released in 2018, Emotional Oranges kick off their new year with a third song and video (with lyrics) titled “Hold You Back”. My favorite from the three, “Hold You Back” is a much slower R&B feel compared to the previous releases. The duo has further explained the guitars are inspired by Sade’s “No Ordinary Love” and the drums to Drake’s “Just Hold On, We’re Going Home”.

Pay attention to Emotional Oranges this year and play their new video to “Hold You Back” below.

Splurge is one of the Texas artists I see having an incredible 2019 seeing how he took the rap game by storm in 2018 with countless releases. Today the 17-year-old wave-maker revisits his “No Melody” project to bless us with a video for the standout track “Racks.”

Shot and directed by well know videographer Lonewolf, Splurge attacks the BeatsByJeff production as he always does, by using his signature style while Lonewolf captures and creates the perfect visual making this easily one of my favorite Splurge videos to date.

Let’s hope these two link up again in the near future, but until then press play below and enjoy.
