Hi Friends! Its Engagement Season and if you are looking for a beautiful spring engagement sesh then the time is finally right! We have had some very strange cold winter weather making it not so ideal but we’ve made it through finally and let the fun in the sun begin!
I love Alex’s wonderful light and happy demeanor which both calms and steady’s my mood. I also love her smile and the lightness she brings to life. -Corey
Corey is amazing, he’s the most loving genuine thoughtful person I never even knew existed. He is straight forward and direct, but extremely considerate. Simply amazing – Alex
Alex & Corey have this spark, and its a spark that really resinates throughout and you just get this feeling that they are totally meant to be together and have a beautiful genuine love for each other. When Alex first walked into my studio, she has this bubbly and fun personality and we were instantly hugging! HA! I met Corey for the first time at our engagement session so I was excited to meet him!
We originally were going to venture up the gorge for their spring engagement session but if you were or are in Oregon around that time, the weather gods had been giving us some crazy cold and snowy weather! so we decided to keep it closer and went to Lewis & Clark College gardens and trails. When we arrived, we were all a little surprised to see they still had snow on the ground and the reflection pond was still emptied out for the winter weather. So we decided to make the best of it of course and changed up things a bit. We got gorgeous sun rays streaming through the trees on the trails and spent most of our time in there because it was so beautiful!
They played, they kissed, they held each other, which makes for an unbelievable engagement session and I am stoked for their June wedding!
Katlyn + Nic planned a beautiful day at the Salem Convention Center last summer but first we began at Katlyn’s family ranch which is amongst the most beautiful oak grove I had ever seen! Her grandfather’s home is still on the property which is where the groom and his groomsmen got ready and Katlyn and the girls got ready in her parents home also built on the property. The views were specatcular of the valley. Katlyn + Nic had so many personal details throughout their wedding and such wonderful friends of the family that provided beautiful floral as well as wine from their friends at Left Coast Cellars.
Katlyn’s Watters Too Gown was absolutely stunning! and she wanted to wear a cathedral length veil for those “Deyla veil shots” so of course we had to play with that as well. Nic was looking pretty dapper himself with his black tuxedo from The Black Tux and despite the hot summer temps that day, he really was a trooper. He couldn’t take his eyes off of Katlyn and I’m NOT kidding when I say that their love for each other truly radiates!
After taking some photos at her family home, we all ventured off to the Salem Convention Center. I have never photographed a wedding at the Salem Convention Center before and really loved the ceremony area with the concrete floors and the floor to ceiling windows surrounding, the light in there was insane and fit their large guest count well.
Nic + Katlyn are two of the kindest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing, and getting to know them over the last couple of years has been such an honor! I am so excited to share some of our favorites from their wedding day.
I want to introduce the Parker’s! This family is absolutely adorable and they have just welcomed baby boy #4 a couple days ago and I can’t wait to meet the newest Parker boy next week!
When I first met this family, Momma Parker got out of their car and brushed herself off like a champ, because what followed her out of the car was 3 boys and she was welcoming another soon after. She’s a mom of FOUR boys!! shouldn’t there be some kind of award for that? I sure think so! I had such a great time with them at Luscher Farms in Lake Oswego and we caught the perfect weather day for it too! I mean check out these colors of the foliage! some of my favorite to date and Im proud to share a few of my favorites from their shoot.
Each boy has a different sweet personality and LOVEd getting to let them show me their best “pose”
I absolutely ADORE what I do, Im surrounded by love and meet some of the most amazing people on the planet! But what I love even more is getting to photograph a dear friends nuptials and work with some of my other dear friends & peers. Michelle and Jason were originally planning to get married in Mexico but life got ahead of them and found that time was hard to spend on wedding planning. Then the sweet Nora; owner of Bridal Bliss, mentioned there was an opening for August 18th at Oregon Golf Club and wondered if they’d want to try for it. Well with that being only 7 weeks away they couldn’t have been in better hands when it came to pulling it all off with such an incredible team of people.
Jason and Michelle met at the gym and I remember the time Michelle told me about this guy that approached her at the water fountain and asked her out to a Blazers game later that day. She never imagined she had just met the man of her dreams and the one she would spend the rest of her life with AND be parents with! yes you heard that right, they are expected baby Iosco this year and we couldn’t more excited!!
Now fast forward to their wedding, they ended up having a beautiful brunch wedding outside surrounded by their closest friends ands family and I actually got to be a guest with my husband for the later half and was so honored. They had a mimosa bar and yummy donut bar and cake along with lawn games and beautiful views from the Oregon Golf Club. It was a perfect morning and we couldn’t be more excited for their growing family and whats to come!
I am also excited to see their wedding featured inside this next issue of Oregon Bride Magazine! Go grab your copy in just about a week on the stands!
Cara & Ben are hilarious and they were so fun to photograph! We started off their engagement portraits at The Portland Rose Garden and then ventured towards the waterfront in a hidden area under one of Portland’s gorgeous bridges!
These two are two peas in a pod, they are silly and have so much love for each other. He kept telling her that she looks good in anything and whatever she does, she is always beautiful. I mean seriously! so sweet!
We will be photographing their fall wedding at Zenith Vineyard with Bridal Bliss and I cannot WAIT! Vineyards in the fall are some of my fave, especially when the leaves are changing colors on the vines, so gorgeous!
Um hello Freckles!!! this family is one of my faves, they have some of the cutest kids and love to play! We ventured over to Luscher Farms in Lake Oswego for their Fall Mini Session Portraits so the kids could have LOTS of fun things to see and do. There is an open space of course to run and a garden and chickens to check out while you are there. We even stopped by a little green house for some playtime.
This time of year is perfect for those beautiful fall portraits and especially lately! this weather has been nuts and we have been soaking up as much of it as possible with family mini sessions! The holidays are near and these Mini Sessions are perfect for updated photos to hang on your walls, holiday gifts and of course holiday cards! We have limited spots left on weekends, so contact us today to get on the schedule! Can’t wait!
