Peace of Mind Massage is a therapeutic massage center located on Old South Pearl Street in Platt Park close by to Washington Park, Cherry Creek, Capital Hill, Englewood, and central to all of Denver, Colorado. At Peace of Mind our Massage Therapists are Licensed and Certified.
As this spring season begins, often we feel the natural inclination to cleanse our space, be it our closet, home, office, garden, etc. Outside the realm of cleaning our physical homes this natural call to cleanse can be turned inward. Purification and cleansing for our bodies, our true home of the soul. We live in a miraculous world, booming with technology and endless external stimuli. What can we do to slow down and find stillness amidst the chaos? Taking time for ourselves will make it easier to step fully into a sense of clarity and pursue innovation with a clean slate. Not only would this advance us further in our pursuit of mental wellness, but it would improve aspects of how we project our intentions in physical states as well. This mentality will encourage actions of being present in our relationships, our environment, our bodies, and our minds much more attainable.
One of the benefits of being located in Denver, Colorado is all the opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Many of us who are drawn to this beautiful state adore hiking and being among the trees, sitting in a park and hearing the birds sing, and walking our beloved family pets. When time is made to connect with the natural world around us, the purity of mother nature is ever apparent. She is strong and beautiful, all while providing us clean air, resources, and serenity in abundance. By stepping outside of the hustle and bustle of the office and stresses of our own minds, we can embrace all that mother nature has to offer. We can ground our energy into her and cleanse ourselves of what is no longer serving us. Never hesitate to take a moment and recognize the beauty of the natural essence you’re surrounded by. Feel your energy connecting and being one with the immense and stable energy of Mother Earth. Think of all that you are carrying around as a ball of light and send it into the natural elements. Ask that what is no longer serving you to be transmuted and restored. After a few conscious breathes ask for mother nature to restore you to balance. Imagine your inhales bringing in a fresh life force of energy. To you, this could be a stream of white light, a gentle breeze, or a warm ray of sunshine.
If you’re unable to get outside, have no fear, you can still explore many purification practices indoors, and our healing sanctuary in the city is one of the places you can go into to find the practices, tools, and techniques to support you.
Take a moment to close your eyes, inhale deeply, and exhale fully. What do you notice? Did your shoulders drop and relax during your exhale? Did you catch a second of quietness on your inhale? Maybe, you observed a sensation in your body that had previously been unnoticed. Your breath is your most powerful tool in cleansing the body, mind, and spirit. It’s one of the most optimal ways to center ourselves. In many, if not all of our wellness workshops here at Peace of Mind, you will be invited to use the power of your breath. This is a tool we always have access to, each and every one of us, at any time, in any place. When we use this tool, we support our autonomic nervous system, allowing stress and tension to release on our exhale. With our inhale, we support many of our body systems by bringing in fresh oxygen into our blood. This not only helps with detoxifying our bodies, but rejuvenates us, simply by incorporating a conscious breath. Experience for yourself the immense power of your breath at our monthly breathwork intensive Cosmic Breathwork held on the last Sundays of each month.
Receiving regular bodywork is a rewarding and easy way to release the stresses of life. When our bodies are relaxed, our energy can move freely. Massage is known to increase circulation, improve sleep, and aid in healthy digestion. All of which help our physical bodies to self purify. Here at Peace of Mind we consider Massage Therapy to be a guided meditation in addition to a therapeutic touch modality. While we are working on you we are transmitting energy through our intentional touch. Often we will remind our clients to breathe to aid in deeper relaxation of the muscles and clearing of the mind.
Inside our conscious boutique you will find tools to aid your home practice and enhance your experience. The ancient practice of smudging is a gentle practice that enhances our beautiful sanctuary. We offer sage bundles and Palo Santo sticks for this purpose. It provides a simple way to cleanse not only your environment but your aura too! By burning these delightful aromatic plants, the gentle smoke wipes out any stagnation and negative energies that may be lingering. Paired with intention or a mantra of your choosing, this practice is sure to elevate all of the vibrations in your surroundings. You can also purify yourself and space by using crystals, which we adorn all corners of our sacred space in, and sell in our store for you to take home. We have a variety to choose from! One is certain to grab your attention. It may be just what you need to help enhance your specific intentions and needs. For cleansing and purification, one of our favorites is selenite. We carry this beautiful white stone in wand form. This makes it easy to use for self massage or as a gorgeous piece to bring clarity to your environment.
Let us know some of your favorite ways to find clarity, and if you have tried any of our favorites! Until then, happy spring cleansing!

“It takes enormous courage to allow yourself to remember”.
–The Body Keeps the Score
When we think of trauma or Post traumatic stress disorder, a lot of the time we imagine a person who has lived through a war, either as a combat veteran or a victim of brutality and repetitive abuse. We often times don’t see ourselves as survivors of trauma, it takes many years to come to terms with our experience with trauma. We tend to overlook ourselves and our experiences, believing that what we have lived through does not warrant a closer look. Trauma can manifest through an experience with losing a loved one, it can be heavy guilt over not being able to change a situation or it can be witnessing or even hearing about something horrible that affects us deeply.
An estimated 70 percent of adults in the United States have experienced a traumatic event at least once in their lives and up to 20 percent of these people go on to develop Post traumatic stress disorder.
Women are about twice as likely as men to develop PTSD.
Extreme trauma is a terrifying ordeal or event that a person has experienced, witnessed or learned about, especially one that is life-threatening or causes physical harm.
In the most basic sense, without over labeling or intensely analyzing trauma or PTSD, it is when one “suffers from memories”. We as humans are constantly emerged in what is known as the thought stream. It can be almost addicting to constantly listen and attend to the “voice in the head”. Most of the time we do not even realize we are engaging with it because we have been doing so most of our lives. Some of these thought patterns come from the subconscious mind, which is actually 5/6 of our brain! Our conscious mind makes up only 1/6 of our entire brain, so you can imagine how much of our lives is operated from the deep oceans of the subconscious!
It is actually found that every time you have a memory, it is changed just a little bit from the original experience. What we remember changes each time we recall the event, making memories more like a story than a file. With each re-call we attach emotional details, so when the story is altered feelings are also reshaped. This means that, as you change, so do your memories (Psychology today).
What this could mean is that we have more power in overcoming trauma than we think! If the memory that a person relives and causes them stress is not actually “real”, and is altered slightly based on who they are moment to moment and year to year, there has to be an ability to change these memories for the betterment of the self! At the core of recovery is self-awareness. Trauma may cause people to live with unbearable physical sensations: the feeling of being heartbroken and the suffering of intolerable sensations in the pit of the stomach, as well as tightness or a heavy weight on the chest. Yet trying to avoid or numb these sensations in our bodies causes us to be overwhelmed by them. Having body awareness is key and puts us in touch with our inner worlds. By simply noticing emotions and feelings we begin to shift our outlook and perception of them and the world around us. (The body keeps the score).
The Pain-Body is another concept brought to the light in “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle. This is the idea that most of us have a semiautonomous energy-form that lives within us. It is like an entity made up of emotional baggage. It feeds off of the negativity of situations and other people. It is why we can fall into negative talk with ourselves and others and we can almost take on another persona when the pain-body is active. The emotions from traumatic events can be stored here and be reignited at the slightest perceived threat. There is said to be pain-bodies for genders, races and countries. Becoming fully aware and conscious of the pain-body is the most effective way of disengaging and breaking from identification with it.
There are many roads to healing and what works for one person is their own special and unique experience. Massage therapy and its’ myriad of modalities can offer much in the way of personal healing. Some of the therapies that we offer at Peace of Mind Sacred Wellness that specifically works with trauma are CranioSacral Therapy and Myofascial Release Therapy. These are two different, but closely related therapies that target the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. When working with trauma, it’s important to be aware of all of the layers – physical, emotional, mental, energetic – and how they effect one another. In the Yogic philosophy these layers are known as Koshas.
CranioSacral therapy works with the client to access the deeper parts of ourselves to allow healing as the client needs it to happen, peeling off the layers much like an onion. Sometimes this can happen in complete silence and other times dialoging and imagery become a part of the session. The therapist’s job is to stay completely neutral and allow the client to come to their own resolutions and findings. This therapy has been very successful with people from different walks of life, with different issues such as PTSD, autism, concussions, migraines and TMJD to name just a few.
Myofascial Release therapy is another wonderful modality in accessing the deeper meaning and root underneath pain patterns and dysfunction. Here is a brief description by the creator of Myofascial release, John Barnes on how this incredible therapy can help with trauma:
“It has been demonstrated consistently that when a myofascial release technique takes the tissue to a significant position, or when myofascial unwinding allows a body part to assume a significant position three dimensionally in space, the tissue not only changes and improves, but memories, associated emotional states and belief systems also rise to the conscious level. This awareness allows the individual to grasp the previously hidden information that may be creating or maintaining symptoms of behavior which deter improvement. With the information now at the conscious level, the individual is in a position to learn what holding or bracing patterns have been impeding progress. This release of the tissue, emotions and hidden information create an environment for change that is both conscious and effective”. These modalities have been very effective in overcoming anxiety and pain patters that have their roots and origins in trauma.
The beautiful truth is that trauma does not make you who you are, but is an experience that allows you to look deeper into your true nature. At such a pivotal point in our evolution as humans, now is the time to step into our full power and know that we are capable of being fully healed and that all that is missing is remembering the tools to access this potential we all carry.
In addition to bodywork for trauma, the workshops offered here at Peace of Mind are another way to promote self-growth, body-mind awareness and deep healing. Join us this month for Spring Womb Clearing; A 3 day Immersion for Women. In this workshop, we will be focusing on trauma specific to women and the womb space. The womb is one of the energy centers in the body and trauma related to our sexuality is stored here. This workshop will include community, Sattva Yoga techniques, and ceremony for healing, connection, and liberation.
We have multiple workshops and immersive retreats for trauma, check out our calendar to see whats coming up. We also employ multiple Massage Therapists who specialize in Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, and other modalities that can assist you on your healing journey. To find Sattva Yoga workshops in Denver look no further than Peace of Mind Sacred Wellness located in West Washington Park/Platt Park nearby Cherry Creek, Englewood, Baker, and central to all of Denver, Colorado.
What does it mean to be both dynamic and still? Cosmic and grounded? The experience and the experiencer? This is the practice of Sattva Yoga. It is not a routine of postures, a series of breathing exercises, nor a puritanical religion. It is the exploration of Self through both deep silence and fearless expression. It is the stripping away of conditioning to reveal our True Self, our true essence nature and to become intimate with that Self which has always been there, and will aways remain. It is not a tireless mission to punish and eliminate the Ego, but the compassionate, objective observation of it. It is Self study leading us to Self mastery.
Sattva is one of the three gunas(virtues/attributes) in the Yogicphilosophy. The word means “light,” “whole” and “purity” in Sanskrit. Sattva Yoga is a holistic lifestyle, a conscious way of living. From the moment you wake in the morning to when you sleep, the Sattva practice teaches you applicable ways of being in the yogic state on and off the mat. This includes: Beginning your day with sacred rituals, filling your body with nourishing Sattvic food for optimal health, relating with others with the intent to evolve, checking in with the content in your consciousness, practicing silence and stillness in addition to dynamic movement. Sattvic individuals strive to deepen, strengthen and mature the soul.
Sattva Yoga was created by Anand Mehrotra, Himalayan Guru and Yoga Master. The Sattva practice combines the teachings from the Vedic and Tantric traditions, as taught by the ancient masters. Anand has dedicated his life to honoring the pure knowledge and wisdom of the Himalayas, and to protecting the integrity of the powerful techniques contained in these ancient practices. Anand developed Sattva Yoga as a method through which people of all backgrounds, cultures and experiences can discover and embrace their true nature. It is a practice relevant for the modern times, yet Sattva Yoga is not just simply a practice. It’s a profound journey of personal evolution that, when committed to, will guarantee to transform an individual’s life. It’s an integrated approach that includes powerful techniques of; pranayama, Tantric Kriyas, Kundalini, Vinyasa flows that channel energy, Chi movements and the Sattva Meditation technique. Yoga, as intended by Anand, is not just a practice, it is an experience of transformation where the individual can step into their highest self to experience pure freedom. His teachings are whole, inclusive and all embracing, developed to meet the challenges of the era in which we live.
At Peace of Mind you’ll often see our workshops referred to as Sattva Tantra workshops. We now know that the word Sattva can be translated to the word “pure”. What is Tantra? Tantra can be translated to the word “expansion”. Sattva Tantra workshops are designed for you to cleanse and purify your body and mind so that you may expand your consciousness beyond self imposed limitations from conditioning. You may have heard that Tantra is a sexual practice. Tantric practices may improve your sex life, but only because of what it does to help you get in touch with your own body and your own energy. In Sattva Tantra workshops we will work on the subtle energies within the body to enhance spiritual growth and physical wellbeing.
Sattva Tantra Yogic Workshops - YouTube
Partner work is a aspect of the Sattva practice that is not always brought in but when it is, has a powerful, unifying effect. The intention behind this work is for beings to connect beyond the physical realm by deepening into true authentic intimacy. To meet and embrace one another on the level of the soul. To see one another as the sacred mirror, reflecting back our Oneness, our inter-connectedness. Sattva can also be translated as “whole”. This practice brings you into the state of wholeness, as an individual and collectively. Yoga can be translated to “Unity”. Sattva Yoga is pure unity. It is the unification from within, therefore allowing us to unify with the other from a deep state of Wholeness.
The Sattva practice is so vast in its effects on all levels of the body – physical, emotional, mental, energetic – that it lends itself to many of the conditions that are universal to the human experience. That is why, at Peace of Mind, we curate workshops for specific themes and topics. Our founder and Sattva Yoga Instructor, Elena, feels into the collective consciousness when coming up with what to offer. She loves collaborating with other Teachers, some of who are also trained in Sattva Yoga, but some of who are offering different practices such as Cacao Ceremonies, Sound Healing, and Shamanic Journeying which all can be supported and enhanced by the effectiveness of the Sattva Yoga Techniques. Some of the Sattva workshops we’ve offered so far have been: Secrets of the Sri Yantra, Defeating Depression, Overcoming Anxiety, Transcending Fear, and Lifting the Veil. When you come to a Sattva workshop you’ll never quite know what to expect. Expect the unexpected. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable. Come with open mind, heart, and hands. This openness will give you exactly what it is you are meant to receive through this practice. You can not do Sattva Yoga wrong. Even if you find yourself feeling frustrated, the frustration is the practice. This practice will challenge you in ways that you might not have been challenged in other yoga classes. Embrace the challenge, Sattva teaches us not to deny any feeling that arises as it is all relevant.
When talking about what you can expect to receive from Sattva Yoga, also consider what it is you can offer. Can you offer your full presence? Can you offer your full commitment? Can you offer your full awareness? Show up to the practice the way in which you’d like to show up in your life, and start living your life in its fullness now!
Join a Sattva Tantra workshop and experience for yourself the purification, unity, and expansion that is Sattva Yoga…

For as long as humans have been on the Earth, women have bled. Before the advent of electricity and the modernization of civilization, humans looked to the sky for the signals of the cycles of nature, namely, to the moon. The moon was our first calendar, and women were the first keepers of time as each month they bled in synchronization with the moon. This was a sacred time. Many ancient cultures revered the blood as the fountain of life, the holy grail, the primordial substance that we all came from. The Maori believed that human souls are made of menstrual blood, which when retained in the womb assumes human form and grows into a man. Native Americans of South America said all mankind was made of moon blood in the beginning. Aristotle even said human life is made of coagulum of menstrual blood. With our humanity so clearly rooted in the sanctity of women’s menstruation, it’s hard to believe that we are where we are today: in a society where this blood is taboo, dirty, or shameful and women who are menstruating are wild, crazy, angry, or bitchy. But a grassroots movement of women’s circles have been working to reclaim women’s cycles as natural, life giving, and sacred.
Every New Moon, Red Tents around the world gather together to celebrate menstruation, and its potent transformative power in the lives of all women on Earth. The Red Tent comes from the idea that women, before the rise of patriarchal society, gathered together in a “tent”, where they would bleed unto the Earth together. When there was no artificial light confusing circadian rhythms, the women bled in sync together with the moon at the darkest point in its cycle. The men and children respected that the women of the tribe or village needed this alone time in the tent, as they needed rest and nourishment while their bodies bled.
This was a time that women needed not just for physical nourishment, but also spiritual nourishment. Using rituals sacred to women, they honored the passing of their cycle. Something was always shed with the blood, and something was always reclaimed in preparation for ovulation. They told their stories: of love, heartbreak, sexuality, creativity, grief, birth, life, and death. Women gave birth in the red tent, with midwives and wise women assisting and supporting. Women danced, sang, created, and dropped into their feminine nature in the red tent, honoring their cycle as a time of celebration. It was a place where the mysteries of the female experience were handed down, mother, to daughter, to granddaughter. It was a place where the Goddess, the Divine Feminine principle, was given reverence and respect.
In the wake of our menstrual-phobic society, the red tents were lost. Women scarcely have spaces to even talk about their menstrual lives, besides in the doctor’s office. The magic of women’s cycles have been reduced to their childbearing capabilities, with no acknowledgement of the processes they undergo each month in silence and secret. Some women are even barred from being around their families or engaging in sexual activity during this time. But the modern Red Tent seeks to change all of this.
Each month, in the Red Tent, women gather to reclaim those rituals together. Each woman knows, deep in her womb, what the Red Tent is the moment she enters the space. The smell of fragrant herbs burning, the red pillows and fabric adorning the walls and floor, the images of the goddess on the altar, the succulent fruit and chocolate waiting to be eaten, and the dim light of candles lit all around bring her back to this ancient place within. The Red Tent is like the womb. In this space, women shed together that which is no longer serving them, that which holds them back, just as their uterus sheds the lining that would have nourished a new life. Women share their stories, and support other women in their own unique experience. We learn to look across the circle at the other women gathered with us not with jealousy, scorn, or rejection, but with love and acknowledgment that she too is a sister, a sacred part of the spiral of life. In the Red Tent, women reclaim that which they want to create or bring into their life, just as each month after menstruation ends their ovaries will release another egg, a potent new beginning of a potential life. Women remember their ancient ways in the Red Tent, that menstruation is a beautiful part of womanhood that will no longer be hidden, hated, or shamed. With this perspective, we witness miracles in the Red Tent. Women who struggle to get pregnant finally conceive after working with their monthly cycle and seeing their body in a new way. Women who have experienced cycles of unbearable pain see it all disappear once they learn to truly tune in to what their womb is telling them.
There is power in the cycle, and how it intertwines with everything a woman will experience in her life is what we seek to remember in the red tent. There is a prophecy, thought to have come from the Hopi Nation, that when all women are giving their blood back to the Earth, there will be peace on Earth again. In the Red Tent, we seek to fulfill this prophecy, reconnecting women to the sanctity of their raw, physical experience and giving gratitude to Earth for gifting us with the power to bring life into the world. One by one, women are remembering the old way of honoring themselves, their blood, and their lives, and one by one, bringing that Peace back to the land.
If you are interested in joining in and experiencing the magic of the Red Tent, join us around the New Moon each month at Peace of Mind Sacred Wellness from 6:30-9pm to reclaim your space in the circle. Let us reintroduce ourselves. Along with many this year, we are welcoming 2019 with open arms as we transition into something that has been brewing for quite some time now. Ever since we first opened our doors in 2009 our mission has been to be a resource for people through all walks of life. Reaching anyone who has felt the need to revive their ability to feel their best on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. While this mission remains true, we are breaking the boundaries to the means of how we get there. In the last year, Peace of Mind has been expanding beyond massage; offering monthly workshops such as women’s and men’s gatherings, Sattva Tantra Yogic workshops, cacao ceremonies, and more. We’ve had workshops themed around defeating depression, overcoming anxiety, transcending fear, and removing the masks we often wear when relating with the world. They have been powerful and transforming the energy in our space, and we’ve been moved to celebrate our 10th year in business by re-branding to reflect the sacred space in which we operate and the sacred nature of the work that we get to do with people here.
The workshops we offer vary from gentle, reflective yoga nidra meditations and sound healing to powerful, transformative Sattva Yoga techniques that break the mold and ask us to evolve through physical movements, healing mantras, and breathwork. These Sattva techniques are rooted in the Vendantic and Trantric traditions of the Himalayas and our founder, Elena, has brought them to Denver to open all of us to trust and unconditional love that is in each and every one of us. More on Sattva Yoga in an upcoming blog soon! Our workshops are self-exploratory as well as being a space for community connection. The space only holds up to 15 people and promotes a intimate cozy environment for which to share, connect, and transform collectively. All of our workshops are hosted by Peace of Mind’s amazing staff and other like-minded local facilitators. The foundation of all of our workshops revolve around the concept of accessing your inner light and using that as a guide to dance through life in a way that is truly beneficial and healing for not only yourself, but for all of those that surround you. We do this by digging deep into what it means to be human and healing anything that is preventing you from setting yourself free. Each workshop has its unique way of exploring the different levels of the healing process and allowing you to express yourself, no matter where you are in your journey.
Sometimes one workshop isn’t enough. While it can stimulate growth and new levels of consciousness, it can often leave you hungry for more which is why we are integrating Workshop Series on Monday nights. Monday Night Workshop Series differ from Weekend Workshops in the sense that the Series will be once a week for a month. Each month there will be a different theme we are focusing on. The theme is based off what time of year it is, following the natural rhythms of nature and what we can do to strengthen our connection with the world around us. For example, January we are focusing on regaining clarity and momentum through meditation to start the year off as intentional as possible. While February will be focusing on coming into wholeness by coming into a greater relationship with our divine masculine and feminine energy. These Workshop Series will allow consistency to truly promote the change that is necessary to evolve.
From The Red Tent women’s circle held monthly
Both of our Weekend Workshops and Monday Night Workshop Series will promote the activation of our intuition to help guide us, which we believe is crucial for the healing process. Of course, we still value the aspect of working with healers one on one. Massage Therapy and its wide range of modalities is still our #1 service, but we are happy to announce that we’re adding some additional offerings.
We are welcoming back the intuitive guidance of Astrologer, Adrianne Tamar Arachne. We have offered Astrology and Tarot readings before and are so excited to welcome it back on our schedule on Thursday nights from 4-8pm. Our resident astrologer, Adrianne is a highly knowledgable and the way she communicates this vast knowledge is accessible, uplifting, and stimulating. Taking time to reflect on what the cosmos have to say and how we can incorporate that into our lives can promote radical change on a very personal level.
To deepen into the yogic path we are now offering private and semi private yoga sessions. Our founder, Elena is providing private Sattvaga sessions on Friday nights from 4-8pm. She will be personalizing the Sattva teachings in a way that is purely reflective of you and will give you tools to use when stagnation occurs in day to day life. All of which perfectly complements the group work that is being held during our monthly workshops. Consistent practices through our workshops and private sessions will truly bring change to your life like you’ve never experienced before. Change is nothing to be feared but rather explored and conquered by mastering ourselves one layer at a time. Our mission is to be a resource for people and now more than ever we can heal, grow, and flourish in a way we never have before. In addition to the Sattva teachings, we have another talented Yoga Teacher, Dana on our schedule who is offering Yoga nidra, Yin, and Sound healing sessions which can be booked on her schedule Sunday-Wednesday. We can accommodate up to 6 people in a private session, so bring a friend and split the cost, or come alone for a personalized session just for you.
So, without further ado, whether you are new to Peace of Mind or if you have been coming to us from the beginning, we are so thankful to have you here and welcome you to Peace of Mind Sacred Wellness. We’re celebrating our 10th year anniversary and re-brand with a big bash coming up this weekend, on January 12th. Stop by, get a free chair massage, tarot reading, eat some snacks, mingle with us and learn more about all that we are doing to be a place of peace in our beloved community.
With all our love,
The Peace of Mind Family

Red Tent Gathering (women only):
Red Tent Gathering
Our Red Tent Denver is a Sisterhood Tent of the Our Red Tent and Red Tent Temple Movement inspired by memories of the menstrual huts of our ancient past. Sisters of Denver, you are invited to join us in circle and ceremony each month on the New Moon to shed and reclaim, to support and be supported in a network of authentic relationships with your fellow womben. The Red Tent is a safe space where Womben come to share the stories of their wombs — stories of our blood, birth, sexuality, love, heartbreak, sickness, health, celebration, grief, shadows, healing and recovery as we journey through this life in the female vessel. Come and share your skills, your wisdom, and share your heart in the Red Tent. We give our blood back to the Earth in the Red Tent. No longer do we hide our blood in bathrooms and trashcans, we reclaim the power of its non-violent nature and feed Gaia with it as she feeds us. With our blood giving, our brothers, fathers, and lovers will find no more that they need to spill each other’s blood in violence. Gaia wants our blood and in the Red Tent, we make it sacred and feed her with our peace and healing intentions. We create community in the Red Tent. Too often in our culture, we are subliminally messaged with ideas that women can only bring each other down, that we must compete to be the most popular, the prettiest, the most successful. In the Red Tent, we let down our barriers. We honor our differences and know that we gather to release our judgements on how a woman is supposed to be. So step out of the box and into the circle! We can’t wait to meet you! For more information on the Our Red Tent movement, go to www.ourredtent.com
Secrets of the Sri Yantra: A Sattva Tantra Yoga Workshop
In the yogic tradition, sacred geometry is used as a form of meditation and contains powerful and transcendent energies. The Sri Yantra represents all of creation and the energy of the sacred feminine or Shakti. When we learn to connect to this energy as men and women, we are able to let our full creative expression of Shakti shine forth.
In this workshop we will come together to connect with each other and our deepest inspiration as you are guided through different rituals and meditation techniques stemming from the Tantric tradition.
Through transcendental practices, wisdom, mantras, and more we will activate our connection with Sri Yantra and invoke those qualities to rise forth from within. Come and join us in a cosmic evening spent embodying Sri (Shakti)!
Your guides are Devi Elena Rose and Annemarie Brown – Sattva Yoga Teachers who are passionate about sharing sacred practices they learned in the Himalayas.

The location is the beautiful space at Peace of Mind Massage, where every detail is designed to inspire bliss, joy, and peace.
Rest, relax, rejuvenate and breathe deep, Peace of Mind Massage is now offering the ancient tradition of Thai herbal compresses in our holistic massages. French Lavender, chamomile and eucalyptus—medicinal herbs that can soothe your mind, body and spirit. Combined with the healing touch of our skilled therapists and you have the recipe for total revitalization.
The long history of Thai herbal compresses dates back officially to the 14th century, though some claim the practice has roots that go as far back as 5,000 years. Some say the compresses were originally used to treat soldiers, while other sources cite royalty as the main recipients of this modality; still others say that Thai massage, in combination with herbal compresses was used to prepare Buddhist monks for meditation. Thai herbal compresses, or luk prakob, have made their way across the world as proof of their effects and benefits has become widespread. Peace of Mind is proud to be working with Hannah Adkins, owner and craftswoman of Thermal Herbals, to produce our custom herbal compress formula.
Lovingly handmade in Denver, Hannah blends her own unique combinations of healing herbs into her compresses. Thermal Herbals applies not only the age-old tradition of Thai herbs, but also herbs and herbal formulas from around the globe. Hannah studied traditional Thai massage and herbal compresses in Thailand; she also lives and breathes massage and the healing of mind and body. You won’t find any herbal compress like those of Thermal Herbals, and we’re confident that you won’t experience anything like our new Thai herbal compress service.
With a track record or hundreds, or perhaps even thousands of years, the many reliefs and health advantages of luk prakob have long been known by the people of Thailand and Southeast Asia. In recent years, Thai herbal compresses have even found their way into clinical studies. One such systematic review of a number of clinical studies found Thai herbal compresses to be potentially more effective than standard therapies in treating osteoarthritis and muscle pain, especially compared to the adverse side effects of many Western therapies and NSAIDs. Unrelated to massage, numerous studies also found Thai herbal compresses effective in promoting milk production in postpartum mothers with low or no milk production.
The list goes on and on for potential benefits of Thai herbal compresses and all the ailments they can address. Here are just a few.
Muscle fatigue and soreness
Stress and anxiety relief
Improves circulation of blood and the lymph system
If any of these conditions trouble you, a Thai herbal compress massage may be just the service for you. This treatment is just an additional $10 to our integrated massage rates, or $20 if you want the treatment and to take a compress home with you. Book now and learn what this ancient healing modality has to offer.

You know the dreamy, melty, satisfied feeling after a wonderful massage. You walk out into life glowing, feeling like you’re floating, carried around effortlessly by your own personal cloud. This feeling of supreme well-being is largely a result of the neurotransmitters released in your body because of the expert massage you just received—hormones like serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin—but to you it’s just bliss.
This bliss is a lovely thing. Its value cannot be measured. And after a week or two, we find ourselves wanting more. This is a welcome sign that your body has both received the benefits of massage and is craving more of the blessings of massage therapy. In 2012 we launched the monthly wellness program to satisfy those who realize the long-term benefits of consistent massage. And it is because of the success of this program and the great feedback and requests we have received that we are launching a brand new Yearly Wellness Program.
At Peace of Mind Massage, we have your wholeness and welfare in mind at all times. This is why we have created a new membership plan for our guests who are most committed to health care maintenance. Our yearly subscription allows you to “credit” yourself for monthly massages with a single, one time payment. As we post this blog, we are celebrating our 9th year in business, so rest assured we aren’t going anywhere.
Massage is health care maintenance, not just some luxury we can only give ourselves once a year. Consider the endless tasks and toils we put our bodies through daily. A lifetime of consistent wear and tear on the body is more than enough reason to maintain the balance and health of your body with regular massage. You’ve only got one life (excluding what may or may not go on in the afterlife) and one body—get the most happiness and wellness out of it that you can.
Take it from one of our loyal members, Jessica Abegg: “They are so committed to the craft and continued excellence of massage, that every time I’ve walked out of the studio transformed.”
Do we consider taking our car in for regular oil changes and check-ups a luxury? Of course not, this is simply what an automobile needs to continue to function optimally. The benefits of a single massage are multiplied when we receive massage regularly. This is best way to maximize the healing advantages of body work.
The Yearly Wellness Program works like a one-time credit account of $816, guaranteeing you at least one massage each month with the member discount of $10 off every time you come in. In addition, you can receive 10% off all of our merchandise. Best of all, for the yearly wellness plan we waive the $49 activation fee, so you can receive monthly massages at the best savings.
We’re also adding tiers to our existing Wellness Program for those who already know that 60 minutes won’t be quite enough. Introducing the Serenity and Bliss Wellness Program tiers. The Serenity Tier at $83 will cover a 75 minute session, and the Bliss Tier at $98 pays for 90 minutes. Just like the original Wellness Program (which we’re now calling the Peace Tier), the funds can be used however you please and will never expire.
The range of benefits of massage are so vast and expansive, it’s a wonder that regular massages aren’t included in our list of other health-related practices like regular exercise and healthy eating. Some (not nearly all) of the benefits of massage include improvement of: depression, skin conditions, pain syndromes including arthritis and fibromyalgia, hypertension, autoimmune conditions and multiple sclerosis, breast cancer and aging problems including Parkinson’s and dementia.
Don’t delay on your body’s health care maintenance, sign up for our Yearly Wellness Program and bring yourself in for a regular tune up. We’ll get you functioning and feeling at your best.

February comes and we start to see hearts, roses, red balloons and chocolates around every corner, every checkout of every grocery store, every commercial, billboard, and bus stop kiosk. Love seems to be the unofficial word of the month in February. At Peace of Mind Massage, we have a new word (or two) to spread. We have declared February the month of Self Love.
The Self Love special (only through February 10-18) is a treatment you are not going to want to miss out on. One of our gifted and attuned certified massage therapists will regale you with a very special hand and foot treatment. Forget about eating your chocolate (well, you can still do that too), we have crafted a chocolate infused body butter to leave your skin feeling nourished, balanced and satisfied. This body pudding will be sold while available in our store. But it doesn’t stop there. Patrons will also receive a warm towel, a rose, and a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling cider with their treatment.
But why let it end with a hand and foot massage? Stay and enjoy the charms and unique shops of South Pearl Street. We have partnered with several shops just down the block so you can enjoy a day out, just for yourself, or with someone special. Sweet Cow is offering a 20% discount for anyone who mentions the Self Love Special. Shine will be having an event on February 7th, also offering up to 20% off. Palizo Italiano has another great special, a glass of Prosecco, and 4 course Valentine’s Day menu for one for $68.00. All the more self love to go around.
Knowing that we book up fast during February, you can always give a friend, family member, partner, or anyone important in your life a Gift Card. There is no greater gift than massage. And this way the receiver of your gift can plan their own special day at their choosing.
Of course, we can’t forget about our Couples Massage package, the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. Look no further if you are shopping for that special someone, or if you just want to spend some quality time with a person you care about. This treatment is an exceptional way to experience the unique benefits of sharing massage with a friend, family member or loved one. This special also comes with a glass of champagne or sparkling cider as well. Make sure you book your Couples Massage now, as spots fill up very fast around Valentine’s Day.
February is important to many people for many reasons. It is National Black History Month, a time to remember the great leaders of the Civil Rights Movement and the fight for freedom and equality, both past and present. February is also: Great American Pie Month, National Bird Feeding Month, National Hot Breakfast Month, and National Grapefruit Month, just to name a few. But we hope to start a new movement and leave behind a new legacy, declaring February National Self Love Month.
So, come down to Peace of Mind Massage and let us help you open yourself to Self Love.
The holidays are a really beautiful time of year. The lights. The music. The time with family and friends. The taste of those amazing rolls your grandmother makes.
But it can also be really challenging.
Our to-do list gets way backed up.
Family is demanding our time and attention.
Finances are tight.
And the list goes on.
So how do you protect your sanity and health?
A little self-care, friends.
Self-care is an intentional practice and necessary part of living a healthy life. The better we take care of ourselves, the better we can take care of others.
While self-care may seem like just another thing to add to the to-do list, we promise it will lift your spirits and give you more positive energy.
Check out our helpful tips below to get started on a more healthful and happy holiday season!
Be present. With so much craziness during the holidays, it’s sometimes hard to just relax and enjoy the moment. Before you know it, the holidays are over and it’s already a new year. Shut off your phone. Have deep conversations. Take in the moment before it slips away.
Escape. Whatever that means for you, remember to take a moment for yourself amidst the holiday chaos. Maybe that means walking in nature. Or meditating. Or grabbing a cup of tea and heading to the back porch for some fresh air.
Simpify. If that means buying all things store-bought for the big family dinner, so be it. Keeping things simple can allow you to refocus and spend energy on other special moments.
Relax. Whether you relax in a bubble bath at home with some Savitur Botanicals essential oils, or book a massage for yourself, there’s power to slowing down and recognizing the importance of having a peaceful moment. A massage lowers your blood pressure, gets those “feel-good” hormones flowing, and it opens your body’s pathways for healing.
Say no. Sometimes the holiday stress is too much because we take on everything. It’s okay to set boundaries and say no. We only have so much energy to give, and give well. Protect your time for what your heart really desires.
Some other self-care advice:
Starting your day with meditation or prayer can help you feel grounded. A daily gratitude list where you list three things you’re grateful for every morning can encourage a positive outlook on life.
Move your body every day. Studies show daily exercise improves mental, emotional and physical well-being. Walking, stretching, doing yoga or running are all healthy exercise options.
Connect daily with others. Whether in person or through a text or call, it will curb any of those lonely holiday feelings.
