This afternoon at Thirsk, Danny achieved an incredible milestone by securing is 1000th UK flat winner. Danny Tudhope has been riding for us since 2011, with his first winner being on board a horse called King’s Counsel.
During the past 8 years, 413 of his winners have been for the yard not to mention our joint successes in Ireland, France and the US. Therefore for the landmark to be reached on board our own Ingleby Hollow, at Danny’s local track, with his family there to witness was excellent. He is extremely talented and a massive asset to the yard.
With 26 Group race winners under his belt, as a yard we would like to Congratulate Danny on this wonderful achievement!
We sent a small team of 5 horses down to the Investec Derby Festival meeting at the weekend. All horses ran well but it was Watchable, 9 years young, who closed Investec Derby day with a win, making all to break the track record over 6 furlongs !!
Watchable has a great team of enthusiastic owners who were on hand to celebrate the emphatic win. A great day was had by all and it was lovely that so many of his owners could enjoy it.
Watchable is ridden out every day by our Travelling Head Di Jackson, needless to say there was a few tears coming from her direction!
Makawee, a lovely four year old Farhh filly out of Storming Sioux, provided the yard with our second York winner this season. Owned by Mr and Mrs Turnbull, the filly sat just behind the leaders on the rail and travelled very nicely into the race. Makawee is a progressive filly and it was excellent to see her win the Jigsaw Sports Branding Handicap under a hands and heels ride from Danny Tudhope. Regular rider Charlotte Mulhall was on hand to lead the filly into the winners enclosure!!
Full Authority, our 2 year old Kingman colt bought at Tattersalls Book 1 sale by Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah, had his first run at Chester Boodles May Festival today.
Drawn in stall 3, he broke well and maintained the rail quickening away under Danny Tudhope very impressively to win by 6 lengths. He is a 2 year old we have always thought a great deal of so we are delighted he was able to show his talent on only his first start.
On the first day of the Boodles May Festival at Chester we sent Great Dame, a two year old filly, to run in the Stellar Group Lily Agnes Conditions Stakes. Having only her third start Great Dame went to Chester on the back of a lovely win at Ripon. The Dandy Man filly made all to win well under Danny Tudhope on ground which she hadn’t previously encountered. It was great to see Great Dame step up from her first win and give all of her connections a day they wont forget.
Leodis Dream, our only other runner at Chester yesterday, completed a brilliant double for us at the track. The 3 year old gelding, also by Dandy Man, is extremely quick. His form read 21111 before competing in the Boodles Diamond Handicap (Class 2). Leodis Dream has improved on every run he has had for us and it was lovely to see how easily he hit the front turning into the home straight.
Our third and last runner of the day saw Ollivander get his head in front under a strong ride from Conor McGovern at Southwell racecourse.
