Green Goddess is a flavorful dip made with ripe avoados, sour cream, mayonnaise, and fresh herbs. Green Goddess dip is perfect for fresh vegetables, can be served as a salad dressing, and is perfect with chips.

This famous dip has its origins in the 1920s. Created in San Fransico Hotel the Palace. It was created to honor a play, but it is hard to keep a delicious dip down. This has been a popular dip ever since its creation. It continued to be so popular Good Seasons salad dressing company made a salad dressing called Green Goddess.

Green Goddess Dip – the easy way

The original recipe has a lot of fresh herbs in it, it was made with chervil, chives, anchovy, Worcestershire sauce along with the sour cream and mayonnaise. Sometimes it can be hard to find fresh chervil and chives, this recipe is made much more simply for a delicious flavor.

This easy version has simple ingredients you are likely to have on hand already. You will need a soft and ripe avocado, mayonnaise, sour cream, parsley, green onion, seasoned salt, and salt.

To make the dip I first like to mash up the avocado with my Oxo potato masher. If you mash the avocado completely before mixing the rest of the ingredients its easy to mix everything together.

Next, you will simply mix up the dressing. You will notice that a beautiful green color will begin to bloom. The green comes from the fresh herbs and the avocado.

How to serve Green Goddess

You can use this creamy avocado dip in many different ways. You can enjoy it as a salad dressing, it is perfect with a cobb salad. You can also dip fresh vegetables like carrots, grape tomatoes, fresh broccoli, and cauliflower. It also makes a great dip for potato chips or corn chips.

Make some old-fashioned green goddess dip.

  • 1 soft, avocado (ripe)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup green onions (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  1. Mash avocado, add sour cream, mayonnaise, salt and seasoning salt and mix well. Fold in chopped parsley and chopped green onions.

One of my favorite spots for soup and salad is the Olive Garden. I am addicted to their salads, and they also have the most delish soups! Every time I eat at the Olive Garden I order the soup, breadsticks, and salad.

I just never get tired of their minestrone soup; it’s my absolute favorite! This homemade version is easy to put together and is a great way to get your family to not only eat their veggies but to also enjoy them! Serve your soup with garlic knots or some crusty bread for a complete meal.

What is in Olive Garden Minestrone Soup?

Every time I visit the Olive Garden, I have to get the minestrone soup. It’s full of great flavors and textures, yet it’s light enough that I still have room for the main course.
I love this copycat Olive Garden Minestrone Soup recipe because it’s loaded up with some of my favorite veggies – zucchini, spinach, carrots, green beans – with pasta and beans in a savory tomato broth. Here are a few tips for making this soup:

  • Try to cut all the veggies more or less the same size so that they cook at the same rate.
  • You can use fresh or frozen green beans, whichever you prefer.
  • It’s ok to change up the veggies depending on what you have on hand or what’s in season. Other great veggie options are russet potatoes, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, leeks, kale.
  • To get rid of all that extra sodium, be certain to drain and rinse your canned beans before adding them to the soup.
  • This is a vegan soup that is hearty enough to serve as a main course, but if you’d like more protein, add some pieces of cooked Italian sausage. You can make up a big pot of this tasty soup ahead of time.
  • You can freeze this soup, but keep in mind that the pasta and vegetables may be a little softer after thawing and reheating.

Olive Garden Minestrone Soup
If you are anything like me, you will be dipping into this pot of soup before it has even finished cooking. You will be breathing in the enticing aroma and you won’t be able to resist. Add a sprinkling of parmesan and some warm, crusty bread, and you’ve got a quick dinner that everyone is sure to love.

Olive Garden Minestrone Soup

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup white onion (diced)
  • 1/2 cup celery (diced)
  • 1/2 cup carrots (peeled, diced)
  • 1 zucchini (diced)
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 14 ounces canned diced tomatoes
  • 32 ounces vegetable stock
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 15 ounces canned small white beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 15 ounces canned kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 cup frozen green beans (You can use fresh)
  • 1/2 cup small shell shaped pasta
  • parsley for garnish
  1. Heat olive oil in a large stockpot over medium heat.

  2. When oil is hot add onions, celery, carrots, and garlic. Add a pinch of salt to help the vegetables sweat. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until the vegetables turn color and soften.

  3. Add canned tomatoes, vegetable broth, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and bay leaf to the bot. Bring to a boil and turn down to simmer.

  4. Add white beans, kidney beans, green beans, and pasta. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until the pasta and vegetables are tender.

  5. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. If desired, garnish with parsley.

Variations on this soup!

  • You can use roasted diced tomatoes for a fun flavor.
  • Consider using yellow squash instead of zucchini.
  • Add more fresh vegetables if desired.
  • If you have left over vegetables in your refrigerator consider adding them to this recipe. It’s a great way to use up left overs. (My Grandmother would call this soup “Got to Go Soup”.

    Are you looking for a great recipe for chicken salad? The Chicken Salad Chick restaurant is your answer to many different wonderful chicken salad recipes. This salad is freshly made, and full of flavor, this recipe is soon to become a favorite of yours.

    What makes Chicken Salad so good?

    I think there are a couple of different elements that makes this recipe unique. They use only chicken tenders. Chicken tenders shred wonderfully when they pulled apart after cooking. Celery is chopped super fine, so you don’t get large pieces of celery. Also, dry Ranch salad dressing mix adds a unique flavor.

    For this recipe, I have chosen to cook the chicken tenders in chicken stock. I think this adds layers of flavor into the recipe. Good quality stock is made with carrots, celery, and onion; the chicken tenders pick up some of this flavor.

    How to serve chicken salad

    If you dine at the Chicken Salad Chick you can enjoy your chicken salad in two ways. One is a scoop of chicken salad on a bed of leaf lettuce. The other way you can have chicken salad is on a sandwich, and their sandwiches come with leaf lettuce and ripe tomatoes. If you want you could serve it with crackers, or you could stuff the chicken salad inside of a tomato. It’s completely up to you.

    Chicken Salad Chick – Chicken Salad

    Make your own Chicken Salad Chick Chicken Salad Sandwich with this easy copycat recipe.

    • 1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders
    • 32 ounces low sodium chicken stock
    • 2 tablespoons finely minced celery
    • 2 teaspoons dry Ranch salad dressing mix
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1. Cook the chicken by poaching in chicken stock.  Fill a large pot with the chicken tenders and chicken stock.  Poach over medium heat for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.  

    2. Shred chicken, the chicken can be shredded with a stand mixer by using a paddle attachment.  Or you can shred the chicken tenders with two forks.

    3. In a medium sized bowl add celery, mayonnaise, dry Ranch dressing mix, salt and black pepper.  Stir until well blended.  

    4. Add shredded chicken and mix in well. Store chicken salad in an air tight container.

    5. The chicken salad tastes better if prepared a couple of hours before it is consumed.

    6. Serve in a sandwich or on a bed of lettuce.

    • For variety you can add a tablespoon or two of green bell pepper.
    • This says fresh in an airtight container for 4 days after preparation.

    This recipe is made with easy to find ingredients. This is much-loved sangria is made from:

    • Moscato
    • Ginger Ale

    Can’t find Watermelon Syrup? No Problem.

    The Olive Garden uses Monin Watermelon Syrup. I have found this at Cost Plus World Market, Bed Bath and Beyond, and at some liquor stores. If you can’t locate it, and you drink alcohol, you still can enjoy this drink, substitute the watermelon syrup for watermelon vodka. It will work very well.

    What type of Moscato should you use for the Olive Garden Watermelon Moscato Sangria?

    The Olive Garden uses Castello del Poggio Moscato. It is an Italian Moscato. The tasting notes of this Moscato are musk, peach, and white flower. If you have a Sam’s Club membership, or if you go to Total Wine, you may be able to find it there, in addition to your favorite wine store.

    You can use your favorite Moscato, since we are mixing it with Ginger Ale, and a Watermelon syrup, some of those tasting notes are muted in the final glass. I personally would use a value priced Moscato from Gallo wines.

    Non-Alcohol Version

    This recipe can be easily modified for those who do not drink. So the version without the Moscato could be served at baby showers, the younger than 21 crowds, and to anyone to abstains from alcohol. Simply omit the Moscato, and be sure to use the watermelon syrup.

    • 750 mls Moscato
    • 6 ounces Ginger Ale
    • 6 ounces Monin Watermelon Syrup
    • 4 cups ice
    • 3/4 cup sliced strawberries

    The Olive Garden is known for its amazing Alfredo Sauce. A rich and creamy Parmesan cheese sauce is made even better when paired with freshly sauteed shrimp. This recipe is perfect for when you want a dinner that is rich and decadent. Did you know it’s actually pretty easy to make this classic alfredo pasta recipe?

    Why this dish works.

    Alfredo sauce with pasta works so well because you use fresh butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese. Parmesan cheese is a dry slightly salty and nutty cheese that always adds the special touch many Italian dishes. In Alfredo shrimp pasta, shrimp is perfectly seasoned and cooked in a seasoned butter to give the shrimp a little something extra.

    Secrets for how to make a delicious shrimp alfredo
    • Use medium-size shrimp, this way you get a good bite of seafood flavor.
    • Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, you can undercook the shrimp a tiny bit, as when it is combined with the pasta it will finish cooking.
    • Use a good quality Parmesan cheese. Do not use Parmesan cheese from a can.
    • Do not overcook the pasta – Mushy pasta is not a good thing. Cook your pasta al dente.
    Tips and tricks for making Alfredo sauce
    • Use a Parmesan cheese you will grate. Pre-grated cheese has an anti-caking agent in it that may prevent the cheese from melting well.
    • Heat the butter and cream to where it bubbles before you add the cheese, it will melt better this way.
    • If you plan on having some extra sauce, do not store the sauce with the pasta, the pasta can soak up the sauce.

    Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo

    Make the Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo pasta at home. 

    Shrimp
    • 12 ounces medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
    Pasta
    • 12 ounces dry pasta
    Alfredo Sauce
    • 2 cups heavy cream
    • 4 ounces butter
    • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
    Pasta Directions
    1. Saltwater for pasta in a large pot, and bring to a boil. 

    2. Cook pasta for the time recommended on the pasta. 

    Shrimp Directions
    1. Season shrimp with salt and black pepper. 

    2. Saute shrimp by adding butter to a pan over medium heat. When the pan is hot add chopped garlic and saute for about 30 seconds. 

    3. Saute shrimp on each side for about 2 to 3 minutes. The shrimp should be pink.  

    Alfredo Sauce Directions
    1. Prepare the Alfredo sauce by combining the cream and butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Do not let the mixture come to a boil, but heat until small bubbles begin to form.

    2.  Add the Parmesan cheese and whisk quickly. Add the garlic powder and continue to whisk. 

    Serving the Shirmp Alfredo
    1. Place cook pasta into a large bowl.  Add cooked shrimp and alfredo sauce.  Toss together.   Serve immediately. 

    • Do not allow the pasta to over cook. The residual heat in the pasta will help it finish cooking.
    • Do not allow the shrimp to over cook, it will become rubbery. Wait until it is just pink.
    • Do use a block of Parmesan cheese that you grate for best results.
    • If your alfredo sauce is thin, add a couple of tablespoons of cream cheese to it to make it thicker.

    Chipotle Pork Carnitas is one of the most-loved meat choices at Chipotle. Did you know you can recreate this recipe at home, their version of pork carnitas slow bake in the oven for effortless cooking!


    Everybody loves going to Chipotle for Tex-Mex food, either to sit there and eat or to get takeaway. Depending on where you live, if you are taking a long drive, you can usually find a Chipotle when you get hungry. No matter how many times I have been to Chipotle, I almost always get the same thing – Chipotle Carnitas.

    While the Chipotle Pork Carnitas may not be in the traditional style of pork carnitas, traditionally carnitas is slow roasted then fried just before being finished, they are still extremely delicious to make. You can enjoy this savory and tender pork on tacos, burrito bowls, and on top of salads.

    What is Carnitas?

    Carnitas is literally translated as “little meats.” It’s a dish that originated in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Carnitas are traditionally made by simmering or braising pork in oil (or preferably lard) until tender. Traditional Carnitas are prepared with citrus juice (commonly orange juice).

    What’s Special About Chipotle Carnitas?

    Chipotle makes Carnitas with an earthy, savory spice mix that includes thyme, bay leaves, salt, and cracked black pepper. However, the one thing that really makes Chipotle Carnitas stand out and special is the addition of juniper berries. Chipotle’s website tells you that they use pork from responsibly-raised animals. The pork is braised and shredded by hand throughout the day, resulting in juicy, tender meat with a wonderfully concentrated flavor – porktastic!

    Juniper Berries give a unique flavor these carintas

    A juniper berry is not a true berry. It’s actually the female seed cone produced by the various species of juniper trees. The cone has merged, fleshy scales, which makes it look like a berry. In fact, juniper berries may be the only spice derived from a conifer. The berries impart a distinctive flavor to food and are also used to flavor gin.

    Juniper berries have a complex flavor of citrus and pine. Never fear, most grocery stores, spice stores, and Amazon have juniper berries.

    What cut of work can you use for Chipotle Pork Carnitas?

    It’s best to use either a pork shoulder roast or a pork butt roast. You can read about these cuts of meat. If your roast is in bone, this is not a problem because the pork will be so very tender at the end of the cooking time that it’ll literally just fall off. However, if you really would like boneless but can’t find it, you can get it deboned at the butcher counter. They can also cut you whatever size piece you want. So if you find an 8-pound roast, feel free to ask them to de-bone it and just give you 4 pounds.

    How to make pork carnitas like Chipotle

    You will want to first pat the meat with some paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Then add some sunflower oil to a pan, and begin to heat up the pan. While the pan is heating up season the pork with salt and pepper.

    You will want to brown the meat on all sides, this locks in flavor, and the mallard (the browned meat) reaction gives the pork a wonderful flavor. Next comes the slow roasting, cook in your slow cooker, or in the oven, it’s up to you. You will simply add in the remaining ingredients and wait patiently until the pork has cooked to perfection.

    Make some Chipotle Mexican Grill Carnitas at home

    Chipotle Carnitas are easy to make right in your slow cooker. Your Chipotle Carnitas will be the star every time, and you can have fun keeping people guessing where that unusual but delicious taste is coming from. Make some tacos and a salad to go with your carnitas. They’re also great for enchiladas and nachos. Or, create a lovely burrito bowl with layers of rice, homemade pico de gallo (see recipes above), and your favorite toppings for a delicious meal.

    Chipotle Pork Carnitas

    Make copycat Chipotle Mexican Grill Carnitas just like they do with this easy copycat recipe. 

    • 4 pounds pork roast
    • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup water
    • 1 teaspoon thyme
    • 2 teaspoons juniper berries
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. 

    2. Over medium heat add sunflower oil to a dutch oven. Season roast with salt. When the oil is hot saute roast on all sides for about 3 minutes on each side. 

    3. This will brown the roast a bit. Add water, bay leaves, thyme, juniper berries, and ground black pepper to the Dutch Oven. 

    4. Place lid on the pan and cook for 3 to 4 hours in the oven. Turn roast over in the pot every hour or so. Turning the roast will ensure the flavors go through the roast. 

    5. Remove roast from oven. Allow resting for about 20 minutes. Then pull the meat apart with two folks.   

    Slow Cooker Directions
    1. Add sunflower oil to a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.  Season roast with salt. When the oil is hot saute roast on all sides for about 3 minutes on each side.

    2. Place meat into a slow cooker.  Add water, bay leaves, thyme, juniper berries, and ground black pepper to the slow cooker. 

    3. Place lid on the pan and cook for 3 to 4 hours on medium heat.  Turn roast over in the slow cooker every hour or so. Turning the roast will ensure the flavors go through the roast. 

    • I do not recommend using a pressure cooker for this recipe, the slow roasting gives the meat a better flavor.
    • Be sure to pick a cut of pork that has marbling, you can always trim the fat after cooking.
    • Juniper berries may be omitted, but the flavor won’t be quite the same.

I don’t know what is better than that!

    The decor is super cute, it is like stepping into your great-grandmother’s country farm home. The food isn’t complicated, you aren’t going to find dishes like a sweet potato bisque and kale salad. You are going to be served classic dishes we all love. The Chicken Salad Chick Egg Salad is very good, and this is the recipe I have created for you. So until one of these open next to you, you can still enjoy their food.

    What makes the Chicken Salad Chick Egg Salad recipe special?

    Simple ingredients prepared well.

    You don’t need to hunt down exotic ingredients to make amazing food. I bet you have everything you need in your pantry to make this recipe. The egg salad simply contains boiled eggs, pickle relish, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Getting this in the right ratio makes all of the difference.     The real difference in this egg salad is the eggs are finely minced. When I make egg salad at home, I normally chop them in small pieces, but their eggs are minced very fine.     If you want it like the restaurant this is served in three ways.

    • It is served by the scoop. Place a large scoop on a plate of leaf lettuce.
    • It is served as a sandwich on Wheat Berry bread, toasted, or not. They will add leaf lettuce and fresh tomatoes.
    • It is served on a croissant with the optional leaf lettuce and tomatoes.

    Chicken Salad Chick Egg Salad

    Hands down one of the best egg salad recipes you are ever going to try. 

    • 12 hard boiled eggs
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (may need 1 to 2 tablespoons more)
    • 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
    • 1 teaspoon tarragon vinegar (plain is ok)
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1. Peel hard-boiled eggs.  Chop very finely. 

    2. Mix together mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, tarragon vinegar, sweet pickle relish juice, salt, and black pepper. 

    3. Mix in chopped egg very gently.   

    • Buy your eggs several days in advance before making the hard-boiled eggs, they are easier to peel between 7 and 10 days old.
    • Cooling the eggs quickly after cooking them makes them easier to peel.
    • Want to jazz up your egg salad, try adding some fresh dill, and some scallions or red onions.

    This burger is made from a well-seasoned ground chuck beef patties. The meat is topped with slices of Pepper Jack cheese, a delicious Mexi-ranch sauce, crispy Applewood smoked bacon, fresh pico de gallo, crispy fresh lettuce, and this burger is surrounded by warm Cheddar cheese quesadillas.

    Cheddar cheese Quesadillas
    • 16 tortillas (small, street taco sized)
    • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 cup Pico de gallo
    Burgers
    • 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    Mexi-Ranch Sauce
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1/2 cup Ranch Salad Dressing
    • 1/4 cup salsa
    • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
    Burger Toppings
    • 2 cups shredded iceburg lettuce
    • 8 slices Pepper Jack cheese
    • 8 slices Applewood Bacon (Cooked Crisp)
    Mexi-Ranch Sauce
    1. In a small bowl combine sour cream, Ranch Salad dressing, Picante sauce, and taco seasoning.  Stir to combine. 

    Cheddar cheese Quesadillas
    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. 

    2. Prepare 8 quesadillas by dividing the cheese into 8 portions.   Place equal amounts of cheese on 8 tortillas.  Place the remaining 8 tortillas on top of the cheese-covered tortillas.

    3. In a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, cook the quesadillas for about two minutes on each side.  The quesadillas should be golden brown, and the cheese should be melted. 

    4. Keep quesadillas in the warm oven while you cook the burgers. 

    Burgers
    1. In a bowl combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper.  Stir to combine. Divide beef into 4 patties.   

    2. Wipe out your non-stick skillet with a paper towel, and cook the burgers over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.  

    Build the Burgers
    1. Place one quesadilla down on a plate, add 1 burger patty. 

    2. Top burger patty with 2 slices of Pepper Jack cheese, and 2 slices of cooked bacon.  

    3. Top burger with pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, and Mexi-Sauce. 

    • Want perfectly cooked bacon? Try baking it in the oven, no mess, and perfectly flat crisp bacon.
    • Make the Mexi-sauce ahead of time, and if you have any left over, it makes a great salad dressing!
    • Have leftover chicken or grilled veggies, add them to the quesadillas!
    • You can purchase prepared pico de gallo or make your own homemade pico de gallo.

    Deviled eggs come in all sorts of flavors; salt, savory, and even spicy. I have a blog post where you can find 99 different recipes for deviled eggs.

    How to get the truffle flavor in those deviled eggs

    You do not need expensive truffles to enhance deviled eggs. You can use truffle oil and if desired truffle salt. The creaminess of the egg yolks really helps to carry the flavor of the truffle. A tiny pinch of truffle salt can do wonders for the eggs. These two layers of truffle with mayonnaise, pickles, a touch of onion, make these ordinary deviled eggs something extraordinary.

    Truffled Deviled Eggs

    You can make some delicious truffle deviled eggs, but adding one simple ingredient to transforms ordinary deviled eggs into something more exotic.

    • 12 hard boiled eggs
    • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 tablespoon minced red onion
    • 2 teapoons prepared mustard
    • 1 teaspoon truffle oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon truffle salt (regular salt is ok)
    • 2 teaspoons minced dill pickle
    1. Hard boil eggs your preferred way. 

    2. Peel eggs and slice the eggs in half. Cut the eggs in half down their length, from tip to bottom.

    3. Remove the yolks. Gently squeeze the yellow yolk out of the egg.  Place the yolks into a medium-sized bowl.  Place the eggs on a plate, cut side up.

    4. Make the filling.  In the bowl with the egg yolks add 3/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon minced red onion, 2 teaspoons mustard, 1 teaspoon truffle oil, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and the minced dill pickle.  Stir to combine.  Mash the egg yolks as you stir.   Stir until the egg mixture is creamy. 

    5. Fill the egg whites. Fill the eggs by spooning the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites.  You can fill a piping bag, and pipe the filling into the egg whites. 

    6. Garnish – if desired.  You can garnish with fresh herbs or a sprinkling of paprika if desired. 

    • Hard boiled eggs can be prepared in advance by a couple of days. This will make the eggs very easy to peel.
    • Hard boiled can be stored for a couple of days in your refrigerator.
    • You can swap out the red onion for minced shallots if desired.
