At-home, lifestyle newborn sessions are my favorite kind, and I’m excited to share a recent one with this sweet babe & his crew. These shoots are the best because the babies are happy and settled, the parents feel no stress, and the personalized backdrop of each family home allows for truly special photographs. Plus, furry friends can be included (and you better believe that Frank the golden retriever made sure he was a BIG part of this session!)

This spring has been wonderfully busy with sessions! I am so excited to catch up with my blog posts and share them all with you. We’re kicking things off with this sweet family. I photographed Bryan & Caitlin’s engagement and wedding, and was thrilled to hear from them for an updated family session. This time around, there was a new little lady, Emily, alongside her big siblings Abigail & Dylan. This crew loves playing in nature and climbing trees, so there was no better place to go for their shoot than their family apple orchard. The blossoms were just opening, and it was a perfect backdrop for their fun-loving, free-flowing session.
I think all family portraits should be a beautiful mix of nicely posed images and perfectly wild shots, where we just let the kids be kids (these are my personal favorite). Scroll down to see the fun we had!
When the weather turns colder, a lot of my clients ask me where we should go for photos. While there are a few standard go-to’s, I love when my clients opt to make their family photography session really personal instead. I was really excited when Leigh & Jimmy asked if I could capture them inside their beautiful home. They played and snuggled with their two sweet kiddos throughout our shoot, and we were able to capture a beautiful slice of their life as a family! Their kiddos have probably already grown so much in the few short months since our session, and I’m so happy they will have these memories to look back on.
At the end of 2018, I shot many family photography sessions & am excited to share more of those with you! Let’s start with one of my legacy families. I’ve been photographing Liz & Ryan for almost a decade now, and have loved watching their family grow, from their e-session to wedding to maternity portraits to family photos over the years (view my personal favorite).
So, when they reached out and asked for a winter mini-session with three generations, I was all over it. We met at Park Country Club and played in a snowy wonderland. I love offering my clients a mix of traditional posed imagery, and playful candid shots, and this group made my job very easy by having so much fun with it! Scroll down to see.
I’ve known Laura for years, so when it was her turn to search for a wedding photographer, I was thrilled when she & Wes chose me! These two are the sweetest pair, and I knew their e-session would be adorable. They won a photo rental inside The Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens at the last big Buffalo Indie Weddings bridal show, and we put it to good use on a freezing cold January day! We were warm & cozy inside the Gardens, where they snuggled up for the camera. I can’t wait to see what fun we have on their big day in September!
As a gift to her niece, Alexandra’s aunt hired me to photograph her very special bridal shower at Country Club of Buffalo. It was a Pinterest-perfect, pink party for the bride-to-be on a beautiful summer day! I loved capturing the story of Alexandra’s shower, with her closest friends and family members. Keep us in mind for all of your wedding celebrations!
Remember this sweet maternity session? Well, welcome to the world Baby Alé! I loved getting to visit this adorable family again, and meet the new little mister! I love offering relaxed, lifestyle newborn sessions like this, in the comfort of my clients’ homes, with a mix of posed and candid images. It’s such a beautiful way to capture this fast-moving slice of life!
Alexus wanted cool, city shots for her senior portraits, and we decided to explore around my studio for her session! We shot into the dusk, on rooftops and around Lafayette Square. I loved that she was up for anything, and brought her outgoing personality to our shoot. Senior sessions are some of my favorite, and I’m booking 2019 portraits now. View info on booking yours here!
