Our commitment to your loved ones health starts from the moment they enter our facilities. Making sure they are hydrated and eating healthy is a pivotal component to that recovery. That is why all our facilities are fully stocked with deliciously refreshing water stations. Here are a few benefits of infused water:

• It tastes great so you drink more of it, and that boosts your hydration.
• Your properly hydrated body can more efficiently rid itself of waste through organs including your kidneys, liver, and skin. It’s the natural “detox” our bodies do 24/7.
• If you’re drinking delicious infused water, then you’re not drinking sugary soda, and that’s a healthy plus.
• Drinking more water helps you feel fuller and addresses the false hunger that dehydration can cause. That one healthy habit can lead to healthier body mass.
• Water soluble vitamins like B vitamins and Vitamin C leak out into the water during infusion.
• CareOne centers use our very own homegrown 100% organic fresh herbs for infusion.

It all adds up to this simple truth: The real health benefit of drinking infused water is that you’re drinking more water.

Washington, DC – April 9, 2019 – The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) honored Cheryl Dorn, Administrator of CareOne at Cresskill in Cresskill, New Jersey with the 2019 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award. The leadership award was celebrated at ACHCA’s Annual Convocation and Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky on Monday, March 18, 2019. Only 7% of facilities nationwide qualified. This year, 1,129 facilities met the selection criteria. Two hundred and eighty-six administrators in 35 states were awarded the facility leadership award nationally.

Based on the premise that facility excellence reflects leadership excellence, this award recognizes the Administrator of record who provided such leadership for the full 2018 calendar year. Eligibility for this award is based on three years of skilled nursing facility (SNF) survey data, including the Health, Fire Safety, and Complaint Surveys, as well as top quartile performance on designated Quality Measures. The criteria also include at least an 80% or greater facility occupancy and a three-year avoidance of a Special Focus Facility status. This prestigious award is made possible with the support of ABILITY® Network Inc.

The Facility Leadership Award was introduced in 2008 by one of ACHCA’s most revered leaders, the late Eli Pick. A former executive director of the Ballard Rehabilitation Center, DesPlaines, IL for over 30 years, Eli embodied excellence as an Administrator that cared for his residents, their families, and his community. This award is presented annually in memory of Eli, a consummate member of ACHCA, dedicated to advancing professionalism and leadership in long term care.

Founded in 1962 the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) is the only professional association devoted solely to meeting the professional needs of today’s long-term care administrator and executive. ACHCA’s mission focuses on advancing leadership excellence in long-term care through the provision of leadership education, promotion of professional advancement programs such as Fellowship and Professional Certification, and facilitation of leadership development. ACHCA’s diverse membership includes administrators from across the continuum of post-acute and aging services care.

The program is overseen by independent trade publications McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and McKnight’s Senior Living, which received hundreds of nominations in this, the program’s inaugural year. An independent panel of judges comprising industry professionals and McKnight’s editors selected the winners, who were announced March 13 and March 14.

Daniel E. Straus, CareOne’s Founder and CEO stated “I am so proud of Lizzy for winning this award and for everything that she does to ensure that our patients, residents and employees receive exceptional care and personalized attention. As a family run company, it is thrilling to see Lizzy taking CareOne one to the next level – I could not be happier right now.”

This is McKnight’s first year for the program, for which PointClickCare is the exclusive platinum sponsor. Overall, 19 Hall of Honor and 21 Rising Star recipients were named. The former category is for outstanding leaders who serve at the vice president or higher level, while the latter is for women under 40 or with less than 15 years of experience in the field.

Collectively, McKnight’s Women of Distinction have helped their organizations achieve major patient care and financial performance milestones. Winners include direct care providers, as well as association and academic professionals. They have served as mentors or inspiration to their colleagues and in many cases pushed through personal hardship as well.

“The caliber of talent among nominees blew us all away,” said McKnight’s Vice President and Editorial Director John O’Connor. “It was humbling to see so many detailed and personalized nominations for hundreds of women in the field. We are excited to be the industry leader in acknowledging the contributions this group has made, and many are only getting started.”

McKnight’s will announce the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award winner in late March.

All of the winners will be honored May 16 in Chicago. Profiles of each will be featured both online and in print editions of McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and McKnight’s Senior Living.
