I finally mastered getting my twist out to turn out WAVY!!! Let me show you how.I have always wanted to get my curl pattern to stay the way it looks wet once it dries. If you have hair that puffs out and becomes frizzy and hard to comb while it’s drying, you know exactly what I mean.
A couple of months ago, I did an experiment to see if it would give me the results that I was looking for and IT DID!! There is nothing that describes that feeling of figuring out your hair. Actually getting past the learning curve and knowing exactly what to do in order to get the result you want….that my friend is priceless for sure!!
I’m sharing with you how I finally got the result that I was looking for with this wavy twist out look in hopes that if this is something that you desire, it will help you!

This quick and easy hairstyle is perfect for all ages!! Anytime I find a hairstyle that is teen friendly …………..AND teenager approved, It’s a miracle! LOL! Great unique hairstyles for teenage girls are hard to find these days! I found the inspiration for this one on Instagram a few months ago. After showing the picture to A Che’, she thought is was cute (which is totally unusual for her to like anything that I pick)!
I loved this one because it is different, easy, and can be changed up to make several cute hairstyles with minimal effort. As stated in the video, I applied Kisse Girl hair & body oil to her scalp before styling. I also added it to her ponytails after styling for that awesome shine and to prevent frizz!
Check out the tutorial below and please subscribe to our channel while you are watching!

Last week we started a new series that allows us to share who we are! After posting our first video, you all gave us some great suggestions on what to call it!We loved the suggestion by Sherryl to call it Kisse Girl Talk because it includes the name our new beauty brand, Kisse Girl, as well as our signature Kisse that we do at the end of each video!!
In our talks, we will share what’s going on with us behind the scenes of brown girls hair in our real lives! We will share our business (Kisse Girl), our family, our struggles, and our journey to build and maintain a healthy mother/daughter relationship through her teenage years to adulthood! We will post one new Kisse Girl Talk video every week on the same day that we film it and post hairstyle videos in between! Sometimes, we will do them live to make them more interactive!!
We are thrilled to do this because it is a change from our norm and it helps us to feel and be more connect to the people who are supporting us!
Check out episode 1 and make sure you are a part of this journey with us! We can do this thing called life together because we can do more when we support each other!
It’s the beginning of August which means back to school time in the state of Georgia where we live!A Che’ is 13 now starting the 8th grade so it’s time to give her more flavor to her hairstyles. I decided to try doing something totally different from our norm. I told her that we would do some weave for the first time with a little color. She was thrilled. Although she doesn’t need it, really no one does, I thought it would be a cool new experience for her now that she values her natural self just as she is, we can start experimenting with different looks.
I got the plus sign idea from Pintrest. I think it’s a great new flare to the box braids look. In the video below, you will see how I pulled it off using the rubber band method to make it easy on myself since it’s my first time using weave.
She loves them way more than I expected so I’m sure we will be experimenting with weave more in the future!
This video shows you how I refreshed A’Che’s twists after wearing them for 2 weeks.
I used our own Kisse Girl hair and body oil to keep her scalp dandruff and itch free during the first two weeks. I also used it to seal in the moisture and keep her hair frizz free and shiny.
To cleanse her hair I used Uncle Funky’s Daughter’s products that are listed and shown in the video below.
In the summer months, I like to do as little manipulation to her hair as possible. Doing one hair style in various ways or keeping her hair in braids has yielded us positive results for retention and all around healthy hair. It has worked for years so I don’t plan on changing this anytime soon.
Check out the video to see how I refreshed her old twists at the 2 week mark.
