First of all, I apologize for our lack of posts these last few weeks, it's been a full on rodeo ride and I''m sure you know exactly what I mean because we have been in it together!  Secondly, thank you everyone who checks the blog weekly, I realized from your orders that many of you order right from here by scrolling through the gallery so I also apologize for any confusion.  Please continue to use the blog but always check your emailed availability lists--sometimes life moves too fast and it's hard to keep up.  That being said, please scroll through and call, email or text your order for this week.

Just a reminder that next week is Crazy Eclipse Week.  We will email availability lists on Thursday, Aug. 17 and just in case we experience the worst of predicted circumstances, i.e., no internet or cell phone service, please make your orders as soon as possible.  We will not deliver on Monday, Aug. 21, we will see how it goes and make our deliveries on Wednesday, Aug. 23 or Thursday, Aug. 24, if it gets really nuts out there.

Bindweed bouquet of available foliage, aronia berry, raspberry foliage, sage, silver king, lady's mantle, dusty miller and firecracker.
Happy American Flowers Week!  Bindweed is proud and very happy to be a part of the American Flower movement--we have been growing flowers in Idaho for over 25 years.  Whoot!  Whoot!

Greens, foliage, whatever you call them, greens are the most undervalued part of every beautiful floral creation.  They are the foundation for every great bouquet, providing a lush backdrop that enables every colorful flower to shine.  And we've got plenty in every shade of "green"--from pale silver to deep bronze.  Dusty miller,  silver king, lady's mantle, sage,  lime diablo (ninebark), raspberry and blackberry foliage and firecracker.  We even have textured greens, aronia berry, lamb's ear, bells of Ireland and poppy pods.

The farm is moving from the blue spectrum into yellow, it's always like a revolving rainbow that swings with the seasons.  New this week are Black-eyed Susans, Chocolate Susans and yellow asclepias.  They join the yarrow and heliopsis.

Also new this week are garden roses in a mix of colors and two new snap dragons, Madame Butterfly, TDF in magenta and deep heavenly pink.  The  Queen Anne's lace, veronica, scabiosa, monarda and matricaria are exploding, the Icelandic poppies are popping and the sweet peas are finally producing.

Please call/text/email for the most current availability or to place an order.

Bindweed bouquet of clematis recta, lady's mantle, dusty miller, sage, poppies, scabiosa, eremerus, lamb's ear, delphinium and heliopsis.
Happy Summer Solstice!  With the arrival of golden heliopsis, Icelandic poppies in coral, yellow, orange and white and screaming yellow yarrow it actually feels a bit like summer.  We just needed a few flowers from the warm side of the color wheel and a few sunny days in a row.

The early summer perennials have peaked and we have harvested the last of the clematis recta, delphinium and peonies.  We will enjoy another flush of delphinium and clematis recta in about four weeks, but we won't see another peony until next season.

The veronica, yarrow and scabiosa are taking their turn and they look fabulous.  We also have a new crop of snapdragons in sumptuous colors, bronze red, orange and magenta.  New this week we have godetia and a bit of Queen Anne's Lace.

We have tons of foliage for you as well:  firecracker, lady's mantle, dusty miller and sage.  And if you are looking for textural elements try some poppy pods or green wizard.

Please call, text or email for the most current availability or to place an order.

Bindweed bouquet of bellflower white and lavender, clematis recta, firecracker, lady's mantle, dusty miller, penstemon, delphinium and baptisia.
Weather wise the last few weeks have been a wild ride, thanks for hanging with us.  The peony crop is harvested and all but sold.  If you want peonies--HOLLER--because they are all but gone.  We have coral and pink, lots of coral and pink--which is so weird because coral is the first peony to bloom and the pinks are the last.  Go figure.

Perennial time is such a rush.  Perennials bloom briefly every year.  They flourish and explode into bloom and then they are gone way too soon, unless they are in the hands of an expert like my partner who can often coax them into another bloom late in the season.  The point being--get them while you can!

Baptisia, one of the first perennials to bloom here is on the way out and the delphinium wave is cresting.  There are plenty but now is prime time for these colorful giants we have them in white, sky blue, cobalt blue, lavender and deep purple.  Bellflower, clematis recta, eremerus, penstemon, veronica and yarrow are all big and lush,  benefiting from the  long cool spring.

We also have some cool foliage and funky texture flowers for you:  sage, dusty miller, firecracker, poppy pods and green wizard.

We are harvesting new varieties and running out of flowers every day so please call, email or text your order today.
