of the limited series Mercedes-AMG GTR Pro has been revealed. The newest
addition to the Mercedes-AMG GT range starts at $199,650. The car is only
limited to 750 examples worldwide, and its deliveries will start in the late
part of 2019.
The AMG GTR
Pro is inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and Mercedes-AMG GT4 race cars. It
features driving dynamics intended to enhance its performance on the road and
The AMG GTR Pro is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The unit produces 577 hp and 516 b-ft of torque. All that power goes to a rear-wheel-drive system and distributed via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The configuration takes the car from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds while its top speed is electronically-limited to 198 mph. The vehicle also allowed AMG GT3 race car driver Maro Engel to conquer a circuit of the Nurburgring North Loop in a mere 7 minutes and 4.632 seconds.
The AMG GTR Pro is fitted with the AMG Ride Control coil-over suspension that offers manual adjustment for damping. It lets the driver determine the spring rate, rebound, and compression of the auto via the adjustment wheels on the dampers.
tech elements found in the standard AMG GT are merely carried over to the AMG
GTR pro like the performance steering wheel, 12.3-inch digital instrument
cluster and 10.25-inch multimedia display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
integration, among others.
Apart from the signature styling of AMG GT such as its Panamericana front grille, the AMG GTR Pro is highlighted by its large carbon fiber front splitter with aluminum reinforcements, carbon-fiber flics on the front bumper, air intakes in the fenders and rear wing.
Over the years, the Suzuki Jimny has evolved its styling until it eventually closely resembled the boxy Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The mini sport utility vehicle has been referred to as the “Baby G-Class” because of that. Due to its more affordable pricing than the luxury SUV from Mercedes, several tuners have used its platform to create a replica of the iconic G-Class.
Recently, Dubai’s Fast Car Service Center made an almost perfect copy of the Mercedes-AMG G63 using a Jimny. The tuner fitted the Suzuki compact SUV with Panamericana grille similar to the AMG model of the Mercedes SUV. After that, the auto was given large intakes, LED lights, side steps, side mirror caps, body lines, dual exhaust on each side, and spare wheel cover similar to the German vehicle. The Jimny can be easily mistaken as an AMG G63 model if it weren’t for its compact size and two-door look.
There was no mention of any performance boost in the transformed Jimny. In its stock configuration, the two-door vehicle is equipped with a minuscule 1.3-liter engine with only 100 hp and 130 Nm of torque. The auto arrived in dealerships with a $23,990 MSRP.
Previously, we have featured some tuners who have managed to perform a similar feat using the Jimny platform. Last month, we saw a Chinese company turn it again into a mini G-Class. However, the most amazing Jimny modification to date was the one made by 15 students of the Nihon Automotive Technology School in Japan. They created a copy of the Mercedes-AMG G63 AMG 6×6 using two Jimny Kei trucks.
Hamilton comes back stronger by winning the Formula 1 British Grand Prix after
he failed to win the previous race in Austria. The sixth victory of the Briton
in the UK marks another milestone in his career because he is now the driver
with the most wins in his home track.
Despite the advantage held by his teammate Valtteri Bottas at the start of the event, Hamilton was able to snatch the lead when the Safety Car came out. He used the moment to make his only pit stop. Bottas already pitted prior to that, so with fresh tires on the champ’s car, there was no stopping his onslaught.
Hamilton’s win and extra point for getting the fastest lap in the race brings up his score to 223 points in the 2019 Driver Standings of F1. Currently, he is ahead of Bottas by 39 points. The 80th win of the Mercedes driver makes him surpass Jim Clark and Alain Prost in having the most wins at the Silverstone circuit.
Hamilton has won 7 out of the 10 races of the season. Together with Bottas,
they have dominated the scorecards this season.
The action-packed race also saw Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finish third, followed by Red Bull’s Pierre Gasly and Max Verstappen in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was at the 16th place due to the damage he sustained upon collision with his teammate and for the penalty he was handed in its aftermath. His performance takes him 101 points behind Hamilton.
Daimler AG, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, posted a warning about a likely slump in its profits for 2019. The company blamed the numerous recalls, legal issues and low consumer demand for new cars as the reason for the drop.
According to CNN, Daimler projects €1.6 billion ($1.8 billion) profit for the second quarter. The figures are a significant dive from the same period last year, which saw the company’s earnings at €2.6 billion ($2.9 billion). With that, the automaker is estimated to rake up less than the €11.1 billion ($12.5 billion) profit it recorded in 2018.
Among the mentioned factors for the low returns were the Takata airbag recall, diesel emissions controversy, slow product rollouts and weak overall demand in the market. Daimler shares immediately went down by 1.7% in Frankfurt just after the announcement was made.
Previously, we have reported that the total sales of Mercedes for the first half of 2019 slipped down by 4.6% with 1,134,729 luxury vehicles delivered to customers globally. All key markets in Europe, NAFTA region and Asia (except China) took a negative hit from January to June.
The luxury car maker attributed the slowdown to the ongoing changes in its sport utility vehicle models, which the brand sees as having the largest volume in the market. However, the company keeps a positive outlook in the third quarter when its new SUV and compact car models roll out in dealerships.
Mid-year Mercedes sales in 2019.
It should be noted that many automakers are also suffering the same fate because of lower consumer demand. As a means to combat this, they have formed alliances to pool their resources and save on operating or production expenses. One of the newly formed partnerships was forged by Daimler and BMW for the joint development of autonomous driving technologies. Ford and Volkswagen were the latest to team up for the platform sharing of their electric vehicles and self-driving tech too.
Mercedes-Benz wrapped the middle of 2019 with 1,134,729 luxury vehicles delivered to customers all around the world. The brand’s sales may have slipped down by 4.6% compared to the figures in the first half of 2018 but it remains as the leader in the luxury car segment of the market.
attributed the slide in sales to Mercedes’ ongoing model changes in its sport
utility range. SUVs are considered as the brand’s segment with the largest
volume in the market.
Mercedes sold a total of 196,230 premium vehicles in June. Again, the numbers
decreased by 3.7% compared to the same month of last year.
Except for China, which saw an increase of 1.3% in sales due to deliveries from January to June summing up to 344,657 units, all the other key markets of Mercedes took a dive. The NAFTA region only managed to sell 174,409 units during that period seeing a drop of 8.8%. The USA sold 147,396 units, which took a negative 7.2% hit.
A closer look at the record books of Mercedes, the compact cars of the brand appeared very popular with buyers. Despite a drop in SUV sales, the company projects that the segment will climb up by the third quarter of the year because of the rollout of new models in dealerships like the new GLC SUV and GLC Coupe in July.
The key selling points of the new GLC and GLC Coupe models include a facelift, revamped interior and more advanced tech highlighted by their integration of the MBUX multimedia system and intelligent driver assistance systems.
The current Mercedes-Benz CLA coupe range is highlighted by the Mercedes-AMG CLA45. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine of the car’s high-performance AMG version is capable of 387 hp. Not content with the output of its engine, Polish tuner auto-Dynamics.pl tinkered with the vehicle’s outgoing model to raise its output to 535 hp with 472 lb-ft of torque.
be noted that the new Mercedes CLA now comes with an AMG CLA35 version with 302
hp. It also has an AMG CLA45 variant with 387 hp and an AMG CLA45 S trim with
421 hp. The selections will basically mirror the AMG A-Class’ offerings.
at the new AMG CLA choices, auto-Dynamics.pl’s AMG CLA45 trumps even the range’s
new top trim model. The tuner said that they “extremely modified” the car to
achieve the mentioned figures.
To get the boost in output, the tuner installed a new turbocharger in the auto. The performance increase is complemented by Bilsten suspension, Pagid brakes, Remus exhausts, and BBS wheels, among others. After that, the specialists installed gloss black fins and lip spoiler to make the car look sportier and more stylish. The only thing that buyers of the package will miss is the new Panamericana grille design of the new AMG CLA units.
Meanwhile, no details were revealed about the 0-62 mph acceleration of the tuned CLA45 but the company assured that its max speed can go up to 199 mph. As a recap, the new AMG CLA35 can go from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds while its top speed is capped at 155 mph.
Mercedes Erlklönig S-Klasse S-Class 2020 weniger getarnt - prototype less camouflaged 4K SPY VIDEO - YouTube
We have been seeing the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan on the road since last year. Up to now, the new prototype of Mercedes’ flagship car keeps on making its appearance to tease us. Recently, the vehicle was spied again while it was undergoing testing.
Mercedes is certainly taking its sweet time in developing the next-gen S-Class. So, we look forward to more neat features and new tech from the luxury car when it comes out in 2020.
It is speculated that the blacked out consoles in the car doors are retractable handles. It is also possible that they are sensors rigged with security features such as biometric or mobile scanners that prevent unauthorized access to the car but provide easier entry for its driver and intended passengers.
In addition, the S-Class in the video shows trapezoidal exhaust tips. Therefore, we might be looking at the S560 model of the range. The unit is expected to carry a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine. On the other hand, it is speculated that it might come with a hybrid powertrain too with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine.
much-anticipated element in the next-gen S-Class is its integration of Mercedes’
Light system. The tech features high-definition headlamps that project
images or words on the ground to communicate with pedestrians and other
The spied S-Class will likely debut in 2020 with a 2021 model year. Information about the car is still scarce, so we will surely update this story once more details surface.
After the unveiling of the Mercedes-Benz
GLB compact crossover SUV a month ago, its high-performance version appears
to be on its way. Recently, spy shots of the Mercedes-AMG GLB45 surfaced
The spy photos from Motor
Authority show the AMG GLB45 in partial camouflage. As the norm, the
covered areas indicate the changes between the standard GLB model and the AMG
model. With that, expect a sportier front bumper with lip spoiler, side sills,
wider fenders, rear diffuser and rear spoiler in the high-performance version
of the SUV.
The exhausts of the prototype are exposed, and we can see
that Mercedes went for the tubular tailpipes instead of the trapezoidal-shaped
ones for the AMG GLB45. Meanwhile, although covered in camo, the front of the
auto will certainly get the Panamericana grille design.
According to the source, the AMG GLB will have come in three
versions. There’s the GLB45 seen the spy shots and GLB45 S trim. A GLB35 is
also underway. Basically, the compact crossover will follow the offerings of
the AMG A-Class.
A 2.0-liter biturbo inline-four will sit beneath the hood of the AMG GLB45. Like the AMG A45, it will have an output of 382 hp. The more potent AMG GLB45 S is estimated to net 416 hp under its mill. The power of the AMG GLB45 will be distributed by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. It will have a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system as well as a Drift Mode. In a nutshell, Drift Mode makes it easier and safer for the crossover to do sideways action when on the track.

negotiations also allows the entry of other OEMs and technology partners.
The main goal
of the joint venture is to speed up the launch of self-driving vehicles. Each
company will then integrate the new tech in their signature cars.
Around 1,200 specialists will be working in the project. The personnel will be distributed among the key facilities of Mercedes-Benz and BMW such as the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center in Sindelfingen, Daimler Testing Center in Immendingen, and the BMW Group Autonomous Driving Campus in Unterschleissheim.
Daimler and BMW are the latest companies to pool their resources at a time of low-profit margins. The new partnership was announced last February but the two have been working together as far as 2014 when they announced their plan to develop a standardized wireless inductive charging system for electric vehicles.
