Recently we made changes to our master bedroom with a mini makeover. It’s been something that I had wanted to do for a long time, in fact, I had mentioned it in a few videos and many people said it was just my nesting instinct. However, the urge continued  even after Ella had arrived, so we did something about it! *happy dance*

One of the biggest changes we made was the carpet. We had a new carpet in the bedroom and living room and plan on replacing the rest of the house very soon. I do love a new carpet and this one is particularly luxurious. We went with a light grey (don’t worry, it’s stain resistant!) and it makes such a difference to the room. We had creme ones before and I loved the bright feel of them, but the grey just gives it a modern update.

At the end of last year, I WON a bed on instagram! How amazing is that. The bed we had before was a good quality bed, but the dark brown leather just stood out so much. I guess you can gather if you’ve seen other photos of my home, that I love the light and bright feel and it was really in your face! The new bed is cream and is just so pretty, it fits with the room so much better.

Once we had the new bed, we realised that our mattress was around 8 years old and really was past its best. My husband would wake up with a bad back every morning and I had to put up with a noisy spring for far too long. Luckily, around month ago we got a replacement mattress from Leesa. It’s a foam mattress which I’ve always been slightly dubious of if I’m being honest! I always imagined that you would sink into them and just feel really hot and sticky. With this Leesa mattress I couldn’t have been more wrong.

It’s had a unique combination of premium foam comprising of 3 layers which provide cooling bounce, contouring pressure relief and core support. We’ve been trying it out for month now and both Anthony and I are extremely impressed. After the first night, Anthony noticed a huge difference in his back. Now, he no longer wakes up in the morning and exits the bed like an 80 year old man! I’ve noticed a difference too. I don’t think I’d realised I wasn’t truly comfortable until we got this mattress and I’ve been sleeping like a dream! I also REALLY like the fact that neither of us wake each other up with the slightest moment. I usually go to be earlier then Anthony and I would often wake up when her got into bed….but now, I don’t often notice.

I’d highly recommend that you go and take a look at their website, and while you are there, take a look at what they are doing to give back to the community. A truly inspiring business. PLUS, if you would like to save £100 on a new mattress of your own, use code BELLACOCO at checkout.

Then there’s the furniture. Our old furniture had been painted from their original colour, the draws didn’t match the bedside tables and they just didn’t fit the room properly. I searched so many places for furniture that would fit this room and still offer adequate storage. I ordered a set from Dunelm, but I’ll be honest, I really wasn’t impressed. The draws themselves were just so small and hardly fit anything in them. In the end, we went for the IKEA HEMNES range, we got the 3 draw dresser and 2 small 2 draws. I actually have the small two draws in the living room, but I decided to add different handles to change them up a little. These handles were a bargain from Home Bargains and were about £4.99 for a set of 4.

So with the carpet, the bed and mattress and the furniture, the room looks so much better even though the main decor of the room hasn’t changed. What do you think? I love our calm and relaxing space.

If you’d like to take a closer look at some of the room, I have a video tour below.

When I fell pregnant, as well be being super excited for our future child, I was so excited to go pram shopping! Don’t ask me why exactly…I just was. I have a feeling I’m not alone with that either! So when Joolz asked me to review the new Joolz Hub, I played it cool and politely said “Yes please” whilst doing little happy dance in private. It arrived last week and I’ve been giving it a thorough test in order to tell you what I think.

First impressions of the Joolz Hub

The thing that struck me first was how small it was when folded. My current pushchair, although I love it, is a little bit bulky when folded down and the seat has to detach from the base/wheels in order to put it in the boot of my car. The Joolz Hub however doesn’t need you to remove anything, it folds down into an extremely convenient compact size with the added bonus of having a carry strap and transport lock. The hub unfolds in just a few easy steps.

Design Features

I’ve often struggled with my Silvercross pram with the sun going in Ella’s eyes, so I was really impressed with size of the hood on the hub. It even has an zip to extend even further with the added benefit of the breathable mesh to provide ventilation, Ella’s also been loving laying back in the full incline position (which is one of six positions) and peeking out of the mesh section until she falls asleep. The hood also has the benefit of being SPF50.

Now, I don’t want to sound weird, but boy is this a smooth ride! The large rear wheels make it so easy to navigate through cobbled streets and up curbs when your out and about in the city. The front wheels can lock into place or unlock to make it so easy to control…even with one hand. The Dutch brand believe in creating ergonomic, comfortable and stylish products and I think they hit the nail on the head when they designed the hub for urban living. Its ease of use and compact size make it easy to use on all methods of transport.

I would perhaps say the only pitfall I’ve found with the hub is that the basket it’s smaller than what I’m used to, but don’t get me wrong, I still manage to make a little trip to the supermarket to get the evening dinner and fit it in comfortably.

Overall, I’m really impressed with the Joolz Hub, it’s both stylish and practical as well as being really well made. The Hub retails for £549.00 plus £215.00 for the cot piece making it a great investment to carry you thought from the newborn days right up to when they are toddling around. PLUS as a reader of my blog, you can get a FREE Joolz essential blanket int he colour of your choice with you order using the code BELLACOCO@JOOLZ

Have you ever LOVED a bag but realised it was so impractical because it only holds one item? Or found a bag which was so handy but not very pleasing to the eye? Yep, me too.

I’ve always been an ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ kind of girl, even before becoming a mum. These days, I had resigned myself to practicality over pretty…..until I discovered these Fact + Fiction Bags which do both extremely well.

I’m a sucker for storage of any sort and anything that makes my life easier by keeping me organised is always a winner in my eyes. The Fact + Fiction bags offer stylish alternatives to the standard gym bag or the not so glamorous baby changing bags. I fell in love with the Charli Backpack for a few reasons. Not only does it look luxe, it also has some pretty cool compartments. As soon as I saw it I started mentally planning where I was going to put everything. A place for Ellas nappies and wipes for quick easy access, a place for my keys which I’m forever rummaging around for, a place for Ellas snacks, toys and anything she might need! Maybe even a space for some of my things too?! I opted for the backpack version because I feel it so much easier to carry around, especially with an 8 month old but they also come in a few different styles which you can find here.

When the Charli Backpack first arrived, it was well wrapped to avoid any damage and I was so impressed by the quality of it. The bag is made extremely well and is very study. I even discovered a few more compartments which I hadn’t realised it had. I couldn’t wait to add my things.

This bag has multiple uses perfect for busy active women and mums alike. If you don’t need a space for nappies and wipes like I do, it’s equally as good for storing your trainers and gym kit. Hitting the gym on your way home from work? No problem. Pack the bag for your daily commute and add your kit to the gym kit area. It saves you having to lug 2 bags around with you and looks super stylish at the same time. With it’s multiple compartments, it would even be perfect for a weekend away.

The Charlie Bag retails for £135 and it’s worth very penny for its versatility and quality. For me, using this bag makes me feel instantly more ‘dressed up’ without even really trying.

Have you heard of Fact + Fiction totes before? Let me know if you give one a go.
