Waves Audio, developer of professional audio signal processing technologies and maker of audio plugins for mixing, music production, mastering, sound design, broadcast, post-production and live sound, introduces Waves Submarine, a two-octave subharmonic generator plugin.
Sub frequencies are the backbone of modern music production. To really feel the music, you need beats, basslines and entire mixes to hit hard below the subsonic belt. Yet, many producers struggle to craft massive sub bass content that remains crystal-clear on large sound systems, without muddiness, artifacts or excess rumble. Submarine adds bigger, deeper sub bass to your tracks, with unprecedented clarity and low-end accuracy. Powered by Waves’ Organic ReSynthesis technology, Submarine’s two subharmonic generators deliver well-balanced subsonic results on any large sound system.
Submarine’s two sub generators process your source – kicks, bass, even full busy mixdowns – and cleanly adds new subharmonic frequencies up to a full TWO octaves below the precise frequency range you’ve selected. The plugin’s innovative Organic ReSynthesis engine strips the original signal down to its core elements – carrier, pitch, formant, and envelope – processes them individually, and then reconstructs the audio to create brand new sub frequencies which retain the exact pitch and time of the original signal. The result is deep subharmonic content that is clean and musical and naturally blends with your source. The plugin’s pinpoint-accurate RANGE slider lets you zero in on the exact frequencies from which you want to generate your sub sounds, anywhere between 20–240 Hz – perfect when you want to add subharmonics to a full mix, or to an old-school drum break sample, but only surgically to the kick, not to the snare or to other instruments.
Use the DRIVE control to saturate the added subs and easily glue them into the rest of the mix. Use the DYNAMICS knob to go from short transient sub sounds, to heavier compression for longer sustained sub notes.

Novation are incredibly proud to announce the release of Summit, their new flagship synthesiser for studio and stage. Built on the same innovative foundations as the critically acclaimed Peak, Summit’s deep sound design capabilities, 16-voice two-part multitimbral engine and intuitive, tactile workflow add up to a synth that’s far more than the sum of its parts.
With its multitimbral architecture and 16 voices of polyphony, Summit is like two Peaks in one instrument, enabling two completely independent patches to be split or layered across the keyboard, or switched between on the fly. But that’s by no means the end of the story: the addition of dual filters, greatly extended front panel controls, audio input and, of course, the same premium-quality five-octave keyboard introduced in the SL MkIII MIDI controller, put Summit in a creative league of its own.
At the heart of Summit is the digital New Oxford Oscillator, three of which are employed by every one of its 16 voices. They’re hosted on the FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chip, which not only helps to generate authentic analogue waveforms at incredibly high resolution (24MHz), but also facilitates FM and wavetable synthesis for rich, complex and highly textural raw tones.
The FPGA feeds into a true stereo analogue signal path, comprising dual 12dB/octave filters (switchable between six paired combinations of low-pass, high-pass and band-pass modes), analogue VCAs and three stages of distortion (pre- and post-filter, and post-VCA). It’s the union of flawless analogue-emulating oscillators with genuine analogue filtering and saturation that make Summit sound so fabulously warm and fat.
Summit also boasts a wealth of modulation sources and assignment options, three stunning effects, audio input for routing external sources into those effects (while still using the other multitimbral part as a synth), and an auxiliary output. And the front panel expands greatly on Peak’s layout with the addition of dedicated controls for FM, all LFOs, effects and more.
Quite simply the best sounding, most versatile synth Novation has ever made, Summit gives the serious producer or performer everything they need to design and play stunning basses, leads, arps, pads, effects, soundbeds and beyond.

The app will assist with monitor placement; level matching; subwoofer level and crossover setting assistance; polarity; and EQ for all KRK monitor lines.
Manley Laboratories is proud to announce a special Limited Edition run of their classic Dual Mono Microphone Preamplifiers with special blue & black cosmetics, in honour of the company’s 30th Anniversary. The company first began building these units nearly 30 years ago, when the Pro Audio division of the company was born.
Though Manley’s current equipment lineup is designed with more modern, efficient manufacturing techniques in mind, the Dual Mono Mic Preamp comes from an era where products were painstakingly built in a decidedly old-school fashion. “There are a tremendous number of American labor-hours required to hand-wire each Dual Mono Microphone preamplifier,” says company President EveAnna Manley. “But because we are in the audio business – always listening! – we have decided to celebrate our 30 Years of Manley pro audio production with a run of these classic cornerstone products.”
These Limited Edition units are available now through select Manley resellers worldwide with an MSRP of $3,300 USD.
Native Instruments introduces SUPER 8, a new instrument that brings together vintage analogue polysynth sounds with an intuitive modern interface. With more than 200 presets, SUPER 8 provides fast access to a diverse array of classic sounds and textures. The instrument also makes it simple to customise sounds while always keeping users within the instrument’s sweet spot.
With SUPER 8, users can start creating right away by choosing from 200+ presets – including rich analogue strings, ethereal pads, deep basses, biting leads, electronic percussion, and unusual effects. Patches were inspired by iconic analogue synths, but SUPER 8 has a character all its own. Modern presets provide combinations of oscillators, filters, and modulation settings that wouldn’t have been possible on original hardware.
Designed for tweaking
SUPER 8 makes it fun and easy to tweak sounds through a clean, next-generation interface. Simple sliders enable users to blend up to four waveforms for each of the two oscillators. They can mix the oscillators, sync them, and add FM oscillation for a digital edge. Users can also adjust low-pass, band-pass, or high-pass filtering, then move ASDR sliders to make quick changes to filter and amplifier envelopes.
The interface’s modulation section lets users easily add motion to sounds. They can choose one or more mod waveforms, then dial in speed and phase. For maximum creative flexibility, users can capitalise on mod routing to map almost any source to any destination.
Built to be played
Users can explore the full creative possibilities of SUPER 8 by controlling the instrument with a MIDI controller. Driving the SUPER 8 pitch wheel, mod wheel, and touch strip from a controller can produce expressive leads, shifting soundscapes, and evolving textures. Users can set parameters directly from the interface’s front page – or take advantage of automatic parameter mapping with a KOMPLETE KONTROL keyboard. Flexible mod routing enables users to adjust pitch, modulation, filtering, keytracking, and other parameters in real-time.
RØDE Microphones announces the next major firmware update to the RØDECaster Pro, the world’s first fully integrated podcast production studio.
Following on from the first update back in February which introduced multitrack recording via USB, the 1.2.0 update expands the RØDECaster Pro’s multitrack capabilities, enabling multitrack recording direct to microSD, and other useful upgrades.
The RØDECaster Pro’s new functions featured in the 1.2.0 firmware update include:
Multitrack recording to the on-board microSD card: polyWAV file format, stereo live mix + individual sources
Updated companion app: offering more user-friendly file handling
The option to pause during a recording
Updated colour-coding on the record button: green – armed, red – recording, amber – paused.
So how does all this work? The RØDECaster Pro will record 14 tracks to the on-board microSD card. These tracks are the same as if you were recording multitrack via USB to a DAW:
A stereo ‘live mix’ track
A mono track for each of the 4 microphone inputs
Stereo tracks for the USB, 3.5mm TRRS, Bluetooth and sound-effects-pad channels.
Multitrack to SD recording can be activated in the ‘Hardware’ > ‘Advanced’ section of the RØDECaster’s menu, alongside the existing multitrack to USB feature.
The RØDECaster Pro also now offers the option to pause a recording at any time by pressing and holding the record button for two seconds. Tapping the button will resume the recording, while pressing and holding again will end the recording.
To make this process as simple as possible, we’ve updated the colour-coding on the record button:
