Hello and happy Wednesday! Today is block pattern release day for the Fat Quarter Shop Clementine Quilt Along! And we're now about 2/3 of the way finished with the blocks (there are 12 blocks in this quilt with two patterns each month). Blocks each month are the same design but in two different sizes. I love them all, but the smaller blocks are always so cute!
I used a lighter print floral for one of the units in the large block. I think it will be fine, although I'll use another light print or two in a later block or blocks for balance when the quilt is put together.
Here are all four of the smaller blocks together...it's easier to see the different block designs this way because the larger blocks are so big they won't really fit easily in a photo!
Since I'm using scraps I'm starting to have to get a little creative with my fabric choices. This month I used two different yellows for one of the units in the large block...and I really like how it turned out! I think each section could actually be scrappy if you're also using scraps...or even if you aren't!
I'm also running a little low on my tone on tone background...I may switch to another one for the remaining blocks and save this to use for quilt assembly.
Hello and happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a terrific start! This morning I got up early and finished a big project I've been working on over the past week. I had a lot going on with a couple of family gatherings and other projects at the same time, so I really had to get organized and stay on top of this project to get it done to meet the deadline (it's a quilt market project that I'll be able to share in a few weeks). I think some of the tips I used for planning this quilt project might be helpful to other quilters, so I'm sharing them today!
While these tips are ideas I use with large projects, they will actually work with
Hello and happy Saturday! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! We're celebrating a couple of family birthdays this weekend, so all of my kids will be together with my husband and I for the first time since Christmas--yay! If you're new here, welcome to the Saturday Seven where I post all kinds of fun things for quilters!
(Photos today might just be a little overload of my new storage baskets I've
Hello and happy Thursday! I was doing some organizing of photos today and happened on some of these older quilt photos taken for me a few years back by my friend Korindi! I just love seeing the quilts in an outdoor setting; these photos are absolutely beautiful and really capture the beauty of both the fabrics and the quilting. Since these photos are of some of my favorite quilts, I thought it would be fun to share them again today!

Hello and happy Tuesday! I can't believe it's already the 17th of April...time is going so quickly this month! I meant to post my second quarter goals earlier this month and to do a review on my first quarter goals...but now is better than later! And honestly, I didn't meet many of my first quarter goals...but I have a good reason why!
During the first quarter of 2018 I made seven large quilts and a mini quilt from
Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was a great one! I just got back from a whirlwind trip to a blogging conference in Salt Lake City, Utah that took place Thursday through Saturday! It was my first time attending a conference of that kind, and I learned so much! The majority of the bloggers there were women (and a few men) who specialize in blogging about creative things: quilting, sewing cooking, crafting, crocheting, DIY, and more. Being around so many creative people was truly inspiring. And did I mention I learned a ton! I'm excited for some of the new ideas I have to share with you in the upcoming months, and I'll also share more about the conference soon!
Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend includes some spring weather and some sewing! This is my twentieth Saturday Seven post...kind of crazy! If you're new here, on Saturdays I post seven fun things I've found during the week that quilters might be interested in...recipes, home decorating, organizational tips, and of course fabric and patterns! Enjoy!
It was just before the official beginning of spring that we took the above photo
Happy Friday! I hope your week has been a good one and that your weekend will be even better! Today I'm sharing this week's small project finishes--three fun projects: Two of them were super quick projects that I'll be making again for gifts! And the other one is my second finish for Christmas...(remember I made this tree skirt right at the beginning of the year).
I can't even begin to tell you how fast and fun these first two projects were. I
Hello and happy Wednesday!Today I've got a new video tutorial to share that will help you make sure you are piecing perfect quarter-square triangles. I absolutely love this block--it always adds a lot to quilt designs and is also one of those terrific blocks for using up scraps!
Last summer I shared a tutorial for a quilt that uses these blocks, and a lot of
Hello and happy Monday! I'm here with the April block for my monthly free Block of the Month series! This month's block is an easy one because I wanted to have a little extra time to get the landing page set up for this series. Thank you so much for your patience with me as I've worked to keep this going while doing so much sewing for the Clover Hollow collection!
The new block is on the bottom right...see...easy! You'll need just three fabrics
