Sheet Cake with the BEST Cookies and Cream Whipped Icing Recipe
I bought a ticket a long time ago for a concert I wanted to see in San Diego in March. Every time I’ve thought about the concert, I’ve thought about how far away March is and how much longer I still have until I have to google the venue and sort out parking. Yesterday it finally hit me: wait, it IS March. It’s March right now. And the concert was definitely . . . last Thursday night.
Every single teacher has a plan. Not just the school’s plan, the one you practice together. Their own PERSONAL plan they run through again and again every time this happens. We‘ve all imagined over and over what we’d do — how we’d try to save our babies if the final moments came.
SOLIDARITY to all of you who are out there suffering with the flu right now. I just rounded the corner from wait-am-I-going-to-die to no-more-fever-but-coughing-all-the-time and man, being sick is exhausting.

This is usually one of my favorite blogging times of year: where I recap the previous year by combing through my posts and sharing my favorite stories and recipes. This year things aren’t going so hot. I’m fine, but I’m in the “just keep swimming” phase and I don’t have the energy to reflect just yet.
But I want you to know first and foremost how grateful I am for all of your thoughtful comments and messages. Secondly, I know I’ll be in fighting form again before too long and ready to reflect — 2017 was actually one of the most important years ever for me, and I want to do it justice. For now, let’s eat blueberry bars and just share some fun Instagram updates, okay? Okay.
NOT A SINGLE ONE OF YOU BOTHERED TO TELL ME ABOUT PUERTO RICAN EGGNOG SO WE’RE IN A FIGHT. Except we’re not because I wanna tell YOU about Puerto Rican eggnog so we have to make up. Have you ever had coquito?!
I’ve got your holiday potluck contribution covered. Dips are one of my favorite dishes to make for friends to share, and this Creamy Broccoli Cheese Dip is incredible: so simple to whip up and so delicious.
