It’s a truth universally known that tote bags are lifesavers for those of us who are constantly running from meetings to spin class to happy hour with the girls. But just because tote bags are practical and functional doesn’t mean they can’t also be fashionable. Here are our top picks for the perfect canvas tote bag to accompany you this summer as you lounge on the beach or hit up your favorite rooftop bar after work:

What do you get when you mix biker shorts and denim? Jiker Shorts. Despite popular belief, they aren’t the same thing as “jorts” or Bermuda shorts. Here’s the difference: Jorts is just another term for jean shorts and Bermuda shorts are the same length but usually not as tight. If you want to get crafty, you can always DIY your own pair. Simply take a pair of skinny jeans and cut them a few inches above the knee. If arts and crafts aren’t really your thing then go ahead and check out some of our favorite pairs below.

Happy Pride! June is Pride Month and this year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising (if you need a little history lesson, read here). Which means it’s time to get your pride on, literally. We love everything this month stands for: acceptance, love and being unapologetically yourself. You know what else we love? Outfits that embody these things as well. If you plan on attending a Pride Parade or just want to show your support for the LGBTQ+ community, shop some of these options below:

We here at WWW love a good statement belt. It’s an easy way to elevate any outfit and make us feel more put together. And the statement belt that’s having a moment right now? The chain belt – it’s like a necklace for your waist. Some are adorned in charms, coins or logos while others are strung with gems or leather. Embrace some ’80s vibes and shop some of our favorites below:

Danielle wearing one of her vintage finds from A Current Affair

Thrifting should be an Olympic sport, especially in NYC. You spend hours sifting through clothing rack after clothing rack looking to score the perfect throwback gem. We here at WWW live for the thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction that comes after discovering a vintage treasure. The best part about secondhand shopping in NYC is that 1. there are SO many shops and 2. there is a wide array of price points that will fit any budget. Here are some of our go-to vintage and thrift shops. Let us know some of yours in the comments below.

L Train Vintage

Not only does L Train Vintage have literally everything, but they also have everything for cheap. Sure, you may not find vintage Escada blazers but you will find quirky, one of a kind pieces for a price that will make your wallet happy. Pro tip: most of their best gems are on display (especially vintage graphic tees) so don’t be shy about asking to purchase anything you see hanging on a mannequin or on the wall.

What Goes Around Comes Around

If you’ve been following WWW for a while, you know this is Danielle’s go-to spot to find vintage designer goods. Since it’s luxury vintage, don’t expect to find a $10 rack but do expect to find quality, timeless pieces that are worth the investment.

The Vintage Twin

What you find at The Vintage Twin will truly be one of a kind. They take vintage pieces and rework them to make more on-trend creations using salvaged materials. Fashionable and good for the environment? Yes please.

Beacon’s Closet

A day of thrifting in NYC would not be complete without a trip to Beacon’s Closet. Not only do they have multiple locations that are convenient for people living in any neighboorhood, but their shops are also always fully stocked with designer gems and name-brand goods. Plus you can bring some of your own cast-offs to sell for cash or trade in for store credit.

A Current Affair

A Current Affair (unfortunately) is not a storefront but rather a market that happens twice a year in NYC. Each event brings together handfuls of vintage retailers and private dealers to showcase the best vintage under one roof. You can check out the dates of the next event here.

Ritual Vintage

Ritual Vintage specializes in pre-1950’s clothing for men and women and designer pieces from the 1960’s to the present. If bodices, corset tops and lace slips are your thing make sure to check out Ritual Vintage.

Who here has distant summer camp memories of making anklets using embroidery floss and colorful plastic beads with your besties? Since then, anklets — yet another ‘90s trend making a comeback — have grown up a bit, as have we. We’ve traded in our plastic beads for diamonds and our string for chain link — but don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten our humble anklet beginnings. This small, subtle but super sexy accessory is an outfit must, especially now that summer is just around the corner and your ankles will finally be seeing the light of day. Whether you opt for dainty and sweet or boho and beaded, adding an anklet is an easy way to elevate any outfit. Accessorize your ankles with some of our favorite picks below.

If you love wearing suits and aren’t ready to pack them away now that warmer months are upon us, the good news is you don’t have to. Enter the short suit — the more feminine iteration on the classic menswear look. The last time we saw this trend soar into popularity was in the ’90s, and if you’ve watched Pretty Woman 1,001 times like team WWW has, then you know Julia Roberts wore the coral short suit of our dreams. (See item #7 on this list if you have no idea what we are talking about). A short suit is the perfect combo of business and play — polished but ready to party on a minute’s notice. If that sounds like the kind of outfit you want to be in, here are some of our favorites that you can shop below:

We here at WeWoreWhat are obsessed with health and wellness. Whether it’s breaking a sweat at pilates, getting hydrated with Fiji water or starting our mornings with celery juice, we love looking good and feeling good. Here are some of our current favorite wellness practices we subscribe to.

CBD Oil

You’ve probably heard of a little thing called CBD oil. It’s in everything from lotions to teas to gummy bears. And we are totally here for it. There are a lot of brands out there, but our personal favorite is Highline Wellness because it was the first brand Danielle was introduced to (thanks Moe!) and because of how effective it is. It can help reduce your anxiety, sleep better and alleviate pain. At the risk of sounding melodramatic, CBD products have changed our lives — so much so that Danielle is now a board member for the brand and helps them with everything from rebranding to digital content strategy. If you’re a skeptic of CBD oil or just want to be a little bit more informed, listen to this episode of WeHeardWhat?! where Danielle sits down with Highline Wellness Co-Founder Chris Roth to discuss the truths and myths of CBD.

Infrared Saunas

There’s nothing quite like a sitting and relaxing while sweating profusely, which is why we love taking a trip to the infrared sauna. They are different than normal saunas in that they don’t heat the air around you, instead they use panels to heat the body tissue and organs to detox the body on a cellular level. In non-biological terms: infrared saunas can help you lose weight, improve your circulation and help with anti-aging. Plus, you can even burn up to 600 calories in one 40 minute session. Burning calories without having to move a muscle? Yes please.

Melissa Wood Health

Speaking of burning calories, another way we love to get our sweat on is by doing “The MWH Method” by Melissa Wood aka our health hero. She’s a mom, certified health and wellness coach, yoga and pilates teacher, meditator, overall boss woman and best of all one of our friends. Her methods focus on slow, controlled movements that deepen the breath-body connection to sculpt long, lean lines throughout your entire body. She also introduced us to one of our favorite breakfast options or mid-day snacks: the spirulina smoothie. Spirulina is one of the richest plant-based sources of protein and is packed with significant amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron. Basically, every good thing you should be putting into your body is found in this biomass of cyanobacteria. You can find our favorite smoothie recipe here.

Lymphatic Drainage

Team WWW are big fans of lymphatic drainage. You’ve probably seen Danielle post about it on her Insta Stories at least once a week. Lymphatic drainage is a technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymph, which is a fluid that transports white blood cells, oxygen, and nutrients to tissues throughout the body. It can majorly help with arthritis, orthopedic injuries, swelling and other issues. For us in particular, we like to use it as a treatment to reduce fluid retention, muscle recovery and cellulite. Our go-to spot is IMD Spa in NYC. Hello smooth skin.

Celery Juice

We may have jumped on the celery juice train because it was trendy, but we’ve stayed on it because of how awesome the benefits are. Celery is packed with vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium, folate, manganese, calcium, riboflavin and magnesium aka all of the good stuff. Due to its high percentage of water and electrolytes, consuming celery keeps you hydrated. It’s also packed with anti-inflammatory properties that can help with acid reflux, bloating, IBS, acne and eczema. Let’s be real, celery juice may taste like drinking a glass of liquid grass — but we will chug it anyday if it means clearer skin. Bottoms up!

Dry Brushing

While there are many ways and methods of achieving soft, glowing skin, there are only a handful that you can do in the comfort of your home (and on the cheap). Which is why we are big advocates for dry brushing. Dry brushing is a technique that involves massaging a dry, stiff brush all over your body. The results? It reduces the appearance of cellulite, promotes collagen production and improves circulation that leaves your skin soft and radiant. The best part about dry brushing is that you don’t have to go to a fancy spa or spend your hard-earned paycheck to reap the benefits. You can do it right in your very own bathroom. The process is also super simple: Before you hop in the shower rub the dry brush all over your body in gentle, circular upward motions. Our favorite brush is this one from Complete Skin Makeover. RIP flaky, dry skin.

Meditation

Living in NYC is a dream, don’t get us wrong, but it’s easy to get sucked into all of the hustle and bustle that the city generates. Which is why we implement meditation into our everyday routine. Mediation prevents us from getting stressed and allows us to be less reactive to any of the negativity that might get thrown our way. Some of our favorite ways to recenter ourselves are by using the Headspace app or one of Melissa’s mediation sequences (try one here). You’ll be feeling all sorts of zen in no time.
