Note, we have new parking spaces. There are three spaces right when you go into the alley parking lot where the zip cars used to be. The three spaces on that end are ours. We have two signs and will have a third shortly!

Its not Spring weather, but we have spring flavors for cupcakes this week, including my personal favorite, Fresh Basil! And a new flavor which is Vanilla cake with Marzipan Italian buttercream. (Make from almonds.) So delicious. Check out our other new flavors as well. We are finished with Slim mints until next year’s girl scout season. They aren’t good cookies in the heat because of all the chocolate on the outside.

Next week, Danielle is going to roll out her mini Ricotta Tarts, so if you love Italian sweets, come on in!  We are in the phase out period of pot pies, so if you love them, stock up! Ditto the flourless cakes. We will continue to have flourless cupcakes, so don’t despair if this is your favorite. Chocolate isn’t a big seller in the summer.

We are going to be changing pizza flavors soon. Anyone have a favorite they want us to make or bring back?

I practiced making crepes last night at a dinner party. Everyone (all of whom are French) loved them. Practice will make perfect and i’m having a crepe dinner with another neighbor with a largish family later in the week. So crepes! Soon! Now i just have to figure out how to pack the darn thing to get it home safely.

For you animal people, my cat came through surgery alive (!) though vet said it was one of her harder procedures because one cataract was like rock. Apparently, normally, at least in humans, they are “gel like” and the ultrasonic machine slurps them up (her words not mine, lol.) Poppy’s were so unusual she saved one for me. He has been hating me because he’s on a non-stop regime of eye drops. 5 different kind, 15 minutes apart, 4-6 times a day each. He sees me and he runs now. Sad. But he is (I think) marveling that he can see, far away at least if not up close up. If you have a schedule-able expensive animal procedure, come here to do it! I paid less than  1/4 of price as in USA. Plus my pre-0p eye drops were €21 and post op were €18. These drugs, that i had to get at a regular pharmacy, would have clearly been a few hundred at a vets in the USA.

Today i’m off to a medieval faire. Not sure what that will be like, but i had my choice of fairs to go to and i chose that because an artist friend who does ancient primitive painting, has an exhibit at the fair.

It is still Strawberry Rhubarb Pie season. Tea Bread is Mixed berry. Muffins are Peanut Butter, with or without Chocolate. And Sat Special is Blueberry scones.

It is birthday season and graduation season, so please plan ahead and get your cake orders in at least 3 days ahead of time, but preferably a week or more ahead. Merci beaucoup.

Just a reminder we will have flourless cakes and Pot Pies to the end of the month. Ditto our Slim Mints. So if these are your absolute favorites, now is the time to start stocking up! Danielle is phasing out her florentines for the summer, and will make mini ricotta pies instead.

The Df Tart Lemon Buttercream is made with our DF Lemon Curd and is Delicious! We will have flourless cakes until Mother’s Day and Pot Pies to about the same time. Ditto our Slim Mints. We had Tiramisu today and it sold out in a few hours! People Loved It! Next week we will have it on Friday and Sat.

Easter is two weeks away so get your Easter orders in. We are swapping out Ricotta Pie for Tiramisu cake. Sm-Lg same prices as our regular frosted cakes.

Pop Tarts continue to be a hit. Next week in addition to Raspberry and Banana-Peanut Butter chocolate, we will have Blueberry-lavender per special request.

Its Bagel week! We have been training new bread bakers so haven’t wanted to task them with this more difficult bread to make until they felt generally comfortable with GF bread baking. We will have poppy, sesame and everything (poppy, sesame and sea salt). Always best to pre-order, although we will have some available for walk-ins Weds-Sat.

Time to start thinking about ordering your Easter Basket cake.  (For a better view of this cake see Specialty Cakes on our website.) They come in chocolate, vanilla or carrot cake with regular or dairy free buttercream frosting or cream cheese buttercream frosting. Your choice of all dark (DF) chocolates, or a mixture of milk, white and dark. And they come in small, medium and large. Sm $58, Med $78, Lg $98. They are listed under “Cakes” on order form. Please note in the message area flavor of cake, type of buttercream, and which chocolates you want.

If you missed our pop tarts, don’t worry, we will have them again. The strawberry-rhubarb was my favorite, but the chocolate hazelnut sold our first. What flavor pop tart would you like to see?

People are really loving our Slim Mints. If you haven’t been able to have girl scout cookies in awhile, come on in and give them a taste. 

Many of you have asked about when our cookbook is coming out. Apparently, the publishing industry only publishes cookbooks from “Famous People” now. If you are not a Famous Personality, you have to have zillions of Instagram followers, or so i’ve been told by people in the industry. It’s POP TART week. And I can tell you from eating one just now!!, they are scrumptious. We were trialing the new Pop Tart dough we just made for the Strawberry-Rhubarb pop tart. Really, really good. Not too sweet at all. Flakey and delicious. Creamy gooey fruity center.   The other flavor will be Chocolate Hazelnut. With our 70% dark chocolate filling. We will have them for our Sat Special next week. Don’t miss out!

If you have a hankering for Girl Scout cookies, come try our slim mints which taste like the real thing. We are going to be trialing Samoas soon. We will have to think of a good name!

Easter is still 5 weeks away, but we will start taking orders for the Easter Basket cake by the end of next week. They are a very elaborate affairs and quite beautiful! We make all the chocolates  out of organic chocolate. We can make the cake in small, medium or large, and with chocolate or vanilla cake. Stay tuned.
