Thank you to our friends at buybuy BABY for partnering with us for this post!
You guys, can you believe that baby Kung’s ETA is in approximately four weeks?! I remember looking at one of my favorite pregnancy apps late last year, it counts down the weeks remaining until our due date. When I read 28 weeks left to go, it was daunting at the time and felt like this pregnancy would go on forever. Sure enough, now I look at my pregnancy app and feel a rush of urgency and excitement seeing the countdown is on with four weeks to go!
Leading up to this point, my hubs and I have been busy planning and preparing for our boy to arrive. You can check out my previous post here featuring my top five must-have items in prep for baby’s arrival. We’re almost passed this point now of getting our home ready for baby Kung. Now our priority this week is to pack our hospital bag. A very special thanks goes to our friends at buybuy BABY for partnering with us as we get ready for the hospital stay for birth. We definitely want to have the hospital bag all set to go for when baby Kung decides to arrive.
Sharing my top favorite items from buybuy BABY that I am packing in my hospital bag, starting with this fabulously stylish diaper bag. Given this bag’s perfect size, I plan to fill it full of baby’s stuff that we will need during our stay in the hospital and for bringing him home. We will also pack along a small luggage that will hold the items that my hubby and I need.
As for these high-quality muslin swaddle blankets, I can see what all the fuss is about. I can’t wait to swaddle baby Kung in these when he’s born. These are also so great for covering him in the car seat as a protector from harsh sun or wind on our way home from the hospital.
The darling monkey one-piece is a comfortable outfit that we can put him in at the hospital and also is great for bringing him home. We’re all about these onsies because they’re simple and efficient, and yet oh so cute!
I’m also packing the NailFrida Nail Care Set in our hospital bag. I’ve actually had a few of my Mom friends recommend bringing a nail clipper set to the hospital because their babies were born with long nails that already start to scratch. These clippers actually have a spyhole for you to see exactly where you’re cutting, making it so much easier to trim little baby’s nails right off the hop. Gone are the days of the terrifying experience of accidentally cutting the baby’s skin while clipping their nails!
Last but not least, so many of my friends have also suggested Burt’s Bees facial cleansing towelettes. These wipes will be amazing to have on hand during labor, given all the sweat and effort that goes into birth. These are also really nice to have for a quick go-to after birth to freshen up before I begin to nurse baby Kung. Anything to help me feel alive again.
There’s so many other must-haves for the hospital bag, and so I thought I’d share a few of these here:
You guys!!!! Hello! I finally had the energy burst to post a blog post for today. Entering into my 33 weeks of pregnancy, it’s getting more difficult to juggle everything. My first and foremost priority right now is keeping my life super balanced by limiting the amount on my plate and focusing on staying relaxed and rested. I thank my hubs for helping me achieve this by helping me out with the small things and just coming along side me in this pregnancy. This is making a huge difference in the last few months of pregnancy.
I wore and photographed this look last month and have been wanting to share it with you. This outfit is slightly on the wintery side for the now beautiful spring Seattle weather. Yet this adorable Topshop dress is on major sale right now so I had to share this with you. Best of all, it’s not a maternity piece and so this speaks to how well it suits versatile body types. I also love this dress for spring! My bump is so much bigger now than even back then a few weeks ago. It’s fun to look at photos from weeks ago and see such a difference. The joys of pregnancy mixed with blogging!
You guys, I had to share this with you! I’m a long-time fan of Burt’s Bees and I’ve used their all-natural lip balm for years. It’s so neat to see one of my favorite brands evolve into now offering their very own Burt’s Bees Beauty collection. This new colour collection is a dream, bringing a range of cosmetics that are made from natural ingredients. The collection includes some of the key makeup essentials including liquid foundation, powder foundation, blush, mascara, eye shadow, eye liner, brow pencil and glossy lipsticks. Best of all, their products are formulated without parabens, SLS, petrolatum, and any other worrisome chemicals that we need to pay attention to.
When it comes to my beauty routine, I’m not stuck on using all 100% natural products. Having said that, my philosophy is to integrate natural makeup as much as possible, swapping out the products full of chemical with healthier options. When it comes to natural cosmetics, I’ve consistently found it challenging to find products that I’m happy with their performance. Let’s take liquid foundation, for me I just love the look of full coverage foundation especially for going out or taking photos. Full coverage foundation also works great for in blogging photos, because it gives even and balanced skin with a great finish. Strong performing natural foundation is very tough to find, and so I’m very impressed with Burt’s Bees Liquid Makeup which doesn’t leave my skin heavy or cakey, yet gives a really nice finish. I find my skin looking more radiant and feeling more moisturized. I am also a fanatic over their Burt’s Bees Glossy Lipstick, and it is 100% natural. They have so many pretty shades and it feels lightweight on the lips, which I love!
I highly recommend giving these products a try, join me in this #NotSynthetic movement by integrating more natural cosmetics into your beauty routine!
Thank you to Burt’s Bees for gifting me with these lovely products!

I’m so very excited to share that I’ve partnered with buybuy BABY to feature the top five must-have baby items parents may consider purchasing in preparation for baby’s arrival. With Baby Kung’s arrival approaching very soon, my hubby and I have been super busy prepping our household with the key items we need ready for bringing him home. As first-time parents, this is all a new adventure and journey. In embarking on this new parenthood journey it has meant so much to us having buybuy BABY’s expert service for all things baby stuff, plus care tips and safety advice.
A few weeks ago we booked an appointment for an in-store visit at our local buybuy BABY store, which I highly recommend doing for those of you soon-to-be-parents out there! Our experience made us feel like buybuy BABY is here for us every step of the way. It can be overwhelming with the amount of opinions out there in the market place on which items you need to have for the upcoming arrival. Let’s face it, there’s so many unique baby items and options available. We could seriously fill our entire apartment full of baby stuff including items that we may not necessary need or use. Not just that, there’s many considerations we’ve learned from buybuy BABY about infant safety and ways to prevent harm to our baby. We spent time with the in-store consultant getting her help figuring out what’s right for our family’s needs. Later we walked away with a well-rounded variety of baby items to welcome baby Kung home.
When there’s a parking spot reserved right out front just for me!
Loved our in-store consultant, I literally could spend hours with her in store at buybuy BABY!
To sum up some of my favorite items we have purchased for our baby’s arrival, I’ve come up with the top five must-haves I’d recommend:
I’ve heard from other Moms that the Dockatot is a parent’s lifesaver! Perfect for the baby to lounge in, play, rest, do tummy time, and coo. This comfy docking station offers a safe spot for babies, and I love that it’s so portable and lightweight for easy travel. Buybuy BABY has some super cute cushion prints to choose from too!
When I spotted these darling hats, I could instantly imagine my little boy wearing these in the hospital and apart of his coming home outfit. Super cute and a great way to keep their head warm when they’re little.
This SleepSack Swaddle is a goodnight’s dream for me! Taking the guess-work out of swaddling, I am so relieved to have an option for tucking baby in to sleep as a wearable blanket. I’ve been learning about SIDS and this is such a fabulous option for keeping baby safe and tucked in without blankets.
We recently attended a baby class and the instructor taught us that babies will often stop eating if their nose is plugged up. This makes perfect sense! Buybuy BABY recommends this tool to have on hand in the medicine cabinet, and I’ve seen so many Mommy bloggers say the same thing on their blogs about the NoseFrida. Although it’s quite hilarious to think that we will be sucking those little boogies out of baby’s nose, it’s such a genius and effective tool!
I instantly fell in love with this cute animal Activity Gym! The little piggy had me at hello along with the other adorable animal hanging toys. I can’t wait to see baby Kung playing with this, especially for his learning development. So precious!
A special thanks to our friends at buybuy BABY for partnering with us for this post!
My hubs and I enjoyed the most blissful babymoon getaway two weeks ago. I’m so excited to share the details with you of our weekend away. Given there’s so many beautiful destination options surrounding Seattle, we knew we wanted to choose a location that didn’t require flying. At seven months pregnant at that time, we decided to put all flight travel on hold until well after baby Kung arrives. We’ve heard so many wonderful things about San Juan Island! Everything from the most picturesque water views, the quaint town of Friday Harbor, and the unique island itself. It’s just a short drive and ferry ride over to this stunning island from the city. What more could we ask for?!
We were delighted when Friday Harbor House invited us for a babymoon weekend getaway. This boutique hotel truly offers it all, and made the most perfect romantic experience for my hubs and I. The hotel amenities make this hotel one of a kind, I’ve shared more details on this further below. I fell in love with the stunning marina views from our hotel room window. We watched the ferries coming in and out of the harbor, which is one my favorite things to do! In the evening, we cozied up in front of the fireplace in our room while sipping sparkling apple cider, allowing for us to 100% completely relax. Also, our room featured an oversized jet tub and I loved the beautiful rain shower.
Our stay at Friday Harbor House had an extra dose of pampering with their babymoon package. Greeted with a basket of munchies and delights when we arrived, it made it hard to ever leave our room! We had heard amazing things about their restaurant’s Executive Chef, Jason Aldous and so dining in their restaurant was a highlight. We definitely had to try his dinner and breakfast menu, and the food was incredible!
We arrived earlier in the day to San Juan Island so that we could spend the daytime strolling the adorable town of Friday Harbor. We walked through the cute boutiques, sampled the local home-made chocolate shop, all while sipping hot cocoa and visiting locals along the street. The next day we spent driving and exploring around the island, stopping at the various must-see points recommended by the helpful hotel staff. I fell in love with San Juan Island’s rolling hills and gorgeous coastlines all around. It really is such a magical place!
These breathtaking marina views from our hotel room though!
When you check into your hotel room and the bed looks so comfortable, all you want to do is crawl in and stay forever! Sorry not sorry!
Each room comes with a Puget Sound Dream Kit. I was so impressed with this thoughtful amenity, I had to share this with you guys. Chamomile bath salts, lavender pillow spray and an eye mask, this made our stay feel so personalized.
It’s true luxury with the Friday Harbor House pillow menu. Offering a choice of goose down, organic buckwheat, bamboo pillows and memory foam pillow options. We opted for the memory foam pillows and I seriously don’t remember sleeping this well in a hotel! Comfort at its finest. I wish more hotels provided a pillow menu, this is genius.
These treats are a dream for the pregnant girl! I put on my comfy jammies, poured us sparkling apple cider and we watched the movie Topgun in our hotel room. Little did I know that my hubs’ favorite movie growing up is Topgun, apparently he even collected model planes of F14 Tomcat jets inspired from the movie. Loved learning this little tidbit about him!
We balanced out all the goodies from the night before by following with the most beautiful brunch. I ordered the avocado toast and the yogurt parfait from the menu. I seriously would go back to Friday Harbor House just for these dishes from the menu. Chef Jason Aldous, would you be willing to send these two dishes to me in Seattle? Please! You have me craving these!
Thank you so much to our friends at Friday Harbor House for the babymoon memories that we will cherish always!
Hi you guys!!! What a whirlwind life has been lately. My hubs and I were away last weekend for our babymoon getaway, I can’t wait to share more details with you on that next week. Between prepping for baby’s arrival and keeping up with life’s daily demands, I feel like I have had very little time to spare. Don’t we all?! My objective now as we’ve progressed into the third trimester of pregnancy is to get as much rest as possible. Rest for me doesn’t necessarily mean sleeping. Rest for me has looked like relaxing with a book, catching up on my favorite Netflix shows, or even spending time on Pinterest for inspiration. It’s not always easy to be still and quiet, yet I am starting to appreciate this time to reflect and allow my mind to rest. This has been especially true for me as this pregnancy continues to progress along.
Now on to this outfit I thought I’d share with you guys! As I’m gradually transitioning my outfits into spring, I’m still stuck on some of my favorite knit sweaters. This is an outfit I wore to church a few weeks ago. Given my baby bump has outgrown almost all of my lighter spring coats, I’ve been wearing my thicker knit sweaters a little longer into spring season than I normally do. I get asked by so many gals on where I got this knit sweater from. I’ve even been stopped by women on the streets asking me who knit this sweater for me and the story behind it. Although I wish I had a unique story to share for this piece, it’s as simple as I bought this cute sweater from an online boutique here! The neat thing is, it comes in 3 fun colors and it’s on sale as we speak! Definitely check out the other shades. Even though it’s spring, this sweater is so adorable to throw over a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. As the weather continues to transition into spring here in Seattle, I plan to wear this sweater with cut-off jeans and slip-on mules. Let’s just hope I can continue fitting this bump into it!
Friends, hope you have a wonderful day and thank you so much for reading. Xo!
Hi friends, thank you so much for all your love and sweet comments on my previous post! You made our day and I just love hearing from each of you. So, on different news we’re on the homestretch to the weekend! Yay! My hubby and I are flying home this weekend for our baby shower, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been counting down for many weeks to seeing family and friends this weekend. This will be our last flight until baby Kung comes, yet we do have an exciting baby moon coming up in March without having to fly. I’m very excited to share more details with you then.
Who is digging the gingham trend? It’s been so on trend this season. I’ve been spotting gingham trench coats, pants, tops and even outfits pairing gingham on gingham. Love it! We photographed this look about 4 weeks ago in January, so in all honesty these trousers don’t quite fit anymore with my growing bump. Plus I feel like I’m much bigger overall now, but I decided it’s better that I get to share these photos with you now or never. I wore these trousers as much as I could and while I could. If there’s one thing I miss so much right now with maternity clothes, is not being able to tuck my tops in at the waist. That is seriously my style signature, it’s what I’ve always done with my jeans. I know it sounds so simple, but I cannot wait for the days to tuck my shirts in the front again! Oh the simple things of life! The fun thing I love about gingham though is it really is one of the best prints to pair with fun colors. I love pairing it with strong colors like pops of red. I also love playing on soft tones like I did with this look. It tends to play off a feminine vibe.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Xo!
Any guesses, you guys?! BABY KUNG IS A BOY!!!!!! We have been planning for this moment for a month now, since finding out his gender in January. My hubs and I had an inkling that baby Kung was a boy, and our January ultrasound confirmed it. That’s for sure! Without a doubt, having a child is pure joy. My hubs and I both said that whichever gender God chose to bless us with, we knew we would be over joyous with it. I have to admit though, I secretly daydreamed that he was a boy and so this is a beautiful blessing. I’m so over the moon!
Some very wise women in my life reminded me to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy. Even when there have been tough moments, I’ve tried to focus on the good. Hearing his heart beat for the first time was the most surreal moment. I looked over at my hubs and tears began to fill my eyes. I just can’t even comprehend how wondrous it is that our bodies were designed for this. To have a child and be able to be apart of this journey as a soon to be Mom is beyond humbling. Though there’s significant body changes each day, I’m reminded to love my body. I love what my best friend said the other day, pregnancy and the changes is not the new normal. This is a journey, this is a short-term change for a lifetime of blessing. Yes to that! At times I find that time is moving so slowly, yet to think we are already 6 months along is mind-boggling.
To help us celebrate this exciting gender announcement of baby Kung, we teamed up with the iconic Trophy Cupcakes. This team is unbelievable, I have never met such talented and creative cake magicians! Seattle’s premiere cupcake bakery, Trophy Cupcakes blessed us with the most elegant and darling cakes and macarons. Every single cupcake and cake is hand-decorated, and I have so much appreciation for what goes into this. It was such a pleasure to share ideas with them and see what they came up with for these gender announcement cakes. It really is so special to celebrate with customized cakes, specially designed for us. I’m convinced that everyone should have customized cakes made for them for everyone of their parties. If only Trophy Cupcakes was in my life back when we were getting married. A very special thank you to Trophy for being apart of our celebration and for the cake party of my dreams!
Thank you for reading and celebrating with us for our coming baby boy. Hugs!
Can these cakes get any more beautiful?! And of course, Trophy knows how much I love blue. Just you wait, baby Kung will always be wearing blue. Not just because he’s a boy, but because his Mommy loves blue!
P.S: do you spot my sweetest little cutie peeping in the corner?! The delicious smell of these cakes were so tempting for her, what a doll!
Hi you guys! I’ve been arming myself with this cozy teddy bear coat lately to fight off the chill. I get so bored of wearing the standard issue type of winter coat. Although I love puffer coats and some of the more typical winter styles, every so often I like to rotate in a fuzzy coat with a warm sweater. In Seattle I can certainly get away with this lighter version of cozy given the more moderate temps here.
I get asked so often by friends and followers for tips on how to wear the oversize coat without looking like a truck. Believe me, as my body is growing with pregnancy the last thing I need is to wear is an oversize coat that makes me look ten times larger. First things first with oversize coats is I look for the fit and structure. Even though this teddy bear coat is oversized, the long length extending below my knees adds great dimension. I really enjoy wearing long-line outerwear to elongate my body like this one. That helps with proportions. I’ve also paired this look with fitted leggings and slender ankle booties to balance out the proportions.
Finishing off my outfit with the houndstooth baker boy hat. I find hats to be a challenging accessory to pull off, especially this style. What I do love about hats though is the bold statement they make. For that reason, hats are a mainstay of fashion accessories in my closet.
Moving on from this outfit, I’m so excited for next week! It’s going to be a big week when it comes to the baby department. To start off the week, my hubs and I are doing a gender announcement for you guys. Right here early next week, we will be revealing the gender of baby Kung! Any guesses? Boy or girl? We are thrilled to share this with you, so be sure to check back here next week for this. Additionally, we are traveling back home later in the week to be with friends and family, and my sister is hosting a baby shower for us. She has shared a few little details with me, but most of it is a surprise and I’m just over the moon. I will definitely share photos with you guys from our baby shower afterwards.
Thank you so much for reading and I wish all of you a wonderful weekend! Hugs!
When it comes to skincare products, I’m most typically drawn towards the more natural-based products. Even more so during this pregnancy, I’ve been more cognizant of the types of things I’m applying on my body. I try to think about baby Kung first before I ingest certain foods or use certain beauty products. People often say that mamas are more cautious and contentious in their first pregnancy, and that certainly might have some truth to it. Yet I do find that natural health for me has been a journey and something I’ve come to truly value in my life over the last several years.
I’m certainly not an all or nothing kind of gal when it comes to natural and organic beauty products, yet I do like to strike a balance. I recently discovered a few key products that I absolutely love and I’m excited to share these with you guys! One thing I’ve been loving about these particular products is their beautiful natural essence, and of course each product offers the most invigorating aroma. This is the kind of thing that helps me wake up in the morning, knowing that I get to lather myself in beautiful lavender products for an awakening and soothing start to the day. Since I’ve decided to eliminate coffee during pregnancy, a girl has got to have something to look forward to in the morning!
Essential Oils is the first line of products that I love, especially the French lavender products. The hand sanitizer is the perfect size for carrying in my handbag, and its ah-mazing! I’ve been using this to ward off germs and love to use it especially when we’re traveling. Not pictured below, I have been using the shampoo and conditioner from the rose and chamomile collection and love it! The product is so natural, filled with restorative botanical extracts. Best of all, these are scented with pure essential oils and the aroma is exquisite.
I also love the EO skincare day and night serum oils. Friends are telling me that I have a pregnancy glow, but I honestly think it’s these EO face serums I’ve been using! I’ve been applying these oils to my skin right before I apply my regular moisturizer. I find that the oil doesn’t sit on the surface of my skin like so many other oils and serums do. I feel it penetrating and hydrating my skin to the fullness. I highly recommend adding these to your daily skincare routine!
Last, but not least is my new discovery of Kopari! Kopari beauty products are coconut oil based beauty products and these are beyond next level. This is true body care and perfect for any body, not just pregnancy. I especially love the Coconut Melt for applying to stretch mark areas. The name of it describes the product to the fullness. You literally only need a small scoop placed in your hand, and instantly the coconut melts in your hands. It is the most beautiful product to slather the entire bod, and doesn’t leave your body oily in any shape or form. This is 100% pure organic coconut oil and it is the most wonderful hydration experience. You guys have to check out their line of coconut products, you’ll thank me later!
Thank you so much for reading, friends! A very special thanks to EO Products and Kopari for gifting the products.
