I’m so excited to share with you this incredible Canadian company called Flax Sleep. They make linen bedding that is high quality, SO comfortable and more affordable than any other linen bedding I’ve found. I’ve had linen bedding at the top of my *want* list for quite some time, but with a few too many sheet sets for our queen bed it wasn’t a top priority. After moving I was very excited when we switched to a king size bed because that meant I was on the search for some bedding. I was so excited that Flax Sleep wanted to collaborate with us because either way I was going to get me some of these linen sheets, and now I’m honestly wondering why I waited so long. I kid you not, every night when we slip into bed either Dan or I mention something about how comfy and luxurious this bedding is. It’s only getting softer with time and it’s warm but cold, but just keeps you the right temperature. I don’t know you guys, but if you’ve been contemplating the switch, I highly recommend you do it, and if you haven’t thought about it, start NOW! It’s a worthwhile investment.
Flax Sleep is ran by 3 women who were inspired to fill the void in the Canadian marketplace for linen bedding at friendly prices. They sought out ethical manufacturers and high quality materials and also give back! Part of their proceeds (and all returned goods) are donated to a local charity to reduce waste and give back to the community. Love that.
I looove this Blume beetroot latte, another local company :)
Why Linen is Better
Since purchasing my first linen top I’ve been a big big fan of linen and all it’s amazing qualities! I never hesitate to spend a little bit more on linen for my kiddos because another amazing quality is it’s resistant to stains, I’ve had everything from mud, blueberries to a full on chocolate ice cream cone just cover light linen overalls and there is no trace of it, it still kind of blows my mind. I found a fewww more awesome facts about linen on the Flax Sleep website I pasted below!
”- gets softer with more washes, it’s stronger, and will last 2-3 times longer than standard cotton. - Linen is naturally hypoallergenic so it won’t trigger allergies that keep you up at night. - Linen has greater bacteria-fighting powers than similar materials. - Requires considerably fewer pesticides and fertilizers than other crops. - Uses up to 20 times less water and energy to produce than cotton and nothing goes to waste. - Good conductor of heat, keeping warm inside, while the outside stays cool and airy to touch. - Enjoy zap-free sleepy times. Linen sheets won’t shock you with static electricity. - Absorbs up to 20% of its weight in moisture before feeling damp, and releases it into the air to remain cool and dry.”
I have the linen duvet cover in blush and sheet set in sand - shop them here!
Things around here have been pretty quiet, but Tegan and I are both so excited for what is in store this year !
I have a new studio in Strathcona in the Eastside Studio building, and Tegan has a cute at - home studio in the works. It is the first itme in 8 years that Tegan and I will be working a part, and it' already feels like a big change. We still see each other a couple times a week and take turns making the drive to each other’s studio to work on Pink House.
I am still in the process of getting my studio all set up but it is definitely coming together! I gotta say, I am in love with this Nespresso machine. It makes coffee and clean up so easy in my little studio, especially when I have a bunch of things on the go!
The best part of this machine, is that it’s fast, clean, and the pods are recyclable! I was always unsure about purchasing one of these coffee machines because I thought they weren’t good for the environment, but Nespresso has teamed up with a recycling depot to recycle all of the pods - definitely into that!
Nespresso has tons of different kinds of coffee, from espresso to americanos - however you like your coffee you can manually adjust and set it so it pours just as you like. It also creates this really yummy crema on the top. It is such a nice way to start the morning at my studio.

I don’t wear this girl as often these days but every time I do I wonder why I don’t do it more! I love having her close and having my hands free, especially now that she can walk she just wants to squirm out of my arms, so if she’s strapped to me she’s a bit more likely to just chill out and snuggle. The best. This girl is my snuggle bug and I love it.
I can’t handle her in this little hat thats just a tad too big, and always pointing that little finger.
Millie and I are both wearing the matching Ember blouse from June Isle which is the softest organic cotton hemp, it’s SO comfy!
This gorgeous diaper bag is just the best, the inside is the prettiest jade colour. Lily Jade bags are amazing for compartments, so many pockets, it’s an organizers dream come true,
… and doesn’t it always seem to sneak up on us? We teamed up with Vinho Verde Wines to talk about how to create a girls night in with a few easy steps!
It seems like everytime I throw a party or a girls night in gathering, I am always a bit overwhelmed when the night comes! The to-do list gets bigger and bigger and time seems to slip by. The weather definitely encourages nesting, so why not do it with some of your good friends and some good bottles of wine. It’s honestly my favourite kind of night!
We have a list of some yummy and easy recipes to prepare for your girls night, and they are marvellously paired with some Vinho Verde Wines. Don’t you love a good wine pairing? This wine is seriously so good and refreshing.
Here are some simple recipes that we found that pair so nicely with the apple and floral notes of VINHO VERDE LOUREIRO - QUINTA DO AMEAL :
Hello hello! It’s been a long while since we posted any type of update here, and I took some pics recently of the girlies in their adorable Petits Vilains outfits so I thought I’d share them along with a cozy Autumn playlist! I forgot about this chill little playlist until last week when I put it on and was hit with all sorts of nostalgia. I made the playlist right after Millie was born last September and would listen to it on repeat all day for months. It takes me right back to those sleepy days of adjusting to life with teeny tiny Millie always in my arms or strapped to my chest. She’s such a big girl now, 14 months old who can run away from me with a cheeky grin on her face. She melts me. They both do. Hazel is such an amazing and helpful big sister, I love watching their friendship grow.
Over the last 6 weeks or so, something shifted in Dan and I. We love love love this apartment, it’s been so amazing having more space and this big bright room for the girls who have been sharing a room SO well. We love our wall bed, and having an office and love our neighbourhood and living in the city, but suddenly we knew something had to change. Dan needed a new office space for his recording/mixing and Lindsay and I were outgrowing our studio and were on the hunt as well. Vancouver is not an easy place to find rent, and also a hard place to be paying for 3 rents!
The idea of finding a house in White Rock was suggested by a friend and so we opened up the search to there and found a gorgeous house available to rent and we thought it was our dream home. We looked at it and it was absolutely perfect. It would have been cozy but it was enough space and such a cute little character home, we were sold. We were still in the process of talking about lease agreements and such and meanwhile I’m starting to grieve moving out of the city and everything that will change, and dreaming about this house and having our own room and a little reading nook. We came to an agreement on a long term lease, and then a few hours later it was off the table! It was so bizarre and we were devastated and confused. It felt like God was leading us and opening doors and then it all slammed shut and we were a few days away from the end of the month which would mean another month of searching. Back to Craigslist and the cliché "well God must have something better,” which I was like, ya right, this house was perfect. We actually did find another house we looked at a few days later that was BETTER! We were in shock and did all the things to make it happen but it just didn’t work out, they wanted a super short lease and we’re looking long term but this house was even better, it was perfect for us to live in and both to work out of. Again, we were left confused and wondering if we just had it all wrong. We looked at a few more houses that just wouldn’t work and then last week we found an amazing amazing house that is just a dream. It’s in a perfect neighbourhood, it’s big but not too big but will feel like a mansion compared to our little city apartment! Wood burning fireplace, massive yard, our own laundry. I can hardly wait. Moving into a house, let alone moving out of the city was never something in the cards, I thought we were here for good, but God really had other plans, and He really did have something SO much better that what we dreamed. We’re excited to be closer to more family and grandparents and hopefully have a chance to slow down our very fast-paced lives. I’m excited for this next chapter, sad about many things, but trying to focus on all the good that will come from it. Well thanks for bearing with me, I wasn’t planning on sharing all of that but there it is!
Let me know if you like the playlist, and if you have any favourites share them below! I’m always looking for something new :)
Sleep has been a something on my mind a lot lately, I’m just not getting enough of it and it’s been so hard on me. Little Millie was an incredible sleeper from about 5 weeks old, up until we moved a few months ago it all went spiraling downhill. Things have been slowly improving and she’s getting better at sleeping again, and I’ve found a few solutions too that have really been helping me get some much needed rest. I’ve started taking melatonin and B12 and they’ve helped me feel a lot more energized and I’m sleeping so much better. I was actually so surprised when I started taking melatonin before bed how much faster and deeper into sleep I could go. When I’m surviving some nights off of 5-6 hours of broken up sleep, it really helps me fall back asleep faster through those nightly interruptions, and together with the B12 I take in the morning I’ve found I’ve been having more energy for the day!
I am honestly so excited to be using these products and partnering with Jamieson Vitamins on this because as a working mom I am constantly focusing on my girls’ and their sleep and nap schedules and making sure they get enough sleep that I don’t make my own sleep a priority. As I’ve been allowing myself better quality sleep, I’ve really noticed a difference.
Jamieson’s vitamins are premium quality, the B12 is naturally energizing and it’s an essential nutrient which is in a form that’s more absorbable to the body which means its super efficient and acts fast!
I’ve been loving the sprays and fast melts. They taste yummy which is always a bonus. Here’s to MORE energy and better sleep, something I think we all need this time of year, as the days grow shorter, colder and more grey.
We had SUCH a lovely time hosting our friends for a rosé party with Provence wines. It was so nice to gather as a toast to the end of summer with a bunch of our pals, and of course, plenty of rosé and appetizers.
Provence wine is THE reference for rosé wine - being the region that was the birth place of the French Vineyard, as well as rosé wine. (read more here)
There are many different kinds of Rosè, most equate pink wine with sweet wine, but that is not always the case with rosé! It is quite the versatile wine, and Provence wine has the characteristics of being fresh, crisp, bright and dry - my favourite kind of rosé.
The wines we had were all so tasty. The Domaine Saint Ferréol and the Chateêau Saint-Maur were my favourites of the bunch from the 3 appelations which we paired with appetizers, salads, and cheese as well as some sweet chocolatey treats.
There was much cheersing, the rain stayed away and we kept warm under some blankets once the sun went down. The only thing missing was a cozy fire to snuggle beside! I realized that drinking rosé on a crisp fall evening is kind of the best way to drink it, because the temperature outside kept the wine at juuuuust the right temperature, I was actually quite pleased by that!
Hope you’re taking some time in this busy back-to-school season, whether you or your kiddos are in school or not September always seems to brings a wave of change! Ring in the season with some friends and a yummy few glasses of Provence wine, you won’t regret it ;)
We're SO excited to be planning a little backyard get together to kick off September and clink some glasses of rosé to say au revoir to an amazing Summer.
We always go to Pinterest first when planning any sort of event, because what better space is there for inspiration? Can't wait to hang some pretty lights, prepare snacks galore and get cozy under blankets. You know how there's that sudden bit of crispness in the air, but it's not quite cold, and sitting outside at dusk with a warm blanket in September is just magical.
I recently joined my first ever unofficial *book club* and devoured a book that was all about wine and France with mysteriously lost vintage wine and all it made me want to do was sit and enjoy the company of friends over appetizers and wine, So I'm pretty excited to finally make that happen!
Provence wines are the reference for Rosé wine, and we're so excited to partner with Provence Wines to share these incredible vintages from France - Côtes de Provence, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, and the Coteaux Varois en Provence. I just discovered Provence is the oldest French wine region. I've been on the hunt for a go-to rosé, and just think I might have found one in this Domaine St Ferreol - fresh and crisp, fruity but not too sweet. Cheers to that!
Welp, tomorrow (by time this post goes up it's today) I'm 30. I'm sitting at home with a glass of red wine, editing photos, and my babies are snoozing away in the next room. I feel so content. The quote popped into my head a friend posted on instagram lately that was something along the lines of "remember when you wanted what you currently have." I feel like I'm in a season of really feeling content with what I have, life is crazy, it's still a juggle with our businesses and babies and all that life brings with that, but I'm learning to just let go and just enjoy these days. Soak up the little three year old dinner conversations. Put my phone away more, take less photos, have grace in the middle of the night when Millie would just rather sleep next to me than her crib. Drink more tea, less coffee, not rush out the door so much. Be grateful, and constantly get a fresh perspective.
I've been wanting a pair of Sandgrens clogs for ages and they're so good. I love them, (and they're having a huge summer sale!) I got the lower heel so they're still doable for every day chasing little kiddos, and they really are so comfy.
This book is on my wish list, I looooove her poetry and art.
Been dreaming of linen sheets, so obsessed with this rusty colour.
I tried on a Pansy tshirtthe other day and WOAH. Actually blown away by how comfy it was. Might need to invest in one.
I'm SO excited that this package-free grocery store called "Nada" opened just a few blocks from home. It's amazing.
A new product we recently launched over on Pink House is the Travel Kit! We worked on putting this together for a long time so it feels soo good to finally have it in the shop! So grateful for Pink House. It's been a huge learning curve for Linds and I this year, but it's been so good.
Here is some Pinterest Colour Inspiration! It has been so nice seeing so many new colours come up on my Pinterest feed lately. I have been loving these minty / avocado greens and powdery orange and pink. They have a super vintage feel but with such modern pops. Yay for colour! Can't wait to dig into my wardrobe and pull out these colours, in fact, I might need to do some thrifting!
