The Ohio-based duo Half An Orange, has just released a soulful, enchanting new single, “Given Up”. Addressing the struggles that people from all walks of life face, the track offers a sense of relaxation. It is now out on Monstercat. The laidback nature of the track is very evident right from the start, as gentle beats and subtle melodies soothe you. As the visuals of people in distress are seen, the lyrics offer a sense of relief and coax you to get over your struggles. Light and melodic basslines, coupled with some piano chords, and gentle guitar works make the track all the more effective, and leave you in a really happy state at the end of it. Andrew and Michael gave themselves this unique name when the latter spent time on a beach in Rio de Janeiro and picked up the Portuguese expression of ‘Half An Orange’, which signified that everyone is half an orange, looking for that other person or purpose to fulfill themselves! We definitely think the duo found their other half in the music that they invest themselves in. Their music always exudes a sense of ease, calm and brings out a natural essence in it, that touches you in a profound manner. However, they have mastered the art of adding elements of excitement and fun in it! The duo debuted on Monstercat earlier in 2018, with the single “Old Friends” feat. Blonde Maze that was featured on the Monstercat Instinct Vol.2 album. Their second release came in the form of “Left Behind”, which was a collaboration with Inukshuk. And now, they are back with their first single of the year on the record label. If you’ve got a lot of things bothering you right now, this is the go-to track for you! Let us know what you think about it and don’t forget to download it here.
Was there a better way for Marshmello to release his first Hindi track, than having dedicated it to the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan? Currently touring India as part of the Vh1 Supersonic Festival, the American superstar dropped his first Hindi track – “Biba” and he rightly dedicated it to one of the most known Indian faces across the globe! The track has been co-composed by Pritam and also features Shirley Setia. “Biba”, in the music video, features dance moves from some of SRK’s most famous movies! One can clearly see the invocation of tracks like Dola Re Dol from Devdas, and many sequences from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Se and – how do we forget – Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. In the end, Marshmello and another man with the same headgear walk-in on the red carpet. Next, you’re up for a surprise when the other man unmasks and it’s Shah Rukh himself! The ending is quite filmy when SRK says, “Marshmello. Naam Toh suna hoga (You must have heard the name)”. As obvious as it seems, Marshmello loves everything about India and why not! Here’s what he has to share on Instagram. View this post on Instagram Anytime I’ve ever come to India I’ve always felt so welcomed like it’s home. I’ve always been so fascinated by the rich amounts of culture throughout the country. This is why Biba means so much to me because I was able to create something with @ipritamofficial and @shirleysetia that I’m so proud of and I hope everyone can appreciate the time and effort that went into this. Mellogang is going to take over Bollywood with this one!! Biba music video is out now on my YouTube! Big thank you to @jiosaavn @punitdmalhotra @iamsrk #biba A post shared by marshmello (@marshmellomusic) on Feb 14, 2019 at 11:01pm PST The humorous video will win over you and remind you of all the ever-green Shah Rukh movies! You MUST share this with all those die-hard fans of SRK and tell them that he just joined the Mellogang!
Not a lot of us can believe that it has been 20 years since Cosmic Gate made their entry into the dance music scene. Yes, that’s true however and the duo is now set to commemorate this special occasion with the launch of a new album “Forward Ever, Backward Never” and an album tour. From that very album that’s coming up, Cosmic Gate has released a brand new track that features Forêt – “Need To Feel Loved”. Staying true to their signature production style, the track opens with a rough bassline, some echoey vocals, and thumping beats. Slowly, and elegantly, the track picks up the momentum that is led by some lovely piano chords before moving into the exhilarating build up to the drop. The drop isn’t a surprise but definitely gets your energies soaring and leaves you with a blissful feeling! It’s definitely one that showcases what we can expect from the album too. “The release of the original ran in almost complete parallel with a time our sound was undergoing its first significant change. During pre-production on ‘Earth Mover’, the depth and emotional complexity of ‘Need To Feel Loved’ was highly influential on Nic & I” – Bossi The 20 years’ celebration of Cosmic Gate has already touched Australia and will continue through to early summer in locations like New York, Ultra Miami, London, Moscow, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta. Nic Chagall spoke of the upcoming album and said, “What was most important to us in reinterpreting it, was that we didn’t retrace any musical ground already covered. What we’ve come up with gives us the perfect new version to play on the 20 years tour!” It has been true entertainment and exploration of music in the deepest manner for the duo in the past 20 years. After having created incredible music for so long, there are still no signs of slowing down, from them. This release has been a testament of just that and we really can’t wait to see what’s in store in the new album! Let us know what you think about it in the comments below. Download the track here.

Award-winning globally renowned electronic music producer NETSKY releases the brand-new single “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” ft. Bazzi & Lil Wayne via Republic Records and Casablanca Records. About yesterday’s release, NETSKY said, “As soon as I heard Bazzi’s topline I knew it was special. We ended up doing a few different versions of the song before we found the production that felt perfect. It turns out it had always been a dream of both of ours to work with Lil Wayne and we couldn’t think of anyone we’d rather have to jump on the track and complete the song. I’m excited for the world to hear what we’ve done together.” “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” is the third installment from forthcoming Palmtrees & Powerlines, the two-part project that explores both NETSKY’s magnetic brand of pop music (on Palmtrees) and his genre-bending innovation as a creator of club tracks (on Powerlines). Each song from Palmtrees & Powerlines will find a place within one of these two worlds NETSKY has built. “I Don’t Even Know You Anymore” continues to build upon Palmtrees, alongside the previously released “Téquila Limonada” feat. A.CHAL. While last fall NETSKY released “Ice Cold” with David Guetta, which finds its home in Powerlines. After their release with dance music titan Armin van Buuren ‘Repeat After Me’, Belgian brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike keep the intensity ramped up with their latest offering ‘Selfish’, featuring the vocal talents of Kosovan singer-songwriter Era Istrefi. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike once again showcase their diversity with a pop-leaning anthem that is set to resonate worldwide, refreshing the iconic hook from Toto’s ‘Africa’ and giving it a tropical twist in the process. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have been continuing to dominate the dance music space, after returning to the Sportpaleis Antwerp to debut their Garden of Madness homecoming shows across four sold-out dates in December as well as recently winning MTV’s ‘Best Belgian act’ award, the duo enter 2019 in the same vein as they ended their impressive 2018, with their second high-profile collaboration. Having worked with a roster of some of the highest profile names across a wide spectrum of sound, including trap pioneer Gucci Mane and hip-hop star Wiz Khalifa on summer anthem ‘When I Grow Up’, the brothers draft in Era Istrefi to provide the vocals on ‘Selfish’. The Kosovan-born singer has been riding a wave of success since her breakout hit ‘BonBon’, released on Armada, which has amassed over 600 million views on Youtube, and has since worked with artists such as Nicky Jam and Will Smith on the Diplo produced ‘Live It Up’, which was used as the official anthem for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are no strangers to pushing boundaries within their scene, and the combination of the two artists on ‘Selfish’ is a match made in heaven, as both artists trademark skills are on show and elevate the track. The melody, inspired by the infamous ‘Africa’, develops into an anthemic lead that soars about the track and Era’s perfect vocals, which are delivered with stunning clarity. ‘Selfish’ is another display of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s ability to consistently diversify their arsenal, turning out this radio-friendly hit that is set to penetrate the airwaves across festival fields and club dancefloors alike. Grab your copy of ‘Selfish’, out now on Smash The House.
Meet 2019’s brand new pop princess – Leyah. The Romanian artist bursts onto the scene this February with her debut single, the feisty, future-facing pop anthem ‘Na Na Na’ – released February 15. Born into a family of musicians, music runs in Leyah’s blood and she has been making music and performing since she was just 5 years old. Her father, a professional classical conductor, has had a huge impact on Leyah’s career path and her attitude towards music. “My dad once told me ‘There is no bigger freedom for mankind than music’” explains Leyah, “he was a respected and well-known conductor back in the 80s in Romania. But due to the communist regime, he wasn’t free to express his creativity as we are today. He and many other artists back then, were often stopped trying to cross the border, even though they were invited by European orchestras to perform. He has suffered a lot, but the one that always saved him was the music” Leyah began her journey in music learning classical piano, and she continued on this path throughout her childhood. She has earnt multiple awards, and graduated with a degree for classical piano, but it was following graduation that she realised she wanted to make her own music and cross over into pop. Speaking about her self-penned debut single, Leyah said: “I’m so excited to release my first single ‘Na Na Na’. It’s a love song, about two people trapped in an all-consuming relationship. So many people haven’t found true love yet – we don’t have time, we’ve been unlucky…but this song is for those whose relationship is so intense and passionate, that it transcends the constraints of our world” she explains, “This love bonds them, makes them feel unleashed, enchanted, empowered, electrified, vanishing any touch of conscience. It is their gate away to liberation. This is something I feel we see now more than ever in the past!”
After the huge success of their Zeds Dead collaboration ‘Lift Me Up’ and the consequent confirmation of upcoming second studio album ‘Only In Dreams’, bass dons Delta Heavy continue the onslaught of huge hitters, this time calling on the talents of one of electronic music’s most in-demand vocalists, Jem Cooke, for new single ‘Take Me Home’. In marked contrast to the roaring bass euphoria of ‘Lift Me Up’, ‘Take Me Home’ has a slightly softer edge, the production duo encouraging the listener to fall over and over into sublime runs of percussive arpeggios that provide a waterfall of rhythm for Jem’s light, dreamy topline, and their insistent melodic hook. It’s a deft, delicate touch from Delta Heavy but one that’s masterfully done, managing to keep the depth and weight of their core D’n’B sound running throughout the entire piece. UK duo Delta Heavy, who have been producing together since 2008, has refused to be constrained by genre limitations, resulting in a plethora of celebrated productions including ‘Ghost’, ‘Get By’ and their massive debut album ‘Paradise Lost’, which spawned the 18 million+ streaming monster ‘White Flag’. With news breaking last month about their second album ‘Only In Dreams’ and an accompanying world tour, fans from North America to Australia and everywhere in between have become increasingly ramped to hear upcoming music from the pair. Having worked with everyone from Cher, Zero 7, Friction, Eric Prydz and Martin Garrix to Camelphat, Jamie Jones, Hot Since 82, Rebecca Ferguson and Wilkinson, London singer-songwriter Jem Cooke is one of the most requested top line collaborators in the industry. Her vocals have soared across countless tracks, including her previous cut with Delta Heavy, the 2015 single ‘Nobody But You’.
There’s a reason certain relationships are called “toxic”: they bring you down, leave you reeling, and yet they’re so addicting that you can’t quite walk away. Well, DNMO has had enough; the 17-year-old UK artist takes a stand against toxic relationships in his distorted teenage love song, “Sick of You.” The track exemplifies DNMO’s complex sound through its multi-layered approach, delivering soulful melodies entwined with organic instrumentals and a tinge of darkness throughout. DNMO teamed up with Sub Urban for the release, which is out via Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label and is the premiere track from his upcoming EP. Stay tuned for more new music from the EP dropping soon, and check out what DNMO and Sub Urban had to say about “Sick of You”: “Sick Of You” was written about a girl in your life that you cherish more than anyone else. It’s about old habits, ritual attraction and at times, pity, obscured the fact that this girl was a toxic ailment towards everyday life. For this track, Sub Urban and I spent a week writing music in the studio together, which really helped us reach a whole new level of songwriting. Through that experience, we were able to capture the high energy vibe we were feeling at the time”. – DNMO & Sub Urban At just 17 years old, DNMO is already making serious waves in the discerning dance music community. He found a home at Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label, where he has released several tracks. DNMO’s sophisticated sound holds its foundation in soulful melodies with electronic vibes, while still keeping an organic touch through the use of live instruments. In 2018, he made his U.S. debut at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, making him the youngest electronic artist to ever play at the iconic venue, which he quickly followed up with festival debuts at Electric Zoo and HARD Day of The Dead. In his first few months of touring, he performed at venues such as Ministry of Sound, Aragon Ballroom, and Exchange. He wrapped up 2018 by touring with Ghastly and Ookay throughout the United States. DNMO has set incredibly high stakes at an early place in his career, but he’s not going anywhere but up!
Music moguls and longtime friends Nicky Romero and David Guetta teamed up for their latest collaboration “Ring the Alarm,” a new festival anthem that exemplifies both producers’ reputations as legendary party-starters. The track delivers vocal elements of reggaetón paired with tribal instrumentals and a deep, driving bassline that’s guaranteed to get the crowd dancing. Romero and Guetta were among those credited for the progressive house and big room sounds in electronic dance music back in the day, and now they’ve refashioned it for the modern age. “Ring the Alarm” is out on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings following his recent release “Distance” with Olivia Holt and the announcement of Nicky Romero’s return to Hakkasan and Omnia in Las Vegas for 2019 residency. Nicky Romero and David Guetta’s journey to “Ring the Alarm” started nearly a decade ago, when young producer Nicky released his first two bootlegs of David Guetta’s “Memories” and “When Love Takes Over” in 2009. The veteran artist then invited Romero to join him on tour, which sparked a friendship that would result in multiple remixes, tours, and collaborations together in the height of dance music’s resurgence into the mainstream. Nicky and David’s first track together was 2011’s “Wild One Two” featuring Sia, followed by 2012’s notable club single “Metropolis.” The space between then and this year’s release of “Ring the Alarm” has been filled with intersecting performances by Romero and Guetta, including Guetta’s appearance as the special mystery guest at the first ever Protocol Recordings showcase in Amsterdam in 2012 and both artists’ b2b2b with Afrojack at Tomorrowland in 2013. Although both are now label bosses and tastemakers leading the industry, they certainly aren’t finished combining their talents. Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait long for another collaboration!
